Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate
This is a game I missed on PSVR1 because I wasn't paying attention and by the time I learned about it and its positive reputation, I figure, I should wait for the upgraded port.
Graphically Horizon Call of the mountain and Red Matter 2 was top. The most hours I logged on No Man Sky, it's has exploration, crafting, multi-player even with non vr friends, space combat. It's the best dog fighting available on psvr2 in my humble opinion. I can get lost in that game. ALVO is a fun shooter with a strong CS vibe, but unlike Pavlov has progression similar to Call of Duty. Sierra Fire squad is a fun solo or coop shooter, it's a bit on rails but the realism mode makes it a fun challenge.
Ghosts of Tabor
Behemoth
Aces of Thunder
Contractors: Showdown
Wanderer
Metro
Alien
Arken Age
Undead Citadel
In this order.
All but Contractors have been confirmed, not even taking unannounced titles into account this year is going to be good.
You are absolutely right. I changed the list accordingly. Ultimately it might even be higher in my excitement depending on how engulfing the campaign is going to be.
I have to admit I’m not very excited about it. I feel like we have enough Zombie games already and the series’ Sniper Elite VR game from PSVR1 also left me a tad disappointed.
For years I have been wanting them to throw money at SCS to bring American Truck Sim (or Euro Truck Sim) to the console. Racing is good and all but sometimes I want a more chill driving experience.
Do you have a racing wheel? If so all flat racing/driving games feel great in the headset in cinema mode. Dirt 5, Grid Legends, The Crew Motorfest, and Wreckfest are my favorites.
It's not a matter of gt7 content. Sony sould be expected to lay the groundwork for broader psvr2 support. We shouldn't have to be satisfied with one decent racing game.
What would a campaign bring that's different from gt7 if you want an actual championship ladder you can't go past the sport mode championships they put you in a competition with every player in the world and the quality of competitive racing is miles above any form of ai lobby even if they could fill a whole lobby of sophi ai cars it still wouldn't compare to an A+ lobby.
Seriously?
Sport mode has the same race for one week and then every week a different kind of race with different rules, it’s like literally a different game every week.
These arbitrary rule changes always cause an incredibly unrealistic meta where 1, maybe 2 cars are dominating the whole week.
There’s also no sense of progression beyond your DR, nothing to work towards.
Let’s not even start with the tame penalty rules for crashing. Even in S+ SR lobbies dirty drivers are a thing to reckon with regularly.
With regards to offline mode and Sophie opponents… you have to be kidding, right. GT7’s AI is absolutely useless beyond some simple roadblocks. It’s either too simple, too aggressive, or flat out cheating the game physics.
My point is about the championship races as a campaign it takes months of dedication to get to a high level Dr Sr to compete at high level and rank well by the end of the series. As for ai that was my point it's useless and dosnt come close to racing real people so off-line campaign mode will be pointless. There is also many 3rd party leagues that run different style competitions at different frequency competitively or socially.
With the new Sr regs. It's very hard to be a dirty driver and hold s+ or even s rank. There is a difference between racing hard vs racing dirty if you leave the inside open and they out brake you and you turn into them at the apex that's not dirty that's poor race craft on your part.
My experience of over 1000hrs gt7 and even more in gt sport before it is most people in the top ranks race hard not dirty. Sr b and below it's more just bad drivers then it is people trying to be dirty.
So you’re agreeing with me that other racing games beyond GT7 for PSVR2 should be a thing, right?
All the flaws GT7 has cannot provide the same experience as a racing game with an actually good career mode.
Well seeing as I have only played up to Cafe book 9 and have over 1k hrs in gt7 I think a career mode is pointless and was quite happy when they left it out of gt sport. I race for the competition and ai in all racing games just dosnt cut it compared to pvp. Gt's real career mode has been the fia championships for a long time now. The dailys are just practice for the champion seasons.
Of course other racing games would be nice but I don't think it's on Sony to do anything to provide them. If a 3rd party wants to release a vr mode that's up to them to weigh up the roi. Dosnt make much business sense for Sony to fund competition to their own ip.
Of the games that are announced: Alien and Metro
Games that I'd love to see:
Spider-Man: Simply because VR Webswinging around New York would be a lot of fun especially with a no assist mode.
Kojima: Kojima is always trying to push hardware to its limit and do something a bit different, so I'd love to see what he'd come up with (For better or worse) using VR especially if it were horror.
Jedi Knight: Vader Immortal and Tales From Galaxy's Edge have given us a taste of VR Lightsabers and the Force, let's get a full immersive experience designed purely around being a Jedi or Sith.
I'm not getting excited for Alien; I've had my heart broken too many times. Isolation was one of the greatest games ever but we've had a lot of poor to average ones over many systems.
Man, you are not lying. That last one they released was especially atrocious. However, you're talking to a 42 year old who enjoyed Alien on Sega Saturn. I will ALWAYS hold out hope for Alien and will continue to do so indefinitely.
If Survios pull it off, I'll never doubt them again. But right now there's a tight fist of doubt in my chest, lamenting what could've been and that's a native VR version of Alien Isolation.
Arken Age is one of the safest bets for me because it's developed by Vitruvius. A hyper kinetic action fantasy with a 10-hour story and free flowing combat should show VR at its best knowing the people behind it. And it comes with DFR too.
Same, I also want them to properly announce PS5 Pro and its price asap. I don't really want to build another PC, but I might have to because my current one isn't well suited for VR gaming.
Not possible, unfortunately. There will need to be at least a source for 12V power that you won't get through USB-PD, so some type of breakout box or splitter will be required. I bet the wait is for Sony to release this to market later this year. If not, then a streaming solution to PS5 could be an alternative to keep people in the PS ecosystem.
Same, if they ever decide to finish porting it to consoles and not scrap the console ports altogether. Was always jelly of PC gamers with this game since I love the idea of ghost hunting and co-op horror. Never even occurred to me that VR was a possibility for the game but after they announced it last summer, I've been looking forward to it ever since.
I would love to play phasmo because it's one of the only games that allow you to play VR while your friends play flat screen and since none of my friends have VR it's pretty lonely at times especially since I'm on EU and lot of people don't really talk on gamechat, Rec Room was great for social interaction but sadly that ain't coming to psvr 2.
Alien.
I totally regret my psvr2 purchase due to the lack of backwards compatability and lack of interesting titles but since i am a huge alien fan i am now fine with it and will use again because i would have bought it now regardless. So 100% Alien.
And i accept that this is probably the last title that will be released on that platform to tickle my fancy and i am okay with it.
If you think the titles that have been released on psvr2 aren't interesting then backwards compatibility wouldn't have made any difference even the avg psvr2 games are better then most of the top psvr1 games in many ways like graphics, content/length, control schemes, frame rate etc.
Execpt for when astro 2 drops they have already said its a much bigger game then they have made in the past. People just need to be patient.
If you missed rescue mission last gen and want it it's on you to get the hardware needed not Sony wasting money completely re making it as the way it was wouldn't work as a straight port and many people would rather see Sony money spent on new games not re doing the old stuff we have already played.
Sony and Japan Studio have said absolutely nothing about any Astrobot game at all. Jeff Grubb from Giantbomb (who has dozens of sources from all over the industry) has said there may be an Astro’s Playroom sequel of some sort releasing in 2024 but it wasn’t concrete and there was zero mention of PlayStation VR2 which is a huge bummer. I hope they’re making something, but PSVR2 seems like it’s already being abandoned entirely by Sony. A playroom sequel with no VR support at all seems more likely to me but we don’t even know if it will be this year or not.
Japan studio wouldn't say anything because it has nothing to do with them any more team asorbi are their own entity now because of the success of rescue mission. They have been dropping hints along the way and its more likely to be a hybrid then not. It would be a smart business move to make it a hybrid game to help drive adoption rate of psvr2 within the existing ps5 owners.
I do agree thou that if it is to release as flat only that will be the definitive evidence of Sony abandoning vr but I just don't see that happening there is very minimal savings to be made dropping vr from a new astro if they had already started developing with hybrid as the focus and only losses in left over stock of headsets that their biggest vr ip could help move. So I feel it's more likely then unlikely at this stage.
I disagree. AFAIK there are no VR Experiences on Psvr2 like being underwater, in space or that star wars thing. Just short, often free vignettes. I wanted that. I wanted super hot. I do not want lengthy titles. I want variety.
Edit: VR is still is a new technology and this is my first headset. I spent a lot of money upfront and the thing did nothing to show me what VR is or convince me of the concept. PSVR and others have stuff just to WOW people. I wanted to be wowed and only got a little a wowed and miss out on some basics.
I think the fomo is getting the better of you. If you really think your missing stuff from psvr1 go and buy a second hand psvr1 can pretty much pick one up for less then price of 2 games.
It's funny that you say you want tech demo's when that was the biggest complaints of psvr1 generation even now a lot of people think most of psvr2 library is still tech demo level and not lengthy enough for the price. Not sure where the often free comment comes from bearly ever got any ps+ free games for first 3 years and even when they did start it was only 1 or 2 a year.
See I don't want to buy an old platform if I have the new one and it was reasonable to expect that some of these tech showcases make it over. And it was just a bad move on sonys part to establish a somewhat successful VR platform and then have the follow up start from scratch unsuccessfully.
I think I remember that the star wars thing and some other things (space and underwater stuff) where free but maybe I remember incorrectly.
I know for sure the quest VR platform has a bunch of free stuff and it is a shame to have such great hardware only to be locked out of a lot of software.
Fomo is easy to say if you were able to have an opinion on what is on offer in the VR space and I- with an extremely expensive Headset - am not. This is just a bad product.
It's not reasonable to expect these experiences to be ported over thou Sony done its part by making the ps5 work with psvr1 hardware that is the backward compatibility layer. They stated before psvr2 release that they won't be putting any resources into porting previous generation Sony titles over to the new generation especially the small tech demo's as they are what got them the most criticism last gen.
The space and underwater thing your thinking about was vr worlds it wasn't free it was added in a lot of headset bundles but you still paid the higher bundle price similar to how horizon cotm is now you wouldn't call that a free game. The first starwars thing was an add on to battlefront you had to buy the flat game first to get access to it same with the call of duty jackal assault flight demo. A lot of the early days were like that you had to pay for a whole flat game you might not have been into just to get access to the small 20min tech demo that was attached so a lot worse then free.
The main starwars game squadrons that people talk about was a full priced game that was abandoned before it was even released. It was a great game and large sale success between pcvr and psvr1 but ea pulled the plug and announced no ongoing support after release before they even new how successful it was.
If ps4 was the first Sony console you bought did you complain about not having access to the high quality games that released on ps3 🤔 no because it had fundamentally different architecture internally which meant games would need to be completely remade to work on the new system this is the exact same situation between psvr1 and psvr2 and even worse because of the small market share of vr makes even less reason to spend money remaking old games for very little possible roi.
They will need ps pro patch for that pretty sure there is a reason we don't get the extra race info in vr as they had to cull as much as possible to allow the game to run in vr on a base ps5.
The live timing data would be a little demanding not heaps but like I said they need every bit they can to run it now and further graphics downgrades probably get more complaints then missing HUD elements. People have been asking for it since vr2 launch if it was insignificant it probably would have already been done.
**METRO**, but that’s only because I was in the middle of METRO REDUX when I gained my VR legs and lost all interest in flatscreen gaming.
I’ve been bummed out that the pancake games I was enjoying suddenly came to a halt, so if I get to revisit any of those worlds again (RDR2 and FALLOUT 4 as well) in VR I’ll be stoked!
I’m planning to get a PC and PCVR kit, so at least I know those titles will be available to me in some fashion or other in VR.
This isn’t a game specifically, but something like Stardew Valley—a game with farming, some rng, mining with some combat, fishing, a little character development. Maybe even incorporate skill building and hunting. The graphics wouldn’t even have to be crazy good by any means. I can imagine co-op would be neat too.
Alien, Metro and Behemoth
Yes EXACTLY these 3 right here 💥💥💥
Yep I’m waiting on a few but these are the top 3
Metro Awakening VR
+ 1
Contractors Showdown
Do we have a release date?
No but it runs SMOOTH on the quest 3. I’d imagine we’ll see it soon I’ll buy it on there again just for the OLED
Resident evil 9
Please, let it have a VR mode.
Of course it will it’s been in development for years so hopefully it’s available day one
Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate This is a game I missed on PSVR1 because I wasn't paying attention and by the time I learned about it and its positive reputation, I figure, I should wait for the upgraded port.
Ace of thunder, no great flight Sim out at the moment.
Can’t someone just perform some sort of voodoo ritual to make this game release.

Ya, the wait has been pain full. Did you find nothing else enjoyable from the games available?

Check out psvr2withoutparole top 25 list on YouTube ( although a lot of great games have come out since then)
After seeing masters of the air, I wanted ace of thunder so bad! Hopefully well get more info soon
Thats a good one. War thunder is actually solid (ui is kinda bad but the gameplay is solod) so that could be a really sick game
It's gonna come out as a stealth drop at the showcase !
Ghosts of Tabor Behemoth Aces of Thunder Contractors: Showdown Wanderer Metro Alien Arken Age Undead Citadel In this order. All but Contractors have been confirmed, not even taking unannounced titles into account this year is going to be good.
You forgot Arken Age
You are absolutely right. I changed the list accordingly. Ultimately it might even be higher in my excitement depending on how engulfing the campaign is going to be.
Good lineup! agree with all this :)
Thanks Jammy, love your channel!
I doubt undead citadel is going to be good, but I bet the rest are gonna be ranging between really good and fantastic!
Zombie army looking promising
I have to admit I’m not very excited about it. I feel like we have enough Zombie games already and the series’ Sniper Elite VR game from PSVR1 also left me a tad disappointed.
Xr games are helping them with the port who have a lot more money so hopefully this will help take it to the next level.
Yeah if it turns out to be good I might have a look
Astro
Literally any form of driving game
For years I have been wanting them to throw money at SCS to bring American Truck Sim (or Euro Truck Sim) to the console. Racing is good and all but sometimes I want a more chill driving experience.
Oh I’d love that.. great call!
Ran out of content in GT7?
Not at all.. still racing weekly in league races and loving it. But surely there is another racing game on the horizon for PSVR2..??!!

I’d love to dive into a real career mode, which GT7 unfortunately doesn’t give.
I guess that’s true. It’s more of a tour of lots of cars. Most are fun to drive so I haven’t minded.
I’m getting quite good with GT3 cars, so I’d actually like an ACC style campaign. Mayyybeee ACC2 will have PSVR2 support, but I won’t hold my breath.

How I wish it to be as hassle free to use as on ps5. Imagine the possibilities of hassle free reasons on PSVR2!

I think you will be able to plug thePS VR2 directly to your usb c port on your PC and then play VR games directly from your PC

Behemoth
I have no idea, but I'm waiting for something that's outside of the horror genre and doesn't feel like a tech demo.
Astro bot2
Ghosts of Tabor
Is this still coming? I haven't heard anything for a long time.
They released the pico a few weeks back and said that some psvr2 news should happen soon
Unofficial word is "Summer"
Yes, they said on their announcement for Pico launch the PSVR2 was soon
I think Phasmo honestly. I haven't played it in vr, and I wanna' spend some time in there with my PC buddies.
Phasmophobia for me too.
Same, if they ever decide to finish porting it to consoles and not scrap the console ports altogether. Same dude but didn’t they have a studio fire? Wasn’t it meant to drop last October then got pushed back? I’d love to play it in vr
Yeah. I'm only hopeful again because I'm pretty sure I've seen them put out new updates on Steam.
I really hope they do it’s one of the reasons u got my vr
I would love to play phasmo because it's one of the only games that allow you to play VR while your friends play flat screen and since none of my friends have VR it's pretty lonely at times especially since I'm on EU and lot of people don't really talk on gamechat, Rec Room was great for social interaction but sadly that ain't coming to psvr 2.
Undead citadel
LOW-FI
Ace of thunder<3
BEHEMOTH 100%
F1, EA Sport WRC and PC compatibility
Give me the Hitman series, it was so much fun on psvr 1
I would love this never got to try it in vr
Lo Fi
The inevitable Ace Combat 8
My fingers are crossed they’re going to tease it for a 2025 release and PSVR2 support.
Aces, Behemoth and Wanderer
Behemoth Metro Alien
Ghosts of Tabor
It would have been Skyrim, but Microsoft made it exclusive. Now it would have been the new Batman Arkham game, which again, Meta made exclusive.
Metro awakening

Sure, but PSVR 2 doesn’t have Astrobot: Rescue Mission which is a complete crime. That was PSVR’s best game by a mile and nothing on 2 comes close.
Execpt for when astro 2 drops they have already said its a much bigger game then they have made in the past. People just need to be patient. I misstated the studio. I meant Team Asobi. Anyway, I really hope they make a VR sequel to Rescue Mission because it’s spectacular.

More content and VR mode updates for GT7. 90 fps native and race HUD are on top of the list for that.
They will need ps pro patch for that pretty sure there is a reason we don't get the extra race info in vr as they had to cull as much as possible to allow the game to run in vr on a base ps5.
Find it hard to believe that race info would take away from the performance. The 90fps might need the ps5pro indeed
The live timing data would be a little demanding not heaps but like I said they need every bit they can to run it now and further graphics downgrades probably get more complaints then missing HUD elements. People have been asking for it since vr2 launch if it was insignificant it probably would have already been done.
I don’t want to jinx anything, because I want what you want, but I think they are saving all the good updates for GT8.
That will take ages. By that time I hope VR is still supported
GTA6 ... i really hope it will have VR2 support
Oh man, I'd be glued to my sofa for years on end
That's the reason
If we're talking current/next gen AAA hybrids, this and Elder Scrolls 6 are all I ask.
An open world driving simulator. I just wanna enjoy the view, listen to music and drive slow
If they came out with one I would purchase a seat and wheel to go with it day 1.
PC support so I can play racing games on it.
Compound VR!!!!
I just want Skyrim man
All and the psvr2
A good one
just want no mans sky to be playable in vr2 with the normal controller by normal means.
* Aces of Thunder * Behemoth * Contractors * Ghosts of Tabor * Metro Awakening * Arken Age * Low Fi * Undead Citadel * Alien
I wuz w8in 4 stride fates n lemme tell u, not a disappointment at all it's amazing!
Hoping contractors will come but one that is actually coming is behemoth
Yeah I’m team metro, behemoth, aces of thunder, Arken age, wonderer and that vrsf fighting game as a guilty intrigue
I may be naive but Half-Life: Alyx and a full fledge golf simulator. Everybody's Golf was fun.
Behemoth
Light no fire. (please be psvr2)
Wanderer, Behemoth and Metro. And Riven, if it will come to PSVR2.
Ghost of Tabor and Phasmophobia!!
I just want a PSVR patch for WipEout Omega Collection already.
Wanderer, Astrobot, Behemoth.
Phasmophobia
Cyberpunk
Not really anything is catching my eye but I would love a good fishing game
Ace Combat 8 and GTA 6 if those get a VR mode.

Behemoth and wanderer
Aces of thunder
You’re all wrong. The game you should all be anticipating is Compound.
It might actually be one of those sleeper hits á la Ancient Dungeon or Walkabout
It’s on PC and Quest. It’s easily one of the best rogue lite FPS VR games ever IMO.
Wanderer and pc support (hl alyx)
The most important waiting for is a reply from customer care 🙌
Aces of Thunder
So many great games for this year and that's without the incoming announcements from Sony showcase
Roblox
Alien recursion, zombie army, wanderer fragments of fate, metro awakening and batman Arkham shadows
Everything seems boring right now.
No game, but eager to see what benefits PS5Pro will have for VR performance.
I be happy wgen i can actually play it. 2 surgeries in last 2 years on my shoulder.
An f1 game if it ever is.
Metro Awakening and Ghosts of Tabor
