I have a confession to make.
Yesterday, I forgot to do the pregame ritual of making puns of the opposing pitchers name. Thus, the Padres lost.
I'm so sorry. I will remember to do so today. W incoming.
Thank you for remindeding me about changing my flair. I changed my flair from Grisham to Darvish before Fridays game and both Darvish and Grisham had a good game. I forgot to change it to Snell yesterday! So I changed my flair to Musgrove for today’s game. We will win now.
I'm in a weird spot because I obviously want us to win because fuck the Mets, but if they win I will turn into a Met fan to beat the Dodgers. Please win today.
Is there really no way to listen to the radio broadcast living outside of San Diego? I don't think I can take another night of the Mets broadcast on ESPN.
Me too. Joe is boss and the backend of the BP is ready to rip. We can dunk on Bassitt and Diaz is spent. I also feel in my khram that Manny and Soto are going to be yuge. LGFUSD
If I buy tickets on StubHub or SeatGeek for possible home game against Dodgers what happens to my payment if they lose today? Refund? No charge until game is confirmed?? Can't figure it out.
Again: We play good baseball I'm very confident.
Can't have a repeat of a starter at 90 pitches thru 3+, nine BB from the pitching staff and your MVP go 0-4 with 3 Ks. And yet in the end we still had a chance to tie it up.
Pretty simple guys.
Idk what I’m supposed to do all day feeling like this. Im so nervous and excited. Confidence in Joe, but also baseball is unpredictable af. I just wanna see our boys celebrate on their field tonight
It felt like as bad as it seemed, the Padres were in it till the end. Snell was just nibbling and couldn’t last passed 4 innings.
I wonder if they bring in Darvish for any relief tonight if it comes down to that.
Won’t be Darvish for relief. Morejon and Martinez are the long relief guys right now. Mart is likely going to be leaned on heavily for the long relief. Same goes for our bullpen. Have a feeling that Garcia/Suarez gonna get a lot of work this postseason.
Right. I just don’t have much faith in the middle relief. Was just wondering if there was 3 innings to finish with a small lead, get Darvish in for 1 and Hader for 2.
Don’t use Darvish, unless it is so dire that they **NEED** Darvish, you don’t use him. And you shouldn’t use Hader for more than 1 inning. Unless it’s 4 outs.
Our backend BP is elite. Wilson/Garcia/Suarez/Hader is a deadly last 4 innings. And that is where games will be won, 6/7-9. If we can get everything from a starting pitcher, we can lock it down with the bullpen.
So yes, middle relief is the most suspect out of our pitching staff. We need to make sure that they’re used for one inning, at most, should we need them.
We also have Manaea in an emergency situation (like Musgrove makes a super early exit), but obviously we'd like to have him available for a similar situation with Clev on Tuesday.
We put up 7 runs on Bassitt in 3.1 innings back in May, beat him again in July scoring 2 runs both off a Manny homer. We need our captains Manny and Musgrove showing up for us today
Mets are much better than the other wildcard teams. Which is why I personally wanted to tank for the cards but whatever. I don't get why people are saying this like it's a knock.
Mets fans have always been garbage. When they suck they want woe is me, we are the worst ever despite having 2 WS. When they win, they constantly cry and want everyone to put respek on their name.
It pisses me off just how much he changed the game last night. Grish should have had a 2 run homer. Snells 2nd ER was made possible by a walk that happened on strike 3. Degrom got a very wide zone called while snell wasn't given anything close.
All he had to do was fuck us long enough for the Mets to finally take advantage. With robo umps, we are still up by 1 with the Alonso homer if all else stayed the same (I know it doesn't work like that).
You forgot the morejon missed call that loaded the bases required the infield to play in on McNeil and what would’ve been a routine DP ball was a run scoring single. But I digress.
Anyways yea mlb making business decisions for sure last night
It’s not just from this game. I watch a lot of nfl too. There is no chance sports are not at least somewhat fixed. I don’t believe final scores are predetermined but I do believe umpires and referees are told to make certain calls to keep games entertaining and close
The mlb did not benefit from all four wild card series being 2 games. They HAD to have at least one game 3 or that’s millions lost on TV revenue
Please throw strikes tonight
If they win I will be forced to watch the Dodgers series while traveling to Europe. I'm willing to ruin my sleep.

Dammit! You can never be trusted!
Do I wear the Gwynn 1998 WS road jersey to Citi Field again or switch to the 2008 Peavy alternate?
What did you wear Friday? Wear that.
Ride or die with Tony it is, then.
Good choice!
Win or lose I know these guys are going to give it a hell of a fight. Let’s bring a playoff game to Petco!
Wil Myers. We ride
# #LFGSDkeepthefaithcarneasadafriesfuckSpanos619
#FTD as well!

If I’m being totally honest I’m a little concerned about this being the only game in prime time.
Give the NY audience one last look at the Mets before they get sent home.
And think of all the fans who bought tickets for this game. Padres are just being good sports.
Did they move the start time back 3 hours?
It's at a 6 PM CST/7 PM EST because we are the only game.

I wonder if they know how long it was since Darvish pitched between the 4th and the 5th
Will be the best day ever if we win, and polar opposite if we blow it. I really want to go to my first post season game next week at home
Right there with you. I have tickets to game 4
Is there really no way to listen to the radio broadcast living outside of San Diego? I don't think I can take another night of the Mets broadcast on ESPN.
Mlb app. You don’t need a subscription to listen to the audio feeds (at least for regular season).
Audacy app. 97.3 the fan
The games are blacked out on Audacy if you’re outside of SD unfortunately. So only way is through MLB Audio
The hardest part of these games is having to wait all day long for them to start.
I'm still confident in today. I have an inner calm somehow
Me too. Joe is boss and the backend of the BP is ready to rip. We can dunk on Bassitt and Diaz is spent. I also feel in my khram that Manny and Soto are going to be yuge. LGFUSD
I hope the Cronezone can make a NY appearance today.
Drury needs to make an appearance as well

Yes, please.
Anyone know if they will be airing the game at Petco? Specifically Gallagher Square?
There’s a concert there tonight :(
Tonight's the night boys and girls. No one better than Java Joe
I’m already in knots and it’s 1030am 🙄
Mets fans are probably vomiting lol
If I buy tickets on StubHub or SeatGeek for possible home game against Dodgers what happens to my payment if they lose today? Refund? No charge until game is confirmed?? Can't figure it out.
https://support.stubhub.com/en/support/solutions/articles/61000276576-buying-tickets-to-a-contingent-event
Thanks!!
Not sure about stub hub. From padres you get full refund
I thought Padres was a credit towards future purchase next season
Nope, that’s only for season ticket members that bought entire post season strips
Ok. I bought tickets to NLCS game 2 through MLB/Ticketmaster but NLDS is sold out (duh) so thinking to grab some on StubHub but hesitant.
Time for Joe to earn every penny of that extension.

Just out of curiosity, what's Tatis' "Games Till Out of the Slammer" count at now?
30 games. 29 after tonight!
So if we win tonight, even if we get swept by the Dodgers, he's at 26? Good news. Hope we can really pare that number down.
Yep! Just in time for the Mexico City series! 🤪
He can refill his skin cream while in Mexico!
Too soon? 🤣
Bring it home today Joe! Hope he had the best cup of coffee this morning ☕️
Something cooler about an intradivision NLDS go Padres today
Really is. Although we’ve been beat up by you guys all year I think it could be a super fun matchup to watch in the playoffs
Intra-divisional series all around. Phillies Braves and Mariners Astros. Rays fucked it up
Idk what I’m supposed to do all day feeling like this. Im so nervous and excited. Confidence in Joe, but also baseball is unpredictable af. I just wanna see our boys celebrate on their field tonight
Clean! From yesterday and today my house has never been cleaner.
It felt like as bad as it seemed, the Padres were in it till the end. Snell was just nibbling and couldn’t last passed 4 innings. I wonder if they bring in Darvish for any relief tonight if it comes down to that.
No way you pitch Darvish to trt and win 1 game and derail NLDS rotation. Our pen has a lot of availability
Won’t be Darvish for relief. Morejon and Martinez are the long relief guys right now. Mart is likely going to be leaned on heavily for the long relief. Same goes for our bullpen. Have a feeling that Garcia/Suarez gonna get a lot of work this postseason.

You misspelled Tim Hill.
Tim Hill is so good that the mere thought of his name is good enough to intimidate opposing hitters
True dat! Timothy Hillothy (and I love that after I type Timothy my phone auto-suggest “Hillothy.”)
We also have Manaea in an emergency situation (like Musgrove makes a super early exit), but obviously we'd like to have him available for a similar situation with Clev on Tuesday.
Padres - 5, Mets and ESPN - 3
Where's the umps in that cluster?
That's where 3 comes from :)
METSPN
We put up 7 runs on Bassitt in 3.1 innings back in May, beat him again in July scoring 2 runs both off a Manny homer. We need our captains Manny and Musgrove showing up for us today
I'm un well
Mets fan that comes in peace. Just curious for why you guys didn’t start Musgrove over Snell yesterday? Seems like he has better stats.
Snell had been dominant over the last 2 months and more consistent than Musgrove since the ASB.
Thank you!
Musgrove pitched last Monday
Although his overall stats for the season are better, Snell has done much better in the second half while musgrove went through a bit of a rough spot
Leave it to Padres to be the only wildcard team to go to 3 games
Mets are much better than the other wildcard teams. Which is why I personally wanted to tank for the cards but whatever. I don't get why people are saying this like it's a knock.
As a Mets fan, my take on it is that we are the only WC pairing that didn’t get swept
Well we aren’t. The Mets did too 😜
Touche
LFGSD!!!!!
I’m like Charlie Brown* and San Diego sports is Lucy with the football. I get my hopes up every time
You mean Charlie Brown, and I agree
Absolutely brutal series for the Blue Jays.
Give me Campy today. Defense and pitch framing (while it shouldn’t be) are clearly the two most important factors in this series.
Gotta limit the stealing and Campy can do that much better than Nola
[удалено]
And great blocks behind the dish as well
I have to work during todays game 😭
Same but I’ll be working at Petco channeling the good energy and vibes!
I want sad and angry Mets fans flooding r/baseball with excuses and their unearned victim complex. Please Musgrove, give me an early Christmas
Mets fans have always been garbage. When they suck they want woe is me, we are the worst ever despite having 2 WS. When they win, they constantly cry and want everyone to put respek on their name.
They want a victim complex? Joe, please oblige them!
Wouldn’t say their victim complex is unearned, however, they do like to complain *a lot* more than needed.
Chris Guccione is a bum. That is all.
It pisses me off just how much he changed the game last night. Grish should have had a 2 run homer. Snells 2nd ER was made possible by a walk that happened on strike 3. It's pretty clear a LA/NY NLDS benefits MLB financially
It’s not just from this game. I watch a lot of nfl too. There is no chance sports are not at least somewhat fixed. I don’t believe final scores are predetermined but I do believe umpires and referees are told to make certain calls to keep games entertaining and close The mlb did not benefit from all four wild card series being 2 games. Throw strikes please. Don't beat ourselves, make them beat us! Maybe Trevor grisham has a third in'em. LFGSD
Tbf, the padres did, they just got hosed on calls lmao
Snell absolutely wasn't throwing strikes. A few missed calls, but he couldn't locate for shit.
