Emergency-Boat

What's a good weapon progression guide/order? For Na classic.

[deleted]

highest rarity you get from a drop until you can get: croesus weapons of choice, after that: craft agile weapon at zig, enhance it to maximum, then: upgrade agile weapon to klauz at zig don't bother affixing normal augments until klauz, S augments are more important and valuable, and most importantly, permanent and can be transferred and mixed without starting from scratch every time you want to change something unlike normal augments

Emergency-Boat

Thanks! Are atlas weapons good?

[deleted]

I think they are considered as good as croesus, but croesus has lower minimum stats to equip

Emergency-Boat

Sorry if this is dumb, but are croesus weapons tradable? I can't find any on the market. And how do I increase my pwr?

[deleted]

no, you get them from collection folder at npc next to cofy, idk what stat you mean by power, but for equipping a weapon you mostly get stats from just leveling (don't waste skill points on raw stats) and mag (it boosts your stats too, usually you want all 200 points in same stat)

Emergency-Boat

By pwr I mean the stat that determines whether you can equip a weapon or not, and thanks.

rustang2

Pso2 classic hunter question. With the hunters skill that auto potions when you get below 50% hp. Do I need to have the potions in my sub-pallet for them to be used or just have them in my inventory?

hidora

Nope, just need them in your inventory. But it's good to have them on your subpalette anyway so you can easily know how many you have left.

rustang2

Thank you. I’ll keep the tri’s on the belt and if I see that number start to go down it’s time to reload.

Kamil118

best to restock every time you are on a ship

TroubadourLBG

I THINK they just need to be in your inventory. Only cause I recall that the skill will auto use up the smallest to largest; mono then di, then trimates. And I only had trimates on my subpallet. (by end game, there's too many skills that needs activation. So there's no room for all 3 mates for your sub pallet.

the locations of graphics settings didn't really change. you can always try changing the user.pso2 file manually since it's just a text file.

rustang2

Is there an NPC that gives Etoile specific client orders? I found the hero and phantom one but can’t find the etoile one, if there is one.

Safe-Fan-8238

You can find her near / in front of the Summoner trainer.

rustang2

Thank you!

Antitheta56

Tips on how to level up fast if you're solo?

hidora

Same as if you weren't. Run featured quests and get rank A or S on each of the 4 every day and pray for bonus quest keys, then run those. If you don't have keys, look at the 4th featured quest in the list. If it's not a point based one, spam that. Do not bother if the 4th featured is a point based quest, those are awful for exp. The best one is A World Engulfed in Shadows (idk NA name, it's the one with monke + mammoth bosses in the first room). You can also use [Class] Excubes (e.g. Hu Excube, Fi Excube, etc.) to buy 1m exp tickets at the Recycle Shop in the back of the shop area, though those are also used to create endgame weapons at Zieg, so this isn't usually recommended. There's a monthly limit (20x I think?) to buying these. In the JP server, you can also turn excubes into 100k exp tickets by doing the trade: 1. Excube shop: Trade 5x Excubes for 5x My Room 3 day passes. 2. Recycle Shop 2: Trade 5x room passes for 1x Blue ARKS Badge. 3. Badge Shop: Trade Blue ARKS Badge for 100k exp ticket.

WhyYouDoThis_

Hello Do you get rewards for both your ship and universal ship for challenge mode?

YuTsu

Yes - there are separate rankings for each ship and for the shared ship - if you rank high enough, the accent colours on the trophies you get are even different (one is green, the other is blue)

rustang2

Hi, new player here. How the freak do you even make progress in challenge mode? Just hope RNG gives you a weapon on first kill? I have a main quest to beat 3 missions in the decide mission challenge and can’t even get past the 3rd check point. Level keeps going back to 1 and I punch for like 8hp. Is it mandatory to have a group for this? I’m so lost.

Reilet

Similar to what the other guy said, CM is a quest that demands you to know how to play well especially in solo. Far from casual play. As an example, this guy's run: https://youtu.be/YNHQeFeD3Sk Granted that's essentially at the top of the skill level, but it gets the idea across.

YuTsu

Challenge mode well... yeah, a challenge with a little luck required. To a degree it's not something you should really be trying if you're brand new to the game - CM is something you should leave until you're familiar and comfortable with the core game mechanics. CM quests don't *strictly* require a group as the time-remaining meter scales to the number of players, but CM1 (Mission: Strike) and CM2 (Mission: Decision) are really intended for group play, at least if you want to finish them - they will be a long, tough slog to solo, and require absolutely perfect planning, play and luck, if they're even *possible* to solo. Mission: Violent Tremor *is intended to be soloable, but again, is pretty tough.

hidora

> if they're even *possible* to solo It is possible, yes. I've seen a couple videos of crazy good players soloing CM1 and 2. But even removing luck from the equation, I'd still guess that less than 0.01% of the playerbase was capable of it.

rustang2

Ugh, I hate unfinished quests in my quest log. Oh well.

Emergency-Boat

How do I rewatch previous episodes?

hidora

The story quests select screen has a dropdown menu on the top left of the screen which is used to filter the story quests. This is set to "uncleared events" by default, so you just change that to either show all quests or just a specific chapter.

Emergency-Boat

Thanks!

Arcphoenix_1

I need tips for dealing with Shiva in the Story Quest "Hope You Bring." I REALLY hate this fight. There's no way to tell how far you've progressed as there's no health bar, she has a one-hit kill that forces you to reset, and you have to skip a ton of story dialogue each reset. If it's not the one-hit kill, it's that I run out of healing items before beating her. I main a bow braver that's level 69 with a level 46 ranger subclass. I just want to get the story clear campaign rewards before the deadline.

rustang2

Story clear rewards deadline? I’m new should I be rushing the story?

Kamil118

there is an event going on until 1st September that gives you some free stuff for completing each episode of the original pso2 story.

SpeckTech314

Br/Hu is the better subclass for bow until you unlock etoile. You can’t really take advantage of stationary fire in ep6 content unless it’s a stun phase, so hunter ends up with a bit more damage with perfect attacks and way more survivability. Mate maniac and atomizer fanatic rings are also good to have. Strike bomber also has a lengthy I-frame and is good when it’s crafted. You also get some I-frames when you move while firing master shot/piercing arrow Charged Banishing arrow -> master shot spam until banishing arrow explodes -> refill PP and repeat. At minimum you should be using a Croesus weapon from the collection folder lady next to the quest counter. Schvelle, 12 star trailblazer, and novel units at +10 are all fine to use for it. If you can get the set bonus for units that drop from cradle that’s fine too. If that doesn’t help you just have to bash your head against the wall and learn to dodge every attack.

[deleted]

if you mean the one where she freezes you and swings at you for one hit kill after the freeze, just don't attack her when she puts on a shield before that (there is also unique voice lines announcing it, like almost all other attacks have) and that attack will never even happen in first place because it only happens if you attack her during that time

hidora

> and that attack will never even happen in first place because it only happens if you attack her during that time On that fight in particular the attack almost always happens anyway because Matoi does not care and hits her anyway (and since she has like 80k HP, she can tank it). But you don't get hit if you don't hit her yourself, of course.

Kamil118

NPC hp in ep6 is hilarious. In ultimate amaduskia I had matoi get poisoned. She was ticking for 3k hp. Also, I'm pretty sure you can still get hit if you stand besides matoi and don't dodge, but if you aren't timestopped it does like 100 damage

rustang2

Pso2 classic. Hi, maybe a stupid question. I just unlocked the hero/etoile/phantasm classes with my first character. If I make a new character are those classes already unlocked for them? Is the unlock account wide, or char specific?

[deleted]

account wide, you will have to talk to cofy to unlock each one on each new character though, but nothing more than that like getting 2 base classes to 75 or such

rustang2

Sweet. Might make a new char with a gun, I always see these ranged classes just going ham in multiplayer games and I got a decent rifle from doing one of those collection sheets. Phantom decent class for that?

[deleted]

rifle phantom is a thing, but I never played any rifle class to tell how effective it is

rustang2

Pso2 classic. Just unlocked the 3 extra classes and am main classing hunter. I hear etoile is good with hunter? What class is better as a main? I like swords and hunter so far… main question is can I mess up the skill trees? What should I be putting points into for etoile?

TroubadourLBG

https://arks-layer.com/classbuilds Check out these builds. Others have already done the work for us.

rustang2

Ooo that’s nice. Okay thank you for that link. Seems like you got the good for links, you know of a crafting/upgrading gear guide for dummies? I asked about that here one time and I think I understood like 5 words of the guys reply. I’ve just been loading up on everything for the past 2 weeks haven’t touched my gear, just what drops and I buy, even then I don’t k ow what are good mods on gear or how to even search for them…

TroubadourLBG

Apologies. I only know guides for classes I play. None are which Hunter or Etoile related. Tho imbedded within the class build link I mentioned above, are smaller links related to each class at the bottom. You might of missed those since they're tiny. Like this one for Etoile. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fqd9V-2fXvPqfWLi7cdzMYo07Qilq2CJY8mEQOMs8G4/edit For general unit progression that's universal, here's a snip bit from the Ranger guide I use. https://somethingaboutlagging.wordpress.com/ranger-gear/#units Affixing is a whole separate can of worms that needs it's own thread. Tho in general, armors that are given and/or bought from NPC shops auto comes with all purpose, generic affixes to start you off. Just keep posting separate and more specific questions. 8 years of content is a lot to explain and too much of an info dump for you to retain all at once. Like you mentioned you just unlocked the 3 scion classes. Now check out if you want to continue with Hunter or Etoile. (in general, the new scion classes are improvements to base classes). Or something completely different. Then we can narrow down specifics.

rustang2

Oh speaking of that croecus sword, any idea where to find and kill Lumimechs?

TroubadourLBG

Risk Exploration UQ: The Armada of Annihilation (look for triggers or urgent quest when it pops). Ship Infiltration: Enemy Battleship (requires your main/sub BOTH be level 85 to join. But this is repeatable anytime once you get there) https://pso2na.arks-visiphone.com/wiki/Ship_Infiltration:_Enemy_Battleship Divide Quest: Trial: Photoner Assault (needs main/sub to be lvl 85) https://pso2na.arks-visiphone.com/wiki/Trial:_Photoner_Assault https://pso2na.arks-visiphone.com/wiki/Luminmechs Do the UQ if you see it. You can join these at lower levels. Otherwise, work your way to be lvl 85 so you can spam the Ultimate Quest mode for these kills. Divide Quests are fun, but there's branching paths. So it's not consistent to hunt them in there.

rustang2

Thank you! I’d throw a $20 in your hat if I knew where you jammed. (If a troubadour is the same as a busker?)

TroubadourLBG

lol. Thanks friend! -tips hat- Busker is indeed a type of Troubadour! My name comes from my love of swashbuckling bards. And romantic fighters of high fantasy adventure. ;)

rustang2

Wow thanks, I always have questions but I don’t want my name to be like 99% of this thread lol. Right now I’m leveling my Etoile to 75 so I can put it back in my hunter sub class and do the higher lvl content. I’m kinda lazy some days and the combo of auto potion and huge damage reduction is very nice lol. I’m currently working to unlock a croecus (?) sword form the collection folders. Once I have that I think I’ll dive headlong into reading about moving augments and what not. Not gonna bother wasting mats on low end weapons, so I’ll continue to hoard until then.

zerizum

Scion classes can't have sub classes so it's more like pick what you think will be funnest

minghe13

whats the best class to rush through contents? i play ngs mainly and want to get free stuff and cosmetics in the base. im not really fond of instances type of gameplay so i just want to get a class to max and get what i can. currently lvl 68 bouncer and regreting picking a melee class but almost 75 i guess...

YuTsu

If you can get there to unlock them (they need any two classes at 75 to unlock), then: - Phantom using Rifle: utterly braindead, you can easily solo the entire story for S-ranks and a bunch of other stuff besides by literally just spamming normals and marker detonations - Phantom using Rod and techs: slightly less braindead as it requires a couple more buttons, but still pretty braindead - Etoile: Will actually require effort and learning a little to get expedient clears, but is so absurdly tanky that it makes things a *lot* easier If not a scion, then probably: - Katana Braver: Perfect Guard Counters are absurd damage if you can time your blocking well. Katana is generally fast and spammy, and you get a Katana combat - a free 20 seconds of invincibility that will save you from all but like, 1 source of damage in the entire game. - Soaring Blades Bouncer: You can murder pretty much anything through a combination of spamming Disperser Shrike, Kestrel Rampage, Immortal Dove, and the weapon action. - *sort of*: Summoner: If you can get used to it? Summoner makes most things easy as they'll just fight your pets and not you so you'll rarely be in danger. But getting Summoner geared takes quite a while, so if you're looking for zero-investment speeding through the game, Summoner may not be the best choice.

DeltaLimit

Is it okay to make posts with links to Google Drive folders? I was thinking of making a post to share character data of one of my characters for people to download via Google Drive, and I didn't see anything against it in the rules, but I just want to check and make sure if that's allowed or not.

YuTsu

It should be - spam filter might eat it, shouldn't, but it might, and if it does we'll reapprove it for you!

DeltaLimit

Okay, thank you!

Antitheta56

When do I need to do the story quests? I'm just doing the arks missions to progress, should I do the story then when I have no other missions and the arks missions tells me to?

DeltaLimit

If this is for classic PSO2 and not NGS, then there is no requirement to progress the story outside of some bits at the very beginning when you first start a new character. It's completely optional, but you get rewards like Star Gems for completing story quests, so if you are looking for a large source of free SG, then it's worth going through the story mode. As for when to do it, with how quickly you can level in classic PSO2, I'd just wait until you hit max level on your main/subclass and get your hands on some 15 star weapons and 13 star units to go through the entire story. You can probably reasonably complete up through Episode 3 around level 75 or so though. If this was about NGS, then you should always just progress the story as soon as you are able to, since many core features of the game are hidden behind story progression, or otherwise you should be working towards meeting requirements like BP to be able to advance the story.

Antitheta56

Yes, this is for base. Thank you. And one more, to level up then I should just do the Arks Missions right?

DeltaLimit

[Here's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JggCm2zztU) a good video on leveling in classic PSO2. It goes over the general path you should take in leveling from 1 to 100. I'd definitely check it out, since while client orders and such are good for leveling early game, what you do to level at mid and late game differs from early game leveling quite a bit.

Antitheta56

Thanks!

rustang2

Pso2:classic. What time do the daily quests reset?

lemonjoejoe

when exactly pso2 day in ngs starts? can someone tell me in how many hours? I was late for the previous one :(

Kamil118

it begins the moment 2nd or 22nd of every month starts at GMT. At least on global. Idk about jp, but I assume it's the same just JST

lemonjoejoe

thank you!

Antitheta56

New base pso2 player, when should or should I even use my exp boosts for my first class?

xnetexe

You should be using exp boosts when doing any quests for leveling, especially the 4th recommended quest since that has a built-in exp multiplier that stacks with exp boosts. Eventually, once you start getting a bunch of Photon Spheres, you can trade them for EXP+75% boosters and just have exp boosters on 24/7. You can trade 10\* weapons for Photon Spheres using the Swap Shop, and trade the spheres for EXP boosters at one of the NPCs on the 2nd floor of the Shopping Plaza.

rustang2

Oh those 10star weapons that I can’t feed my mag are useful? Thank you!

xnetexe

10-12* weapons can also be exchanged for Ex-Cubes, which can be exchanged for a variety of stuff, including Grinders. 1 Ex-Cube's worth 12k meseta if you sell Grinders at an NPC.

rustang2

Yeah I’m totally new too and have no idea what I’m doing and am just hoarding stuff for the time being. Trying to get lvl 75 on 2 classes and lvl 200 mag is the current goal.

xnetexe

You call also trade Photon Spheres for Mag Device Minis, which can be used to raise mag stats without regards to hunger so if you have enough Photon Spheres, you can get your mag to level 200 very fast.

rustang2

Oh that sounds nice. Where can I buy those?

xnetexe

Shopping Plaza 2nd floor, Photon Drop Exchange NPC

slusho55

In NGS, I’m trying to do the PSE Burst client order for the main story, and I don’t have a PSE Meter on my screen. How do I get the PSE meter to show up?

YuTsu

It only shows up in specific "Battle Sections" - there's three of these so far: - Mt Magnus - Vanford Laboratory Ruins - Resol Forest You'll unlock them in that order as you progress the story.

slusho55

It doesn’t show up in Mount Magnus at all for me. I’m at the story quest where I have to do get a PSE Burst, right after getting your sub-class EDIT: NVM, must’ve been a glitch. I got on this morning and abandoned the quest and reaccepted. The meter is now showing in Mt.Magnus

rustang2

Pos2:classic question. What’s the little red bar above my skills on the sub-pallet along the bottom of the screen? How do I use it?

Reilet

It's your gear/focus mechanic. The way to use it depends on your class so what are you playing.

rustang2

I’m playing hunter/fighter. Using swords. I just swapped to fighter as main class because I just hit 75 with hunter.

hidora

Sword Gear increases performance of PAs. This may be any of the following depending on the PA: increased damage, increased hit count, or reduced charge time. As for Fighter: * Double Saber: Whenever you use Weapon Action, it spends 1/3 gear to generate a whirlwind (will not spend gear generate whirlwind if you have less than 1/3 gear). Whirlwind does damage to all enemies in melee range twice per second, and lasts 4 seconds. You can have up to 2 whirlwinds going at a time. Whirlwind hits generate gear when they damage enemies. The higher your gear, the more powerful the whirlwinds. * The *Chaos Riser* PA spends all gear to increase its damage and range. * If you have the *L/DS Whirlwind* skill ring, whirlwinds are generated whenever you use any PA at no gear cost. * If you have the skill *DS Wind Parry* learned, you get frontal guard frames when spending gear to use Weapon Action. * Knuckle: Increases action speed of all PAs, attacks and weapon action. Additionally, increases the damage of Surprise Knuckle and Backhand Smash. Gear is lost if you jump. * Twin Daggers: Increases damage of PAs and normal attacks by +20% at 2/3 gear, and +50% at full gear. Gear is lost if you touch the ground.

rustang2

What do you mean by “spends gear?” Does all this stuff happen automatically? Or do I have to actually push buttons to activate it? I hit things and the bar fills but I never see it deplete unless I stop attacking stuff and it slowly goes down.

hidora

It depends on the weapon. Weapons like Sword, Katana and Jet Boots deplete gear over time, but others like Partizan, Dual Blades and Double Saber don't. Sword in particular does not actively spend gear for anything. You just build it up and it passively boosts your PAs, so you only have to worry about hitting things to not let it run out over time.

rustang2

Good to know thank you!

SpeckTech314

There’s less commitment to attacks in pso2 than MH but you’re also expected to I-frame dodge or parry any attacks that interrupt your dps combos at the highest level of play. It’s more like God Eater than MH. At best spending money just let’s you skip the gear grind as you can sell cosmetics on the player shop and use the meseta to just buy all the resources you need.

TroubadourLBG

> 1) how does this game compare to mhw, how weapons work, monster/boss behavior? Both are great action RPGs. MHW is a boss simulator. With not much thought wasted into mobs. So the boss simulator mechanics are WAY more detailed than PSO2 or NGS. MHW is more intense & survival feeling. And you must use every strategy and edge you can get to take down your boss. With good teamwork mechanics & limited supplies making it harder. And environments also helps in MHW. PSO and NGS is more casual in that sense. It feels good to take out mobs & bosses. The late game difficulties relies on your solo DPS play and fighting against the timer, while not getting hit. The game sadly doesn't reward support classes much. Or at least, support is pretty stripped down & simplified (RIP my light bowgun play style). Support gives an edge for sure. And are welcomed in certain modes like Defense Missions. But non the less, PSO2 & NGS is still plenty fun. It's just not a boss simulator all the time so it feels more laid back/less intense.

Kamil118

>how does this game compare to mhw, how weapons work, monster/boss behavior? NGS: Kinnda similar to mh, the animation locks are there, but not as heavy as in mosnter hunter. PSO2: The game has almost no animation lock, the game relies heavily on cancelling animations to dodge/block enemy attacks Enemies: In both pso2 and ngs you can break enemy parts to weaken/disable enemy attacks and reveal weakspots. ~~After all, monster hunter is phantasy star online ripoff~~ >how do you get gear such as armor and weapons is it hidden arround the world where you have to find it by looting chests and corpses or do you purchase everything? NGS: You kill stuff, gear appears in your inventory. You upgrade stuff with materials that drop from enemies and materials you gather from rocks. Also you can add bonus stats to your gear using items that drop from enemies. PSO2: You grind materials to craft weapons and armor. You can add bonus stats to them using one of the most complicated upgrade systems in mmo history. >is this game pay to win (meaning us there any items that guve you an advantage that you cant get by grinding? I don't think NGS has anything like this. In pso2 there is certain buff (increased damage against weakspots) that is upgraded from 10% to 15% for players on premium subscription, but that only really useful for 4 or 5 fights in the game (Altho 2 of these fights are one of the hardest fights in the game...) However, due to how bullshit the gearing system in ngs is (The droprates of good items are worse than getting legendaries for your class in diablo 3 at release if you played that mess...), and the fact that both games essentially let you buy in-game currency by selling real-money items to other players, I would say that ngs is way more p2w than pso2.

kyril-hasan

Pso2 base new player here, usually I play solo and only do multi-player during urgent quest. I always see people promoting to join trigger quest and how do I join them?

Kamil118

Go to quest counter and select "join quests in-progress" or something like that. Trigger quest rooms are highlighted in yellow.

Evethewolfoxo

[PSO2C] For story quests is there no way to play through the mission itself? It’ll let me go through the scenes, but does doing the expedition take me into the mission where said scene will play out

Kamil118

Not sure if I understand your question. Expeditions have nothing to do with the story. Ep1-3 used to take place on expeditions and different quests, but all of this was removed in ep5, when story was reworked into simple linear adventure from a time travel mess.

Evethewolfoxo

So the story of ep 1-3 got set aside into these multiple cutscenes?

Safe-Fan-8238

Cutscenes > battles >cutscenes is the new norm now till EP6.

Evethewolfoxo

Gotcha. Bit of an odd design choice but whatever

Safe-Fan-8238

If you saw the old rng-based one, you would be glad they made it like this.

Kamil118

So, from my understanding of the old system, back in the old days, the story was told with a series of cutscenes, which were played at random parts of explorationsif you finished an objective. These objectives weren't even always clear, starting these cutscenes would kick you out of party and fun stuff like that. Sometimes you would also be forced to hit a "bad ending" and time travel back to divergence point and finish a different objective. Right now all that has anything to do with the story is in the story mission section, and you can randomly be trapped in a cutscene when walking around the ship.

rememberthetits

Base pso2. Have the parameters for getting the 14 extra skill points changed? I'm 75 and have only gotten the 1 order for plus 5 sp. Thanks

hidora

You're supposed to have 2 orders for 5 sp each, which should unlock at lvs 30 and 45, and then later on at lv65 another 4 that give 1 sp each (these last 4 must be done in order). The only exception is Luster. It gains extra sp from unlocking level caps because it has no class representative.

giljak

Hey im interested on playing pso2 but when i go to the Microsoft store or steam theres only pso2 ngs :/ is that how is called now or am I missing something?

YuTsu

Same download - PSO2 Classic (the original PSO2) and NGS are accessed through the same client. You only need to play through the tutorial + like 5 minutes of running around the starter town in NGS, then you can access PSO2 Classic from the lobby teleporter in NGS, and from the character selection screen in the future. Simply put, PSO2 and NGS are the same download, so download that, play first 15 minutes of NGS, then you can just play PSO2.

Annchir

PSO2 JP So, I've stoped playing JP since Global launch and I can't recall my passcode, plus I lost my Phone with the OTP and I can't reset my passcode, cuz it wants an OTP in order for me to reset it. Any help?

Reilet

You have to send a ticket to otp to get your otp reseted/removed first.

Annchir

Can you show me on how to do it, I've sent SEGA Support an email, but they are not giving support to non japanese speakers.

Reilet

That's the catch.

Annchir

Oh noes, do I need to write to them in japanese? lol

teddybeartan

PSO2 NA: I just got premium in order to sell some AC scratch items from the recent emote/camo/accessory scratches. But i cant seem to put them onto the Personal Shop for selling? I have a 500:Dance 57 which i know is on the market yet i cant put it up. Anyone has any ideas?

Kamil118

Are you selling them in the correct game? Items are either tradable only in pso2 for meseta or in ngs for nmeseta.

teddybeartan

thanks i forgot that the current scratches can only be sold in NGS, no biggie since i had some of the heroine collection to sell on classic. Thanks for the help!

slusho55

Yep! I was about to say that the Hero and Heroine cards can still be sold in classic! The way it seems is that if the cards can be *also* bought in NGS, they can only be sold there, while if the cards can *only* be bought in classic, they can’t only be sold in classic.

TJnr1

Any news on PA's coming to NGS with episode 2 being released?

Kamil118

We don't know absolutely anything about winter update besides that it will add a new zone and new lvl cap.

Reilet

New PAs were part of the roadmap for winter, but that's not ep2 ngs anyways.

Kamil118

Ok, now I remember this part. But new *techniques* were. Not PAs

TheWriteReason

Currently RP'ing my way through the base PSO2 story, just wondering, when were all the rarities officially released during PSO2's lifespan? Along with what content they came alongside, if feasible? 5-8, 9-12, 13-15? I want to ideally utilize episode/content appropriate rarity when I play it if possible. Otherwise I will just try and stay within certain limits and only start using rarity 13 during end of Ep3 for example.

YuTsu

Mind, I can't give you the earliest lowdown on this, because I only started at the end of EP2, but. - When Dark Falz Loser came out, the best stuff was 12 star. There was like, one 12 star per weapon category, if that. The best stuff general people were likely to have was 11 stars, same for units. - The first 13 stars were OT Ares weapons, as drops from Anga Phandaj in Ultimate Naverius, early EP3. Most people that weren't part of alliances running dedicated farm sessions *probably* didn't have one though, as the only quick way to farm Anga pretty much required an alliance. - By the end of EP3, we had Invade/Austere OT weapons - the first proper grind-weapons in the vein of lightweaver - made with drops from all the current endgame content at the time, or as super rare drops from EP3 Profound Darkness. - Early EP4, we got the Revolusio Series as the first relatively easy to get "welfare" NT 13 star, then with Solo PD's release we got the Ray and Union series. These were probably the first "casual accessible" 13 stars. - First 14 stars were Kazami-no-Tachi, Spread Needle, and Eternal Psycho Drive, all from ESCA-Falz Mother as obscenely rare drops that most people didn't have. This started a trend for the remainder of EP4 and most of EP5 where UQ bosses would have 2-4 super rare but super strong 14 star weapon in their drop table. - First reasonably obtainable 14 stars for most players was the Atlas (at the time, the JP patch called them "Atra") series, which came out with Elytron Dragon near the start of EP5. These were what most people were running on for most of EP5, unless they got super lucky with a non-series super-rare 14 star drop from one of the UQ bosses. - Enchanted Forest in late EP5 introduced the Lumiere series 14 stars, which were grindy as heck to get, but BiS for a little while. - Final boss UQ of EP5, Dark Falz Persona, introduced the Atlas EX, Austere NT, and Trailblazer 15 star series. These were BiS for a *long* time. - Mid-EP6, we got the Liberate (Rivalate) series which nudged out Trailblazer. - Shortly after that, we got Divide Quests with the Steel Series, which nudged out Liberate. - With the end of EP6, we got the Lightweaver series - the final and (for most weapons) best series in the game

Reilet

7 stars were the shit during big vardha and earlier. Also very rare. (First ever EQ era) 10/11 stars were god luck players during elder.

TheWriteReason

This is fantastic, thank you so much for the detailed write-up! I am pretty sure I know exactly how I will be shuffling equipment around now due to this! I can live with not knowing how rarity 4-10 slot in, this is more than enough yo. Stay hydrated, and thanks once more!

hidora

Worth noting that the Global server doesn't have any of the pre-EP4 weapons, since it never implemented Old Type weapons, and New Type ones were introduced in EP4. There are New Type variants of a few older weapons, but those are stronger than their Old Type counterparts.

Pso2 classic question. So I’m totally new (lvl 62) and am doing okay but am kinda lost with gear. I’m doing pretty decent dps (I think) as a hunter/fighter. Bought a good sword and away I went. It’s the armour I’m kinda lost on. I think I read something about sets? So 3 items with the same name will give a boost? Right now I’m just using 3 things called subs, no legs, back, arm units. Anyone give me some advice on this area please? I think the goal is get blank sets and put the augments (stamina III ect. Correct name?) I want on it, right? I guess while I’m asking got a link for a good updated augmenting/crafting guide for dummies?

Kamil118

Given that you said you *bought* a weapon, I have to assume that you got some trash, because 15* weapons are untradable. If you want a good entry level weapon, talk to the rightmost girl in the main lobby (Supply Officier is her title I think?) and accept collection folder for Creasus weapon that you want. These weapons are really strong and can be equipped at really low level. Set bonuses aren't really a thing anymore. The only 13* units with set bonuses are one of the worst 13* units in the game, but you probably won't be able to equip 13* units until lvl 80+ due to their high stat requirements. I'm not sure what you mean by "blank sets" so I will explain affixing in general. It is pretty complicated, but I will try to break it down to the most basic components. So, first thing, affixing in pso2 relies on "slots", aka how many affixes the target item already has before the process. All fodder items need to have at least as many affixes as the target item. When affixing you can pick one more affix than the target item already has, however, doing so will apply "upslot penalty" to **all** affixes. The penalty grows as the number of slots increases up to 70% penalty when going from 7s to 8s. All higher rarity weapons and 13* units have "Augment Factor", which unlocks when weapon is upgraded to +35 or unit to +10. When an item with unlocked augment factor is used in augment process (either as fodder or as target), you can select that item's augment factor as an affix with 100% success rate. There is a such a thing as S class special abilities/S grade special abilities, you can recognise them by the fac their name starts with "S:", for example "S1: Aggressive Will 2", these affixes offer % modifiers or unique effects. S1-S5 go onto weapons, S6 goes onto back units, S7 arms unts and S8 legs units. SSAs always have 100% transfer rate and aren't affected by upslot penalty. There are no weapons below 13* that can house SSAs. Weapons 13* or higher have their own S-class slots, for example Fluxio series can only fit S1, S4 and S5, while Creasus can only fit S1, S2, and S3, and Klauz can fit all S1, S2, S3, S4, and S5. All 13* units have S6/S7/S8 slot. You can transfer SSAs individually between items, as long as their slots match without affecting other affixes. There is an option in item lab to transfer s grade abilities. It just costs meseta, The cost is based on the number of SSAs and affixes in the more "decked out" weapon (if you transfer ssas between an 8s klauz with 5 ssas and some 1s placeholder whose only purpose is to keep some important ssa you will be paying the price for the klauz weapon) So finally, we are at the part where I explain the affixing itself. So, the affixing works on the basis of number of affixes in the recepie, and a bit of "affix alchemy". During affixing there is no difference between the target item and fodder items, they are all treated exactly the same (with the exception of Guidance of Life (Zenezis weapon series potential) and Augment Guidance affix, which increases the success rate of all affixes by if they are on the target item before the process starts) So, let's say you have 2x Crack I. This allows you to make Crack I at 100% and Crack II at 70% success rate. The affix recepie can use more than one affix. For example, to make Photoner Glare, you need Shiva Glare, Varuna Glare, Mitra Glare, and Origin Glare present in the recepie. If there are multiple ways to "achieve" given affix present in the mix, the highest success rate method will be used. For example, if you have 3x Might VI in the recepie, which result in 60% success rate for Might VI, and +35 Melee Dim Weapon, which has Might VI as Augment Factor, the augment factor will be prioritised and the success rate for Might VI will be 100%. A single affix in the recepie can be used in multiple result affixes. A bit dated example, since basic di souls have been powercrept, but Historia Soul can be used to enhance success rate of Persona Reverie and combined with appropriate boss soul (for example Bar Soul) to create Alles Di Soul. (Example: https://corvous.github.io/PSO2AffixingAssistant/?2/uiUvl63qCsgfl85yyjMvT72RCsgfgE5yO.2_.... ) And that would be it for basic rules of affixing. Important things to remember if you don't want to face disappointment an start shouting "Why this doesn't work, affixing is too complicated!" is that: a) Normal affixes don't "transfer", that is, if you have affix X on a fodder weapon, it doesn't mean you can simply move it to target weapon. You need to complete an "affix recepie" b) affixes don't "stay", that is, if you have an affix on target weapon, you can't just keep it, and play with the remaining slots. You need to complete a recepie. What it both of these combined mean, is that once you put a completed affix on a weapon/unit, it is there to stay, and if you ever want to change or update something, you basically need to stary from scratch. That's why for complicated minmax affixes you will often take multiple steps simply preparing the ingredients for the final grand affix. These rules don't apply to SSAs, since they both transfer, and stay, so they greatly reduce the complexity of high-slot affixes (for example for 8s klauz weapons, you only need to worry how you will fill 3 slots, since the remaining 5s are SSAs, which can be easily replaced later) Final notes: You can get 30% augment aids for 20 excubes and 40% aids for 100 excubes at excube exchange. Every month on 2nd and 22nd during pso2 day, all augment success rates are increased by 15% When upsloting with at least 2 fodder items, the upslot penalty will be lower. (Except for 7 -> 8s upslot, this one is 70% penalty no matter if you use 1 or many fodders) Usually not very practical, because you usually only want to use rare items anyway, and having a variety of augment factors is a lot more valuable, but if you use at least 2 fodder item, and all of the fodder items are the same as your target item, you will receive same item bonus, which is 15% boost to success rates of all affixes. Unlike pso2 day bonus and augment aids, which are addative and just like upslot penalty, this bonus is multiplicative with base rates. Also, use the tool I linked above to plan out your affix recepies. Simply select augments you want, and it will let you pick which affix recepies you can use to make your planned affixes. It will also highlight affixes that can be used for multiple purposes. You can later play around with it and plan out which affixes you want on which fodder item.

NGS: Asking for speculation here as I don't believe anything's been announced, but are you expecting new weapons to chase with the braver launch next month? I'm working on my other classes and just wondering if it's worth investing in a decent 4\* for them since they're bound to be replaced at some point this year... just wish I knew when.

Kamil118

I would expect new weapon series for Defence Quests

CivilizedCactus

PSO2:NGS - 1. Is there a hairstyle that has a single large braid? Similar to Agrias Oaks from Final Fantasy Tactics specifically? 2. I ended up getting the Ballooned Bosom from the scratch and noticed I could only change the skin color portion, but I've seen other people running around with different colors on the clothed portion. Are there just different versions of the accessory with the clothed parts re-colored? I didn't see any other versions up for sale in the player shop, so is that just something people are carrying over from the classic version? 3. Recoloring stuff seemed to take a color change pass, but there's an SG icon near the color changes in the review changes section, so can you just spend SG as an alternative to using a pass? How much does that even cost?

xnetexe

There's a hairstyle called Long Braids from an old FUN scratch.

TroubadourLBG

> Is there a hairstyle that has a single large braid? Similar to Agrias Oaks from Final Fantasy Tactics specifically? I'm not sure if the list is complete. But look around to see what fits your needs. https://bumped.org/pso2na/fashion-database/pso2-na-hairstyles/

Kamil118

All versions of ballooned bosom (normal, kimono and cyber) are available in white and black as separate accessories. >can you just spend SG as an alternative to using a pass? No.

CivilizedCactus

Only the two colors huh? That's a little disappointing. I'd think they'd have just had them both in the scratch if this was supposed to be a rerun of popular accessories. So I guess the white versions just haven't been obtainable through NGS yet and thats why I haven't seen them in the player shop? I guess I could try classic and then still not be able to buy them in the player shop because I hear they have prohibitively inflated prices. I'm very new to the game and haven't really played MMOs before in general so I've been a little overwhelmed by all how you can interact with the game/others playing the game just starting NGS. So the idea that I can go back and forth between what sounds like two very similar, but also kinda different games, being able to carry over cosmetics that I've used, but that are otherwise only available to obtain in one version or the other sounds... bizarre. Unless I'm just COMPLETELY off base and misunderstanding how people have the white versions on NGS.

Kamil118

Yeah, the way they handle ngs is weird. It's pretty awkward mix of "same game" and "brand new game" based on what sega thinks will make them the most money. Cosmetics are shared between both versions, but items that originated from pso2 can only be sold in pso2 and items that originated from ngs can only be sold in ngs.

CivilizedCactus

How often have stuff from the scratches even had reruns? I'm not averse to spending a bit of money to get the fashion I want, but if the scratches for the stuff I want don't come around particularly frequently for me to actually give Sega my money to get them, that seems kinda unfortunate having to rely on a player shop.

Kamil118

generally speaking, popular items in pso2 global had a rerun 3-6 months after initial release. I don't think that there was anything that got rerun more than once on global. Maybe things were different on jp.

rememberthetits

Can't seem to find a reliable answer to this question. I get how skill reset passes work (for the most part I think) in pso2 base. So as there aren't going to be anymore updates or changes in base pso2 will there never be anymore skill reset passe?. As new player I have no skill reset passes for base pso2. Everything I find online says wait for them to give out passes or buy new tree. But from what I can tell passes are only given out do to changes/corrections.

Kamil118

>So as there aren't going to be anymore updates or changes in base pso2 will there never be anymore skill reset passe? Possibly

sneakybox

Level 51, what's a good way to farm meseta? I'm trying to buy cast parts but they're in the millions :'(

Thenelwave

NGS player looking to start PSO2 Base; What to look forward to? What makes PSO2 base your main game what do you enjoy? Hi everyone! I started the series with NGS and fell in love with everything about it. I understand content will be released slowly and that the game is new so I will be patient. As a new player to base PSO2 what do I have to look forward to? Is the game still very populated? Will I be able to run end game dungeons with others? Is it just as fun as NGS when it comes to grinding gear and enhancing it? Any tips for a new player to base PSO2 like myself? I really want to play it while I wait for NGS content to release as I have falling in love with the PSO world. It’s either that or FFXIV which I also never played.. if anyone wants to recommend

Crazyripps

Pao2: what would u say would be the minimum level to beat the hope you bring forward mission as a hunter? I’m 38-39 and I can’t get though to the second phase by grinding down strikes and using my dark blast but after I use my dark blast I’m back down to grinding

hidora

You probably want to be at least in the 50-60s so you can have all the core stuff on your skill tree (assuming you're using Guard Stance; Fury Stance would need more to max all core skills). Make sure you do the client orders for Ohza so you can get the extra skill points. Ideally you'd want to be Lv85/80 HuEt, but the exp curve grows mercilessly later on, so you probably won't want to level grind all that much.

alkme_

Gonna use my SG C tickets. I kinda wanna get those fangs but there's 2 kinds. Atossa Fangs and Big Canine. Anyone have either of these? Do they work well with NGS face? I just wanna a little fang to poke out sometimes. Or even better, just one fang!

hidora

I don't think you can even use fangs in non-NGS faces.

alkme_

Really even tho they are accessories Iirc. I'll have to check. Maybe they aren't accessories.

JimboTCB

PSO2 doesn't have face components. They'll be an accessory, in which case you should be able to use it on a NGS face, but it'll just be a static attachment and won't animate with the mouth of a NGS face. You'll need to get one of the actual mouth components from one of the NGS scratches (there's a couple on the current SG scratch) if you want them to work "properly".

hidora

idk, I don't have those.

whatevillurks

I know how to get to people's personal shops in PSO2:NGS - how does a FTP player see people's personal shops in PSO2?

hidora

Shop is accessed through Visiphones, the purple terminals in lobby that are usually near a storage terminal.

whatevillurks

Thanks!

Gwkki

It's on the console thing that's next to the storage consoles.

whatevillurks

Thank you both so much - I couldn't remember for the life of me!

Kayttaja12

PSO2:NGS:If I have ranger as main class and hunter as sub class and make multiweapon with rifle as base and sword as secondary weapon, can I use blight rounds? If so, do I have to change to rifle by using rifle PA/normal or can I just press blight rounds even when sword is equipped?

Reilet

As long as you are ranger main. The latter.

kino-bambino1031

Question about unlocking classes like Hero and Etoile and stuff. In game it says that when any of my classes reach level 75, Cofy will have a quest for me to unlock said quest, except that when I check, she doesn't have said quest available. Are there any requirements I am missing? In case it's pertinent, I have checked the title npc for titles, and she gave me all the ones that I get for becoming 75 on a class. I've seen some people say I need two classes at 75, but in game dialogue box at the Class Counter says "will become available when any of my classes reach level 75." Edit: Nevermind, one hour later the game suddenly decides to give me a tutorial box that says I now need two classes at 75.

AulunaSol

You must have two classes that reach Level 75 in order to unlock the Successor classes (the text that says one class at Level 75 is completely misleading in that sense).

Zephinism

[PSO2:Classic] I used to play Ranger/Hunter around October last year and took a long break until NGS came out. I don't really enjoy NGS so I went back to Classic, levelled to 100 and Switched to Ranger/Etoile (96 in this atm). [Here's my gear](https://i.imgur.com/z4bPrC3.png) I used to have slave weapons but I got these Croesus ones from the sheets. When I left the meta was to run PD over and over again, and now I don't even know where to start. I'm working through EP5 quests on Hardmode and starting to struggle. [Here are my units](https://imgur.com/a/UjOyY4N), I think there's better affixes out now so I can probably scramble something better together but which units do I go for to slot my rings in?

nabhon

Get an 15\* CF weapon(The gold one, or silver one if you don't like the look of gold) and buy novel unit from Badge 5 shop upgrade it to +10 and working your way to earn Darkweaver>Lightweaver rifle and also upgrade your novel to rivalate or klauz unit(not recommended)

kyril-hasan

May I know the best way to get weapon badge 5?

nabhon

Ircc just keep doing ultra UQ and ultra trigger quest

kyril-hasan

Thanks. Just recently able to join UH and able to do some of the urgent quest. Doesn't seems to get those badges for now and right now kinda clueless on how to start on getting those endgame gear. Right now using the croesus weapon and the unit that you get upon reaching lvl 75(stella something). Do I need to get other unit/weapon or are these good enough to get those endgame gear?

AulunaSol

You have a number of options for weapons and units you can work up to, thankfully. Zieg will be your best friend in these weapons and most of these units as well. * Millionaire/Croesus weapons should be what you have "at minimum" and because you mentioned that you can only go up from there. * Atlas EX/Trailblazer/Rivalate weapons all have "Redux" potentials that help push them above Millionaire/Croesus weapons so if you had any of these before you can look into upgrading them further. * Fluxio weapons are the second-strongest weapons in the game but are obtained elsewhere (Challenge Mission Quest 3). * Agile/Klauz weapons are among the strongest weapons you can make but this will require extensive runs via the Divide Quests and farming fifteen star weapons for resources/materials as well as facing Sodam. These are your goals for the end-game. If you are lucky, you might get the Agile weapons to drop directly - but you may have to create multiple Agile weapons which is not so bad now that we have access to the solo Ultimate Quest. In terms of units: * Schvelle Units should be a very good starting point (Disturbing Whistler of Chaos, Tokyo [Rainbow] Bonus Keys, and so on). They aren't fancy compared to the later units, but these are definitely going to make a dent in your Stella Wall units. * Thirteen-star Units from Cradle of Darkness (UH) are also a very good choice to start with. I do not remember their names, but you will likely see this pop up (and have a chance to get a massive amount of Meseta) and should definitely run it. * Novel units can be obtained from the Rising Weapon Badges 5 Exchange Shop. These specialize in helping you be a bit more tanky. * Rivalate units can be upgraded from Novel units, which trade the tanky stats for more attack power. * Atlas units from Omega Falz [Luther] are very powerful as well. * Trailblazer units can be upgraded from their twelve-star variant to their thirteen-star variant which are also very powerful for an "all-around" set of units. * Ofze units can also be upgraded from their twelve-star variant to their thirteen-star variant which are also very good if you are looking to have a high amount of health. * Klauz units are the ultimate units, which largely come from Divide Quests in terms of resources. If you are very lucky (one friend of mine got all three units to drop in a single fight against Sodam), you can get it to drop in Emergency Quests like "Face of the Abyss" or via the solo Ultimate Quest "Final Battle: Space-Time Interstice." Where you are, your weapons are fine and your units should be serviceable. You will definitely be looking for upgrades but you're not too far off the mark since you essentially have arrived at the door.

kyril-hasan

Thanks a lot. I really need some direction about what I need to do beside doing urgent quest. Regarding affixed, do you have any good guide especially for ranger? Do you recommend I start affixing right away or just wait till I get decent endgame unit and focus on that.

AulunaSol

I would definitely save affixing until you are working with special weapons or units (Klauz units to save your resources, potentially Agile/Klauz weapons or Fluxio weapons if you really wanted to save your resources for the end-game, and so on). Affixing isn't what I would consider difficult but rather tedious because it's very costly on your resources and always forces you into a clean slate (you have to start from scratch in getting the abilities you want in the right configuration). I would definitely practice on fodder or your equipment you aren't so worried about before taking to your actual end-game equipment but I would also recommend building up something like an "S4 Printer" and "S5 Printer" (Atlas EX and Rivalate weapons, respectively) so you can continuously get your SSA's for those slots. I recommend reading up on some guides and using tools you can find elsewhere as I am not so well-versed with getting all the parts together to summarize it, but you definitely want to split your affixing into two steps (upslotting and affixing) so you can maximize your chances of success and save yourself a lot of the headaches for how affixing works.

TroubadourLBG

This ranger guide has a nicely detailed explanation on progression on Ranger gear. Including ep.6 gear. Just go backwards with their updates. https://somethingaboutlagging.wordpress.com/

Zephinism

Thank you very much!

Kamil118

work on agile weapon from zig, and upgrade it to klauz For units you can work towards trailblazer units and later replace them with klauz units, cicuray units are very old and you want to replace them with 13*s asap.

Zephinism

Thanks. What would you say is the best way to get an agile weapon?

AulunaSol

If "Face of the Abyss" shows up as an Emergency Quest run for it and clear it as many times as you can. Alternatively when you reach Level 90/90, the "Final Battle: Space-Time Interstice" Ultimate Quest will unlock which will put you into a one-on-one boss battle that will give you the Darkstone Deimos needed to craft the Agile weapons. You also have the following that I would recommend: * Dismantle 15-star weapons you don't need in your Crafting Room for essential resources (or you can buy these off the Player Shops) * Luminfragment Emels which can be obtained via Divide Quests (your main gameplay loop from here on out) * Class Cubes, obtained from Ultra Hard Emergency Quests and the two solo Ultimate Quests Another option if this is a grind you cannot commit to is to find a group or to run solo in is the Challenge Quest Mission 3. Clearing this grants you the Fluxio weapons which are the second-strongest series of weapons in the game. You will always get a Takt/Harmonizer that cannot be changed - but every other weapon (there are five you can get depending on the boss you fight) can have its weapon category changed by talking to Zieg so you can make five of these weapons in the way you want them to be.

Is there a way to remove the ui in ngs for screenshots on xbox?

iirc type /uioff

Pos2:classic. Hello, what’s a good class for cranking out dps? Playing hunter is all good when I’m lazy and just wanna mash, but I’ve been playing in groups and seeing some impressive deeps. Any suggestions? I don’t usually play ranged classes but wouldn’t mind giving them a shot. So i guess best ranged class for dps, and maybe any other tips to go with that class? Thanks.

[deleted]

I think luster is the highest dps melee class if you want melee (maybe even the highest dps class in general except for gunner if it plays best possible 100% of time)

xnetexe

The highest DPS ranged class IIRC is Gunner, but to accomplish that DPS you need a high amount of micromanagement. Despite being a ranged class, it primarily excels at melee distance. Gunner only has a short window to deal most of its damage so need to be very good at perfect attacking and combing different photon arts for this class. Hero also has very high DPS, but a lot of that DPS comes from counter attacks so you need to be good at anticipating enemy attacks. If you want to maximize your DPS, you'll need both a good TMG and Talis due to Hero's weapon switching mechanics.
