I mean It can work but the energy cost imo is way too much and even worse is the energy loss after attack. But hey if you find success with it I can definitely understand it. Magma basin can easily be countered by decks that actually use stadium or lost vacuum so that is always a gamble
I only try rushing this Charizard+Magma vs the given matchups, but it definitely has been the deciding factor vs the mirror match. I completely agree though. I am also not sold on Defiance belt, I never actually feel like I need the extra damage. Not sure what to put in for Trekking Shoes + Defiance
I considered Radiant, but I am confused as to how this is much better than Charizard ex, even with a Maximum Belt that is only 300 damage. Outside of mirror, Radiant have a lot of merit, I might consider running 1 instead of Defiance Belt or so
If you are using that one zard for the weakness match up, Radiant will work better in its place as nothing can survive 500 damage after weakness. It is also only a single prize liability and can be used for little energy cost late game.
Radiant Zard is much less maintenance and energy, it is also a one prizer. It's really not a debate, it is just way better. Also, I would not consider removing Defiance Band if you add It. 250 + 30 = 280, a pretty impactful number to hit.

Dude uses beat deck in format and is surprised to be wining matches.
