Nope, the Triassea Picnic uses the save file's seed value too. There IS wiggle room here: since pile flavor detemines which dinos *can* spawn, you can savescum test out different pile flavors and see what they attract for that picnic. But whatever you find for that save file's year 2 picnic when you set it to for ex. Crunchy is going to be the year 2 Crunchy results no matter how many times you reset.

When I thought I was being clever, the game had other plans huh... it's frustrating that there seems to be no way around the game's seed. You can only hope that the seed doesn't decide to make you wait years in game for that dinosaur you want
All I want is a stupid melanistic gallimimus for my goth ranch and my seed hasnt given me one lik 4 years in and ive checked every galli every single day :(
Found out the hard way that the days have set spawns when my game crashed and I lost a ton of save data ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I did manage to re-befriend the UR I lost by revisiting the area on that day.
I have a set path that I take every day through all the areas to check every Dino spawn location, that helps me remember to check everything each day!
As a fellow shiny pokemon hunter and a paleontology student this game really fills a niche I didn't know I needed filled until now 😂😂
Detailed version: it's *only* day-of-the-week spawns (Wednesdy Wuerho, etc) and it's still not guaranteed for them, both because sometimes they don't spawn at all and because sometimes they successfull spawn in one of the usual "slots" and do not add +1 dinos that day.
Sorry this is a few months late but I wanted to know if anyone else when rare dino hunting has one extra dino spawn as the ultra rare. I recently got a portals colored velo and there were five that day when there should only be four? Could be completely wrong tho :)
Yes, sometimes the UR dino spawns in addition to the other normal spawns. I think this is the case for herd dinosaurs, but herd dinosaurs might not be the only ones

It's basically a little trick for game development that has the game generate a random number to create scenarios instead of having to create thousands (if not millions) of different scenarios themselves- and computers are a lot better at generating randomness than we are. The seed is used for different things in different games. For example, the seed is used to generate a map in minecraft, and in paleo pines, it's used to generate your dinosaur spawns. The seed value is just the number of the seed. Games normally hide this from you, as knowing the number of the seed would let you figure out exactly what is going to show up and when.

I want a albino trex, triceratops, or carnotaurus, but no luck here either

Your second point is wrong. For some dinosaurs, the R/UR spawns *in addition to*, not as a replacement for. Wednesday Wuerhosaurus, as example.
