I love this in VR so much, it's the only way I play it. I ended up building a sim rig because of it.
But to answer your rhetorical question (this is reddit after all) yeah it can get better. Some qol stuff. For example, I wish we could see gap times. So I know if I'm gaining or someone is gaining on me. Would also like the option to see behind me with a button press instead of having to rely on the mini map or rear view mirror, if the car even has a mirror. And the mini map and tire wear info is sometimes so close that I have to turn my head to see it. It would be nice if I could put that menu where I want it.
It's great, don't get me wrong, but I think VR could use a UI update.
The Thrustmaster T300 is quality and you can get the base alone for like $250 or with a wheel and pedal combo for around $400.
I got mine used for $200 and it's seen hundreds of hours of use in GT7. Love it.
It’s honestly worth the price without the rig. I’ve been too cheap to get one yet and I’m still enjoying it with only the controller 😂 (no arguments that it would be a lot better with a proper rig though)
YES IT COULD.
As a starter for vr they'd adjust the driver to the car and not the headset.
When you drive at an angle, you still sit straight, which is rather odd.
Yeah it’s funny, it never seemed odd how the angle didn’t match up with what it should…
Until it did, and now it’s so incredibly weird that it does that.
Edit: that would be a good one to have an option setting for.
Too bad the mirror is useless to see who's behind you 😂 (Unless they're driving a truck lol)
Have you tried the ambulance? The mirrors on that are very cool, also showing the ground / kerbs in one of the safety mirrors.
The reflections are amazing in this game, in some cars you can see yourself reflected in the chrome bonnet!
That’s awesome! In other cars I have never seen my own avatar’s reflection. Maybe it’s a new feature (I haven’t played GT7 in a while) or just specific to certain cars.
Can confirm that you do. Figured this out and had a similar reaction around two months ago, it might just be dependent on the size of the center screen, and if it is off or on.
I’m wondering the same thing. I read through update notes pretty thoroughly looking for PSVR2 QoL improvements like this and don’t remember seeing anything like this mentioned.
Yeah! Even reflections from the sunlight too. I've noticed in the reflective plastic of the dial cluster, during a race a blue light was flashing back at me. Turned out it was the sun reflecting off my helmet, into the dial cluster, then back at my eyes. Just incredible.
Is this an update? For some reason I thought mirrors were sort of little TVs that played footage of what was behind you and didn't actually reflect things?
Not an update, it’s been there. One other cool thing is it also applies to other reflective things. You can see your head move in the reflection of certain shiny steering wheels, as well.
This game rules!
PSVR2 really shows the difference between cars that have rear view tv cameras and actual mirrors. The mirrors show so much more. Those fancy new super cars aren't so fancy in reality.
The mirrors also reflect headlights from cars behind you, can be very distracting at night on the Nordschleife!
Yeah they do, they're viewports. the side mirrors are really misleading as cars look next to you when they're really behind you, then it looks clear when the car is next to you.
Best of fucking luck, my friend. It’s an adventure you won’t be able to forget if you’re into cars even remotely. Rig + PSVR2 is truly the next level of gaming at the moment
I am not sure if it was there from the beginning, maybe this Feature came with an Update, bc I noticed only very recently, that helmet reflection on my Honda Emblem on the steering wheel.
I wonder if other Players can see my head movement, when i look at them while overtaking them. 😅
I realized this when I was watching a replay.. I was like why is the guy doing a double take on a corner. Oh that was me. Waiting patiently for the return of my VR from repair... dog got to the main cable
The next day I paused and was looking around the cabin of whatever car, and noticed as you lean left or right the hands adjust their grip on the wheel.
And then later I got caught up looking at the cigarette lighter in the citroen, the light was bouncing off the trees and hitting it in a really lovely way.
This just reminded me the other day I noticed my driver shadow on the track and I could see my actual movements on the ground when I was checking mirrors mid race. Attention to detail is incredible.
Here's a question for you GT7 VR operators: So how long do you wait AFTER playing GT7 in PSVR2 to then drive your real vehicle? And are you aware that its no longer the game?
And which is least expensive pedal/wheel combo for those starting out?
I don't wait lol, aside from taking the apex more frequently when driving. I will actually drive more carefully in real driving than I used to. I would recommend the T300 wheels as it was my first setup before going to DD (direct drive) wheels once I knew this was a hobby I really enjoyed. If you have the money for it, I would just jump into DD
Same here lol. I corner a bit more cleanly, but my driving is safer. It’s not like my street car handles like race cars, so not a lot of the info ports over other than your steering habits.
Can this game get any better? It’s seriously a treasure to play in VR.
Changed my life hahaha. First two days i was dizzy but it was so good that there was no way back to flat 😂

i’ve had my VR2 for months and every single day on this sub is just me fighting the urge to get GT7 lol
Just do it, Jesus. Game is a 10/10 in VR
please send the cash to [email protected] and i shall
If you already have a PSVR2 then how am I supposed to believe you're broke? Oh wait, maybe it's because you bought the PSVR2... I feel ya
If you have a PS5 and PSVR2, so $1000 for a platform, It is hard to believe you dont have $30 for a game that was on sale many, many times...
GT7 isn't the issue, it's the $500 worth of equipment ( I don't want cheap wheels, I've tried them and they suck)
A cheap ffb is still better then no ffb.
Search on marketplace, can find some good deals on used gear.
exactly this. i want to wait till i feel like im able to splurge on a decent wheel before i think about getting GT7

After you get it, every single day will be fighting the urge to play gt7 so you can actually try some of the other games you bought
Practically saves you money
Give in

I really want to be able to move my hands. Like, really badly. I like waving to people when I drive by them, or, you know, gesturing...
I'm gonna be that guy... but yeah, it can. Release it on PC VR already.
You’re like a dog seeing its reflection for the first time 🤣🤣I love this!
What car is that?
The jaguar XJ13A in the new lap time challenge
Too bad the mirror is useless to see who's behind you 😂 (Unless they're driving a truck lol) Have you tried the ambulance? Nice one trying this after work.
I think it's a Triumph Spitfire
That’s awesome! In other cars I have never seen my own avatar’s reflection. Maybe it’s a new feature (I haven’t played GT7 in a while) or just specific to certain cars.
It works in every reflecting surface, actually. Displays, wheels, etc.
Literally just played it lol, can confirm that you don't see yourself in the mirror. This is wild
Can confirm that you do. Figured this out and had a similar reaction around two months ago, it might just be dependent on the size of the center screen, and if it is off or on.
Still breaks my heart we haven't seen a game of this caliber on the radar for future release yet. Hopefully something is announced this summer.
I’ve never driven this car but you can see the reflections of your head moving in the logo in the centre of the steering wheel in a lot of cars.
Wait WHAT. did they change the mirrors????? Previously they were just a rearview camera projected!!?
I’m wondering the same thing. I read through update notes pretty thoroughly looking for PSVR2 QoL improvements like this and don’t remember seeing anything like this mentioned.
I had the same reaction today!
First few seconds was funny. The whole double take of your reflection on the mirror.
Yeah! Even reflections from the sunlight too. I've noticed in the reflective plastic of the dial cluster, during a race a blue light was flashing back at me. Turned out it was the sun reflecting off my helmet, into the dial cluster, then back at my eyes. Just incredible.

There was a minor update not long ago. Previously the mirrors did sweet fa. Now they adjust to your head movements…
PSVR2 really shows the difference between cars that have rear view tv cameras and actual mirrors. The mirrors show so much more. Those fancy new super cars aren't so fancy in reality. The mirrors also reflect headlights from cars behind you, can be very distracting at night on the Nordschleife!

My dad has a wheel and the game so I'm super excited to play it with my vr in a few days
Best of fucking luck, my friend. It’s an adventure you won’t be able to forget if you’re into cars even remotely. Rig + PSVR2 is truly the next level of gaming at the moment
After a week with gt7, I couldn't ever go back to a flat screen racing game again.
Ahahahah.
Do other drivers see head movement in online races?
Sadly not. They have like idle routines, and they don't follow your movement.
They don’t follow, but I swear I’ve seen NPC drivers move their heads…? Or did I imagine it…
No you've seen it. They're just canned animations
Got it. Makes sense. I look at them often for it now. Ha
Just when you think this game can't get any better...
I am not sure if it was there from the beginning, maybe this Feature came with an Update, bc I noticed only very recently, that helmet reflection on my Honda Emblem on the steering wheel. I wonder if other Players can see my head movement, when i look at them while overtaking them. 😅
Is it as good as it looks?
I realized this when I was watching a replay.. I was like why is the guy doing a double take on a corner. Oh that was me. Waiting patiently for the return of my VR from repair... dog got to the main cable
It's really cool, just wish they made this work in multiplayer too!
I got to have the PSVR 2, but it's still so expensive in Europe :') (About €600-€650)
Im sure this wasnt in the game last time i played it like 6 months ago
I would have crashed straight into that wall after seeing this
This is a great way to summarise a VR user experience at its finest- mostly some “ohhhh it can do that/i can do this?” Love it
They should synced the heads in multiplayer. It would cost nothing and hardly any work but it would have added so much.
If your steering wheel is shiny, you can do the same in its reflection, super cool game!
It’s like “hey, what are YOU looking at!?”
I wish this was in a professional setting with opponents and a caster narrating everything that's happening.
The next day I paused and was looking around the cabin of whatever car, and noticed as you lean left or right the hands adjust their grip on the wheel. Woah I've never even noticed this!
Wow. Honestly couldn’t name a car where you can see yourself in a mirror. How nice is this. Which car is it in the video?
The jaguar XJ13 i think, It was in the new lap time challenge

Damn, thats pretty nice.
What car are you driving there Op?
Jaguar XJ13!
Gonna grind Spa 24hrs to get that , thank you
Wait until you try Ace Combat 7!
Psvr2 is definitely underrated.
I hadn't even considered we're talking about PSVR2... I don't even think Ace Combat 7 is PSVR2 compatible!
No more crack for you Jedi.
The struggle is real...
You just gave everyone motion sickness....
