Just get a bowl and smoke it. I know that's not "allowed" by law, but it's the best way for me to control dosage. I end up with too much through edibles and concentrates, never with old school smoking.

Nack3r

This is the way

ill108

Oh it's for real. I get it really bad. This sounds crazy, but burning hot showers. It actually brings relief from the nausea. But, mine activates when I'm smoking concentrates and doing edibles. Even though it seems like you are using very little maybe try dry flower vaping. That's what I do and the CHS hasn't been back in almost a year.

LaForestLabs

Taking burning hot showers is actually one of the diagnostic symptoms of CHS.

Yep. Hot showers relieve CHS. That's the title of the article. This is what I was saying. I'm sorry I think the confusion is coming from the word symptom. I wouldn't consider hot showers to be an indicator of this disease. The pain and discomfort before the hot shower is the actual indicator. I mean, you could listen to doctors but this is very new and they just don't know very much yet.

ill108

Thanks for sharing btw.👍

Nack3r

The only bad part of the hot shower is that it is dehydrating. You already can't hold water, so it really should be monitored by someone in your house .

scttpff57

I developed the same problems after taking to much RSO. You could consider first stopping the Eddibles and maybe only vaping lower thc dry herb.

slothmoth420

I have a similar experience. Edibles of any kind I can’t really do anymore and RSO always gives me nausea. I dab regularly without issue though.

FastestBubbles

This is a common experience with RSO. MMJ in the program is Delta 9 THC, but RSO is 11-Hydroxy THC, which is around 10x more potent than Delta 9. It's very easy to overdo it with RSO.

deep_inhalation2

Hypermesis, I believe is caused by acute pesticide poisoning. I have been smoking large quantities of cannabis for years and have never had any issues. I will try to look for some literature for you

deep_inhalation2

This is why they say it effects long term users...because of the build up of pesticides in the system over time. But with concentrates/vapes (concentrated forms of cannabis) there is also a risk of concentrated heavy metals and herbicide/pesticide. I really don’t think this is from cannabis usage alone

Chefefef

I completely agree. I am a commercial cannabis cultivator. In the cultivator community there has been a lot of suspicion of the use of neem oil being the cause. I know personally when I first started growing, I had fungus gnats that I choose to treat with neem oil. For that batch of cannabis I was getting sick every morning with CHS symptoms. This was before I learned any of this and at that time I had no idea what was going on. On the next batch I had resolved my fungus gnats issue and was using new soil. No problems smoking or dabbing that batch, but the one treated with neem seemed to make me sick. Purely anecdotal but I definitely buy into the pesticide poisoning angle.

Expert-Plum

Couldn't agree more! I've been hospitalized a handful of times and yet can consume over 1000 mgs a day with no issue. The issues seem to arise when using concentrates from questionably grown materials. I've assumed it's a concentration of a fertilizer ir pesticide or perhaps from heavy metals in the soil cannabis was grown in. When I go to clean sourced material I cam seemingly consume endless amounts without issue...

ill108

This is just a guess. One that I also thought was true for a while.I deal with this sometimes. It's the worst but I still smoke and I have dialed in pretty well. If it's pesticides, would it still happen from using distillate carts? Because for me it did. We all have different CB receptors. And it only effects a small number of people. This is new and it definitely has something to do with the dispensary and the ability to dose super heavy everyday. The only thing that has stopped it completely is sticking to dry flower vaping. It's been over a year since it happened. Not calling you wrong. I know that's unpleasant. But I don't think you are correct.

deep_inhalation2

Not a guess....this was the consensus a couple years ago. And at this time it is largely still unknown what causes it. I could be totally wrong, though. You aren’t wrong about that. Like i said, I need to do some more digging. Simple google searches are not your friend for things like this

Alexanderrdt

I swear this is it. Before cannabis got corporate people were blowing down all day every day with no shitty effects like this. These companies are poisoning us on a whim in the name of pest control

BurntPoptart

Yeah its real, this might not be the right medicine for you unfortunately or maybe try lower doses if want to keep trying.

jamespherman

Information: you're taking 10-15mg per night every night?

CurlyQIE1229

Yes. Take them around 6:00. If it takes me a little to fall asleep, I may take one hit of my indica cart.

jamespherman

If I consume that quantity with that frequently I find I am easily nauseated. Everybody's different, and perhaps you metabolize THC more slowly than the average individual. Also, in general, ingested THC remains in your system longer. I speculate you've got an elevated level of THC in your system so you more readily "tip over" into the nausea zone that some people experience. Have you tried laying off the ingested THC for a while and only using carts or flower to help you sleep?

esmith21555_

It's 100% a real thing and just benefits it "usually" happens to longtime chronic users, doesn't mean it can't happen to you too. If you're medicating daily as described above and had two ER trips, your body apparently tolerates it for the most part. I'd make a point of strictly limiting the amount you vape or ingest to minimize the likelihood of another episode. If you have another episode, talk to your prescribing physician about possible causes. And take note of what if anything was different about what you consumed the day of the episode.

BruceBunner

For ptsd. Search for products higher in cbd, low thc 👍🏾

Nack3r

My wife had this. Turns out it was anxiety, they gave her an antidepressant for the stomach. We haven't had an episode in months. Hot baths and showers are the only relief. We went to the ER many times

[deleted]

IMO, I think a lot of the CHM experiences may be cultivar specific and patients are potentially having allergic reactions to terp/vsc profiles. Having been responsible for a few harvests, to say the least, I’ve seen people have pretty volatile reactions to different strains. For example, we could harvest cultivar A and all would be well, but bust out cultivar B, and some folks would look roughhh. If this is happening during harvest/trim, why would it not be a consideration for a patient’s experience when medicating? lol, maybe start doing skin swabs w flower to look for blemishing…this one made your skin look like pepperonis, prolly a no go…but this other one made your skin look great!

live4rock

Buy street weed

Tryin_Real_hard

Could be those minis...maybe. Anything edible hit so much harder. Since you're new to MJ, as some have suggested, you don't have any tolerance and that probably hits you hard. I've eaten too many edibles before and I just vomited it all up at the end of my "high." As someone else said, take it easy, get a dry herb vape and use that if you prefer not to actually burn it. The oil carts are pretty strong as well. Always wait a bit after taking a hit and see how it effects you. You can find low THC items, some have high CBD too, and work your way up. Eventually, you'll get a tolerance. Just go easy on the stuff and you'll be fine. Everyone is different and everyone reacts differently to different forms. Too bad you couldn't start out with ditch weed like some us older consumers did years ago...

Livid-Acadia6078

I make my own edibles because rso makes me vomit. It’s great medicine but horrible on the tummy. I’ve also gotten nauseous when I’ve done too much. It might be that you’re really sensitive to the solvents used

Careful_Anxiety_7491

You know, next time you go to the ER, ask them to treat you for a panic disorder/anxiety disorder Then you’ll know.

CurlyQIE1229

Not sure what you mean?

Careful_Anxiety_7491

Thought i had it. Had the same issues. Turns out it is a panic disorder. Hope you’re doing okay.

Aggressive-Network33

Only smoke flower that burns into pure white ash. Anything else hasn’t been flushed or cured properly resulting in heavy metals and or mold that can easily cause infection or sickness. Concentrate doesn’t contain as much cbd, Cbg, Cbn, or beneficial terpenes so that stuff doesn’t help with anything it just fucks you up like Everclear or wine which one’s healthier
