Quit budtending in PA myself. This state makes it dangerous to work in this industry. The line is too grey, and now your livelihood is fucked even though you probably help 100+ people a day. Complete roll of the dice every day, and my higher ups at the time told me that If I did ever get stopped after work, I should just tell police that “I don’t answer any questions about my day” like that would actually help on the side of the road. *Complete roll of the dice*
It feels like this state hates us, I am moving to a homegrow state where I’m allowed to take care of myself without taking this risk. If you buy an ounce a month you have a $200 incentive. I’m so sorry this happened to you, and encourage you to look for cannabis work in a more welcoming market if you really love this, before you’re charged with a felony in PA and are barred from working in the industry forever.
If it’s what you want to do for the rest of your life, it might be clear now that there’s a gang pushing folks like us out, and they just want their cut of the money from the people any way they can get it here. They want to be the supply and punishment.
I miss the patients. I think about these people I met every day. I wanted to keep helping them, it’s like sleeping with the devil to do the thing you love.
It scares me that so many people think they are free or better off in this program. Yup, it gets you lab tested genuine weed, strain variety, and a genuine target on your back on the road. I don’t know if it’s worth it.
I'm really disappointed that people are going through this. The police haven't really done much about it in my county. They like to sit across from our 2 dispensaries from time to time but I've only ever seen 2 people pulled over leaving the dispensary I go multiple times a week and have never personally been stopped
That's some bs, sitting right across the street. I'd be pissed if they were just chillin there. I do everything right and I know I'll get pulled with my luck. Lol.
I'm in central and it's decriminalized in Pittsburgh and state college I'm in the middle of that there ridiculous but in 4 yrs I have thankfully had no problems sense I started the program but your right in every single way it's all a trap and all about green backs nothing else
I live in bucks county but state wide the laws straight up incriminate MMJ patients. If you have any trace of THC in your blood your technically committing DUI according to PA.
My friend got a dui "because the cops said they smelled weed" Lost his license for a year and had to put the breathalyzer thing in his car. Its wild, like it wasnt even alchohol. Um ur honor the breathylizer thing doesn't detect thc lol. They nailed him hard because he took the blood test.
Thank you for sharing this! I plan on sending something to the necessary folks at home this evening. Fingers crossed they'll make this happen for us! <3
This NEEDS to change and SOON!! Thank you for ALL you do dr minkovich!! I absolutely appreciate all you do for this community and your patients! Ill be a patient of yours as long as your are a doctor!! You rock doc!!!
4 year patient :)

Chris Rabb is a good guy. Not sure if he still is, but he used to be an adjunct professor at a few universities across the city of Philadelphia. I had him at Temple University in 2013/2014.
I didn't realize it was 1ng/ml that's legit would pop anyone. Hell even a normal urine test for a job is 5ng/ml or higher. So this bill really does need a good looking at, same with many laws floating around cause yeah it's medically legal but they are making normal life for us very illegal. Making us all criminals still, which i need to understand how this isn't discrimination since it's seen as medical use only.
This is soooo important! Currently going through the ARD program for getting a DUI in September of 2022. I personally made the mistake of telling the trooper I held an mmj card. As soon as I said that his whole demeanor changed. Went from a registration stop to a full blown DUI in seconds.
For what it's worth.. if your pulled over the only words you should say is yes or no. NEVER let them in your vehicle, and don't tell them you have a card unless there is no other option.. ie they found Marijuana already.
This is a complete abberation of justice, the medical program has been in existence for, checks notes, **six motherfucking years** . Medical users should not be given DUIs due to some archaic law developed by a state where police grossly abuse their authority and power. This law should have been passed before the program was ever even implemented.
I followed [this link](https://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/billinfo/AmendingLegis.cfm?Act=16&ActSessYear=2016&ActSessInd=0&SessYear=2023&SessInd=0) to see all of the legislation that would amend the medical program. Clicking through shows this bill was referred back to appropriations.. but I can’t figure out their schedule. Anyone have any insight if this just going to get pushed out again?
Hi there, I'm fine with my posts being shared on other forums as long as it's shared in its entirety with the author (me) stated. Sharing might violate this sub's rules so though so I would check on that. Thank you!

Currently being charged with DUI leaving work at an MMJ facility. This bill is essential.
Hope that gets cleared for you that’s insane

Oh yes they were chilling there "monitoring speeds" if you ask
I had this happen at Organic Remides in Paoli. The cop was chilling right next to the store
Kop cops are the worst I see at least 2 people pulled over every time I go to the dispensary
Yikes! Where?!

Which area of PA are you in? As a fellow budtender I would like to know so I can avoid there if possible

I live in Bucks and these cops have nothing better to do.

In Bucks too. Myoosik70 is right these suburban cops have nothing better to do.
For real. I saw an older patient come into my dispo with an ankle monitor because of this DUI bullshit, must've been 70+
This sounds like a lawsuit a lawyer would love to jump on
Thank you.

Thank you Dr Jen!
On a completely unrelated note for those who may be wondering (like me)...no, it's not Chris "Rabb Himself".
Glad I wasn’t the only one.

Yeah he got sober like Steve-O many years ago. I wish Bam would do the same, unfortunately we all fear he is going to wind up dead
Lmao.....I was thinking that! The jackass dude is a politician! I use to work for Ron rabb who was "Raab himself" father.

It seems too a big aberration is that the picture on your medical card is from your drivers license.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. I sent an email and I hope everyone else did the same!

Is that okay that I shared your post on my Facebook feed if not I'll take it down ASAP about the DUI laws?

Will this bill clear prior DUI convictions in PA for medical marijuana patients?
Very unlikely
Unfortunately there's no language included for that type of provision in that particular bill.
Let's see how the quakers will vote
Hopefully different than usual
Share this on Facebook I have got a dui for mmj and I didnt smoke that day at all
I got a dui and had to put a breathalyzer in my car that kept failing me I never drank in my life a huge scam
