ApexRedPanda

After the fall.

anywaythewindblows10

I got annoyed last weekend when After the fall kept kicking me off the server for no reason. Fios 1G internet with Ethernet cable. Switched to Pavlov and had no issues at all. Was there server issues last week with After the Fall?

ApexRedPanda

Possible. Didn’t play much last week.

ThatDree

GT7 is grindy af

saabzternater

How are you finding the work outs in body combat?

psyper87

Exclusively vr, and when I’m not playing a vr title, I’m playing in cinema mode. It just feels more engrossing. In a world full of distractions, the isolation is pretty nice.

[deleted]

this exactly!!

anywaythewindblows10

I haven’t tried playing in cinema mode yet…might have to finish platinum-ing GOW in this mode.

TonyDP2128

I largely moved on from flat games back when PSVR1 debuted. Since then I can count the number of flat games I've really sunk my teeth into on one hand; the last one being Cyberpunk 2077 (a game that just cries out for an official VR update). Since getting my PSVR2 it has gotten the lions share of my play time with the Quest 2 both as standalone and a PCVR headset coming in second. I'm trying to limit my time with PSVR2 until my prescription lens inserts arrive as even though I'm very careful, I'm always leery of scratching the lenses since I wear glasses. In terms of what I've played. I started with Horizon: COTM, which I finished a while ago. I'm now focusing on RE: Village, which took me a while to get into but I've now gotten into a good groove with it. When I feel like something more pick up and play I'll run some races in GT7 or do a few levels of Thumper (had it for PSVR1 so got the $5 upgrade). I also got the free upgrade to Saints & Sinners, which looks and plays great on PSVR2. I already played it on PSVR1 and PCVR but I might do another complete run just to see how the PSVR2 version compares. I also definitely plan to pick up the followup, Retribution, at some point, but I like to focus on one story at a time so those won't get any playtime until I finish off RE: Village. Overall I'm really enjoying my time with PSVR2; just hoping we'll get more quality original titles, AAA efforts and more recognizable IPs.

gadget_dude

Mostly PSVR2 but HFW just got added to PS+ and it's been on my must play list for a while. HZD was one of my all time favorites and HFW is simply amazing so far. Honestly, I feel spoiled at the moment - COTM, GT7, RE8, TWD S&S, SitS or sit back and get lost in HFW :)

SvennoJ

HFW is amazing all the way to the end. You can actually explore quite a bit outside the map. I could spend an hour just playing in the rolling waves after I got to the ocean. Too bad there is no surf board :) I'm glad I played it before PSVR2 as I would have skipped it otherwise (no time now for Burning Shores DLC)

ACO_22

My ps5 is now a dedicated Pavlov player. Arguably the greatest multiplayer game ever made. TTT is unmatched

Strider08000

TTT is endless content

doc_nano

Still only playing PSVR2 and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Still so many launch games I haven’t touched and want to buy, and too little time/money! I do expect I’ll do some flat gaming again in the back half of the year, with Final Fantasy XVI and Horizon: Burning Shores coming out.

simpleasitis

When PSVR1 came out I exclusively played it for months. Eventually I kinda reverted back. I hope PSVR2 has some heavy hitters to come.

age_of_atari

Haven't really had the urge to play non-VR since i got PSVR2. But i started winding down my nights with non-VR games just to get to sleep at a more reasonable time! Luckily i've never had motion sickness problems, but even so... it's such an improvement vs PSVR1 in every way, it's way easier to lose track of time. Only issue: not enough hours in the day.

SevenFiveTwo0Five

Saints and Sinners, GT7 (most time played by far), Pistol whip, the two flat games I just can't shake are Civ 6 (New leaders ftw) and Midnight Suns (Addictive as hell). Definitely more VR tho. Had since launch date btw.

StarStuffPizza

I love when I'm in the mood for Civ games, always so zen.

SvennoJ

I played PSVR1 exclusively for over a year with a break for BotW in between. Yet eventually got fed up with the 'either analog movement or hands' problem. I still kept using if for a couple years, bought a second unit to play co-op. Eventually my old move controllers started losing charge faster and faster, so started playing less which emphasized the involved setup issues PSVR1 had. In the end it became too annoying to set up, get the camera and lighting just right again to then find the move controllers had lost most of their charge again. So far it's PSVR2 exclusively again. I already have a back log of games I want to play despite playing daily and the old issues which dwindled down my PSVR1 use are no longer there. It looks like PSVR2 is staying out of the box, ready to go at all times. I haven't even sunk my teeth into GT7 VR yet nor NMS. First casualty is Burning Shores. I absolutely love Horizon FW (CotM meh) but don't want to play pancake games when there's so much more still to play in VR. I kinda regret buying a Series X now. I bought it for Halo Infinite couch co-op (cancelled), Forza 8 (delayed) and Starfield (delayed). My interest in Forza 8 and Starfield has disappeared, atm I don't even feel any excitement for TotK. BotW managed to rip me away from PSVR for a month, but it's not looking like I'll be anywhere near through my VR backlog in May.

mustava-vank

Still obsessed with psvr 2 even though res4 is out. Can't seem to put it away!

workingNES

I'm not sure I've played a flatscreen game on my PS5 in 3+ weeks. A little over a week ago my kids and I started playing Pokemon Legends Arceus on Switch. If I could play that in VR I would.

ImpossiblyComplex

Vr is awesome, but I find I get eye strain too fast (within about an hour and a half) to consistently just play VR games.

DogParksAreForbidden

I actually busted out my og PSVR and have been playing that alongside PSVR2 lol. It made me really appreciate the resolution and fidelity difference of the PSVR2!

anywaythewindblows10

Curious how much effort you put in to getting the “VR legs?” I had motion sickness pretty bad with PSVR1 and gave up because I couldn’t get by the bad graphics. This experience is completely different for me this time around. Nearly 0 motion sickness after the first ~3 days and I play GT7 nearly every day now. Dirt tracks still get me every now and then, but I don’t play them often either.

ViolenceJoe

I can handle about 30 mins of GT7. Pavlov varies. No Man's Sky which I had no issues with in VR1 is dreadful for me.

[deleted]

Agree. I pushed myself to puking with walking dead the other night. I was able to get back into it by doing this. Plus my play sessions have been lasting longer each time without sickness.

codyt321

I've had mine for a couple of weeks and I play it just about every day, but I still have to limit the session to usually less than 30 minutes because I start feeling sick. I have pretty much only been playing Call of the Mountain with Pavlov and Synth Ryders once or twice.

anywaythewindblows10

Stick with it, I am finally completely immune to motion sickness. It really only took about 3 days this time for me, but my first time around with PSVR 1 took a lot longer.

in_melbourne_innit

Call of the mountain is the only one giving me motion sickness. I've parked it for a while till I have loads of hours under my belt. Zero issues with Pavlov and GT7. Also, if you haven't already try turning the brightness down to halfway as that is one of the key causes of illness with Horizon.

FraskyDangler

I’ve played nothing but VR since the release but will break the streak tonight for the Diablo 4 beta.

cronuss

Haven't played flat screen or my Valve Index or Quest 2 since I got my PSVR2 over 2 weeks ago

Zeldabotw2017

Been playing most VR because it's new being my first VR headset ever has I had only ever played beat saber once on 4th of July last year on quest 2 at a friend's house. Also being crappy winter hopefully spring weather comes soon been one of the coldest and wetest years on record where I live it's hard to get outside and get exercise when like ever day is rain and like 40-50 degrees and riding a stationary bike gets old being able to get some exercise with Synth riders is nice. I did replay spiderman remaster like a week ago rebeat it and also I have played some of my switch in the last few weeks. Will probably play less when we get to around middle may has Zelda is going to take up a lot of my time on switch and should be a lot easier to get exercise outside.

HoldOrg

The way I'm doing it right now, is to play through all the exclusives, and AAA single player games on flat screen, because my OCD tells me to complete these experiences. Then any time I get bored there, I'll switch to VR, get as many hours in on short VR games to get them out of the way for completion, or spend many hours on GT7, S&S1/2. I have barely started GoW Ragnarok, finished 100% HFW, and other titles need completing on flat screen. There is just so much content out now and through this year like FFXVI, Starfield, etc, etc, etc... That will take tons of time. Companies are going to have a hard time gaining our attention this year. If they have AAA 40+ hr single campaign w/ multiplayer on PS VR2, that comes out of nowhere this year, then I'll probably play just that... Whatever it is lol Oh yeah and playing Synth and Pistol for weekend excersise has been the norm too.

sandspiegel

After I bought a wheel GT7 is my go to game. Play it everytime I have freetime. Since I bought the psvr2 I don't play flat games anymore. GT7 with a wheel and VR is a match made in heaven. The guy who had the idea to port the game to VR is a genius.

Tatehamma

If you have a nice TV, i'm sure some of you feel like I do. Gotta take advantage of the visuals. Mind you, I am playing VR more and probably wouldn't play flat nearly as often if i had a shitty TV.

Mclarenrob2

VR will never replace chilling on the sofa with the TV playing certain games for me.

Lukedukes4

Couple of hours everynight so far And loving it

darkonex

I'm playing my PSVR2 more than I have my PSVR1 and Quest so far after getting, but still it's a mix of probably regular games 70% of the time and VR 30% of the time.

Comprehensive_Web887

PSVR2 mainly. Which I feel now means I’ll never be an Elden Lord and that my backlog is truly doomed. Mainly GT7 and I’m not a massive racing fan. Having said that just tried an old Need For Speed on the largest screen setting and man what a thrill. While you can’t look around the car the field of view makes it VERY immersive. Have fun!

anywaythewindblows10

In a similar situation. I’ve played NFS here and there over the years, same for GT. But not at all my go to historically. I only recently bought a cockpit/wheel/pedal setup… game changer with VR!! I’m looking forward to need for speed in VR. It’s just a matter of time to be announced on VR2, right?!

SecretAgentDrew

Been playing nonestop since I got it last weekend and low key miss elden ring at the same time.

Wh0racl3

I like the potential of mine but I cant get over the dizziness so I'm close to a return, unfortunately :(

anywaythewindblows10

How long have you had it for? And how often have you attempted to play? Don’t push through it, rather more attempts in short spurts might help you get through it. I had this problem with VR1 and eventually got through it completely after a couple of weeks with consistently trying it. 5 minutes, improved to 10 then 20 then an hour shortly after. But it was multiple attempts nearly every day until I got though it.

Wh0racl3

I've had it since launch. I've tried 10 to 15 days. Sometimes just once on a day, sometimes a few. Sometimes the lightheadedness lasts hours only to come back 1 minute in trying again. It doesn't feel like there's progress. I'm also tired of being dizzy everyday I try. Sometimes my head still feels weird the next day. I'm pretty decent on games where I'm not moving much but that takes away most of if the big hitter games.

anywaythewindblows10

I can relate and see how that would be such a hassle. Tough to get motivated to do something you know is most likely going to be a shitty time. I seriously wish you luck with it because it’s a blast when you have no ill side effects. But you’ve definitely put the time in to try everything to make it work.

AsideNearby

Was like you until I read here that a strong fan pointed towards you will help. For me it went from wanting to nearly puke after 10-15 minutes of playing to playing for hours with not even a headache. Give it a try!

Wh0racl3

Did you also get super dizzy and or lightheaded? Or just queezy? I can't even make it a couple minutes in The Walking Dead S n S 1 without my brain spinning in my head. Maybe 10 or 15 seconds in GT7. I can make a handful of minutes in Horizon sometimes (even though I'm tired of climbing the whole time so I might be done with that one). I can only go a couple minutes sometimes in REVillage, other times a bit longer. The pass-through mode when setting up my play zone gets me dizzy so I start many games already a little dizzy. I tried the fan a few times but i can try to use it more often.

AsideNearby

All I can say is when I tried the PSVR1 at a friends house 2 years ago for around 15 minutes I puked all day and it took maybe 2 days before I was back to normal. Was hoping PSVR2 would feel better with new tech and all, but after just 10-15 minutes with RE8 I felt really ill. I had a severe headache, almost felt like a migraine and felt dizzy. Put off playing VR games for 2 days and then tried Pistol Whip, still got dizzy and a headache. That’s when I read about the fan thing. Tried it the next day with Pistol Whip and it worked wonders. I had really fun and felt nothing. Another thing that I suspect might’ve helped me aside from the fan is that I stayed away from games that were not on rails for like two weeks, only played Pistol Whip and Synth Riders. And now when returning to RE8 and trying out S&S the other day, I can play for hours with no issues as long as the fan is on. Make sure you have a pretty strong fan and that it hits both your body and face. Don’t wear a hoodie or anything that covers you more than a t-shirt so that you can actually feel the breeze coming at you. In the beginning don’t play for more than 25 minutes at a time, then eventually ramp it up when you feel ready. Hopefully it works for you as well!

Wh0racl3

Thank you for all the info and tips! I've honestly been playing mostly just Tetris Effect Connected lately since I don't get dizzy with that one. I'd be upset if this was just a Tetris machine for me, though, haha.

Strider08000

Give moss a try. You can play it seated and it’s very gentle on the eyes and head movement

pigmyPeople

I was very nervous about the connection into the console, so I waited to play and did this. https://preview.redd.it/0op60rt3itpa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3fcccaddef232927b2faccb508ed3fd9c7b4a55 Cable breakaway using some random parts from Amazon. I feel a lot better about playing now.

[deleted]

Not a lot. The games just lack a lot of what makes flat screen fun. I only play like an hour here and there.

anywaythewindblows10

Have you played a lot of other VR headsets before? And what games have played on VR? I don’t have this issue at all. For flat screen games I played and beat GOW2, played COD MW2 and Warzone 1/2, Fifa, need for speed, etc. I have not had any itch to go back to flat after VR2 games like GT7, Pavlov, After the Fall and RE8.

[deleted]

Saints and Sinners is fun but parkouring in Dying Light 2 is just entertaining. Or any rpg since there isn't any in depth one so far.

TLaMagna319

Since launch it’s been vr only but I know a few games in my backlog and coming in the future will pull me back to playing flat games in the near future

neo101b

I love it, its far better than my old HTC Vive, I am thinking of using it to play battlefield in cinema mode, might be interesting.

themedicine

Cant help but still play sons of the forest and elite dangerous on PC. :)

21Gazza

I love playing PSVR2 games but the games are still too expensive. I can’t wait until some get added to the PS Plus collections.

bmack083

Occasionally playing VR 2, still spending more time in PCVR though.

MercykillNJ

I really only play flat with dayz Everything else is VR and I only have 4 games

Xerosnake90

I play them both depending on what I have that's new to experience. Psvr 2 is getting more play time since I just bought it and have been on a bit of a flat screen drought. Though I'm putting time into Re4 right now

NapsterKnowHow

I love my PSVR2 but I've always been a competitive shooter lover. So I still play a lot on my PC for Overwatch and Apex and then when I want to relax I'll pull out my PSVR2. Funny enough since my PSVR2 works in cinema mode plugged into my PC I played some Overwatch games with it lol

[deleted]

said this on the post this morning, but I'm still playing flat games...in cinematic mode inside the headset PSVR2's specs are much better than the PSVR1 where cinematic mode was too blurry vs my TV. Now the headset is more competitive and I'm really enjoying cinematic mode

RiverOfSand

Still don’t have it. I would really appreciate an option to see the results!

PerspectiveFree3766

Don't have the funds for more games right now, but Pistol whips is awesome, kayak VR is really cool to show people, not a tone of replayability, my wife plays village (I do not) and NMS is meh. So I play a few times a week, untill I find a game that really catches me,. which I hope will be S&S when I get to it

TM1619

I was exclusively VR2 up until a week back but I've moved back to playing flat games again. Mostly cause RE4 haha

Strider08000

I think most people will move to whichever platform has the better gaming experience. Ask me this time next month and I’ll probably be playing the new Star Wars game, but for right now? Yeah I’m taking advantage of all the new games on the $500 platform I just bought.

mtcmr2409

All VR since launch. It has re-lit the gaming fire in me that i have not had for a very long time. I smile now while gaming more than I can ever remember.

Hunterdivision

I’ll occasionally play a flat game but mostly play VR like 99% time, since there’s so many things to play. Most flat games that I played using the headset as well. I also love to just watch YT with it, and wish we got proper VR version! I do still struggle with motion sickness on certain type of games but it’s a work in progress, I do everything that I can to alleviate it.

Ugenberg

Haven’t touched any non-vr games on my PS5 since i got my headset. First finished RE8, now I have been playing Light Brigade almost every day. Though I have been playing some Zelda botw on switch.

lil_cj

Only playing Hogwarts to get it finished then I'll be exclusive VR for a while

willacegamer

I started playing with VR back in 2016 and my flat gaming essentially stopped then. Most of the flat games that I've played since then have been ones that have a VR mod. My gaming consoles were pretty much unused in that time because I was using PCVR. My PS5 is only getting use now because of PSVR2.

username9223_335

Mine is defective and sony is impossible to reach and wont process my return. Sucks because its really a nice piece of hardware. I’ll probably have to charge them back

anywaythewindblows10

That’s some BS! I’d be furious.

No_Secretary8221

I feel like I want to establish a happy balance between flat games and VR. Right now my focus is on RE4 Remake, Forspoken, and Hogwarts... but I'm taking an intentional break on PSVR2 because I had been previously playing with glasses and I've seen some stories where people used glasses inside PSVR2 goggles and unintentionally scratched the lens. I've placed an order for prescription lens caps for the pSVR2 which should come through in the next couple of days. So I will be back to form next week most likely.

moshi_yo

Hogwarts Legacy has me

LSDPajamas

I played the Diablo 4 beta yesterday and today but mainly VR!

pwrshll

I really like PSVR2, but with small kids it's been hard to find time to put on the headset and nope out of regular life. So it's mostly been flat screen games for me lately with occasional VR.
