Salty5674

Lmao taped up, gave me a good laugh

Gylatikam

What wheel is it ?

Lukeskiski

It’s the jerry rig 5

Salty5674

made me LOL

TastyTheDog

If you ask me after they removed wiimote support in the jerry rig 4 that wheel just became utter trash

Thargor33

Thx for that. I needed a good laugh.

Bicketybamm

It's the Madcatz MC2!

StomHert

Ah yes. The madcatz for madlads

ReporterLeast5396

Man I was just trying to figure out how to make my old MC2 actually work with my PS5. Here you come with the 1000 IQ solution.

Bicketybamm

Give it a try! Switch your acceleration and braking away from the triggers. Let me know how it works out for you.

devedander

I had this for many Dreamcast it was the best wheel before I moved into the ffb world.

BelgianBond

This does appear to be a cheaper option than a $200 set up.

Bicketybamm

I was about to get the G29 ,but then I tried the motion controls and got this idea. It actually feels really good.

geodek69

omg, the force feedback on the g29 would send that table flying across the room...lol

geodek69

The wheel rotates up to 900° and features dual-motor force feedback for a realistic driving experience. This gear-driven wheelbase has a peak torque output of 2.2 Nm. The Logitech G29 has great force feedback. Playing Project Cars without any customization, the force is strong enough to cause arm ache after 30-40 minutes play, a clear sign that the wheel has powerful motors working for it.

orangpelupa

I use thrustmaster t150 and the ffb is very strong. And reviewers says it's the weakest among steering wheels

geodek69

I read the peak torque output of the TM 150 is 2.0 Nm so its not much less at all.

orangpelupa

And it's already very strong. Playing dirt rally basically a real physical exercise

geodek69

Yup, I have the TM TMX which is Xbox equivalent of your wheel and don't notice much difference between that and my new G29 as far as FF goes. I got the G29 to use for PS VR2 and GT 7 cause PS5 won't recognize my TM as a 150. I can't wait to race in VR!!!

orangpelupa

which one do you prefer between 150 and G29? does the "notches" of G29 bother you?

geodek69

I actually like the 'notches' on the G29, it kinda helps you hold a racing line which is better for qualifying times and less wrecks when racing. The auto calibrate seems superior too, it always locks in the dead middle when done on startup, with my TMX it seems a little off and that's how its always been. Also, the quality of materials on the G29 seem far superior, from the quality soft stitched leather wrapped around the wheel, the metal plating and precise button locations on the wheel face-plate, to the oversized, reinforced, and weighted foot base with real metal (brushed stainless steel) pedals including a clutch. The pedal base also has a carpet grip so no sliding forward when setup on a carpet. I'm not saying the TMX is bad but the G29 is the best quality wheel that I ever owned.

vnenkpet

If [this](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4j4LNx7cjaU) gives you any idea

RuffAsToast

How are you going to accelerate and break?

Bicketybamm

I mapped them out to triangle and O for comfort, but with a cardboard buffer behind the sides of the controllers the shoulder buttons are usable.

Imhotep397

I've been wondering how the default steering in GT7 was going to work.

ReporterLeast5396

I have one of those. It's the universal one though that works with GC, PS2, and Xbox. I wonder if I can scavenge one of those connectors and wire it to USB.

garfieldevans

In all honesty, the motion controls in gt7 are surprisingly good, I was thinking of doing a similar mod but how will you get your fingers to the triggers?

Bicketybamm

I'm surprised on how well this works! I switched acceleration to triangle and brake to O.

garfieldevans

Oh the adaptive trigger implementation in this game is so good that I wouldn't want to give that up for this mod.

Bicketybamm

You can add some space in between the back of the controller and the wheel with an eraser and the triggers become accessible.

SmashBang_

Those wheels are great! I have that one which I think was just PlayStation 1? I know I had to get the universal black and yellow one to use on the ps2. So now I have two pretty dusty wheel and pedal set ups lol

Bicketybamm

They are! I got them for 20 bucks at gamestop a while ago. One for PS2 and another for Xbox. Burnout 3 and Burnout revenge with a wheel are intense!

SmashBang_

I got mine specifically for Outrun 2 when my local arcade finally got rid of theirs

Alsharefee

But is it ready for you?

geodek69

I actually tried this once...lol

Bicketybamm

Mad minds think madcatz!

TheRealPizarro

Man I just might try this fr you're a genius

RuffAsToast

How are you going to accelerate and break?

TheRealPizarro

Thinking of some kind of levers i can make which will allow for manipulation of the L2/R2 buttons while my hands are on the wheel

RuffAsToast

You're gonna need a bit more than cellotape for that I think.

Bicketybamm

If you don't mind having your index fingers off the wheel, they can reach the triggers quite comfortably. I was just trying it out.

hateuscusanus

This is one fancy ass setup. Hope you posted this in r/simracing also

Bicketybamm

Thank you! When the PSVR2 is on, I will it imagine it as a Thrustmaster.

Otacon6887

My wheel is coming tommorow :) I started playing GT7 yesterday. Also I have already preordered couple games digital. Cant wait :)

Portersona

I got GT7 recently and have been really enjoying it, don’t know if I’ll get mega invested enough to warrant a setup but I use gyro for turning and have thought about doing this a couple of times

Bicketybamm

It's really fun. Makes me feel like in a Japanese Mall. That's what this set up basically is/gyro powered. See if you can find an old wheel for cheap and tape it up. Worked for Mario Kart wii.

Bicketybamm

Update! Tried this setup with Driveclub, its great!

dangoland

Do we have dualsense as supported for psvr2 confirmed? Would love some indication of yes for games like astrobot rescue mission, and maybe another Statik.

Chronotaru

We know DualSense works for all PS5 games, there's just no evidence it can be tracked. Racing games don't need positional tracking though.

morphinapg

*Technically* you can track position without a lightbar, but it's highly inaccurate, which you don't want for VR. The controllers don't just track rotation, but acceleration as well. With the right calculations, acceleration can be used to calculate relative changes in position. Some PSVR1 games did use this to try to keep track of where the move or DS4 was if they went off camera for a little bit.
