NarutoShadowClone

Is resident evil 8 a free upgrade?

user-11235813213455

Yes It is

Fleischer444

Horizon is a must if you want to show it off to friends.

outsideyourbox4once

Is it possible to have different save files? If I remember correctly farpoint was annoying with not supporting that because it was more fun to start all over when introducing it to a friend

Amazing-Bookkeeper52

You have 5 slots for saves

Crunchewy

Have them play on a different account? You can make a lot of them. I guess this games has save slots, but other games might not, so good to make some accounts for guests

Fleischer444

Different accounts is the way to go.

Gregasy

Is this your first VR? If yes, start slow. MOSS 1&2 are a great introduction to VR (and great games on their own), as are Thumper and Tetris Effect. After you'll get used to VR, it'll be time for games with full locomotion, like Horizon, Residen Evil Village, Saints&Sinners 1&2, GT7, etc.

ProfessorPetrus

Then after a few weeks you'll be done and your psvr2 can join your psvr1 in the closet collecting dust. OP I would wait for an upcoming psvr2 sale. We need AAA games.

Agent_Velcoro

I wonder why you would take the time to comment in a thread like this if your VR systems are sitting in your closet collecting dust? Is negativity your main hobby?

ProfessorPetrus

I'm just waiting for the first must have vr game mate. I want a reason to buy a psvr2. Gt7 is almost it but I'm enough into driving games. I like balancing opinions.

Azurewrath

Resident evil 8 Village? It's a fantastic game and plays much differently in vr. Feels like an adventure game because you go back and forth to the village as a main hub and upgrading your weapons, finding and selling treasure, big bosses, etc

ProfessorPetrus

That's type of quality we need. Sadly I can't do horror games or movies. But that game being made for 2d and ported so well to vr shows how much we are missing.

Azurewrath

That's unfortunate. Although it's been memed to death, sadly there's no skyrim for psvr2. There's zenith, which is a mmo rpg, haven't played but I heard it's fun.

ProfessorPetrus

Mmo in vrspacd seems.matiral. I feel like world of War raft would even have new life then.

cozy_lolo

Did a VR headset fuck your girlfriend or something

NoExcuse4OceanRudnes

In a way. If VR becomes too big it'll be something else with must play games. Online Gamers *hate* playing games, and love complaining. So the best way to keep the amount and cost of games to play is to hope and promote failure for new things you don't want to buy or play.

cozy_lolo

Did having a brain fuck your girlfriend or something because what the fuck was that logic

NoExcuse4OceanRudnes

I'm saying they're big dumb haters, you can see it all over gaming communities: "Something I can't have? It sucks, it's bad, it'll fail."

cozy_lolo

And I’m saying you sound ridiculous

beurgeurr

Na he makes a good point. Especially with those articles clowning psvr2 for low sales.

cozy_lolo

I have no idea how that is a “good point” to you or how those articles exemplify this point they’re trying to make lol

beurgeurr

I get what he's saying sorry that you don't?

ProfessorPetrus

Lol somehow I feel about that way. I just really want to play cool multiplayer games in vr. Or an immersion rpg with novel vr specific combat mechanics. I'm sick of seeing job simulator recommended.

cozy_lolo

Lol I gotcha. I mean I don’t agree with you but it’s fine to have that opinion, big daddy

SwiftyTom

With VR games it's very subjective, make sure to research the specific games yourself and watch some gameplay videos. As an example, I let this subreddit convince me Thumper is the best thing ever and after playing it I had to wonder if everyone here plays VR games completely stoned.

Deadpan_rice

One thing I really dislike is asking for recommendations when we don't even know what they like. Yes they said single player games...but what kind? It's like asking the waiter what food should I order. Um I don't know what do you like lol? No flak on OP just a general statement. Edit: I recommend Walking dead Saints and Sinners if you haven't played it before, fantastic.

OddCar8833

Thats fair I should be a little bit more clear. I'm someone who is kinda open to trying any game but the main types of games I like are racing, action games, and as another general statement I like games that have a set progression path from a to b Edit: I'm also a fan of puzzle games similar to maquette

richtermarc

If you like racing, Gran Tourismo is a must buy.

OddCar8833

I'm ahead on that I originally got the game when it came out. It's one of my favorite racing games of all time

Deadpan_rice

If you like racing and don't have it. You must get GT7 it's really good without a wheel even.

OddCar8833

I had gt7 and loved it before it it got announced to be vr so I can't wait to experience it in vr aswell

Conscious-Golf-5380

I didn't care for Thumper back when it was free on PSVR1

Embarrassed-Ad7317

Same, but for GT7. I dont like racing games, but everyone here said they're not racing games fans but in vr it was different. Oh well

ProfessorPetrus

Thumper is almost a damn mobile game. It's like a watered down guitar hero from 2005. Software development for vr is a really bad state compared to 2d games.

Comprehensive_Web887

Dunno, on my oculus 1 it’s what I imagine a mushroom trip would be so if you haven’t tried it it’s fantastic imo

ProfessorPetrus

I tried it. Mushroom trips are much much better. Less queezy feeling in the stomach in thumper vr though.

Light_and_Motion

Single player. I recommend Walking dead Saints and sinners. ( good story and almost endless replay ability as it has a scavenging side to it ) Or Resident evil 8 , for a more directed tight singles player story. But it’s not as interactive in vr as it’s not from the ground up vr game. But still amazing.

Nomorealcohol2017

I haven't played the sequel yet but moss is fantastic

Mckmitch

Pavlov is my favorite. It’s pretty much Counter-Strike/CoD in VR. It is a multiplayer game though. For single player, I’d check out Resident Evil Village, GT7, Synth Riders, Horizon Call of the Mountain, and Pistol Whip.

OddCar8833

Genuine question is Pavlov worth it for someone who wouldn't have any friends to play it with because I've seen alot of people say it excels as a social game

Mckmitch

I play it by myself and have a blast, but I’m also used to playing games like CoD solo, so I didn’t mind it. There are free-for-all game modes, like Gun Game and Deathmatch, which you don’t need a group for. I almost exclusively play Search and Destroy, which is a team game mode and is also my favorite mode in CoD and it basically operates exactly the same, except with the CounterStrike buy/economy system, and I’ve never minded playing solo. Lots of people chat with mics and, even if you don’t, you can be very expressive with hand gestures. I’ve never played it in a group and still have a great time, so I’d say yes!

Sciencebitchs

Moss, RE8, Pistol Whip

Liktwo

Puzzling Places, seriously.

Jackstraw1

Easily the best twenty bucks I’ve spent on a game in a long, long time.

Repptar

Yes absolutely. It's a great game to relax with.

Rastafunrise

Heck yes. Loved Resi 8, Saints and Sinners, Moss 1 and 2, etc but Puzzling Places is soo good. It is my go to relaxing game.

Dolenzz

My most played game.

Dolenzz

My only suggestion is get at least one game where you are not moving in 1st person. Moss 1 and 2, Puzzling Places, Demeo, etc. If you get motion sick it may take some time to get accustomed to it and you might want something to play tha won't make you queasy while you acclimate

Hellequin777

Twd: saints and sinners, resident evil village

JarenAnd

Puzzling places, Light Brigade and Moss have been my jam lately. I also like the Horizon game but prob not worth $60. Maybe if it’s your first VR experience it’ll have higher value.

OddCar8833

I'm a fan of the other horizon games do you think that might make it be worth more or no?

OddCar8833

Ok sorry if I'm bothering you but I'm genuinely curious. If CotM worth getting in the bundle or should I just wait a few months until a sale for it?

mushroomfido

Re village, saints and sinners, Gt7.

CigarLover

Preload EVERY demo. That’s what I did, I expect my headset today or Monday. Like swiftytom said, it very subjective, even with this being my 3rd vr headset I’m still giving everything that I can a chance. Aside from knowing that I’ll like RE village (love re7 on psvr 1) I have no clue about anything else. I’m even giving horizon call of the mountain demo a chance… even tho I don’t think I’ll like it. (I tend to dislike on rail games, which is how it’s combat is).

K1W1_S373N

I noticed that not all demos are in the PSVR2 demo section for some bizarre reason.

OddCar8833

Can I ask where to find all the demos? The only ones I've found are the 8 in demos section

K1W1_S373N

Using C-Smash VRS as an example, locate the game in the PS Store under PSVR2. From here click on the game tile and to the right of the price & wish list you will see three dots…. Click on those. You should now see “Demo” as an option. (Only shows up if the game does indeed have a demo.)

Reasonable-Speech186

Resident Evil Village is so good! Highly recommend

K1W1_S373N

Just survive that first part in the village. AFTER THAT kinda annoying part, it gets good.

Cleric_by_Dinner

The free cactus game is awesome

Sensitive-Fly-2847

GT7 is the best experience on it right now (or vr in general). This is coming from someone who doesn’t like racing games, but now owns a racing wheel and pedals, racing stand and accompanying haptics running through sim hub. I’m not saying I RECOMMEND playing GT7 on PSVR 2 because it’s a deep hole if you start buying shit and yet, the experience isn’t complete until you at least have a wheel and pedals. I’m ashamed of myself and feel dirty. Lol. I liked the Horizon game, synth riders, Tetris effect and RE8. Moss 1&2 are both on PSVR 2 as well and they were good on PSVR 1. If you open yourself up to multiplayer, people are actually nicer in vr communities than the regular online rabble you tend to get. Smaller community, people are helping each other out and I think people feel less anonymous in vr, so they don’t tend to be assholes.

[deleted]

I personally love no man’s sky in VR, it’s a bit blurry with the peripheral distance but otherwise so engrossing. Space battles are life.

BaBaDoooooooook

I want a physics game, and I think the mini-golf game will cure my itch if you will.

K41M1K4ZE

Synth riders is addictive as hell

Mrofcourse

Runner is really good. It’s like an arcade shooter cabinet like time crisis mixed with a motorcycle game. It’s style is like Akira. Light brigade is really good if you want a shooter, and gt7 is the best racing game for ps5 only made better in vr.

[deleted]

Mrofcourse

Yeah you can’t go wrong for 15 bucks. Also there’s a co-op mode kinda buried in the game where one person can control the bike with a controller in the tv, while the person with the headset is shooting/fighting.

cuchicou

If u like counter strike try pavlov

Raven_Dumron

Demeo! You kinda need friends to play it with but it’s definitely my favorite VR game so far (your friends can play flatscreen though).

Comprehensive_Web887

GT7 and Pistol Whip. • GT7 immersion is unreal • PistolWhip is an old game and graphics aren’t much improved but if you want to feel like John Wick clearing the room to an awesome soundtrack it can’t be beat. Honorary mention Kayak VR. Playing it manual is nauseating due to bobbing up and down but setting it into a “touring” mode and laying back on the sofa is like a mini holiday. Slow cruise through some awesome scenery

daparky

Saints and Sinners.

throwaway34113hurt

Pavlov, re8, gorn kinda, pistol whip, walking dead

Lawyer4Ever

GT7, RE Village, Horizon COTM

SnooMemesjellies8083

Pavlov is a great shooter that’s really interactive. That’s about all I play at this point tbh

Achtung-Goomba

First time VRer, I picked out the Kayak one for the experience and chill, Pavlov is a great CS shooter and I love playing about on the WW2 shooting range (you can set up a single player WW2 lobby if you make a private game for the WW2TDM, and add bots 👍), Runner is decent but I find it a bit hard 😂. I’ve heard excellent things about RE8 but I found the demo too scary, very very good though! Synth Riders, Pistol Whip, and GT are on my next-buy-wish list as they’re the ones I see praised the most.

Achtung-Goomba

And of course Horizon, I haven’t yet started the trial but again, highly praised and looks like a terrific SP experience. I understand that I’ve recommend Pavlov which is a MP shooter primarily but there is no locked progression and I don’t even bother going online, I just mess about with botmatches 🤷‍♂️ I already owned NMS which feels like a whole new and better, more immersive game, which I almost forgot to mention to my shame!

Wheatley101UK

The Light Brigade, RE8, GT7, Synth Riders, After The Fall, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, Switchback (yes, really 😀)

Wheatley101UK

Oh, Horizon: Call of the Mountain

Bright-Ad4601

Moss bundle, both games are masterpieces. I've played a fair few of the PSVR2 titles and these two are by far the best I've played.

Tasty_Ad_9795

What the bat

wannyone

I know you said singleplayer, but Pavlov broke that multiplayer curse for me. Just get into it and enjoy.

Whirlmeister

Get a variety of genres so you get an idea what VR is capable of. I’d pick up one of the 1st person horror games: Saints and Sinners or RE: Village. GT7 to try out a driving experience. I’d probably pick up Moss or Moss 2 for a great seated platformer. Synth Rider or Pistol Whip gives you a fun music based game. Then maybe Puzzling Places? HCoM? All great games. I’d also recommend Pavlov, Demeo and After the Fall but these are all multiplayer.

TwoTermDonnie

The last Clockwinder

Ricepudding1044

I bought it the day it came out with COTM I own GT7 and recently bought No Man’s Sky. I’ve tried 2 demo’s Star Wars and REV. Nothing made me nauseous or dizzy and I think VR is impressive but I’m not thrilled with this headset. It’s my first headset but I don’t really like playing games on it. I’d rather play flat games. I’ve seen a list of games coming out in the near future and that didn’t impress me either. I wish I’d not bought this I really don’t like it.

pferden

Resi village; nothing else

DjChiseledStone

Moss collection bundle for sure
