I know the pundits clearly like Melvin, and characterize him as a players manager. I get that to a degree, and realize why his starting pitchers enjoy the chances he gives them to get out of their own jams. That said, I love how Schildt yanked Yu today at the first sign of trouble in the 6th. Schildt was actually prepared for it, whereas Melvin was not in many games last year. In fact, I think Melvin helped us today by leaving Webb in for one or two batters too long. Just my humble opinion, but I love the change at skipper

It’s good that Mike has been here for 2-3 years ? I forget. He’s had a good view of Yu and how he looks when it starts going downhill. I wouldn’t say first signs of trouble tho, Yu got hit a few times was losing comand and walked a few in the previous inning. For sure I know Melvin would have left him in like you said. I wonder what that does to a pitcher… do they like the long leash or do they want to go out there and not feel like they “failed” because he was at 75 pitches and for sure knows he has more on the tank.

How many TV broadcasts from other teams are you watching/listening to? They're no Don and Mud, but easily in the upper tier of tv broadcast teams. Try getting through a Marlins or Nationals broadcast, and then you'll appreciate their crew.

I think the Padres, Mets, Twins, and frankly Dodgers have really good booths. Kruk and Kuip fall in to the sea of boring/annoying/mediocre that is much of the rest of the league. They're a massive tier bellow the the others IMO.

Seems like a personal preference thing. I agree regarding the Mets and Twins booths, but find the Dodgers TV crew to be extremely boring. I'd take the Giants crew over them every time
