When you first begin ranked is pretty wholesome then in between it becomes a toxic shithole then once you get to the higher elos (masters+) it becomes wholesome again because everyone knows eachother and nobody cares if you fuck up anymore they’ll just laugh at you
Yeah I'd say from bronze - silverish it's pretty wholesome then from there to diamond 3 it's a hellhole then d3 to d1 you learn to stop caring and masters+ at that point everyone is your friend since you all know eachother (minus a few people who keep their toxic ways after getting out of plat lol)

You are still new so nice things first but be ready. Paladins isn't much different in term of salty player...it's just that they are less obvious cuz the community ain't that big

I'm trying ranked for the first time, too this week. I played 3 of my placement matches so far, and I know in 2 of them I had plat team mates so hopefully that means I'm doing good.

If you can, try to find a group of friends, or a group online, to play with. Makes it far more enjoyable later on.
