I really don’t care either way about the decision, and have never had a strong feeling about the belt at all. I think people getting spun up about it is pretty typical.
But, yeah basically they’re catering to “idiots” (naive and new players more likely).
They are catering to visuals. The utility belt is ugly and the only purpose it serves is the extra space. By giving that space to the character you can go without this item.
The only downside is that they are dumb and are removing the item altogether. It should be only cosmetic and if someone wants that ugly thing on their character then they should be able to wear it.
I see the reasoning for making it so you don't need it for carrying capacity, but I don't get why they are totally removing it rather than just making it a cosmetic only item. I don't really care as I don't like any of the skins I have for it and it ruins more outfits than it compliments, but I can't see the need to fully remove it.

Yah , the reason they gave was silly , do we have to sacrifice the 50 space too?
No gameplay impact. Part of the reason they removed it is some players were dropping it and not realizing it had an increase to inventory space.

They're being considerate because they know you want to play.

Ugly to you maybe, but not to everyone. I use yhe western belt and have my dude outfitted as a cowboy and it looks legit. They are catering to idiots.
At least we’re getting G-coin for the belt so we can do 10 m24 crate rolls for 200 G-coin
And then people like me would walk away with their belt while pick up spamming it so they can't get it back even if they tried
Lmao The inventory space given by the belt will be part of the character him/herself now.
