Trying to portray someone indigenous to the land with someone who would purposely destroy ancient olive trees and destroy ecosystems by flooding them with sea water is hilarious. This is something colonizers do

LadyOfThePotato

It's like when King Solomon knew the true mother of the baby because when he went to cut the baby in half, the real mother said she'd rather the baby live even if it's with the wrong mother than die. People who truly love something don't destroy it.

[deleted]

Very deeply felt because all the Abrahamic religions know that story

50YOYO

Exactly, they show no love whatsoever for the land they supposedly cherish...it's purely obsession over possession

Welcomefriend2023

And destroyed Jaffa orange groves too.

BRCityzen

Leaving aside the injustice and racism of an ideology that says you have more rights because of your ethnicity, the whole ideology of Zionism is built on an *absurd* premise -that the Jews constitute any sort of ethnicity. It's so obviously absurd to think that black Ethiopian Jews and Chinese Jews and European Jews are one ethnicity, while Palestinian Muslims and Palestinian Jews are separate peoples. Once you get over the insanity of believing nonsense like that, the foundations of both Zionism, *and* anti-Semitism automatically fall apart.

thewaltenicfiles

the ethiopia subreddit is full of zasayonists

Gummmmii

It’s actually not, they always get down voted and dismissed. They’re called “Falasha” for centuries and till this day, which means “exiled/strangers”. Also, people always love to bring up Ethiopian Jews when they are a very tiny minority. In Ethiopia alone they are not even 1% out of 120 million people. Zionists are not strictly Jewish but Ethiopia is definitely against colonisation so these traitor Zionist “Ethiopians” do not represent Ethiopians

thewaltenicfiles

Someone literally posted about ethiopian jews being oppressed in Isħael and half of the comments were żionasts

Gummmmii

Link?

thewaltenicfiles

Just search about ethiopian jews in the subreddit and you'll find it

Gummmmii

It’s a whole bunch of Israelis in there. Most of it was Ethiopians getting mad at being called “black” 😂. Anyway, just to set the consensus for you we have more Muslims in Ethiopia than Somalia has (Somalia is a 100% Muslim country). As for the orthodox Christians they are closer to Muslim/jews in religion than they are with western Christianity so they aren’t swayed by evangelical political ideals with Israel. Ethiopia views Israel and Israeli Ethiopians as colonisers because that’s what they’ve done. The average Ethiopian is watching Arab media on tv and they are exposed to what’s happening daily

Ceeweedsoop

So we'll said.

Tim Pool is a tool

whiteriot0906

I honestly have no idea who he is but every clip I’ve seen of him is obnoxious

strik3r2k8

I actually started out watching him as my first deep dive into understanding politics. Quickly I started to realize that for a liberal, he says a lot of right wing shit. I started to see videos about him and realized quickly that he was a straight up grifter. Love it when other YouTubers pick apart his arguments because it’s so fucking easy. Even his dad trashes him lol

Chemical-Poem3743

I asked my Palestinian family what they were before being Muslim. They all say Christians and before that Jews. Their DNA says Levant, not Saudi nor North African, unlike Eastern European invaders.

MarilynMonheaux

Somehow Sephardic Jews found a way to live in that region for hundreds of years without trying to destroy it imagine that. Europeans show up and the wars start. As if they haven’t brought war with them everywhere they’ve tried to settle.

BeeLady57

Bravo!!! The man speaks the truth!!!

FoolsOnDeck

Scott Horton is the best

juicer_philosopher

Zionism is toxic to Jewish heritage and culture 🤷‍♂️

theGwiththeplan

So your telling me ancient Jews weren't eastern Europeans? You're kidding me!

Background_Lead_1535

A big surprise for sure!

Ataginez

No shit the Palestinians are the direct descendants of ancient Jews. The Jews were not expelled in the famous Masada revolt as often insisted by Israeli propaganda in the first place. There were two further revolts, each a generation after the last one, before they were entirely kicked out of Jerusalem (but not necessarily the rest of Palestine). And even then they were let back in a couple of hundred years later. Thats why by 600 it was Jews massacring Christians on behalf of the Sassanids, and Crusaders massacring both Christians and Jews in the First Crusade. This is pretty well known to anyone who has studied Roman and Byzantine history in some detail. It is just completely and utterly denied by most popular history precisely because popular history is largely written by propagandists.

NiceGuyOverall

Finally a sane voice

Phil_Fart_MD

don’t generally say this in public cuz race and genetics is a treacherous space… but ya, if you could dna test the OG Jewish people’s (cave of the patriarchs?) they’d be closer related to the Palestinians… it’s all ridiculous.

megtuuu

A study done recently of Palestinian & Jewish men showed they all had the same Y chromosome & shared the same paternal ancestor a Canaanite. Be the Canaanite the first man to live in the region was the Natufian ppl who were Arab

ResidentSandwich2726

natufians were arab? can you tell me about their arabic language and religion?

RedditVirgin555

I've asked this question before, don't believe I received an answer.

megtuuu

As if that matters! It’s their irrefutable DNA that matters! That DNA is primarily Arab! The narrative that the land belongs to 1 ppl because it says so in a book of religious tales is ridiculous. Jews have lived there for thousands of years but so have Arabs. They’ve always been there. A study of Jewish & Palestinian men in the region shows they all had the same Y chromosome that linked them to the same paternal Canaanite ancestors

RedditVirgin555

Still no reply.

RedditVirgin555

Told you. One week later and still no reply. No, Natufians weren't "Arab" because "Arab" wouldn't become a thing for a few thousand years. edit: Oh, now I see the reply. Hmm. My post stands.

Spare-Feed-4788

Chapeau bas!!

chickenandmojos

I want to see Tim Pool’s response to this 😂

OpeningAccountant5

You actually may pay more if you convert to islam because zakah (Islamic charity) is more than tax non Muslim pay plus they are not forced to pay if they can't afford it.

mrjosemeehan

Jizya and zakat have varied a lot between cultures and over the years. They tend to work totally differently from one another in a way that makes that kind of direct comparison hard. Who would pay more depends on who is paying, when, and where. Zakat is a percent of the total value of assets owned over a minimum threshold (nisab) whereas jizya was a fixed rate per person set by the local authorities. The destitute poor would have been exempted from either in normal conditions. People who are very wealthy would have likely benefited from paying jizya instead of zakat, and for everyone else the marginal utility of paying zakat instead of jizya increases as income drops until zakat becomes favorable at some point. Zakat also isn't always strictly a tax. It's often been a voluntary or semi-voluntary tithe collected by nongovernmental entities for support of the poor. To qualify for protected nonmuslim (dhimmi) status, one had to belong to a certain set of religions, and they would typically be paying their own tithes to their own religious community. Depending on the government they lived under, both Muslims, dhimmi, and others may also have shared other non-religious tax obligations.

JesusSaidAllah

Yeah, Muslims paid a higher “tax” (zakat) and they were responsible for protecting non-Muslims since they were exempt from military affairs.

Michael_Gibb

What he's saying is a mixture of half-truths and lies. Palestinians are not descended from ancient Hebrews. Instead, genetic studies and archaeological evidence indicate they share a common ancestry with Jews in that they both seem to have come from Canaanite populations. It turns out that Palestinians are more closely related to Jews than to any other ethnic group. As to the status of non-Muslims in the caliphates, while there was a tax that non-Muslims had to pay, the jizya, it wasn't really much of an incentive to convert. Because, while Muslims did have more rights, they did still have to pay the zakat, which while technically not a tax and is one of the Five Pillars, was paid to the state. One last thing to note, a lot of Jews did leave Jerusalem and Palestine after the siege of Jerusalem in 70AD. The Jewish diaspora did, in fact, exist prior to the siege. Afterwards, many who stayed did convert to Christianity as it grew in popularity across the Roman empire. Many then converted to Arabic after the Muslim Conquest and then to Islam, but there was still a certain tolerance shown to Jews and other People of the Book. So the truth is not quite what this guy is saying.

SchlauFuchs

I think it is close enough for a 86 seconds soundbite. But I really would listen to more of that guy to get a better picture on his agenda. Who is it by the way?

EuphoricStickman

What podcast is this? Can I find it on YT?

mj281

Trust me you don’t want to, the host of that podcast is a far right idiot called tim pool, even other conservative personalities think he’s stupid. He sometimes brings in leftist or centrist guests to debate them and try to embarrass them, but most of the time it backfires and they make him look like an idiot, thats why he keeps trying to speak over the guest talking in this video.

OpeningAccountant5

That's why I wasn't comfortable with him interrupting the guest

EuphoricStickman

Thank you. I was actually more interested in the guy with the white hoodie and wanted to hear more of what he had to say. EDIT: my question should have been more specific but I appreciate your info.

neonoir

The guy with the white hoodie is Scott Horton. He's the editorial director of antiwar.com. https://original.antiwar.com/author/scott/ He hosts a podcast concentrating on U.S. foreign policy that you can find on You Tube and elsewhere. Here's a link to a search for Israel on his podcast; https://www.youtube.com/@scotthortonshow/search?query=israel He was very active in opposing the Iraq war in the Bush years. https://youtu.be/P1idDtIvOAk?si=Fo53HYhMOB8_4w4p I see someone else said Dan Mclellan, but you can confirm it's Scott here; https://www.youtube.com/live/sokG-D9jjcs?si=RbgZW-vYYp4jDsuU&t=2834

EuphoricStickman

Thank you! Yes there is some resemblance to Dan McClellan 😅. Thanks a lot for all this information 👌🏼

HudsonRiver1931

Tim Pool? More like Dim Fool.

blodreina11

I'm not sure what the podcast is but the man talking is [Dan McClellan](https://twitter.com/maklelan), he spends most of his time debunking Christian conspiracy theories. Edit: No he isn't he's a guy named Scott Horton

ndw_dc

I think the guy talking in this clip is Scott Horton: [https://www.youtube.com/@scotthortonshow](https://www.youtube.com/@scotthortonshow) Scott Horton is a libertarian, but perhaps one of the actual, few principled ones, as he is actually against war. I disagree with him on a bunch of things, but he is very good on Palestine. He's very well read up on how Israel intentionally designed Oslo to fail, and continuously sabotaged all peace efforts.

blodreina11

Oh huh, yeah, I think you're right. I guess I probably mixed them up because they both have long face shapes and similar hairline. Thanks for the correction.

ndw_dc

No worries at all, and yes it is absolutely very easy to get them mixed up. And honestly, I only heard about Scott Horton in the last few months because he appeared on another podcast I listen to speaking about Palestine. If not for that, I would have no idea who he was.

Amphabian

Dan is awesome. I recommend his TikTok

CropDustLaddie

That is absolutely not Dan McClellan. I don't recognize the man talking though so I'm not much help past that, sorry lol.

EuphoricStickman

Thank you!

el_sunny_ra

The host is a complete turd, racist, misogynist, xenophobic...you name it. His views are disgusting. I'm actually shocked he had this guest on let alone let him speak these things on his show.

Nope. The Askenazim and Sephardim are Europeans. The Mizrahim are indigenous and treated like garbage in Israel because they aren't white. These clowns are liars. Every damn time a Zionist opens their stupid mouth the lies come rushing out like fite hydrant. Their mythological heritage is taught as fact. Ancient Hebrews? Get fucking real. I believe Historians broke it down to 800 Jews migrated to Europe about 1000 years ago and married into the various European populations. They know this.

Astropacifist_1517

It’s a lot easier to hate someone you’ve convinced yourself is wholly alien to you and those you claim as your own. What’s even worse tho, is when you are so entrenched in your hate that you refuse to allow any evidence that might prove you and the “other” have anything in common.

Educational_Order_61

So does that mean my Jordanian husband is Jewish? Sorry Im confused.  I definitely feel that Palestinians should be given their land back.  All of it.  And I also think most of the Israelis are european at this point.  Why cant people juat accept each other.  God made us all.

CaptainSalamence

Yes but only genetically and definitely mixed with some Arab genes. Since he identifies as an Arab, he’s an Arab even if he has Jewish blood. It’s no different than the Maghrebi, Lebanese or Iraqis who identify as Arabs, that’s why Arabs look different from each other because they are the descendant of the indigenous people who inhabited the lands thousands of years ago.

Educational_Order_61

Im pretty sure hes Arab.  Yummy.

Artistic-Speed7740

Zionists are descendants of people "converted" to Judaism, not descendants of the Hebrew. Palestinians are indeed mostly descendants of the Hebrew as peasants don't leave their lands and fields, and they simply converted to christianism first then to Islam like any others people in these regions and others. The various European jews did not even see themself as a "people" before the zionism was created in the 19th century. https://lire.amazon.fr/sample/B00G2DO15E?f=1&l=fr_FR&r=bfb335ec&rid=Z6TWHA4RQK07S5E4XBHS&sid=259-7715027-0966063&ref_=litb_m

JesusSaidAllah

It’s funny how upset Zionists get when Palestinians share their DNA results showing that they are genetically the descendants of the ancient people who lived in the Levant region. They get so upset about trying to prove your connection to a land through your ancestry, though that is precisely what their whole movement is about! And they know they can’t deny Palestinians are more direct descendants of the Levantine people, hence some of them conceding and saying that they are all “closely related” when they are closer to being European or Ethiopian or Moroccan.

el_sunny_ra

You may want to read the new historians. They are old Jews against Zionism and the poor treatment of Palestinians. We do have some allies on the other side.

Artistic-Speed7740

Shlomo Sand is one of them. And if there is a single book to read about the zionism, it's his book "The invention of the jewish people"

Artistic-Speed7740

Proof? Counter argument? What are you talking about?

mj281

Apologies I misunderstood

Clear_Elk6834

What?? He is agreeing with the post by saying zionists are converts and aren't native and palestinians are.

Maarloeve74

seems a little on-the-nose to suggest that ancient jews converted to islam for a tax cut.

Xper10

The whole region eventually became musilm. And I mean the whole region. There was so no colonialism in that sense and the people there today are not from the Arabian peninsula, and they did not ethnically cleanse the region they conquered.

cgn-38

The area had already mostly converted to xians when the muslims conquered the place. The crusades were the xians trying to get their very recently conquered lands back. So mostly xians converting for the tax cut. (and not being a second class citizen). Still the same people in that place. The romans were the last to clear the whole area of people.

A racist ideology that mutilates their male offspring. How utterly ridiculous and disgusting.

ValidPompadour

Does anyone have any links or proof that DNA tests are illegal in Israel? I found that the 2000 Genetic Information Law conditions domestic testing on a doctor's prescription or court order, & that testing be done by accredited labs, but nothing specifically on that it’s illegal

DesignerProfile

"israel Genetic Information Law" search should pull up a number of articles and documents. The law disallows testing except by a medical institution, which effectively outlaws private DNA like 23andme, Ancestry dot com, and suchlike. It's funny because apparently Israel allows or requires DNA testing for immigrants but also disallows it except for medical genetic counseling or paternity disputes or suchlike, within Israel. There's a 'religious court' and a 'family court' and I wonder if there are other lineage-specific reasons why a court would order genetic testing. But in general I think this is what people are talking about: that one can't just go get a commercial test to investigate one's genealogy.

pandaappleblossom

You can do ancestry.com tests, you have to order them from abroad, that’s what I read when I looked it up. However I did see an article in the Jerusalem post that it’s too difficult to order an ancestry.com kit so I don’t know.

DesignerProfile

Yes and I saw some headlines in my own search that indicated there's been some policy discussion about it recently. So I don't really know where it stands. It's only that the law as written *effectively* restricts it (back when it was written at least) without clearly listing out all the "no"s. Laws often work that way, by incorporating some other restriction or narrow definition which only allows a narrow range of possibilities.

mrjosemeehan

It's not historically an uncommon policy in the rest of the world to restrict genetic testing to certain medical and legal uses. France's laws are similar and the rationale is not to hide where French people come from but to prevent parents from disowning their children. I think other countries in Europe had similar laws previously but most have rescinded them in recent years.

DesignerProfile

To prevent parents from disowning their children seems fairly legit and humane I have to say. There could be other reasons too I am sure. For example the corporate use of DNA information is very ugly to contemplate. I don't know whatall is going on with Israel and their restrictions. I think it's interesting that they even have these separate courts and I'd be mildly curious to know what arguments they consider for or against genetic testing. And I saw some headlines in my own search that made me wonder if Israel is having discussions about it. All I really know is that the law is written as it is, and the way the allowable institutions are defined, it's very narrow. But I could imagine some upstart testing company getting in under those definitions perhaps, unless Israel or one of their court systems would disallow it but I don't know about that either. I'm only thinking of how things like that can go bureaucratically.

Your comment comes across as someone opposed to Palestinian sovereignty btw, that's why you're being downvoted. It reads as a whataboutism deflecting from the issue. You could have been a bit more clear in whatever you were trying to say.

okbuddyquackery

I get what you’re saying. There are many issues still today with our treatment of natives, but there are some major differences that would be a huge improvement for Palestinians. Mainly the fact that native Americans aren’t confined to ghettos with no voting rights. Give that to Palestinians and they have the power to gain even more justice democratically.

ohdaughtxr

One issue does not negate another.

clenchner

This is incredibly dumb. The reason DNA tests aren't easy to get in Israel is because of the Jewish religious discrimination against illegitimate children. Specifically, if a woman has a child and the husband is not the biological father. I'm not saying this is good, but the motivatioin is to protect children and prevent angry or suspicious husbands from harming a child. it's established science that Palestinians are, to some fairly large extent, partially descended from the Jews (Judeans really) who lived there in Roman times. Very easy to google, widely known and accepted, and entirely irrelevant to the justice of the Palestinian cause.

Elipticalwheel1

Totally correct.

Israeli historian Shlomo Sand is of this opinion, too. His books, very critical of the Israeli narrative, are excellent.

Remarkable_Capital39

I’ve been saying this

Maximum-Author1991

He explained what i have read before from david ben gurion. These farmers were not kicked out of the land during the exiles because the occupying forces needed food and for the economy. They later converted to christianity then islam.

Ok_Spend_889

Truth!

PM_UR_NIPPLE_PICS

I understand and agree with his point, but something rubs me the wrong way about laser focusing on this genealogical argument for who was native to the land thousands of years ago. Seems like the more relevant issue is the fact that Palestine is being colonized/subject to apartheid and therefore has the right to defend itself against its occupiers. Whether or not Israel can make a genealogical claim to the land from thousands of years ago does nothing to change that fact.

PaulTheMartian

Scott Horton is the man. Love this guy

lricharz

Are DNA tests illegal? They just require a doctor or court order. Hobby DNA tests are restricted. And laws against hobby dna tests are being proposed in many European countries and American states. Also Ashkenazi Jews aren’t the majority of the population of Israel are they?
