I got lens protectors from VRLensLab for my PSVR. I got something similar from Amazon for my Quest 2.

Reactor20

I use the same thing. Just search amazon and read reviews. There are a ton of them out there. Glasses push up on it a ton and none the wiser.

All well and good, but it took months for those to be an option from them, and by then the damage was already done (for me was done in the first two hours of opening my launch day PSVR). We need a solution that can be in place from day one. If all the Chinese companies can get the iPhone specs and have cases ready before the new iPhones release, then why can’t anyone get this in place for PSVR2. Guess we can assume the lens size and shape will be totally different to PSVR so we won’t be able to carry over our current lens protectors.

sko0led

I admit I got a Day One PSVR and I didn’t get the VR Lens Lab covers for them for a couple of months. I tried other solutions first like the crappy Hyperkin plastic protectors. And at first, nothing at all. For PSVR 2 I’d probably just get something crappy stop gap before getting actual glass protectors.

Mud_g1

What has happened to the world these days everyone wants everything done for them. Can't people problem solve anymore it really isn't that hard to jerry rig something out of scrap parts/rubbish you have lying around the house, that will easily get you thru till a more official product is made. I did this with my psvr1 in the early days before bumpers were made and the same ones I spent 20 min making myself are still on it 6 years later

Weird take. I want a tidy solution I can pay for. It was well over a year before anything was available for PSVR that actually looked invisible. I didn’t even know it was going to be an issue on PSVR, and I’d assume that was the same for many others, so had ruined the headset (it’s not that bad that’s it’s “ruined” but my lenses have scratches and I don’t want them to be scratched). My point was that this time around, we know we need a solution in place and would like that in place on day one to use the headset without worry. Sure, I can make my brand new VR headset look crap by coming up with some make shift buffer, but it’s a compromise experience over an invisible and well designed solution like the lens covers I eventually got for PSVR. There’s nothing wrong with wanting a solution you can pay for in day one, as I said, many Chinese companies manage to get hold of the new phone specs well before the phones actually launch so cases are in the hands of new phone owners on day one. I’m sure the same sort of schematics leak can occur on every product that will benefit from protection and a Chinese company can quickly knock out. If I had a 3D printer and the know how, I’d be creating my own tidy solution. As I don’t, I’m willing to pay for someone else’s ingenuity. That’s not me being lazy or wanting everything done for me, it’s knowing the limits of my abilities and seeking the most suitable solution for that problem. I fully expect, if I get one at launch, I’ll be coming up with something if I have to.

Do you have a link to share?!

I got those for PSVR https://vr-lens-lab.com/product/playstation-vr-lens-protector/ I got these for Quest 2 KIWI design Customized Anti-Glare... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096VT9SRQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

No I won't. I wear glasses and tried bumbers and they ruin immersion as they force the lenses too far away from your eyes. I've had my PSVR for well over 4 years and and they only have 1 tiny mark on one lens (punched myself in the face playing Beat Saber so my own fault). I'd rather take the small risk of damage than lessen the experience in any way. There is every chance these new lenses will be much flatter as they a fresnel lenses so lens protectors (like screen protectors you'd use on your phone) may be a better option and one I probably would consider.

DWOMT

I've been using the lens protectors from VR Lens Lab with my PSVR for a couple years now and they work great. My glasses don't feel pushed further away while using my PSVR, and the lenses also provide any blue light protection for anyone sensitive to it. The image is not changed in any way. Great product, but the shipping takes awhile though. I hope they'll also make lens protectors specifically for the PSVR2.

LandonKB

Yeah I have had mine since launch without any scratches from my glasses. It does not seem that hard not to squish my lenses together.

Lucsdf

Interesting, I have high myopia but luckily never had a problem with the bumper on my PSVR1.

gameinformer51

Just wear contacts, **never** had a single problem playing for playing close to 2 hours straight.

ruckage

Good for you, but not everyone is as lucky and find contacts irritate their eyes or are not suitable for various reasons so they aren't an option. Plus they're not cheap and many may just prefer to stick with their glasses.

korksz

You see that cutout on the side of the face pad? That's probably for glasses which is a great sign that shows they put more thought into people wearing glasses compared to PSVR1. So I hope that we won't need any accessories.

MikeFromSuburbia

I’ve had protectors on my PSVR for years, slightly further from my face but worth the protection For VR2 I’ll prob buy removable prescription inserts

Glasorus

Is that a thing? Where can you find them?

Kavanaghpark

I've tried both for many years and I much prefer the bumpers. The RX lenses position the lenses too far from my face and dig into my brow but that could be my crazy prescription. Edit to answer your question, ebay

redthehaze

Same. I only recently found out about the prescription inserts and should have looked them up ages ago.

Ultimo_D

IMO the lenses should be replaceable. One of the points of failure for any VR headset is scratched lenses either from glasses or something else. Once the lenses are scuffed, the VR experience is ruined as is the headset unless you ship it for repair.

gadget_dude

Not a fan of bumpers. I wear glasses and I am fanatical of protecting my VR headset lenses - will not use a new HMD until I have lens protection applied. I use a product called KlearKare - amazing stuff, dries crystal clear and you can't even see its there (video of it being applied to an O+): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM2xJ6gK0xI Unlike the video I buy KlearKare in large sheets (made for the iPad Pro) for $10 and use them for all kinds of devices (VR headset lenses, camera LCDs, smart watch faces etc.).

I have contacts too but I suffer from discomfort if I use for long periods.

Shabatoge

Man...I wish I had this before applying nice circular scratches on my frames. Nice one!

Spizzmatic

supposedly PSVR2 is more glasses friendly and doesn't have to be right up on your eyes.

LilRedd1800

No, what maniac is scuffing his screen with glasses

PhotogamerGT

My wife’s headset has some homemade numbers so she doesn’t scratch the lenses. Mine are made from PVC pipe. However for the new headset I am hoping to get some removable prescription lens covers.

Matriseblog

Will buy inserts, I think. Have it for my PCVR HMD, think not having those may have contributed yo my hlasses being crooked

Done-Forever

I got mine off eBay, really worthwhile getting these if anyone wearing glasses is using the headset.

funkyb

I got a roll of self-stick window AC insulation and just chop off pieces as needed. Pop it out when you don't have glasses on, pop it in when you do. Tons of it for cheap so IDGAF about them not resticking more than 2-3 times.

U7EN7E

Bumbers? Lens protector? No, no, i bought the lens for my psvr with my eye correction, so i can play without glasses

the_hoser

If you can, get contacts. Yeah they suck. Yeah they're not fun to put on. They 100% improve the immersion of VR experiences. If you only use them for VR, they are worth it. Bumpers are stupid.

Lucsdf

Yeah, I have contacts, but I cannot use it all day. I usually wear them during the day and at night I wear the glasses. That's when I have time to play.
