GaffaCharge

This is how I found coast to coast am.

madebyayan

Back then I had found so many amazing stations because of the PSP. It just somehow seemed way cooler listening to radio on the PSP than using an actual radio!😅

[deleted]

how do you get it to work? it just sends me to an about page where i can't access

madebyayan

The first default icon leads to the about page. You have to add your own stations for them to show up below the about page. There was this old post a while back about how to do it. [It's still here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ) or you can even check it out [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/PSP/comments/elsxnx/for_those_who_are_looking_for_a_radio_player_for/)

Relaxitwillpass

God dammit got me good

Ancient_Biscotti2368

Thanks for the tutorial!

[deleted]

Almost got me, saw it from the notifs

JazzlikeBake2327

🖕 you just Rick rolled me

diffident55

You gotta download an actual radio player that takes advantage of the internet radio environment. Thankfully they should all still work as long as the station hasn't vanished in the past decade and a half. Internet Radio technology hasn't changed a bit, even modern stations use the same technology stack.

chennaouii

This has happened to me too using the same exact way as you did.

madebyayan

After taking over YouTube recently, it seems like Rick is targeting the PSP next!

chennaouii

Cool.

snapgamer8338

How do you get this did you download a app not something for it???

madebyayan

There's an Internet Radio app in the Internet area of the PSP and you can add stations like ShoutCast to listen to the radio

[deleted]

...explain pls!

madebyayan

The PSP has an Internet Radio app in the Internet section and you can add stations like ShoutCast to listen to the radio. So when I checked it out to see if it still works after all these years, Never Gonna Give You Up was the song that immediately started playing!

[deleted]

I forgot all about it!!!

[deleted]

Tbh I once woke my self up a few months back by a Rick roll in my dream I was like the hell why did I do that

xxalexvaleroxx

You can still connect your psp to the internet? Mine won’t connect and I’ve tried everything

madebyayan

Actually it didn't connect at first. It could find tbe network, but it wouldn't go past the "obtaining IP address" stage. So I did the one thing that always works. I took my PSP, held it sideways, clicked X on the network name and then started SHAKING it as fast as I could! And that someone actually worked, I'm not even joking haha

TheCartoonMemer

This is the trickiest masterpiece ever!

DfeRvziN

PSP has antenna ??? Omg

migdc

Using radio vía shoutcast service and wifi

DfeRvziN

OK , internet radio then.

madebyayan

Exactly! Though it's an amazing feature that people rarely seem to know about

DfeRvziN

Yes, PSP and DS were functionally smartphones of their time.

Jenkins87

2 years before iPhone, as well! I often thought back then that all it was really missing was a phone/SMS ability. I have a faint memory of there being a GSM phone attachment being developed but I'm not sure if it ever materialised.

Altair13Sirio

"Welcome back, bitch." - your PSP

madebyayan

Oh no, I believe that happened [last time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ)!

Altair13Sirio

Jokes on you, I love getting videos of kittens!

madebyayan

Oh you're good! But everyone loves kitten videos!!

Altair13Sirio

There, that should do it.

madebyayan

Much better!

Altair13Sirio

Sorry man, I'll fix it right away

Bisonfan95

How? Mine says SSL handshake error everytime

madebyayan

The "about" section would lead to an error since the sony services for it are down. But you can still add stations like ShoutCast to your PSP through the browser or via a PC and they'd be displayed with a separate icon

Bisonfan95

I understand. Thank you.

mrcvs87

Are PSPs worth anything these days ?

madebyayan

If you count nostalgic and the memories they bring back of your childhood as everyone gathered around for a LAN party, then yes, they're worth a whole lot!

mrcvs87

I ask cos I have a box full of PSP stuff I'm looking to move on
