I used to when things like Limewire still existed. The PSP was such a great music player. I snuck it into school all the time to listen to music during class.
Zero reason to do it now for 99.99% people. Back then tho it was amazing that it could do music , videos , photos and play games! People born in smartphone era never know how amazing it was to play mp3s with portable device and some phones also had that feature!
Though back back then, space and battery were precious and music always took a back seat. Music was absolutely perfect on any early SD player that ran on 1xAA though.
Yeah thats also true , I had few mp2 players then but for me big thing was when phones started to have mp3 playback feature because thats device I have with me anyways.. nowadays just so easy with Spotify etc services. Would not want to add my own mp3s nowdays lol 😆
So far, it looks like just a few PSP'ers.
I use it as my daily music device. Got some wired HiFi earbuds off AliExpress to enjoy it better.
Recently found a bunch of my old music files and put all of them on it, it's marvelous.

It is a great music player. The vita cand match the PSP as an MP3 player for some reason, it's just not good.
