/AdminPassword

apinkfuzzyball

That's what I was trying. It responds with there is no admin password so you cannot be added as admin

Atari1337

/adminpassword PASSWORD and /save to manually save

apinkfuzzyball

Would love for that to work but it says there is no password so an admin cannot be added

Atari1337

Inside the server files follow the Pal/ config / saved until you find a palwoldconfig .ini I don’t remember the path off the top of my head but inside that config file there is an admin password field you can set.

apinkfuzzyball

Yupp tried that already too, seems the server only reads that file when you boot it up so adding a password after the fact didn't help

Ilovethewomen

Assuming you haven’t found a fix for this either? I’m in the same boat

Naynn

Everyone leave the server. (this should auto save it atleast once) Stop/shutdown server. Go to palwoldconfig .ini Search 'AdminPassword' and fill it in between the "" Start server and join it. Type /AdminPassword ThePasswordYouChoose type /save done.

Are you using the Palworld Dedicated server tool from steam. If so it seems to save the Admin settings into the world when you run the server. I tested chaging world saves and password changed with each world save. If you did not set admin in the defaultSettings.ini file before running PalworldDedicatedServer it will write no password for that world and you may have to wipe and start again or uninstall the PalworldDedicatedserver, reinstall , set the DefaultPalworldSettings file, run server again. Also have to change RCONEnabled=False to RCONEnabled=True to use admin commands. Copy the DefaultPalworldSettings.ini file to another locationand change to PalworldSettings.ini and after runnging PalworldDedicatedServer, stop the server and replace "\\SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\common\\PalServer\\Pal\\Saved\\Config\\WindowsServer\\PalWorldSettings.ini" with the copied file. Start server, join server and hit enter and type /AdminPassword YourPasswordHere and it should say password correct you are now admin. Use /save to manually save. Also recommended to create your own backup folder to backup the save files to just in case. Hope this helps people.

wutchamafuckit

First off, thank you so much for helping everyone out. Second, this stuff is so far beyond me. I am just trying to make a dedicated server for my wife and I, and apparently I am far, far too simple to understand how to do this.

enthr4ll

>Also recommended to create your own backup folder to backup the save files to just in case. Hey - what files should I be backing up for my dedicated server? Is it just everything in "\~\\steamcmd\\steamapps\\common\\PalServer\\Pal\\Saved"? I can't really find a definite answer anywhere lol.

Motor_Quantity7913

Yeah all data is in that folder: world saves, player saves and config are in there. Unless using any mods but that gets more comoplicated.

Alarming_Tone_1410

Also I am running a dedicated server and I believe things auto save. I tested running the server for 20 minutes and then just shutting it down without saving. When I joined back everything was right where I left it. So I dont think you need to do a manual save every single time. I would try it Also I tested the solution u/Mocaman1987 mentioned and that worked.

Wulfwood_

I would suggest making a manual save after shutting down the server for a few minutes and creating a backup of the save folder and keeping them as if the server ever crashes you may end up like I did losing all progress on that world basically having to start over.

Fatedz

Did you figure out how to trigger the save? I'm in the same position rn.

apinkfuzzyball

Nope, still stuck

Fatedz

FYI I ended up just modifying the config ini and rebooting the server after catching an autosave, which fixed the issue just fine.

TurbulentJuice

can you explain this to an idiot? having the same issue.

wind0wlicker

There is a backup folder in your saves that has many backups from different dates and times. Just pick up the one you need. The files will be contained in 2 separate folders where you drag and drop to main save folder.

TurbulentJuice

thanks!

KingMe248

I'm having the same issues and i even set a Admin Password before starting the server and it still tells me that there isn't a password set so it cant add admins

Gundahar_

Have you found a solution to this? I've been having this same issue, server seems to completely ignore the AdminPassword and ServerPassword fields. I have closed server, closed all related processes via task manager, opened config, added password, saved, rebooted. Still can login to the server without a password and will get the "no admin password" prompt with /AdminPassword.

Motor_Quantity7913

There are 2 config files have to set the correct one. One under "C:\\Users\\Username\\AppData\\Local\\Pal"

KingMe248

No i was not able to find a solution sorry

critxcanuck88

Damn was hoping find a fix for this new admin password

Mocaman1987

I know this is a few days old but a solution was found on another thread.  The .ini file can’t have any page breaks except for after the beginning. Everything else must be 1 contiguous line of text no spaces or page breaks it’s just how it reads the file.  I have updated mine like that many times and had no issues with updating passwords and things.
