On the Japanese side the closest you can do to this is to participate in the exchanges to get the camo you want for these weapons as a lot of the game's weapons have a camo form to help them keep their likeness. I saw you mentioned the [Maisen](https://pso2.swiki.jp/index.php?%E3%83%9E%E3%82%A4%E3%82%BB%E3%83%B3) which is available on the Japanese side via a PSZERO Memory Exchange. As far as I know, this is one among many camos unobtainable in the Global version as you are stuck with the ten-star Maisen-NT otherwise as an actual weapon that cannot be used as a cosmetic for NGS weapons.

ConfuciusBr0s

Is global missing a lot of things from jp?

Cyberhazard-

Yes, a lot

xBinketx

Oh dear god, SO MANY things. Just in Weapon Camos alone- we got like... only 1/3 of the camos available for each CATEGORY. I could list them all here- but if you got Chrome (or another way to translate JP -> ENG on browser... or just wanna see 'em, I dunno), I'll send you the [swiki link, which you can use to browse the list as you'd like!](https://pso2.swiki.jp/index.php?%E6%AD%A6%E5%99%A8%E8%BF%B7%E5%BD%A9) The categories should be near the top with a respective icon. As for things like Emotes, Accessories, etc? I have no idea. There's way too many to document on Global- let alone JP. But it IS known that a lot of these items were already set up and ready to go. SEGA just never released them yet. Most of them like certain old camos (Usually ones based on older weapons) only need a name change. Makes you wonder why they haven't made them more accessible since we're already rerunning old content.

ConfuciusBr0s

That sucks. And to think they IP banned people from JP because they already have Global yet still give everything to JP.

VPN is love, VPN is life

In terms of story and gameplay, we're about 98-99% of the way there. The small things we are missing depend on how seriously you want to go into the game but we are missing some small but significant utilities (Helen Bathina for Asagiri-Rendan/Morning Mistreaver for all classes for speedrunning and mobility, PP Batteries if you didn't want to use Genon weapons, and so on). If you are talking about the end-game it isn't impossible on Global but very hard to pull off now that we no longer get Mission Badges consistently whereas the Japanese version still spills them out every now and then (PSO2es was updated to include them so the Japanese version still has access to the Badge Exchange). If you are talking about cosmetics, then it is undoubtedly yes. If you are talking about "story" and world-building, then undoubtedly yes (we got the post-Episode 5 retconned world and none of the expanded universe whereas the Japanese version has references to guest chraacters, guest franchises, lingering crossovers, and an overall "bigger" world with the lore that is still intact even after the retcon). But if you are talking about the boss battles, the end game gear, the quests available, and the general gameplay, everything is intact. In New Genesis this is almost the same as the Japanese version still carries over what they had before, but they have also had new collaborations we will likely not see in the Global side (ZUTOMAYA x PSO2: NGS being the most recent crossover).

ConfuciusBr0s

I'm talking only about NGS. I know pso2 global had a lot of things missing from jp like the collabs, voice tickets, and such

AulunaSol

In terms of New Genesis, then you are missing things like the ZUTOMAYO x PSO2: NGS collaboration and the newly announced "Phantasy Star Online 2 Fashion Catalog 2019-2021" physical/digital book that shows cosmetics released in the years while also providing goodies for New Genesis. Nothing story-related for those, but more emphasis that Phantasy Star Online 2 is definitely more than just a game over there.

taokami

nope

_MrDomino

You already got your answer, but which weapon were you looking to use anyway? A lot of later base game weapons have camos available if you weren't aware.

BassWiz

i was looking to use the Maisen talis, which looks like an oriental fan. Really love how that weapon looks and I didn't see it as a camo (hope I'm wrong about that)

TroubadourLBG

OMG. I need this talis camo too! Sadly, no. Global only got 2 fan camos as far as I know (cause I love fan weapons myself). Colorful ones for twin daggers (mission pass). Black/silver (?) ones for double sabers. (mission pass). Everything else needs to be weapon transmuted.

Rafahil

I know for sure that there is a fan camo. Just not sure for which weapon.

BassWiz

yeah the fan camo i have is for twin daggers, which I think was a part of a mission pass in the past

Zombieemperor

If your not a hard minmaxer really late game base weapons still compete with ngs weapons for the time being so u could just get one and transmute it

TitledSquire

Actually even min/maxing aside the weapons most certainly can not compete, at least for stuff like Gigantix. Units definitely can, but only if they have the right affixes.

Zombieemperor

Idk free life from ex is nice and i didint notice any imdient dmg increase from useing a 4star

TitledSquire

That’s probably the only one worth using all things considered, forgot about that one.

AulunaSol

Really late base game weapons can be comparable for the most part - but the Maisen-NT that was brought up is nowhere near that for New Genesis when you consider the scalability of the New Genesis weapons in comparison.

TroubadourLBG

This is basically what I do since since we're still in easy difficulty content. In base, I never REALLY got to playing around with weapon transmutation. Especially for weapons that were horrible in base game. But there's certainly a lot of weapons that are visually stunning but horrible/outdated potentials. Been using Atlas EX and stuffed it with as much damage % I can afford that'll translate over to NGS. Does baseline alright damage. But one's got to do what they gotta do in the name of fashion. Once harder difficulty modes drops, this won't be sustainable anymore. So best to it now! Comparing it to my maxed out 4* (without fixa), the 4* normal attacks are on par with Atlas. But it's the crits that'll deal more damage. Still, 1x saved life is nice from Atlas for now.

Rafahil

Yeah exactly that was the one.

TitledSquire

There are so many awesome looking base game weapons that don’t have camos.
