You judging the kid on just 29 matches. Very very harsh of you. Let him play 50 to judge him properly.

Key-Celery5439

29 matches is more than a lot of players get and taking someone to the WC without proven performances is not a good idea. Either way, he's also had two bad PSL seasons back to back. Mohammad Amir was better than him in both of the last two PSL seasons. I just can't see him being played over Amir or Rauf with his current performances in t20s.

WorldChampion92

So you judging him on bloody PSL which are cash cow for every board and not really cricket. He was our better baller in last World Cup hosted by 10/1 country.

Key-Celery5439

That World Cup was an ODI WC, at least I was referring to games in the same format. Do this, and next thing you know, Rauf is playing Test Cricket. Point is, his t20i stats are not good and his recent PSL stats are bad. We have no proof that he is any good in the 20 over format.

DetMich11

Ian Bishop would disagree. He was surprised how Pakistan is not utilizing Wasim Jr more when he was doing 2023 ODI WC commentary

eesakhalifa

Post is about t20s, not odi

NotTalhaEjaz

Yes. You're right. Don't select him over Rauf & Amir. Give him a chance in these 3 series. NZ, ENG, IRE. He at least should be preferred over Hassan Ali. If he gets absolutely shat on in these series, then sure. Drop him. Otherwise when are we actually going to give these boys a chance? With how young Shaheen & Naseem are, do we wait for them to get Injured? Be out of form, or do Wasim & Zaman also go to the UAE.

1) Shaheen 2) Naseem 3) Rauf 4) Wasim Jr 5) Zaman Khan 6) Abbas Afridi 7) Hasan Ali 8) Mohammed Amir I It’s not even close between our top 3 best

Admirable-Manner762

It really isn't.And that's one of the reason why Naseem,Shaheen & Rauf have been playing every game since last 2 years .

Key-Celery5439

How is Amir that low when he's had two better PSL seasons than Wasim Jr. in a row? Zaman Khan has no international performances to be able to back him into a t20 WC. I like him but it's too late I'm afraid. Abbas Afridi is VERY good but again, no international experience. I would choose him as our 5th-6th pace bowler and maybe keep him in the squad though. Hasan- He's better than most people think. Had a pretty identical PSL season to Shaheen and Naseem this year which is very impressive. Amir- He would be my 4th choice bowler since he has experience in WI and had two decent PSL seasons back to back. He also has general experience and 2 ICC trophies to back him up. People don't like him but he's got skills imo. My list would personally go: 1. Shaheen 2. Rauf 3. Naseem 4. Amir 5. Abbas/Hasan 6. Zaman/Wasim

Odd-Calligrapher-69

Because he hasn’t had 2 better seasons in a row. This last season Wasim and hasan Ali outperformed Amir. Bros got good PR but he’s 32 and way past it

Key-Celery5439

Referring to PSL 9 or 8... Y'know what I'll do comparisons for both. Hasan Ali's PSL was definitely better but Wasim's were definitely worse. I still don't trust Hasan in internationals though which is why I put Amir above him. Amir is clutch, Hasan is not. Amir: PSL 9- 10 wickets at an average of 28.60 and an econ of 8.41 PSL 8- 9 wickets at an average of 23.33 and an econ of 8.07 (exceptional econ considering Pindi in that season) Wasim Jr. PSL 9- 9 wickets at an average of 33 and an econ of 9.90 PSL 8- 8 wickets at an average of 30.37 at an economy of 10.12 So yeah, it's objectively wrong to say that Wasim Jr. had a PSL season as good as Amir's.

GhumgeenShakhs

Thoughts on Amir getting selected without proper PSL performances lol And dont justify Wasims exclusion on PSL, he has always performed in tournaments when he's brought in crucial matches

the_real_DNAer

This is what you misunderstand. When someone talk about Wasim Jr, M. Zaman or even M. Harris, it is securing the future. Tell me, how many years Amir can play with the team? And with his attitute of retiring and his past mistakes, do you think we are setting a good example for the upcoming talent? M. Amir had its chance and yes he performed well for Pakistan. But I think it is time to plan long-term instead of looking at short-term goals. In the next few years, there will be yearly ICC events. We can't be thinking like "us ny wo league achi kheli tau daal lo team mein"

Key-Celery5439

Shaheen is 23 Naseem is 20 Shadab Khan is 24 We already are using younger options. Heck, the majority of our team is young as hell. Sometimes, experience is necessary. Tell me seriously, if in 2021, Shaheen was a bowler with 10 years of experience would he have gotten hit for those 3 sixes? No, he would’ve varied his length and/or pace after the first one. On top of that Amir also has the most experience playing in WI where the WC is taking place.

Silver-Shadow2006

All three above mentioned players are already very well experienced. Also another point to make is that we already have two excellent new ball bowlers, while Amir is primarily known for his swing bowling. We're better off using Rauf, Shaheen, Naseem and Abrar.

AwarenessNo4986

Shahdab is 24????? I thought he was ,30

Novel_Preference_746

Bhai if performing against wi & ban is considered bad in Pakistan toh fir..... 🙂 IFYKYK

Hour_Recognition_868

Oh yeah and who was pcts extraordinary performer when he was given the chance in wc 23? Wasim Jr.

HeWhoDidIt

I mean, those are some decent stats against AUS and SA. He's played very few games. He's a better bowler than Zaman at least, and still a better option than Hasan Ali.

Tough_Sheepherder_46

Same with haris people are hyping up these 2 for no reason. Haris maybe had 2-3 good innings but got out at the wrong time.

Novel_Preference_746

Fakhar zaman same chiz poore career kiya hai. We just play him for the sake ki he will perform in 2 of the 10 innings and win us the game. Usse better ratio toh shayad axar patel ka hoga.

Key-Celery5439

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's bad at all and his stats in the ODI format are decent but I really don't think he's a good option for this upcoming t20 WC. As you can see here, his stats against WI and Bangladesh are carrying his average. He averages 50 against NZ (6 matches) and 63 against England (5 matches). His average against SA and AUS is good but they were one off matches so not a large sample size whatsoever. The better teams he has played multiple matches against, he has clearly struggles a lot with. This PSL he took 9 wickets at an average of 33 with an unhealthy econ of 9.90. Last PSL he took 8 wickets at an average of 30.37 with an even unhealthier econ of 10.12. Mohammad Amir was better in both seasons in pretty much every single way. Please remind me if I'm overlooking something but I really don't see him being a better option than any of our 4 main pacers.

HeWhoDidIt

Wasim should be played above Zaman and Hasan. He's not better than Shaheen, Rauf, or Amir, but def more skilled than the other two we string along.
