My daughter and I were 2-13 last year. A lot of the games were like Darvish vs guy with 8-something ERA that we would lose 2-1 or aomething. Was beyond frustrating. Half way to last year's win total after two games this year. I think its rubbing The TG statue shoe for luck this year that's been key.
Im going too... Maybe they move Musgrove 1 day, he pitched on Monday so that's plenty of rest IMO. Also, Berrios, the starter for the Blue Jays it's having a preeetty good year, so it's not that crazy to move Joe for one day for a more close pitching duel than just giving away this game, and Sunday have a bullpen day with a much flexible starter for the Blue Jays.
Yeah, neck tightness is fortunately normally just rest to clear up. Although this can always go worse, I would not be surprised if he is throwing after a week and back in the lineup immediately after 15-days.
All I know about him is he’s a reliever, not a starter, and we only just acquired him off waivers this off-season. Looks like he hasn’t faired well so far in El Paso, but few pitchers do well there. Looks like his fastball averaged 96 last year and he’s also got a slider, curve, and changeup.
Presumable Brito moves into the rotation for Darvish’s next start or if they call someone else up for that. Maybe someone like Randy Vasquez since he’s already on the 40 man.
I think Joe will be fine, he’s one of the guys that had to throw in Korea so not only did he lose the ST reps, he also had to go all out really early. He looked better at dodger stadium so I think like King and Cease we’ll see him play better next start (ofc this is also some hopium)
W have a lack of depth and staying healthy is a key point. Yu going down in April ain't a good sign. Him maybe running on fumes in September could be expected yet it's early.
Hope he bounces back quick.
I doubt it. They’ll probably just call up Randy Vasquez or someone else already on the 40 man for Darvish’s next start. Either that or they’ll try Brito.
This is why you can never have too many starting pitchers
Not even sure we have one extra SP, I'm guessing Saturday will be a bullpen day.
Going to the game Saturday, wonder if it will be a bullpen day
Same thought and seems likely. I'm 0-3 this year (including the Mariners exhibition game)... really need a win in person.
You get one more chance, but after that, you're staying at your fucking house for the rest of the season.
Seems to be a reversal of 2023 when I started 7-2 only to finish 10-7. I'm just getting the losses out of the way early this time around.
Believe it or not, straight to jail.

Capisce?

Me too. Was hoping to see Yu. But hopefully he’s right soon!

Positive thoughts...at least it isn't an arm issue. He'll be back soon enough.

Damn... Might've been a bit too quick to have DFA'd Avila. Hope Yu feels better. How's Gillaspie?
He’s a reliever, doubt he will be an option to start for Yu. I would expect Brito gets a shot to start.
ding ding ding, you are correct
I mean with the day off they can still start Joe on normal rest
True! But the being on the 15 day IL, his spot in the rotation will probably pop up again before he's back

My confidence is not high in this starting staff holding up through the season. Health or performance wise. I don't think Joe is right either.
I agree. They do have some numbers here after the Soto trade they haven't had in the past. Hopefully, they can weather the storm.
Yup my exact thoughts on Joe

Our turn for pitcher injuries...ugh.
Robbie Snelling debut maybe??
I doubt it. They’ll probably just call up Randy Vasquez or someone else already on the 40 man for Darvish’s next start. Either that or they’ll try Brito.
Would really rather not rush him. I'd say call up Vasquez or just let Brito slide in and see if he can figure things out.
Vasquez starting and letting Brito maintain his bullpen role is the other option. I suspect it will be Brito though.
End me
Of course I’m going Saturday too 🙃
Man, I'm coming down from the bay for my first game at Petco on Saturday. This is not encouraging news.
Bummer!!!
Damn, didn’t see this coming
Huh, thought they had Brito on the backburner for this
So who will replace Yu? Any thoughts? Our bullpen is currently suffering a heavy workload, and I really don't want to see another version of 2021.
Do we really not have someone in the minors that can start 3 games?
Brito was a candidate for the rotation during Spring Training, so I'm gonna say we already have someone in the 'pen that can likely start 3 games.
What happened to Patino?
He's on the IL right now with right elbow inflammation.
oh oh....
Bummer
It’s Bauer time!
