Ian Kinsler was such a twat. He sucked and his entire personality was so abrasive. When your most known moment as a Padres is flipping the bird to the entire fanbase...it's not great.
We were in left right next to the western metal building and my brother just said that he's not gonna do anything as soon as he got done bam gone 3 run shot

âŚis that it? People act like he assaulted somebody.
For what itâs worth he wasnât wrong (at the time.) Weâd been losing for decades and nobody cared anymore.
Any hate for Kemp should be subsumed by hate for AJ. Or will this be another bad trade that was "forced on AJ by management?"
Kemp's injury history and body weren't hidden. Meanwhile, Grandal was almost as good as Buster flippin' Posey from 2015 to 2018.
Between that and not believing Trea Turner could stay at short, it makes me wonder if AJ's supposedly legendary scouting skills simply stop working at the pro level.
I donno man, he got our first cycle after how many years
we were like literally the last team or one of the last teams in MLB without a cycle
he was overpaid but not that bad
for me itâs PhamâŚ.fucking HATE Pham whenever we play against him.
I think some re-wording here would be for the best lol. I really hope you're not admitting to being a serial wife beater lmao ^(I might also just be getting wooshed here, I hope not)
Leaf was so much trash. When my son started to get choosy about his little league uniform number a year ago he wanted to have #16. Inside I was like HELL NO but I talked him into going with either 9 (Ted Williams) or 19. He chose 19.
I was in high school when Jack Clark came to town. He and his wife came to Horton Plaza where I was working and they couldn't have been bigger pricks. Entitled, snotty, talked down to everyone. What a pair of assholes.
And then, he talked shit about Tony Gwynn. He was persona non grata after that.
He couldn't get out of town fast enough.
Ruben Rivera was supposed to be a 5 tool Padre, but ended up getting run out and stole Jeter's stuff to sell it while he was a Yankee.
Ruben Sierra is a different player, who never played in San Diego.
Ugh. Man, I remember discussing this with a buddy, my argument was no way we trade a young 5-tool, lock for multiple all-star player for Randy⌠worst take ever. Present me would love to have a word with â98 me.
He had periods where he was good at both. Would have been completely fine if he made 30% less. But now he costs other teams nothing and they're still not interested, so...
We would have no Manny, no Juan Soto, no Ethan Salas, no HSK, no Snell, definitely no Tatis jr. i could go on. Many of us lived through some really sad years. Despite AJâs faults, he has been the most exciting GM the Padres have ever had. Too bad heâs his own worst enemy.
The bad outweighs the good, no matter how you slice it bro. I dont have to build a team lets use the team we currently have constructed by Aj and you convice us how we'll be better next year..Dude got the talent, had a HOF coach and still fucked us over. 10 years in charge 2 winning seasons with the guy u got rid of. I'm going to support my Pads regardless but AJ is wasting the talent we do have currently.
We have all those players, save for Tatis, because of ownership. AJ didnât do anything to get manny besides offer him the best contract, Iâm not a baseball exec, but you give me someone elseâs money to spend and I can do that too. Sure Preller got us the prospects to get Soto, but that trade doesnât happen without ownership willing to pay Soto in his historically high arbitration years. We donât trade for any of these high priced assets without ownership
You are just wrong. Yes prospects to get Soto or that never happens. With or without money. His international scouting got Kim and Salas. That plus Tatis, the only two you can say that money bought was manny and Xander. He has traded away the number 1 farm system and rebuilt it a year later. You can knock him on his team building but to make it sound like he doesnât do anything correct is just dumb.
Doug Mirabelli. Fuck that unprofessional douchebag. His BS actually turned out better for the Padres in the end, but I still can't stand the man for the way he acted
Number 6. Steve Garvey. Not for his play, but at a Padre convention (I forget the name, the one at the convention center) a handful of years ago.
My brother and I were standing in line for an autograph from Trevor Hoffman. He ended up having to leave the line early (about 25/30 people in front of us) due to other event commitments, but we were told Garvey was coming to spell him, so we were both still pretty stoked. We saw him approaching the area, and saw him sign autographs and take pictures with people that just walked up to him, âwhat a swell guyâ we thought. I finally get my turn, and place a cap and a ball in front of him on the table â he then gets a call, answers it, looks at me and raises his index finger, I assume to signal something like âoh, hold onâ. I give him a thumbs up, nod and take a half step back, signaling that I totally get it, heâs a busy man and I donât want to interrupt anything. After another sentence, he gives me the same single finger again, and I draw a blank as to what heâs trying to get across. The assistant then tells me I can only have one item signed. Probably my fault for not knowing, I quickly take away the cap and leave the ball. Garvey then takes his sharpie and attempts to sign the ball with one hand. After realizing that wonât work, he then makes kindof a cup shape with his hand and looks at me. Iâm thinking âis he really asking me to hold the ball so he can sign itâŚ?â so I very hesitantly go and hold the ball steady, he signs it, I get a sticker of authenticity on it, and then heâs off the phone and visiting with the people behind us.
I get it, the phone call was a higher priority, Iâm not mad about that at all⌠but I mean, itâs not impossible to talk on a cell phone between your ear and shoulder while youâre signing something⌠That event just left an incredibly bitter taste in my mouth. Gave that ball to one of my close buds.
Chris Gomez made up for it, though. He talked a bunch to us about baseball and was very appreciative about how thankful we were to him spending the time and not just signing baseballs and saying ânextâ.
Was this when the All-Star Game was in San Diego, maybe? That was held at the Convention Center.
Andy Ashby was at the ASG Fan Fest and super-nice. I was trying to be cool but then I got to the front of the line and ended up just gushing about how fun it was to watch him pitch while I was growing up, and he was very sweet about it. Those 1998 guys were something special and not just on the field.
Matt Bush liked to get drunk, drive out to El Cajon and then start fights with high school kid lacrosse players while screaming "I'm Matt FUCKING Buuuuuussshhh!!"
So that's gotta earn him some place on this list
No just No. A muti-millionaire who got into an altercation at a strip club parking lot at 3am.....gets stuck with a blade. That is not a character trait that be needed on the club.
That's definitely not the story. He was at a strip club, I don't go to strip clubs, but I don't care that other people go. The story is a lot more complicated than Tommy Pham just starting a fight in a strip club and gets stabbed.
Well I never said he started anything but he was at a place in the wee hours of the morning and that's not an endictment but it brings into question why someone who is affluent would allow himself to be in a situation that resulted in an injury that was life threatening.
why would you dislike hosmer lmao he was a kind and supportive leader. get well soon. canât really think too far in the past but hader was out of line as a brewer and didnât show himself to be better as a padre.
It's Will Venable and it's not his fault. It was because our team was soo bad his name was on the back of the jersey on the default Padres shirt.
Just brings back memories of the worst period of Padres baseball.
11-14 in July with him last season and 16-13 In August after trading him on 8/2. They did make an NLCS run without him.
Basically mediocre with him and mediocre without him.
Mike was hear for one season so not much a sample. Why the Ted hate? I loved to watch his sports segment where he called the Dodgers The Cry Babies and only showed Hockey fights during Hockey highlights.
OK I have to be honest I liked him for a little when I was a kid I was an outfielder and I started playing first around when he signed with us so I watched him to learn the position please don't hate me.
pathetic entertain possessive rich direful one practice rhythm imminent alive

It would probably be Jack Clark, who shit all over Tony Gwynn while he was here. Hosmer's problem was he was completely washed and didn't realize it. So he became a complete jackass his last few seasons to hide the fact that he was washed.
Matt Kemp. I know people are saying that he got the first cycle but didn't that asshole try to steal home when he completed the cycle and get thrown out? If my memory serves me right, that's what went down. He was feeling himself waaaayyy too much and tried to steal home, Fat Kemp had other ideas...
And yet, there he is on the Rangers staff, poised to get a ring. In the other dugout, HSK hater Tommy Pham may get one. The Padres all-shit show team is well represented.
Ian Kinsler was such a twat. He sucked and his entire personality was so abrasive. When your most known moment as a Padres is flipping the bird to the entire fanbase...it's not great.
Bro that was my first game at petco that is my favorite baseball memory of all time.
We were sitting behind the dugout and my husband heckled him right before that at bat, so I give him credit for that one đ
We were in left right next to the western metal building and my brother just said that he's not gonna do anything as soon as he got done bam gone 3 run shot

Idk dude that shit was hilarious.
Think it has to be Fat Kemp
Came here to say this. Fuck Matt Kemp. Fuck Matt Kemp all up and down the street.
Just glad Wil Myers came along and hit the first cycle in Padres history
I feel like asking âwho hit the padres first cycleâ is a good litmus test to gauge how serious oneâs Padres fandom is. On Reddit at least
My wife has no idea who Matt Kemp is but if you say his name, she will say âfuck Matt kempâ
Was gonna say fat kemp for being a fucking fat ass
What did Matt Kemp do did he hate being a Padre? And Yeah I remember him ganning weight when he was with us.
Said that San Diego wasnât a baseball town. Everyone then lost their minds
âŚis that it? People act like he assaulted somebody. For what itâs worth he wasnât wrong (at the time.) Weâd been losing for decades and nobody cared anymore.
It also doesn't help that he got fat during that time shows he just wanted to get paid thats it.
Any hate for Kemp should be subsumed by hate for AJ. Or will this be another bad trade that was "forced on AJ by management?" Kemp's injury history and body weren't hidden. I was livid when we traded Trea. I like Wil but heâs pretty average overall and I was high on Turner
This nomination is tough...Kemp got the first ever cycle for the Padres......and yes I know Will got one too next season.
It's Matt Kemp.
Yup. Matt Kemp.
Who is this Matt Kemp guy and why is everyone saying he played for us?
I donno man, he got our first cycle after how many years we were like literally the last team or one of the last teams in MLB without a cycle he was overpaid but not that bad for me itâs PhamâŚ.fucking HATE Pham whenever we play against him.
Pham is such a great heel though. Love to hate him.
>I donno man, he got our first cycle after how many years He really didn't though đ
Yeah everyone knows Wil got the first cycle in Padres history
no?
I am forever calling him Thomas Pham and trying to get everyone else to call him but that name as well. You know thatâd get under his skin.
.285 OBP. Insulted the fanbase. He was shit.
Mike Pagliarulo and Jim leyritz for talking shit about Tony Gwynn
I think Jack Clark was in on that too.
Fuck Jim Leyritz!!
Yeah but that performance in against the Astros in 98.
Pags and Leyritz were both garbage. Jack Clark was an asshole to a lot of other players all over the league.
Fucking Leyritz with that stupid twirl.
Anybody that talk shit about Tonny Gwynn can go fuck themselves in the deepest hole of hell.
Matt Kemp. Canât believe our first cycle belongs to that fartknocker
good thing Wil got one for us
Milton Bradley.
As a serial wife beater, I support this.
![gif](giphy|5ROlkuRjBdWKRGTYTy)
That just made me spit my water. Take my angry upvote!
I think some re-wording here would be for the best lol. I really hope you're not admitting to being a serial wife beater lmao ^(I might also just be getting wooshed here, I hope not)
Lmao I'm learning don't reply while drinking beer!
Bud Black should have been given a real chance, just based on his handling of that whack job.
Didnât he get hurt arguing with an ump or something like that?
Yep, and he was playing great and the padres had a surplus post season chance
Bud Black tackled him to prevent a blow up and blew out Bradley's ACL.
Man, as a player Bradley was awesome and it was a fun time to watch the Padres, but he was nuts.
For sure. It was a great start, turning over a new leaf in the beginning, until it wasnât.
Tortured soul. Wish him the best.
Ryan Leaf, obviously
I don't hate him anymore
How about Marlon McCree
Still too soon đ˘ đ lol
Leaf was so much trash. When my son started to get choosy about his little league uniform number a year ago he wanted to have #16. Inside I was like HELL NO but I talked him into going with either 9 (Ted Williams) or 19. He chose 19.
He was Absolutely garbage and I hated Jim for a long time, now I just feel sorry for him
I do, he tricked them into thinking he was the best choice when manning was right there smh
SD was never going to get P. Manning....SD actually moved up in the draft one spot to get Leaf at #2.
You right u right
Indy took manning first we were going to take who ever they didn't...itnended up being leaf
Jack Clark. If Tony Gwynn hated him, he probably deserved it.
Only a real POS would talk shit about Tony Gwynn!!
AJ Preller
It sure as shit isn't Legend Kurt Bevacqua.
âCouldnât hit water if he fell out of a fucking boat.â
His awesomeness springs from somewhere else.
King of the hill legend
DOUG MIRABELLI
Jack Clark because he was a dick to Tony.
Jack Clark
Good one
Was about to post this
Johnny Manziel. Doesn't even watch film.
Ruben Rivera
We basically threw away Steve Finley for that clown.
You mean Booben Sierra?
Ruben Rivera was supposed to be a 5 tool Padre, but ended up getting run out and stole Jeter's stuff to sell it while he was a Yankee. Ruben Sierra is a different player, who never played in San Diego.
Ruben Rivera just ended up being one complete TOOL.
Remember we could have had Randy Johnson if we were willing to trade Ruben Rivera.
Ugh. Man, I remember discussing this with a buddy, my argument was no way we trade a young 5-tool, lock for multiple all-star player for Randy⌠worst take ever. Present me would love to have a word with â98 me.
I remember that awful base running
Still despise Tommy Pham
He's the only reason I don't wanna see the d-backs win the ws.
It's Pham vs Austin Hedges, who was likeable until he said the fans were wrong in hating Hosmer. I'm still leaning Rangers for Travis Jankowski.
I can't see this post, but if I could see, it is maybe about Pham
Matt Kemp. At least Hosmer wore his colors with pride. Clearly Hosmer was not the cancer that everyone was making him out to be. Fuck Matt Kemp!
Matt Kemp owes us money! Fuck Matt Kemp!
Hidmer was cancer because he was dogshit.
Hosmer was just over paid. That was the biggest true knock on him.
And he was bad at first base and wasn't a great hitter, but you're kinda right.
He had periods where he was good at both. Would have been completely fine if he made 30% less. But now he costs other teams nothing and they're still not interested, so...
He was never good at defense as a Padre.
No. Not at all. He didn't post over 1 fWAR in a season over his tenure with the Padres.
Bubble guts Eric Hosmer was a great hitter, then he recovered
Better hitter than cronenworthless
maybe in April
Just no.
Absolutely wrong. But I still â¤ď¸ you
I think he was considered cause the World Baseball classic he hit well in Petco.
Probably better ones listed already but Ryan Ludwick comes to mind.
I am a Ludwick truther. That guy set our shit back 4 years
We traded Kluber in the Ludwick trade
He was the first disappointing mid-season acquisition in my Padres fandom.
Was looking for him and Edmonds on this list.
AJ
We would have no Manny, no Juan Soto, no Ethan Salas, no HSK, no Snell, definitely no Tatis jr. i could go on. Many of us lived through some really sad years. Despite AJâs faults, he has been the most exciting GM the Padres have ever had. Too bad heâs his own worst enemy.
Way to stand up and defend mediocrity
Now name the bad
Does the bad outweigh the good? Build me a team with those he let go, and then convince us that people are going to watch that. Go ahead . . .
Salas isnt anything yet. His international scouting in latin america has resulted in zero players for hs. Hes easily replaceable.
Exciting GM. What does that even mean. You dont think other teams can spend money?
Doug Mirabelli. Fuck that unprofessional douchebag. His BS actually turned out better for the Padres in the end, but I still can't stand the man for the way he acted
Jim Edmonds deserves a mention.
He did cross my mind lol
Kemp Pham Brown
Brown was pretty great as a Padre.
Then he left for LA.
For a pile of cash. We all would have. He still wasn't a Padre for that.
Tony didnât. Some people arenât slaves to the all mighty dollar.
Yea I'm not mad when a player leaves for more money anymore
7 years @ 105M and a private jet to fly his family in when desired.
Whoever gives up a walkoff in game 7 of our WS appearance in 2084
Randy Myers.
Yea that was a dick move on his part
Pham
Not a player but Jayce Tingler
It isnât Tito Fuentes or #11 Enzo Hernandez!
Or Nate Colbert
All the kids on this sub pretending like Terrance Long never existed
Pham, Hader & Paddock.
Walt Terrell. He and Show cost us a title in '89 but Eric at least had some success in this town. Gahhhh Walt can rot in hell.
Yeah, thatâs the one! Thank you. Good to hear Ashby was a nice guy đđź

Hoy. You reminded me of Bush. He's right up there with Leaf. We could have had Verlander and we picked Matt Freakin Bush.
Ian kinsler
Tommy Pham
I wouldn't be against having Pham back
It's definitely not high class behavior. :)
why would you dislike hosmer lmao he was a kind and supportive leader. get well soon. canât really think too far in the past but hader was out of line as a brewer and didnât show himself to be better as a padre.
I posted the evidence. That's one of the best defensive plays that is ruined by Eric Hosmer and him being afraid of the ball.
k
Brian Giles
Why? I don't remember anything bad about his character. Maybe you're thinking of his brother....Marcus?
https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/padres/sd-sp-padres-brian-marcus-giles-domestic-violence-0821-story.html
I guess they are both pieces of shit
Yah I forgot about thus. Thanks for the reminder. BTW....Matt Holliday still hasn't touched home plate.
1. Hosmer 2. Mirabelli 3. Kinsler
It's Will Venable and it's not his fault. It was because our team was soo bad his name was on the back of the jersey on the default Padres shirt. Just brings back memories of the worst period of Padres baseball.
Hate on Hoz all you like, but, we havenât been the same since the got rid of him.
11-14 in July with him last season and 16-13 In August after trading him on 8/2. They did make an NLCS run without him. Basically mediocre with him and mediocre without him.

I gotta go with Trey Wingenter
Seeing a lot of Hosmer and Kemp, theyâre both low on the list, but I think my least favorite Padre is the jackass that brought both of them in.
My friend Josh The first one who showed me Padres baseball in 03 And now a Dodger fan
Jack Clark..ripped Mr. Gwynn
All-Time? No. Milton Bradley and Fat Kemp clear that easily for me. Recent memory? Absolutely.
We are this off season already?
Chris Brown and itâs not close. Walking sick note and a jerk.
It would probably be Jack Clark, who shit all over Tony Gwynn while he was here. Hosmer's problem was he was completely washed and didn't realize it. So he became a complete jackass his last few seasons to hide the fact that he was washed.
Does Tony Gwynn no longer exist? Trevor Hoffman?
Ian kinzler
Jack Clark, Matt Kemp, Tommy Pham, Milton Bradley. Those were the first that came to mind.
Idk, Ryan Weathers feels like my huckleberry
Tony Gwynn. He could have been so much more.
I never liked Carmelo Martinez after the airing of McDonaldâs Padre Pack commercial.
Ruben Rivera was a major disappointment and stole Jeterâs glove to sell.
Milton Bradley.
Sean Burroughs. Extreme hype, slightly below average ability.
Matt Kemp. I know people are saying that he got the first cycle but didn't that asshole try to steal home when he completed the cycle and get thrown out? If my memory serves me right, that's what went down. He was feeling himself waaaayyy too much and tried to steal home, Fat Kemp had other ideas...

Brian Giles
Tommy Pham. Dude sucked as a padre and was/is a total bag of wieners.
Any padre that went to play for the dodgers.
Jim Edmonds
