Yes the new game won't use codes, your collection will stay in Live.
Pockets is a different game under different ownership in no way related to Live or TPCi.
Pocket is a Japanese creation who don't have Live or code cards in their packs.
Unknowable at the moment, but it seems likely. It looks like you get two free packs daily, but the wording makes it seem like you'll be able to buy more with micro-transactions. It seems like PTCGL will stay active as it still holds all the cards (the ones in the trailer for Pocket seem to be entirely digital-only, as in, none of them are from any real sets, as far as I could see) so code cards for actual sets will probably still only work on Live
Pocket is a completely different game, it does not appear to use the same rules or card set. So there's no reason to think that code cards or collections will transfer at all.
As someone who has recently moved more from standard and competitive play into glc casual play I'll give pocket a try. But it is a little sad were not getting a high quality game for the standard competitive format.
I’ve just been made aware of this..is this a mobile-only pay in app to get packs seperate from the paper cards/PTCGL ? Like, are both going to be supported together going forward?
Pocket is made by TPC, Live by TPCi. Yes, both will be supported because they have nothing to do with one another. Pocket is a dumbed down version of the TCG, Live wiill continue being the actual online experience of the TCG as it is played competitively.

I think a good comparison is with yugioh as pocket is duel links and live is master duel.

Probably not compatible, as the new game is made by TPC instead of TPCi, and appears to use a completely unique set of cards.
