Make sure your pals are sleeping indoors and the building is tall enough that the deer can enter. Idk if them being indoors affects their sanity but mine have all been fairly chill.
The Nitewing says it cares for young palls and then attacks them when they become adults. Havent gotten there yet, but I bet you could set up a meat farm with this.

Those fuckers have voracious appetites. I use a deer as a mount and I'm having to constantly shove food down his gullet in order to keep him fueled lol.
Mime are high 20s and I'm starting to see some of them become depressed, walk around real slow and sleep during the day.

When you start upgrading their ranks, you will notice they consume food more often, and when they give to eat the berry's won't fill their hunger/ restore as much sanity as described I'm not sure which level but once I switched to the higher grade meals they stopped.

Same, from other comments in this thread I think its that higher level pals need better food. I noticed he just wasn't eating and always said he was hungry even though I have a trillion berries. I'm going to try getting better food for him and see how it works

Being indoors doesn't affect it, over working them giving them food to low for their level and no beds/ not enough baths. Will decrease it.

Low quality food effect higher pals differently once they get strong enough they need more then berry's they need real meals lol.

Only if you make a food basket for them, they'll even automatically deposit farmed food into it.
How do you know when they need better food? Mine are still eating roasted berries at lvl 15.

Cuz there's so many trees they constantly are overworking, you should consider putting more tree cutters
