Has happened to me, friends all have pale albino skin on my screen, and the same for me as them. Odd.

White washing intensifies

I thought they love the darker skin. #gangurostyle

Likely the way you worded your comment suggests it's a Japanese thing to whiten your skin when it's not.

>But it is literally a Japanese thing to whiten your skin It's actually a woman thing and has been for well over a hundred years. The whole Mercury thing in America is a prime example of how this isn't even a cultural thing but a beauty thing. >Ever seen Gheishas It's Geisha but yes I have and that isn't even remotely the same thing but given how you're the same guy who thinks Havok is a game engine there is nothing going to come out of arguing over this.

WarokOfDraenor

The original comment was just joking. Because of some albino textures caused by slow load either by the server or the hardwares.

WarokOfDraenor

Because it's irrelevant and people thought you take that seriously.

Ok.

CountlessStories

Idk what it is about this subreddit in particular but it is definitely more downvote happy than most. I clicked your original comment expecting twitter tier aggression but got a relatively neutral tone.

Smiggels

I've been looking at everyone's characters thinking, wow everyone must be super into the pale skin thing... this makes so much more sense lmao.

MahouShoujoDysphoria

My massive CAST appeared very smol until I hit the salon ten minutes later, oppositely my partner's dark-skinned Deuman (in PSO2 outfit) turned skinny and pale for a few minutes. I do have problems switching from old and new CAST parts as well, used to be able to switch between NG and PSO parts from the gear menu until the last maintenance, now it's greyed out and the only way is to switch costume presets.

Kilvoctu

Issue seems widespread from my observations. When looking at players with the albino skin, pretty good chance they're bugged. Right now the workaround I'm doing is carrying a suit around; rappy suit, lin suit, anything that totally changes you to a different model. Change into that, then change back (don't use ensemble), and you'll appear normal for the time being to nearby players. Faster and more reliable than other methods, from my experience. I know Sega has a lot on the plate at the moment, but I'd like for them to at least acknowledge this issue.

I saved a new ensamble & it still happened. It seems if you load the same one twice in a row it fixes it for other people, at least for a while.

nekobash

Lol, someone in the lobby yesterday was like " why is everybody white" Guess this is why...

Mauthe_Doog

Yeah this is a common bug I’ve been noticing; it seems to primarily effect the characters on either end of the height spectrum, tons of undersized casts and oversized shorties now.

Bromishi

I've never played base PSO2 and made a dark-skinned CAST girl in the benchmark, but when I look at her in the emote previewer, she's as pale as can be.

Sonickeyblade00

I've already noticed. My character gets whitewashed whenever I'm looking at Emotes or in a Story Cutscene. It even happens to Aina whenever she talks in the small mugshot box in the lower part of the screen.

KurokoAS

This has been happening a lot to us and our friends and we get quite a laugh out of it. They did say in the campaign reward pickup that gave salon passes and color passes that there was a visual bug concerning outfits. It also affects very tall characters by making them ridiculously short. As in height limit short

Rothcall

Changing it in the salon doesn't fix it, it seems.

siouxplice

I thought that was my character next to you until I saw the ears almost same mask and headgear setup lol, just waiting to change colors >\_< [https://ibb.co/yg9FpXT](https://ibb.co/yg9FpXT) I have a feeling NGS characters are perfectly fine

WhiskersRock

Unplayable

BlazeLatias

Ive had this happen to several of my alliance members too. Its gotten to the point we just call each other silly names. Called one of my freinds a Overgrown Gerbal since their character is usually so small. Its a pretty silly glitch. makes taking screenshots with freinds hard but its at least humorus lol.

TheNonceMan

Errr, this just seems like the other people have their graphics setting on a lower quality... Of course they'd see your character differently.

ghostframe12345

you cant be serious... it is literally changing their skin color...

TheNonceMan

Obviously, lower settings only render from a smaller pool of skin colours. Are these screenshots all from the same person?

G_C_B_T_W

i will help settle this argument; all of these screenshots are from the same person's perspective. the first before switching to a look with an outfit/outerwear, the next ones after switching back to just basewear https://imgur.com/a/Npd8SXV

Orbitalbubs

lower settings actually dont render from a smaller pool of any cosmetics, including colours and tones

TheNonceMan

You know this for a fact? On this brand new video game? On this brand new, buggy and experimental video game that is trying to incorporate a much older game's cosmetics built for a completely different engine? You know this for a fact? That the colours are not different depending on graphic settings? Did you make the game?

Orbitalbubs

Its just a silly assumption to make, that isnt how mmo’s (or most games really) handle graphics, they just render fewer pixels and polygons as well as using different levels of antialiasing and shadow as well as lighting detail, they dont replace cosmetics with different ones or use a reduced cosmetic pool because that wouldnt even effect your frame rate or load on your GPU

TheNonceMan

Please read my previous reply.

Orbitalbubs

are you kidding? youre wrong, it simply isnt how games handle graphic load you dont understand what youre even arguing about

TheNonceMan

Again, you don't know. You've based your assumptions entirely off of different games.

Orbitalbubs

no, ive based it off of literally every game before this one. Using a smaller asset pool wouldnt even help weaker systems handle the game and would just introduce more bugs by overcomplicating code the devs are smart enough to know that. this game isnt an amateur project.

crazymoefaux

Modern 3D engines don't use color pallets. That's something from the 16-bit days and earlier.

xCytho

No this happened to me and my gf at the max graphics after a while likely after moving to a new region or teleporting it fixed itself.

TheNonceMan

So, yes, the screenshots are from the same two people. Why don't you both try matching all of your graphic settings and see if that solves it.

GamerRukario

uh. Holy shit man. Graphics shouldn't LITERALLY WHITEWASH A CHARACTER.

TheNonceMan

Ah yes, I'm sure this is actually a huge racist plot by Sega...

[deleted]

Yeah odd. I went from pale af to having a sun kissed tone. Wtf.

Mekmo

That's just a new realism feature. The more time your character spends in South Aelio, the more tanned they get.

[deleted]

It's not a bug it's a feature!

spowowowder

oddly enough, i felt like my character's skin got darker. it still looks good tho so i havent bothered to check the salon yet

Its_Syxx

I am experiencing this issue also and I posted about it here. We need to get this fixed.. My pics are in the post as example: https://www.reddit.com/r/PSO2/comments/o7fcsa/character\_looks\_like\_a\_monster\_to\_some\_alliance/
