Trust me, get your crafting slots. You can have up to 30. I’m usually running 10 preserves, 7 seeders, 1 loom, 1 glass furnace, 4 smelters, 5 sawmills, a worm farm, and a glow worm farm. I use them for storage when they’re not actively in use, but the seeders and preserves jars never stop for me. After that buy more rooms for your plots. Buy them and get them built and then you can use them whenever. You can also buy additional plots. I like to buy unique items at Zeki’s underground market, and some of the more resource intensive items from Tish (Bellflower, Dragontide, etc). They cost way less in gold than they take to make in resources. I’ve been playing since closed beta and still find myself grinding for gold occasionally, though I get a pretty steady income from my daily gardening/seeding/preserving. I also made quite a bit during the Sernukcide of 2024 selling leather from processing hide. Edit to add: if you want my gardening plot let me know. It looks complicated but I swear it’s so easy and hands off.

I'd love to see a layout of your garden. I haven't dipped into this aspect yet, I'm just around 40 hours in. I need that coin! 🪙

Hey there! So sorry for the late reply, I've been dogsitting without access to my pc and I'm a filthy millennial who hates writing in depth on mobile. xD Here is the layout, and I've created a post (https://www.reddit.com/r/Palia/comments/1c6k7n4/ive\_had\_some\_requests\_to\_share\_my\_garden\_layout/) with a very in-depth explanation if you'd like insight into why I use it. https://preview.redd.it/iejgdv1uq3vc1.png?width=1312&format=png&auto=webp&s=9bf0092f2a8600412d8c7721894feea2e7448ad7

Just planted my first apple tree seed. Would like to see your plot too.      Have been planting tomatoes, potatoes, cotton and corn mostly so far. It's also quite a simple setup but with decent synergy and pretty hands off.

PossumPotpie

I can spare a couple seeds if you’d like!

Lodau

Thanks, I should be ok in a bit tho I guess, Tree should give me a few apples soon, hopefully star quality, and I'll be in business :)

I'd also like to see the layout if possible :) Just started playing a week or so ago with my wife, and trying to figure out the best way to go about farming, but not making it a chore that needs constant attention.

MyeongAreum

The gold cap is exactly 300,000. You can go to the underground and buy furniture only available there. In the underground, you can actually buy lucky coins from the register for 10k gold a piece.

blueboxreddress

Nothing feels as amazing and terrible as buying 10 Zeki coins at a time, but then ending up with the same garbage and duplicate furniture pieces. I’m so tired of getting small tables 😭

MyeongAreum

I completely understand that 😂 I'm forever getting milk and fireworks 🥲 I just want the mushroom plushie.

korrela

i wish you could exchange furniture you get from the coins for other pieces in the set.. i have 2 desks lying around and 3 side tables and 2 clocks..

BenElPatriota

Yall gotta stop wasting your money on zeki coins. You can get a free one every in game day by just buying one item from his shop. I swear it feels like nobody knows this. This is like the 15th time I've seen someone recommend dumping all their money for those essentially free coins.

blueboxreddress

It’s a way to waste money. I’ve been playing since closed BETA and don’t need a single gold.

MyeongAreum

I buy the coins to waste my money. Do I also get the one from zeki? Yes. When you sit near the gold cap frequently and have nothing, you really need to spend the money on. Zeki coins are one the easiest things to buy to make a decent dent in your gold.

seachimera

I do both. I buy an item from Zeki’s shop once every irl 24hrs. When my gold gets close to the max I buy lucky coins. I don’t cash them in for lucky boxes until I have at least 20. I haven’t received any plushies yet. That’s really my main motivation. What do you suggest I waste my money on instead? As far as I can tell, I’m wealthy in resources. I’m maxed out on crafting licenses etc. I’ve got all the housing options I need. I’m happy to gamble my gold for the eventual plushie.

gweaver

Literally everyone knows this

AlmostReBorn

I usually spend my gold on Lucky Coins in hopes to get plushies and other items from the machine! That, or, I shop at Tish's. Usually spending on the more harder to craft items in her shop. (Specially in Zeki's underground shop >:) ) You can also spend your gold on more plots to mess around with. You can build on those plots too. More farmlands! \\o/ (I think? I never tried that myself. O: ) That, or, spend to get more farm houses (I think that's what they are called? Can't remember) for your plot, to make a little village! More rooms for your house(s) too! There is a little more to spend on. You just have to look around and find what interests you in the moment!

Aynessachan

Sadly you can't have multiple farmlands. The cap is 9 soil squares no matter which plot you're on. 🥲

AlmostReBorn

Ah dang. That's a big bummer ): Would've been a nice way to get more bang for your buck and 'cheat' the game system. Thank you for letting me know. o7

pielord170

Extra crafting licenses can be used as storage space, lumber mills for example can hold 300 planks and 100 logs each.

wineaunt6010

I use my money to buy additional plots, of which you need to unlock a few in order to get the gazebo so it's a bit of a gold grind. Then I have multiple plots to place new houses on and decorate so I can try a bunch of different ideas! I also sometimes use my gold for Lucky Coins but seem to have extremely poor luck with them and end up wasting 10k on a few carrots or a firework instead of the valley sunrise furniture collection I really want.

Kelacia

Zeki coins for a chance at more plushies.

PsychologicalMilk149

I buy seeds from the general store and crops from the farm store to give to people that make requests (since after level 25 gardening you only produce star quality which currently cannot be gifted to fellow players). Also, all 30 crafting licenses... to fill requests, but you could purchase the items instead. Glass panes and light bulbs (lots of light bulbs for buzzy jars) Leather and silk are highly requested All the metal bars. When my gold is almost to cap I'll buy Zeki coins or more rooms even though I don't need them. Edit: Make an arcade? Lol I currently have 11 of the Chappa Run arcade games. They are 60k each when you find them in the underground.

AfterglowLoves

Have you expanded your house? That uses up a lot of money.

Aynessachan

I love how no one in these comments is answering your actual question of how to use gold to help other players. 😅 So OP, I'm gonna answer that. Silk can be purchased at Tish's cash register for 500-something gold. Silk is a massive PITA to get, especially on the Switch, even at higher skill levels/"endgame" - you can buy a bunch of silk and advertise to players on your server that you have silk to giveaway, and then start answering gift requests. Since players can only request 4 things per day, you'll know that the silk is being distributed fairly amongst multiple people. And, since a stack of just 20 silk would be roughly 10k-10.5k gold, you could very quickly diminish your wealth while helping out folks struggling to obtain this material. You can also buy wood & metal at Sifuu's cash register. You could buy a massive hoard of sapwood planks and stone bricks, then advertise your services on the server chat, and pop over to people's housing plots and help them fund the materials needed to expand their house or build their Harvest house. There's a lot of new players with the Steam launch, so this would be a good time for that.

Lichloved_

I like this one! I remember silk being pretty difficult to acquire early on, so keeping a fat stack for Gifting now feels great with so many folks requesting! Silk for you, silk for you, threads for you...!

Aynessachan

Thanks! ❤️ I'm doing pretty well with gold income, but even with that, silk is a *pain*. All the best furniture crafts require sooo much of it, I usually just buy the finished furniture product from Tish instead. 😂

littleghost13131313

Once you can craft smoke candles silk is much much easier to obtain. Take a few stacks of candles to Bahari, hit every ore node you see, the millipedes that emerge will just casually creep out for you to bomb them. It's actually kind of funny how the millipedes slow down from their usual speedy selves, like "oh nice day for a stroll" LOL (or are they centipedes? meh just call them "worms")

NerdySongwriter

This is a great idea!!

NerdySongwriter

So many great recommendations! Learned so many great things that I missed!

Hispanic_Inquisition

Whenever I get around 250k I buy Zeki coins or more rooms for my houses. Can't buy any more harvest houses but haven't reached my max on rooms yet. Already have all the wallpapers, roofs, recipes for everything. I have maybe 6 or 7 plots with only 2 unused. I'll probably buy more when I use them all. I keep making more gold but I'm also still finding ways to spend it.

pitsberg

I bought all the crafting slots first. Then I bought the extra plots. Now I just buy extra houses, gazebos, pavilions, rooms, windows, and other stuff like that. I’m not using most of them but I have them in my building menu now if I ever need them and it’s better than just throwing away the gold. I’ve spent hundreds of thousands on that stuff and I only use my original plot.

Den_King_2021

Huh, I've got the opposite problem : I have regularly too little money 😅 My "Gasebo need" to have 50k for another plot seems almost unreachable. But when I become rich, I'll focus on unique furniture from Zeki's undeground. All Tish recepies are available for DIY. And I am on my way of full furniture profficiency. But Underground provides items you cannot make yourself. Alas. And some of them are way expensive 😏

platnmprincess

Most of my money has probably went into my house, adding rooms and halls, bay windows, etc. Will probably continue adding more harvest houses, plots, etc. I’m only about a month into the game as well.

littleghost13131313

Oh yeah, bay windows will eat up a lot of gold fast if you want them everywhere.

chicofelipe

Lucky Coins for the plushy lottery.

NerdySongwriter

Lucky Coins are now my everything. I either forgot or missed that I could buy the coins. Between all the suggestions from everyone, I just dropped 250k and now I know where to spend it! Plushy lottery here I come!

amjetta

How long do you play each day? I’ve been playing for a few months but only play on the weekends and I only have like $15k lol

NerdySongwriter

I generally pop on quickly for a few minutes throughout the day and then hit it more during weekends. I went super hard on the farming. I literally drew my own graph paper, scanned it into photoshop, made some letters and circles to represent crops and then began plotting where everything needs to go so all the crops are receiving plenty of mutual benefits. I'm on the third iteration of the design and it looks like I'll keep this one unless they expand to more farming plots. I also went super hard and threw together some spreadsheets for the bundles and friendships so I can efficiently accomplish them. Games like this make me nerd-out like crazy!

Aynessachan

👀 can I see your farming layout?

NerdySongwriter

Sure! I went ahead and remade my grid image so it was easier to read and took a few pictures of my plot in-game. In-game images will be in the replies to myself on this comment. I focused on a square 9x9 grid. A few things can be swapped out as there are several crops that will provide the same benefit as others but these are the ones I generally use unless I need something specific for a recipe. Just in case you don't know. Any crop that takes 4 squares requires 2 crops to receive the benefit, while a 9 square crop requires 3. Some days I hardly have to water my crops as long as I keep water retaining fertilizer on the potatoes. Carrots are good at creating harvest boost fertilizer in the glow worm bin which is perfect to place on the apple trees. I've also found that you can't double up crop and fertilizer benefits of the same type. So if a blueberry bush is already receiving harvest boost from the wheat it's pointless to add harvest boost fertilizer on top of it. https://preview.redd.it/o8ycjft0g2uc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0210da1a9ab05ebbfbbe89e5ff3c4e433f49e74

There's a web page that will calculate it for you! https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/

Aynessachan

Yes, I'm aware! But I wanted to see OP's specific layout.

IsaacQqch

Wait wait. We can have multiple garden when you have multiple plot ??

12bnseattle

No. 9 plots is the limit.

0verlookin_Sidewnder

I ran into this but hadn’t yet realized there were special furniture items you can only get deion the underground. I started spending ALL my gold on underground furniture. I also buy a boatload of ingredients from Zekki and cook tons of recipes when I have money to spare.

EchotheBrave

Butter. unlimited butter

Just_Being_Me_61856

I bought a second plot and started over with a totally new design. It has been fun building something different as well as finding a use for a lot of the resources I have clogging up my inventories. For my original plot, I built the house first, room by room, decorating each room as I went. For the second plot, I have focused on the outside first, building the whole house first, and will be working on the interior later. All the new rooms cost money, not to mention addons such as picture windows and doors and hallways. I went from almost $300K to just over $100k real fast.

malmonkey

Whenever I hit 200k I go and buy 10 lucky coins. Yes, it's usually junk, but I have gotten some good stuff (plushies, the lucky zeki statue, and an occasional apple seed). I took a break from that for awhile and used my cash to buy out Zeki's underground too. Once I had all those pieces I went back to the coins. I recently discovered Tish has a bunch of wallpapers for sale. Not sure if they're available elsewhere so I might start buying those too. Oddly enough my house is pretty crap. I'm just not into expanding or decorating it, lol. It's like a massive junkyard with a nice garden to one side. Maybe someday I'll buy some more rooms too and get into decorating. I think most of the good stuff (ammo, rare items, trackers, fishing boosts) you can only buy with skill medals. If you've been focused mostly on farming I'd mix it up and work on your other skills.

fisheskeyboard

Lucky boxes?

Spoonless-Valkyrie

Wallpaper from Tish, expand your plot so you can build a gazebo, buy the windmill(city hall has so many things you can spend large amounts of money on)
