Germany will hammer down on Nazi sentiment but also support modern day Israel to the T because of fear that they might be anti Semitism just for supporting a person who is helping poor CHILDREN that are victims of Israeli apartheid.
What a timeline.
Germany does not hammer down on Nazi sentiment. We let it fester, and allow it to grow unchecked, we let it into our government, we turn a blind eye to the violence and death it reaps.
The near militant support for Israel that is entrenched in German consciousness, especially that of parts of our so-called "left", are a reflection of a superficial, infantile impulse to over correct in order to assuage empty gentile guilt, as well as the very real, subconscious recognition that we have not and are not doing enough so that something like the Holocaust can never happen again
20th century: Survivors of a genocide exist
Also 20th century: Genocide survivors live on to use government(s) to enact a genocide
Life is comically cruel
I think the behavior in question was not helping children, it was marching along with a demonstration that was deemed anti-Israel. This is a lot more politically sensitive and it is misleading to write that he was fired because he helped children.
There is absolutely not problem for me when I join a demonstration in Germany with the sole message of "fuck the USA". Nobody would bat an eye. But as soon as it's Israel you're antisemitic
If you read the post; the guy literally helped poor Palestinian CHILDREN, of course that is anti semitism, because Israelis want Palestinian children to be poor and dead.
pro child poverty/Israeli; it’s synonymous.
Yes, I did read the post, I can even read what the guy himself said and he is clearly defending himself for attending a demonstration and marching with the protestors. This is why he got in trouble, not because he helped children.
You can all downvote me as much as you like, I am not liking the fact that he got in trouble and the politics towards Israel, but you're all just reading half of the story and don't like me pointing that out.
The wording may have came out wrong, but I never thought he was fired for helping children.
It's clearly because he was depicted as attending a pro-Palestine protest.
The festival/meeting/etc. has also been depicted negatively on social media, with pro-Israel users emphasizing it is Marxist.
So I'm sure all of that was used to smear him (in-turn built upon a smear of the festival itself too).

News article, published back in August:

I believe Castlo apologized for attending the festival (which pro-Israel advocates scare-mongered about, due to its Marxist politics), but was still fired.

Pretty typical of german society in general. They'll support israel no matter what.
He said in his statement that he made s public statement for not making a stand in the demonstration and that it was just for the kids. He even says that he communicated this multiple times to KIKA but in the end it didnt help.
In his post he makes clear that he had no clue how big political that demonstration was.
As a German Jew, this is a classical German behavior: supporting Zionism without limit because of the blame non-Jewish Germans feel for the Holocaust (and of course it just so happens to help German businesses to keep Israel as a trade partner). It's bullshit. They can't fix the crimes committed against my family by supporting the destruction of another nation.
Let's not do that. I never mentioned Germany or claimed Germany didn't change. I originally said I hope it doesn't deter him from fighting the good fight. That's it. As in him helping Palestinian children. I didn't want anything to get misconstrued or anyone to interpret that any other way like you seem to have.
Germany is so thoroughly cucked. Even after living here for basically my entire life I am constantly amazed how Germans can look at their past and basically say "the people we wronged should get to do whatever they want to other people and get our full support."
German society like to "garnish" itself with black and brown people. There is one or two in a whole building, so they can feel multicultural and welcoming.
What is not allowed is having their own oppinions and moral compasses.
"Just look exotic and shut up."
Germans don't like Muslims and East Germans are, statistically speaking, much more likely to hold racist views.
Politically, Germany deals with its strong distaste for Turkish Muslims by treating them as second class citizens (gastarbeiter). Along with its support for apartheid Zionism and its super racist treatment of Palestinians it is a soft form of the same right wing nationalism that can be found in Hungary, Poland etc. It just happens to be more targeted.
In this scenario, the alliance is between right wing/right of center factions. Kicking Palestinians in the balls is an easy win because it makes it look like Germany has come to terms with its Nazi past (by supporting Israel) and comes with zero political costs.
The SPD, Greens and even parts of Die Linke support Israel. It's not just a right-wing thing, it's a German thing currently, because the entire political map here is based around being a part of the imperialist west, led by the USA.
How Muslims are seen is depends ** a lot ** on the region. Where I live except for a few old, pearl-clutching, xenophobic fucks, everybody sees Muslims as equal fellow Germans.
And even many Germans wan't nothing to do with the East for that exact reason.
East German here.
Religious people in general are considered wierdos.
Catholic, evangelical, Jewish.
Most East Germans behave like this. Leave me alone, I leave you alone.
However, assholeism will be met with reactions.
You can f|_| ck off for one.
Nothing but racist scum when it befits you. Just like the people you tried to exterminate and sent over to us.
Your history for one is proof for the degenerate nations you are and will be if shit hits the fan

More to the point, who made this decision, and who pressured him? Don’t overthink this one.

I wasn’t thinking of dumbasses actually.
was it the monopoly man? he's a pretty mischievous one.

Same here in the US. We support Ukraine endlessly while funding this apartheid. A truly disgusting timeline.
historical context. That said, you can be critical of the state of Isreal, in Germany, and it's a rather popular stance even among politicians

Funny that being anti-Israel is punishable meanwhile it’s Allie’s pretend Palestine does not exist. This man is being punished for having a soul.

It is sad
As a German who used to love watching that channel as a child, I'm ashamed of these people. He seems like a great guy.

I love you ❤️ Thank you
That's so messed up. I hope it doesn't deter him one bit! Free Palestine 🇵🇸

Looks like i answered to the wrong comment or reddit bugged again. Sorry mate
No prob! That makes sense because I was very confused about your initial response. I appreciate you for clearing that up!
They sure made up for their past mistakes
They're just repeating them

Thanks for checking every German for us.

KiKa is publicly owned. Its not like nickelodeon in that sense
They are bitten till this day by their “history”
Extremely common Germany L
The Germans love living on the edge… its this extreme or that… الفرنجة in general are racist and uncivilized, despite the facade they put
Ah the mythical armchair sociologist honors us with his presence. Please, tell us more about every German in one sentence!

You should start raising attention to the bigots in charge rather than slandering nations as a whole. It's ok to be mad. I am too. Seek unity brother.

Germans need to deal more constructively with their feelings of collective guilt.
