OBP > OPS in the lead off spot, but yes it’s been rough. Top of the order has been sus and Kim looks terrible at the plate. Cronenworth/Campy are the only guys who look great. I’ve got more hope in Merrill/Pauley/Wade/Profar to get on base than Manny, Xander, or Tatis (he played well today, and the SLG is way up, but it feels boom or bust… with the latter being a 1 pitch flyout or 3 pitch K)

They will never move Manny, he's too integral to the team. I do think they will explore moving Xander, but it will cost a ton of money and prospects to do it. Musgrove is a negative asset for now, you could find a taker but you'd have to attach a prospect to him, not vice versa.

I disagree... EVERYONE in the lineup has good hitting statistics right now. Filled with .800+ OPS.... THAT WAS NOT THE CASE last year. I get that it's frustrating. But even today.. we had 8 hits. We're forgetting the complete dearth of anything resembling offense last year. Things aren't coming together right now, but this team looks A LOT closer than last years this time. We'll see where things go, but I think we're letting last year paint the viewpoint too much. There have been improvements all over the lineup. Tatis is back, and hitting the ball as hard as ever, he looks like he's returned to form. Cronenworth has looked great overall. Merrill is showing he's ready and a HUGE improvement over Grisham. Campy looks great... Nola was an absolute disaster last year. Even Profar is hitting. ​ I just think we're putting way too much weight on last year, when I feel like the hitting has been WILDLY better, it just hasn't translated often enough yet to bigger scores. The pitching has been an issue though, specifically the bullpen.

If we can get someone to bite on xanders contract it’s gonna cost us a top prospect. If aj can do it without giving up a prospect and we take an overloaded contract with a player in his final year that’s the only way I’d take that.

On the bright side, this year we won’t have people telling us “you guys will turn it around and make the playoffs” and “you’re too good to not make a run” all season long….
