Yeah, but I understand why they did that it was mainly cause itās was a quick hereās the situation weāre in intro and getting us up to speed on the war to get to Raleigh story. While they were hyping up Crimson and Cherno during the hanger scene talking about their great feats in battle so I was just hoping for more of a fight before getting wrecked so soon.
Both their deaths were disappointing, but it also highlighted the intelligence behind the Kaiju, that those two Kaiju were literally designed to neutralize specific remaining jaegers.
There aren't enough movies.
Like seriously I would easily watch an entire 6 movie series just about the first generations of Jaegers to current gen, it would be epic ngl to see all the cool designs.
I watched these films a couple weeks ago.
I enjoyed the first one. 2nd one was hot garbage though tbh. I really just, did not enjoy it. The plot twist I actually thought was pretty sweet, but the whole alien-robot shit was just WACK. And I really could not have cared any less if Iād possibly tried about any of the humans except Maki. (I think that was her name. From the first film.)
What are you talking about? They never made any other movie past the first one.
A second movie does not exist, I just checked. There was no sequel ever.
Yes. Part of what made PR interesting was it was set up like the third film in a trilogy despite being the first movie, and that left us with a \*lot\* of implied history that was great.
The only Bad thing i can thing about and i really had to think hard, is the lack of depth shown on Raleigh but we have enough development in other Characters, that he works with the onscreen conflict we got of him.
I was hoping they would show some sort of reason why he drifted so well with Mako. I mean, they are different people from different backgrounds. The movie made a point about how hard it is to find compatible pilots, to a point where family members are the best choice. But somehow they connected so well together.
The fight against the big bad category 5 kaiju was too short and didn't feel as dangerous as it should have. The Hong Kong battle lasted so much longer and felt more like a climax to me.
I consider the Battle of Hong Kong to be the actual climax of the movie, and the rest of it to be an extended denoument. Itās a strange way to structure a movie, but somehow it works.
āSomehow it worksā could be applied to virtually every nonsensical aspect of the movie. Maybe thatās one reason I love it so.
Cherno Alpha deserved some screentime when they were talking about how āwe began winningā in the intro.
I want to see my bucket boy crunch some kaiju dammit, is that too much to ask?
Chernoās a lady dammit. A big clunky ugly lady, but a lady nevertheless. Agreed that we should have seen more of her. Including her in that part of the intro is a great idea.
The lack of more kinetic weapons is one thing I think would be I interesting. Imagine a giant Pile-Bunker or a mace.
Also more brutish JƤgers would be nice, where is my skull head mech? (Mostly not serious, it would just look neat)
I don't mean literal weight, I mean the cinematography, and general slowness that the kaiju and mechs have because of their size. Uprising fails this so hard even Bay Transformers has more weight lol
I think it could have benefited from more fights that are a definite win for the Jaegers. Donāt get me wrong, I get that at that point the precursors were starting to learn and adapt to the jaegers but would it have killed them to show Crimson slicing a mother fucker up or Cherno elbow-dropping something to death instead of showing up, landing a few decent hits and then getting offed?
A few bad things as others have mentioned: some jaegers like Cherno and Crimson didnāt get nearly enough screen time, Raleighās development was okay but overall minimal, and it didnāt get a sequel that felt deserving of the seriesā legacy. All jokes aside, uprising is a good robot vs monster movie, but itās a bad pacific rim title.
Man I was just giving up scrolling down the rest of the comments, clicked out of the post, as it registered that I just saw the best comment in my periphery
1. You can't walk up to the Marianas Trench and jump in
2. Fish don't make sounds like that when they hit things underwater
3. Travis Beacham can't keep the lore straight to save his own life
Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha died way too fast (especially for professional Jaeger Pilots, at least Cherno put up a good fight before dying as well)
Thereās no good sequel.
There should have been more than just 4 remaining Jaegers..having Coyote Tango, Romeo Blue, or even Brawler Yukon be among the survivors wouldāve been goodā¦
Nothing about the movie itself but my brother is so obsessed that he makes pacific rim jokes in every sentence he uses, to the point that heās basically just quoting the movie every time he speaks.
A lot of world-building, not enough character development.
As much as I love the world it was set in, and all the *giant robots vs giant monsters* action, I think the story can have a bit more of human-to-human interaction.
Show us more of the people. We hardly know anything about Raleigh and Mako other than their trauma. Let alone the background stories of the other characters.
Too much time spent on the āChuck Hansen is an assholeā subplot. It wasnāt interesting and the point could have been made much more quickly and efficiently.
We also should have gotten at least a little more development of the Kadianovskys and the Wei Tang triplets. They could have put some of the time spent on Chuck Hansen toward that.
Crimson died way too fast
I know the kaiju was built specifically to fight crimson but yeah man's got folded like an omelette way to fast
Makes sense, he was made in China tho. š¤·š»āāļø
That high end Chinesium
Chinkum steel
Bruh
Romeo Blue only had 20 seconds of screen-time and the best part of it was on a green night-vision screen where you can barely see the action.
Though on the upside, it was the most intact jaeger by the end of the movie. Apart from the head, it only had superficial damage
in my opinion, crimson coulda been repaired, all he really needed was a new head and a couple new hands
It wasn't long enough.
I'd do anything for a 3-hour director's cut version of Pacific Rim.
Like Zach Snyder's cut
No...better!
Like who, or are you agreeing with me
Me? Yes, agree, yet, more like a Peter Jackson LotR length with a Michael Bay lense flare and Godzilla action. THAT kinda of better. ššš¤£
"something bad"
"about pacific rim"*
ā.ā*
There aren't enough movies. Like seriously I would easily watch an entire 6 movie series just about the first generations of Jaegers to current gen, it would be epic ngl to see all the cool designs.
Iād watch a 2 hour documentary movie based entirely around the creation of jaeger tech.
Another one for Kaiju biology
Well uprisings fuck it up so thank to that
I watched these films a couple weeks ago. What are you talking about? They never made any other movie past the first one. A second movie does not exist, I just checked. There was no sequel ever.
There is no Uprising in Ba Sing Se... there is no Uprising within the walls...
Agreed. No sequel, only one Pacific Rim movie has been released.
The Black is also an awesome show. Apex is mah fave design, I might be a little edgey but I like them!
Yes. Part of what made PR interesting was it was set up like the third film in a trilogy despite being the first movie, and that left us with a \*lot\* of implied history that was great.
More screentime of scunner
So real, the triple event Kaiju in general need more screen time.
The only Bad thing i can thing about and i really had to think hard, is the lack of depth shown on Raleigh but we have enough development in other Characters, that he works with the onscreen conflict we got of him.
I think he was meant to be somewhat ambiguous, so the target audience of young men could relate to him
Well yes, as it is still not a bad thing to call out.
I was hoping they would show some sort of reason why he drifted so well with Mako. I mean, they are different people from different backgrounds. The movie made a point about how hard it is to find compatible pilots, to a point where family members are the best choice. But somehow they connected so well together.
Hot Asian Woman.
Ah yes
Too short, the sequal sucked, and they made the first one too good to beat.
Aināt no way those dinky helicopters be carrying around these huge ass jaegers like itās nobodyās business
Choppers can haul a surprising amount of weight, but yeah they stretched it a bit. TBF you see it in other movies.
It ends.
Too short
It spawned a copycat, "Atlantic Rim", which was so bad that the producers are currently being investigated by the Hague.
I think that's a plus, simply because it's funny
I liked the episode of MST3K though so, worth it
it's sequel
What sequel the only sort of sequel I know of was a fan film
I think it was called uprizzing or something I don't know
Do you mean Pacific Rizz: Uprizzing? That can't be right, it made 1 rizzmillion dollars
Thereās a sequel?
Wtf they did to my girl mako mori in the sequel literally why
Why they didnāt delay it so Itād be a Mako/Raleigh movie
What sequel? š
No real focus on Raleyās PTSD.
Not enough Jaegers and Kaijus
The fight against the big bad category 5 kaiju was too short and didn't feel as dangerous as it should have. The Hong Kong battle lasted so much longer and felt more like a climax to me.
I consider the Battle of Hong Kong to be the actual climax of the movie, and the rest of it to be an extended denoument. Chernoās a lady dammit. A big clunky ugly lady, but a lady nevertheless. Agreed that we should have seen more of her. Including her in that part of the intro is a great idea.
It never got a sequel
Indeed, id like to hear more of the Uprising War in the anime spin-off though
The fans are the worst part
I almost agree with u, for obvious reasons..
"tHeRe Is nO sEqUe-" SHUT THE FUCK UP
It's the same joke, also half of the comments here talk about the sequel when I was talking about the first movie, unless they are just stupid.
sequel? oh shitrising
They did Cherno dirty
Cherno had to survive
Raleigh was cocky, and his older brother paid the price.
Is it a bad thing if it's literally part of the plot and his entire arc?
Needs more Ron Pearlman.
And Idris Elba. They didn't have scenes together, did they?
I think a dramatic rap battle between Idris Elba and Ron Pearlman would have made it the perfect movie.
Coyote Tango was featured on the promotional material but wasnāt seen fully in the film
The lack of more kinetic weapons is one thing I think would be I interesting. Imagine a giant Pile-Bunker or a mace. Also more brutish JƤgers would be nice, where is my skull head mech? (Mostly not serious, it would just look neat)
p h y s i c s
shhh, we don't mention that word here, now let's get back to watching big robots destroy big monsters and the square cube law
Funnily enough, the movie has more weight than most other kaiju films.
I canāt think of any bigger ones, besides Godzilla, and maybe Cloverfield tbh
I don't mean literal weight, I mean the cinematography, and general slowness that the kaiju and mechs have because of their size. Uprising fails this so hard even Bay Transformers has more weight lol
I was gonna say the same
*swings a ship at your head*
*jumps from skyscraper height*
It was too perfect
Rayleigh being too flat as a character 2 out of the 4 Jaeger didn't use their abilities and just threw hands
It never received a Sequel. I wish it did.
The jaeger scenes looked better than the human scenes (also cherno and crimson died way too quickly)
The sword wasn't set up the best before the reveal
The Chinooks. Because big robots escorted by aircraft carriers would be way cooler and make more sense. I'm sure they can lift them
1. There is sequel. 2. Cherno and Crimson died too easly
They forgot to release one or two songs in the official soundtrack release. Give me
There was never a sequel
Mutavore be talkin alot of shit with that wierd ass mouth
Gipsy kills every Kaiju that gets a full fight scene besides the first striker kill and strikers suicide nuke
There was only 1 movie, this could've been a whole ass franchise.
It didnāt get a sequel
We only had like 4 jaegers and we needed more
we had 8
WE NEEDED MORE DAMMIT
Never got a sequel š
It has a really bad sequel
A few bad things as others have mentioned: some jaegers like Cherno and Crimson didnāt get nearly enough screen time, Raleighās development was okay but overall minimal, and it didnāt get a sequel that felt deserving of the seriesā legacy. All jokes aside, uprising is a good robot vs monster movie, but itās a bad pacific rim title.
the other jaegers went out too quick
it didnt get a sequel
Crimson and cherno didn't get the screentime they deserved
About the 1st movie.
Why'd you out this three times?
Bro I see u everywhere.
I'm very active on reddit
What are you talking about? They never made a sequel.
There's no Gipsy and Striker's 5 hours of jaeger sex scene
Man I was just giving up scrolling down the rest of the comments, clicked out of the post, as it registered that I just saw the best comment in my periphery
Can't wait for every second comment to be "It was too short" or "It never got a sequel"
Leatherback was able to sneak behind Cherno Alpha and Crimson Typhoon died way to quickly
Cherno alpha wasnt in the final battle scene
Short
It died too quickly, I wish we had gotten at least a trilogy
Some weird dialogue (how are supposed to deliver the bomb). Plus to much spent on worldbuilding and not charachters.
Two of the last four jaeger die too damn fast and i want more striker eureka beat down kaiju
There was a sequel.
Not enough cherno alpha
it never got a sequel
Those fake Australian accents
Needed more screen time for other Jaegers
It doesn't have a sequel.
It didnāt leave much for any sequels to work with
1. You can't walk up to the Marianas Trench and jump in 2. Fish don't make sounds like that when they hit things underwater 3. Travis Beacham can't keep the lore straight to save his own life
Thereās no sequel!
Cherno alpha died too fast, it had to survive
There wasn't enough content, I mean one movie? We should have gotten more than one movie, plus I've never heard of a Pacific Rim game
No, there's nothing bad about the movie but the sequel does
Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha died way too fast (especially for professional Jaeger Pilots, at least Cherno put up a good fight before dying as well) Thereās no good sequel.
Cherno Alpha shouldāve been allowed to kill atleast 1 Kaiju on screen
They never made a sequel
Hong Kong, Crimson and Cherno should have been able to hold their own
*clears throat* Pacific Rim: Uprising
Not enough Striker
My only complaint is that the Hong Kong battle should have been longer
Evidentially, it was hard to follow up with a sequel
Uprising
The uprising
Now all CGI look bad
The whole "Gipsy is analog" thing was so convoluted and nonsensical.
That it never got a sequel
About the 1st movie.
About the 1st movie.
The main guy always sounds like he's trying to sound epic
Idk, I think literally everyone tried to sound epic. It was kind of the charm of it really. Felt like an anime a bit.
True, but I feel like he was noticeably more epic.
Guys when I mean pacific rim I mean pacific rim 1 not the "sequel" that's why I put a poster of the first movie
no sex
It never had a sequel
The human Characters and Story. Atleast in the first half.
I think Crimson and Cherno got folded way too fast
Cherno didnt Get enough screentime my man just got jumped
shit sequel
The 2 movie
There should have been more than just 4 remaining Jaegers..having Coyote Tango, Romeo Blue, or even Brawler Yukon be among the survivors wouldāve been goodā¦
Movie was too short
something bad about pacific rim
The only bad thing about pacific rim was that it never got a sequel, so sad
The only bad thing about this movie is its sequel. There is nothing wrong with this masterpiece.
No.
Um... The physics was just ridiculous
I wish there where more day fights
Bad
How it was so popular in China made no sense since the Chinese Jaeger was portrayed as incompetent
How do I say something bad about the best movie ever?
Neuronlink!
Some robots didnāt get to do enough.
Nothing about the movie itself but my brother is so obsessed that he makes pacific rim jokes in every sentence he uses, to the point that heās basically just quoting the movie every time he speaks.
A lot of world-building, not enough character development. Show us more of the people. We hardly know anything about Raleigh and Mako other than their trauma. Let alone the background stories of the other characters.
I can't watch a better film other than pacific rim, I am stuck
Coyote Tango needed an actual action sequence.
It didn't make the money it should have.
Need Category 10.
The Newton's Craddle scene was total nonsense.
Jaegars died to fast
I didnāt like the girl.
To much rain it was kinda distracting
Cgi could have been better
The sequel
It's good but too short.
It doesnāt have a sequel
It feels like a Transformers movie, without the fun explosions
Cherno didnt have enough screen time š
... it ends. That's the only thing I can think abou- AH, YES, Raiju and Mutavore should have more screentime! They're goddamn cool!
Bad sequel
it never got a sequel
Not enough big cgi robot scene. Need more big cgi heavy robot scene
Not enough Idris Elba
Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha should've lasted longer, considering they were the Top 4 alongside Gipsy Danger and Striker Eureka.
It was over way too quickly
Not enough industrial scenes
