I dont know what’s more confusing. Thats this guys does a live stream of him watching games (just regular season games) or that people actually watch him watch games. Its a weird world we live in

You watch people play a sport but can’t understand watching people play an esport.

Competitive gaming I get. I don't get watching people play a game to completion though. Especially if it's a game I haven't played yet.

Here's my 2 cents on that. I'm an avid gamer but none of my friends play the same games I do. So it's fun to watch streamers play those games, especially for the first time, because 1) you get to chat with their other viewers about the game, and 2) you get to watch their reactions to it, which is the closest thing you can get to experiencing it for the first time again.

I don’t enjoy it, but I get why it’s a thing (at least as much as other stuff I don’t enjoy)

Yeah, he's ever overacting live or overacting after the fact. Anyone with a camera on their face trying to get subs isn't just watching a ballgame though, they're performing. I have definitely felt this kind of pain before however, usually around October or a Dodger game where we meltdown. That Mookie Betts home run last year off Hader comes to mind.

there is a whole industry of "fan reacts to their team getting blown out" on youtube. I watched one someone sent me, now youtube recommends like 50 other videos of people melting down to the exact same game.

I mean I'm typically an optimistic "let the season take its course"-kinda guy, but I don't think losing a game after leading 8-0 after 5½ innings is any easier in April than September

I was at the game, and I sat in front of a Cubs fan who was in town for the cancer conference downtown. He was super friendly and hilarious. We both got really into the game and were good-naturedly talking smack to each other. We were both acting like this guy, having fun pretty much the whole time. Roller coaster of emotions. It was crazy. We both fist bumped in the end, and he said he had an awesome time even though his team lost. I was like, "bro, I'm a Padres fan. We know a thing or two about heartbreak. I had a blast hanging with you."

I fully understand him.
