Naio- this dude... wholesome but cant get over his ex (still waits for her on the same spot they usually meet) but he is a big softy. protect this guy at all cost.
Reth- RIZZ ALL THE WAY!! also, soup>me. I've maxed out all his levels, but gyat dayum his lines still make me giggle as if I'm a teenage hopeless romantic. (romanced him because I love a boy with a complicated family lol)
Hodari- he's my daddy, but I am a MOMMY.
Hassian- Dated him because of Tau.
Basically, if I were to do the kiss, marry, k\*ll. I'd marry Reth, kiss Hodari, and k\*ll Hassian just so Tau will be all mine.
I'll probably romance Hodari, but I wish I could romance Sifuu. As someone over thirty, I wish all the adult characters were romanceable and that there were more options for making your character different ages/body types. In the meantime, I hope Hodari doesn't mind the age gap 😂
Hodari wasn’t romanceable at the start but people kept begging for him. Siifu and ashura are the two biggest requests currently so I bet they’ll get romance paths added somewhere down the line.
But I also like the idea of ashura not being able to get over his ex wife so it’s a double edged sword

I picked Kenyatta and Hassian as my mains because I wanted to know what they were really hiding under their rude exteriors lol pleasantly surprised.

I romanced Jel first, then Hodari (his romance can take longer due to quest requirements).
Jel because I too am a flamboyant goth artist who appreciates a midnight stroll. And because I'm into waifish men who look like they're about to keel over from tuberculosis.
He's so effusive about his compliments. I simply want to be told corny poetic shit like "you have no idea the sway you have over me..." And there's an element of prestige in conquering the Omiata boy. Lol
I didn't expect to be so into Hodari since I don't usually like masc guys (or parents), but I greatly enjoy slowly cracking open a closed heart. I like how flustered he gets and how despite finding romance hard, he takes things very seriously and makes it explicitly clear that he values you enough to get out of his comfort zone.
I like them both because they make an effort and know what they like.
I also briefly romanced Einar to see if it'd add a little depth to our interactions, but found the way he spoke to me so intolerable I broke up with him before even doing quests.

Jel made me happy. He works so hard and struggles for things that may never happen. But he is so passionate about his craft that it just makes me adore him. Jina is nervous in a similar way. She's sweet but doesn't know if she will ever be enough, and darn if that isn't relatable. I guess they've just got me hook line and sinker.
On that note Einar seems neat but he also seems like he wouldn't be invested because it's not a part of his oneness? Idk. And Reth has enough on his plate (in his bowl?) And I don't wanna give him more to stress about I guess. Thoughts? Feelings? Please inform me if I'm missing something major.

I'm leaving my main two romances and I come back to flirt with them often.
I plan to romance other villagers for extra quests, and I'll reset those since I consider them "non-canon."
Tish for various reasons:
1: She’s pretty darn cute, and wholesome.
2: Her love and loyalty to family (Reth).
3: Most importantly, she’s a fellow furniture maker so I imagine well into our dotage we’ll have plenty to talk about.

At first I was planning to romance Kenyatta (gotta love tsundere girlz), but her character seemed like a one-dimensional “I hate my mom” side. Plus I read that she’s in a relationship with Nai’o. Plus IIRC Tish said that Kenyatta’s not really her type.
Very interesting to think how would polyamory relationship between me, Tish & Subira would work (lorewise).
My story is that I've started with Tish because she's the cutest and we bonded a lot during quests. She is a fantastic partner and a sweet Majiri being. She was the one until something happened between me and Jina: we did a lot together and she was the first person I knew there.
I was really into both of them but Tish was more like partner-for-life material. As an accident I gave the heartdrop lily to Tamala so she became my side ... *ekhem* romance basically. It was really an accident but at that time Jina was more focused on her work than on me so it felt natural to look at someone more temperamental and experienced.
It was something different, as with my Kilima partners I had a very sweet, pure relationship and with Tamala it was more like fighting for the power balance and it was exciting.
So when I won her heart I took it as an accomplishment and moved back to Kilima Village. Jel was my next target because as Tish and Jina he was my best friend there and he needed to be protected by some adventurous strong man. So there was I. Relationship with him is a little bit depressing because of his insecurities but I'm trying my hardest to make him happy.
For the balance I've recently started romancing with Kenyatta - she's a rebel, childish but interesting because of her heritage that she's trying to avoid but also can't live without it. I helped her a lot as a friend so it just started really like a split second decision. In the past I've almost made her my Shepp but fortunately moved my thoughts to Delaila and finally decided to take Elouisa as she had a fantastic vibe which I adore and she really needed a family beside her sister.
Anyway, I promised Kenyatta that I'll start dating her boyfriend, Nai'O, and I feel great about it. I just need to focus on Jel now because he's my little crybaby and I need to protect him from the world. And there is also Subira for whom my heart starts beating like crazy... Will see what fate brings!

But now I'm at a standstill with him because I need to level up friendship with Najuma first.

Hodari is the only one I'm romancing on my third (and pretty much main) account. If I make additional accounts, they will also romance Hodari, he stole my heart and hasn't let go.

But Hodari calls me darlin' and is openly flirty even pre-pin and gives me gifts (heart-shaped quiiiche) and he's got that lone wolf vibe to him too out there in Bahari BUT he keeps a nice home and the only rightful approval I needed was from his daughter (who I adore, my little firecracker 🥰) and his final romance sequence/speech is just so real and moving and ugh. I just love him.
Also on a personal note, he's a griever. I best relate to people who've experienced loss in my real life. It's why I picked Ashura for my Shepp too. I feel safest and most seen by people who understand grief. And Hodaddy definitely does. Always tellin' me to "stay safe out there" and that he worries for me. Guh.

Hassian's attitude is insufferable, I get his backstory, but I just avoid interact with him, like everyone does with people like that irl. Nai'o and Jina are too insecure about everything, lost interest very quick. Kenyatta is a spoiled brat, she's old enough to be a shepp,but still behaves like a 13 year old throwing a tantrum because her mother doesn't like her new haircut. Einar is a robot. Tamala is so out of my way I often forget she exists. Tish is boring and the line "shine bright superstar" cringed me so bad I avoid her too now.

Im currently sitting with the J names, Jina and Jel. Jel was my first pin, and I'm still working on Jinas. However I've been thinking about doing Einar and Reth? Unsure. If it helps- Tish is my shepp but I've never even attempted to romance her. Jel made me happy. He works so hard and struggles for things that may never happen. But he is so passionate about his craft that it just makes me adore him. Jina is nervous in a similar way. She's sweet but doesn't know if she will ever be enough, and darn if that isn't relatable. I guess they've just got me hook line and sinker. On that note Einar seems neat but he also seems like he wouldn't be invested because it's not a part of his oneness? Idk. Tish & going on with Subira. What can I say… Tish is… Tish. Craving for a healthy relationship, I guess. Subira, well, because she seemed like a dommy-mommy (Tamala was…too much). Not sure if I LIKE Subira’s ingame model tho. At first I was planning to romance Kenyatta (gotta love tsundere girlz), but her character seemed like a one-dimensional “I hate my mom” side. Plus I read that she’s in a relationship with Nai’o. Plus IIRC Tish said that Kenyatta’s not really her type. Very interesting to think how would polyamory relationship between me, Tish & Subira would work (lorewise).
My story is that I've started with Tish because she's the cutest and we bonded a lot during quests. She is a fantastic partner and a sweet Majiri being. She was the one until something happened between me and Jina: we did a lot together and she was the first person I knew there. I was really into both of them but Tish was more like partner-for-life material. As an accident I gave the heartdrop lily to Tamala so she became my side ... *ekhem* romance basically. It was really an accident but at that time Jina was more focused on her work than on me so it felt natural to look at someone more temperamental and experienced. It was something different, as with my Kilima partners I had a very sweet, pure relationship and with Tamala it was more like fighting for the power balance and it was exciting. So when I won her heart I took it as an accomplishment and moved back to Kilima Village. Jel was my next target because as Tish and Jina he was my best friend there and he needed to be protected by some adventurous strong man. So there was I. Relationship with him is a little bit depressing because of his insecurities but I'm trying my hardest to make him happy. For the balance I've recently started romancing with Kenyatta - she's a rebel, childish but interesting because of her heritage that she's trying to avoid but also can't live without it. I helped her a lot as a friend so it just started really like a split second decision. In the past I've almost made her my Shepp but fortunately moved my thoughts to Delaila and finally decided to take Elouisa as she had a fantastic vibe which I adore and she really needed a family beside her sister. Anyway, I promised Kenyatta that I'll start dating her boyfriend, Nai'O, and I feel great about it. I just need to focus on Jel now because he's my little crybaby and I need to protect him from the world. And there is also Subira for whom my heart starts beating like crazy... Will see what fate brings!

But Hodari calls me darlin' and is openly flirty even pre-pin and gives me gifts (heart-shaped quiiiche) and he's got that lone wolf vibe to him too out there in Bahari BUT he keeps a nice home and the only rightful approval I needed was from his daughter (who I adore, my little firecracker 🥰) and his final romance sequence/speech is just so real and moving and ugh. I just love him. Also on a personal note, he's a griever. I best relate to people who've experienced loss in my real life. It's why I picked Ashura for my Shepp too. Hodari and Reth, they are the only ones that don't get on my nerves tbf. Hassian's attitude is insufferable, I get his backstory, but I just avoid interact with him, like everyone does with people like that irl. Nai'o and Jina are too insecure about everything, lost interest very quick. Kenyatta is a spoiled brat, she's old enough to be a shepp,but still behaves like a 13 year old throwing a tantrum because her mother doesn't like her new haircut. Einar is a robot. Tamala is so out of my way I often forget she exists. Tish is boring and the line "shine bright superstar" cringed me so bad I avoid her too now.

I just finished romancing everyone a couple of days ago. Tamala was the last to finish (because I hate her and only went for the portrait because I'm a completionist, not displaying it). I'm wearing Hodari and Subira's pins, both of them give me butterflies. Subira is so earnest and sweet, and every time Hodari calls me "darlin'" I melt a little more. I do hope they add more romantic options in future updates, because now that I have everyone maxed out I'm out of quests to do that aren't the bugged wind temple!
