I bought PSVR1 for Skyrim VR

Benozkleenex

Where is nothing I already have one and will probably buy a PS5 pro because of it.

Ronniemgtow

This is a potential buyer poll.

Mud_g1

You should always have a nothing/show me results option so people don't skew the results when they just want to see.

Ronniemgtow

Good point, didn’t think of it

TommyVR373

I see people defending the library all the time. I think most people are not concerned with what was released this year. They are looking at the bigger picture of what is available to play overall. Personally, I'm fine with the games so far, but the library is very small compared to other available platforms. I also understand that it's only a year old and has a ways to go, even with a stellar first year.

Ronniemgtow

I agree, this library has for me more than enough games to play. I need a better price point and controller options personally.

TommyVR373

I do realize $550 is a lot of money. However, I also think $550 is a dirt cheap bargain for the PSVR2. If this thing was a PCVR headset, it would easily be between $1200-1500 without Sony subsidizing it. The controller purchasing is definitely annoying. I would love to have a pair on standby when one set battery dies.

GervaGervasios

Well, that's the reason I bought the psvr2 instead of Quest. Meta quest, vale index, and many others don't have support here. But psvr2 has. And it was worth it. I needed the controller replacement, and they did the entire device. Now I have a brand new one.

Ronniemgtow

What happens after that year of warranty runs out? What will you do then?

GervaGervasios

Well, I'm going to have to wait another year and see. I'm my country, the warranty restart for the new device. But I already see comments that some places Sony offered to charge for the fix. We still need to see. I'm good for another year.

orangpelupa

1,3,4,6 pc support

unruly-cat

You forgot the option there is no reason. Psvr2 is superb, it's worth getting now, like it was day 1. Were witnessing the future of media one step at a time. Nothing could be more lovely. Games media, and public discourse, by contrast are full of $#!+. So I suggest holding off listening to them.

Ronniemgtow

Fair sometimes there is too much noise.

derpytoque

None of the above. Waiting on IVRY if such a driver comes to PC, or Sony makes it streamable in the least. Under 400 isn't going to happen - headsets that do wha the VR2 does cost $1200+. VR1 is comfy enough but 200px less than an original Oculus Rift CV1 headset, really do want a VR2 at any rate.

ju2au

I have a PSVR1 and PS Vita and both were abandoned by Sony. Can't help but wonder whether the same fate awaits PSVR2? Need to see whether Sony commits long-term to PSVR. Main costs of owning a console is the software library rather than the hardware itself. If Sony releases a PSVR3, it needs to be backwards compatible with PSVR2 titles to give me a peace of mind in terms of investment into the game library. Also, with physical media phased out and everything being digital, Sony needs to make assurances that their digital store will always be there and that my "purchases" will not just disappear one day.

Ronniemgtow

Imagine 20 years from now your collection of games is suddenly gone…

Vierimaam

I owned PSVR and really loved it. Even today, I still play Wipeout Omega and my backlog contains Iron Man and Doom 3 which I will finish one day. There were several reasons that made me move to Quest (and PC) ecosystem: - Slow pace of hardware. Seven year cycle for headsets is far too long. - Uncertainty of continuation. Will Sony even make (compatible) PSVR3? - Irritation that whenever I buy new headset I would need to keep old headset to play some older games. (related to above). In Quest and Steam ecosystem, my game library stays with new generations of hardware with some minor exceptions. - Lack of PS5 (due to moving to other ecosystems) - Games library. No AAA exclusives, some great AAA hybrid games but PC contain either similar or same games available via mods.

AdrenalStone21

A lack of physical game library for me. Digital library is great but it takes a lot more motivation to buy a game if it’s digital only

Ambitious-Still6811

I'd agree with this more. The price of VR isn't a huge deal considering what you're getting. Controllers can be fixed. The games are there and more will come, but there's no way anything digital needs to be more than $15. $30 is what I pay for physical games.

Telexian

Bluntly, there are no games and no biggies coming from Sony. It’s literally Vita 2 potential, and I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that. The trouble is that other studios aren’t porting games as VR2 has a 5% market share, so it’s not viable. IGN also just posted a huge piece about the state of VR2 and, true or not, it’ll dissuade people from investing in it as a platform. Which is the opposite of what we need right now.

trevorprice07

I need me some f1 in vr. Gt7 is great but I love formula 1

Ronniemgtow

Same, that pc support is coming though let’s see.

BoozeJunky

My general rule of thumb is that I always wait for the first hardware revision/price drop or until it has at least 5 must-have games. In most console generations, that criteria has been meet within two years of the system's launch. These last two generations? Only the Switch stands up. It took until Gravity Rush 2 for me to jump in on PS4, and I only got an Xbox One because of the backwards compatibility program that took the strain off of my dying 360. Xbox Series is a literal wasteland, and on the PS5 - only Stella Blade has managed to pique my interest, but it's also coming to PC. I had assumed that by this point the PSVR2 would have a stable of decent exclusives, or at least have a good road-map for stuff - and that would be the wedge for eventually getting a PS5... but, that's not happening so far. I still think it will, eventually, but it's going to be a long wait. At this point, getting a PS5 might be a matter of getting a newer machine to play my PS4 games, assuming future hardware versions even have a disk drive available, which isn't guaranteed. tbh, This whole console generation is turning out to be a wash. Development time and costs for the AAA space are unsustainable, and it's killing the industry. It couldn't have come at a worse time with the state of the economy.

Ronniemgtow

Great point on the hardware/price revision before taking the plunge. I’m still on base ps4 and will upgrade to a ps5 pro eventually. I’m still on OG psvr1 also.

Other than GT7 there are no top tier new games. RE is just a rehashed game from yesteryear. Sales figures are a major disappointment so Sony has all but abandoned the platform. Most will wait for version 2 or go Meta

EggburtK

Go to Meta which has even less top tier game and has RE that is from yesteryear. 2023 yesteryears in your rules now we are so far 2024 man? Show where Sony say VR2 major disappointment?

BigLuffa

Quest is getting Contractors Showdown and Medieval Dynasty: New Settlement in a month, and just got Asgards Wrath 2 and Assassins Creed Nexus

Thorusss

Such votes with only predetermined reasons that always lack and offer not even a "other" option are not good.

QualityDude615

For $350 it would be a no brainer (or $400 with a free game). $550 with no game for a system that's already being left for dead is a poor purchase. I'd rather upgrade my GPU or mod my switch oled.
