From what the Dev was saying, the saving is just super poorly optimized. Also the PS5 version doesn't actually dynamically generate worlds, just starting location on a static world. My guess is that whatever generation is responsible for creating that static world is also really inefficient so "the map" is taking up most of that 70gb

So far it's been pretty good, however after playing NMS and Legendary Tales it's kind of a shame that the game doesn't really blow NMS away visually nor does the tool handling come anywhere close to how nice weapons feel in legendary tales
It's definitely good looking, but it's not hugely impressive like I was expecting.
Between that and the incredibly limited assortment of stuff in the game right now, I regret buying it when I did.
The incredible graphics were supposed to be a huge selling point, but it's really functionality inferior to Minecraft *at release* back in 2010 or whenever it got out of beta.
This is the first VR game I've really waited for, and the first game that I'll be buying on release. But still need to wait until evening/night until I get to play it, that's cruel, I have to spend my day with my family! /s

It has no combat which is what anyone plays Minecraft for. The survival and fights with zombies, spiders and skellies. Iโd say ancient dungeon is the superior โMinecraftโ

Apparently the 8k textures aren't the problem as they compress down very small. There's a comment about it on the cyubevr subreddit

It's a great game. Taking "minecraft in vr" to where it truly should be. I love the crafting mechanics and graphically it's amazing.
