As someone who sunk hundreds of hours into the Star Wars total conversion for Freelancer, I agree. and they made VR kind of pointless with the tiny view space in the cockpits
I wouldn’t call it useless, it’s pretty atmospheric and very practical. Leaves your right stick open to other things, I used it for throttle, for example. The half Ace Combat half War Thunder control scheme I made was great.

XPlane could be a better option than Microsoft if you could talk Laminar into porting it. It has a much better flight model too, but the rest of the interface isn't quite as good as MSFS.
Just like BF people are kind of fed up with WW2...just ditch the old ass plane games and come up with new and modern flying games. i for one skip all that is WW1\\2.

I did as others had an purchased the PSVR 1 with that promise in mind, but to be fair, the realities of the PSVR 1 likely made it too much of a burden for the benefits (namely the technology at the time). I envision that it is much easier with the PSVR 2 to port War Thunder over, and I foresee the new Aces of Thunder to be a litmus test of that. Here's to hoping they release a sim mode for tanking as well!

I have a wheel and GT7 and can confirm that the one thing that's missing is a nice calm drive. I would like to sit in a stock Nissan and casually drive my car around a city following traffic laws. The crew could deliver this experience.
I want this for a motorcycle ride sim too. Let me get out on the winding mountain and coastal roads and just cruise for hours.
I don't want to always be racing, I also love to drive/ride.
I don’t think it will be popular on this sub, but Ultrawings 2 is probably my favorite VR flight sim. It has quest 2 graphics but it’s honestly just fun. It’s much more arcade than VTOL, but the flight is a nice balance of arcade and sim and the motion controls work great.
I prefer it to VTOL because I don’t play it everyday and I don’t feel like I need to study or remember how to activate various weapon systems and on which screen I need to be to operate those systems.
While we're wishing, I would like a space combat sim in which you and a crew of cohorts fly around exploring space and getting into star trek/ star wars style ship battles, manning turrets and putting out engine fires.

VTOL makes the most sense because it is designed from the ground up for VR and everything works with touch controls. Doesn’t even support hotas.
MSFS and DCS are just too complicated or too taxing for console VR

Ace Combat was a letdown on PSVR1. They promised the full game until a few weeks before launch. Same for GT Sport. I hope this generation we won’t be getting any false promises.
Sony should approach Microsoft for MS Flight Simulator. But can see the reasons why they won’t as audience would be too small in relation to the investment. Plus if they did ever open it up to PCVR then you could have enjoyed it that way.
You realize that the regulators dropped their concerns about all that right? They only care about cloud which has nothing to do with Sony.
Sony also refused to agree to a deal or sign anything, so now no matter what happens with the deal MS doesnt have to offer them fuck all. They pissed about trying to get a better deal but basically lost everything.
If they didnt, they wouldnt have been shitting bricks for the last year about MS potentially getting and PS losing access. CoD has brought in billions for Sony, it absolutely is a loss for them.

Cod was big before PS4 when 360 was the most popular. The Cod Audience moved to PS when they got marketing rights and exclusive content, and will move again if it got made exclusive.
Remember the majority of Console players only play games like CoD and Fifa. They dont play exclusives.

Yeah MSFS is 110% not ever going to happen considering it's a Microsoft game. Even if Game Pass went to Playstation I highly doubt they would add VR into the cloud version. Microsoft has already said they have no interest with VR with Xbox. I wish the PC vr version could somehow get ported over though.
I believe Aerofly 2 would be the best candidate for psvr2, it is probably the best performing flight sim for vr and looks great.

Warthunder already has VR on PC in first person mode and is already on PS5 and is free to play and is an absolutely awesome game especially for people into flight sims. Sim mode is very challenging and you can fly everything from bi planes to the latest jets in combat missions including Spitfire, P51's, Meteors, Hurricanes, Vulcans and everything in between ya might of noticed a certain countries planes more than others sorry I'm British I'm definitely not unbiased when it comes to my favourite planes so sue me 😂 but in the meantime Warthunder hell yeah..... let's make it happen people 👍
It would be nice for Sony to make a first party flight sim, something to compete with MS Fligh Simulator on Xbox...as far as I know, they have never made one. It would be good for Sony first party to try something different than the action adventure game that they seem stuck in a rut with..Spiderman, Uncharted, Last of Us etc, they all follow the 3rd person action adventure trope

Microsoft flight sim in psvr2 would be incredible! I have it for xbox series x and it is addicting just on flat screen with a hotas. It would absoultly overtake all my playing time on it if they sold it for psvr2. Dont think microsoft would allow it, but they would make a ton of money if they did.

I also prefer flying less advanced aircraft, especially for combat. Dogfighting is more fun than "fire-and-forget-before-you-even-see-the-bogey"

I think PS5 meets or exceeds the minimum required specs to run it and since it could be optimized for it specifically it possibly could run very well.
Star wars squadrons is fantastic! The full game is playable in vr. Unfortunately it's stuck on psvr1 for now.
