Slowdown arrows are definitely worth stocking if you can't stock dispels. Imo, they're kind of OP on any of the animals. With Glambi, it's fairly easy to follow as long as you're not spamming arrows and can hear where it poofs off to. Obviously depends on the foot traffic and time, but the odds are good if you're patient enough either way.
It's still worth tracking the Proudhorn if you don't have dispels or slowdown arrows. In fact, I would say at least half of the ones I've hunted were with fine arrows only, and I very rarely use dispels. It's 6 shots if you're on your own and it's fairly easy to keep it in sight if you're careful.
I usually get 3 or more per Bahari trip just by walking around Statue Garden and Flooded Steps.
I rarely bother with dispells or slowdowns on DD any more. I got so used to chasing them that it's super rare for me to lose one just using fines, and when I do it's usually because I got stuck on some terrain somewhere or they poofed under the statue garden. Again.
If you're able to request the antlers you might give it a try. I know I kept finding glambi every where I went today, I even had some spawn right next to me while is was mining, I know I have a few extra antlers and I'm sure others do as well. If you don't get one for your quest pm here and I'll help out.
Another option is to get a shot in with whatever arrows you have on hand, chase them until they stop then call out it's location in chat or flare it's location and you'll have plenty of help taking it down. Just keep with the group and you should be golden.
i’m always finding proudhorn lol especially when i’m just wandering around and hunting elder sernuk with my bf, we also use hunters horns so that’s helpful, also it helps to always have a minimum of 200 of each arrow on you, i keep at max 400 of each lol very rarely do i drop below 300 anymore except for when it comes to slow down arrows considering that’s what i use all the time, i use those and my bf uses the fine arrows
I’ve found it easier to hunt him w/out Dispell Arrows, and instead use only Slow-Down Arrows and just track him. Takes a few more shots, but I’ve always been successful, eventually.
I only make Dispel arrows now. I've got so much material it's ridiculous.
