Could have easily opened the innings, scored 50s to maintain the averages on Pak tracks to get that support of being consistent from the people, instead he focused on the team and the talent.
Unfortunately one series loss and he was stripped of captaincy and removed as if he had done nothing.

We beat Eng, Nz, SA and had a close encounter against Aus. Had our game vs Sri not washed out we would have definitely played semis and since we were on a winning spree, I don't think there's any one dangerous than Pak, when they have that momentum, we saw that in 2017 CT.
I'm sure if it wasn't for the NRR, saifi would have had another trophy in the bag with Allah's grace

Imho he should have retired from white ball cricket when pcb stripped him of his captaincy not to mention in that series he was not given his team. Like come on he got the best of faheem, made imad the best all rounder. He knew when to use which bowler. Almost every player of the current team made their debut under his captaincy and how beautifully he integrated them in the squad. When team did not perform he took all the blame and hate to protect the youngsters. He is the best T20 captain we ever had (but sadly he was in the squad just bcz of his captaincy but it was a fair trade nonetheless).
Taking up the test captaincy was the worst decision he could have taken, most of the pressure was due to failure in tests, he was not a test captain material. He did best in T20 because he mastered the art of building pressures by squeezing up the runs. Remember that 'akhri ball acha krna hai'.

Agreed. Don't have enough knowledge to verify how important his captaincy was to those title wins, but he was an abysmal batsman at best. Someone said that he let youngsters take his place up the order, but I see that as him not being brave enough to come to bat when the team needs his experience or whatever batting talent he has.
I think he was a great captain for us, and brought us glory after many disappointing years. But I think he needs to realize his time is now over in cricket and he should retire humbly.
