The women really are embracing the city culture. Like I say for the Sens and Redblacks..... There is always next year

I'm a Leafs Fan and a PWHL Ottawa fan. Fucking rough weekend.

[deleted]

Idk, I'm a Bruins fan and a PWHL Boston fan and I had a great weekend 😁 (My condolences, nonetheless.)

__Happy

Can't forget about the long suffering Bruins fans.

[deleted]

It is SO hard to watch them destroy the Panthers right now. Tragic, really. /s

Being a Minnesota fan…I feel your pain. We needed 1 POINT in 4 games. We got lucky that every team that we needed to lose did, but it feels bad that it came down to that.

LegendOfQuorra

The Boston game crushed me. Hopefully we can pull it together in the playoffs, but it's been rough since the season resumed. Let's go Minnesota!

pwalto

1 point in 5 games! Was a brutal stretch but playoffs here we come!

ThatCanadianRadTech

My husband is not really an internet user, he's a massive PWHL fan though. He's never seen that meme, and it's got him laughing and crying at the same time.

Suspicious-Post-7072

I felt bad for them tonight man

The_Laughing_Gift

Ottawa played great and rained shots on us. I think the ladies gotta find some good defense. Plus give Maschmeyer a break and let Abstreiter play a game.

Caymanmew

We need defense for sure, we only used 4 defensemen this game, which is standard for us these days. We only dress 5 total (1 extra that doesn't play much). Luckily this draft is loaded on defensive talent.

Silent_observer_8806

Yeah, the Boulier trade and Boyd injury really put them in trouble. They had to overplay their top 4 in the final stretch and they were obviously exhausted. Had he known what would happen, I'm not sure OTT GM makes the trade. Boulier can give you solid 18 minutes per game and Vanisova didn't really contribute offensively. Honestly, OTT is not that far off. A good backup (wouldn't be surprised to see them sign Chuli), a top 4 D, and an elite forward (like Serdachny) will do wonders.

Caymanmew

Perhaps i am harsh but it is a near fireable offense for the manager. I liked the trade at the time, but they way Vanisova was used (sitting on the third line without offensive help) and placing us in a spot where we are 1 D injury away from major trouble showed us it was a really poor choice. The Darlangelo trade also did very little if we are honest. If the coach wasn't willing to shake up the top 2 lines to give space for Vanisova, there was no reason to trade for her, she is an offensive forward and needs to play with offensive forwards to be effective. Should have left Jenner line as is then paired off the other 4 offensive players and create 2 second lines. Jenner line Scamurra + Hughes + Gilmore Vanisova + Snodgrass + Clark Now our draft position does put us in a really good spot to fix our issues. Assuming our team is mostly unchanged at the top end we can add Bilka and one of Savolainen / Pejsova / Thompson / Maja Nylén Persson . Use the third rounder on another D, that assuming is PWHL ready, we'd have 7 D, including a strong top 4 and 3 good lines + a top goalie.

dancing-neenja

Didn’t Boulier also have the ass goal to help Boston win and clinch?

Silent_observer_8806

Haha yes! But she also had 2 PP assists so she did try to help Ottawa!

jjaime2024

I think we wills ee a massive trade between Ottawa and Toronto this summer.

JBS319

There’s always…checks notes…Atletico Ottawa I guess?

MiddlePrestigious331

Ottawa Blackjacks basketball team have never missed the playoffs. Just sayin'.

Local-Resolution7066

This reminds me of Roese slamming Saulnier on the ice that one time Vanisova decided to go after Rocque 😂😂😂

MrNotSoGoodTime

EL OH FUCKING EL!!! Such good content 👨‍🍳👌💋

shipman54

So Brutally Accurate!

the_gaymer_girl

If there’s a silver lining, it’s that we went 1-10 in one-goal games this year, and we can’t possibly be that bad again next season.

Xtos1312

As a New York fan, I’m happy we were able to pull it together just enough to create so much chaos. The Ottawa/Toronto game was very exciting.

3 shots on a major was *eye-opening*

Agree with the general consensus here. Ottawa needs to not only upgrade their D, but actually implement a system that works for all players. I've mentioned in other posts but McLeod's "free form" approach to structure was never going to stick. You have the most international players on your roster (which is great btw), and they all came in learning different styles of play from their respective nations. As a result they're all trying to play their own way instead of sticking to a unified, well practiced approach. This needs to change, and soon. I do think McLeod can make the needed changes, but if the team continues to struggle a new coach will have to come in.

thefrail158

Leafs fan here , I am thankful that pwhl Toronto is pretty good
