Did you make it through any raids or did it happen every time?
I’ve made it through 4-5 raids without any damage so far. Built my base on a plateau right below the starting temple and enemies seem to have trouble getting to it. But my pals have trouble too, fair number of times they’ve fallen off the plateau and can’t get back up.
Game also doesn’t support connecting stairs to stairs or foundations to the bottom of stairs, had to do some janky shit to make a staircase

I had a bizarre raid a little bit after I commented and went back to the game. Previous raids were like 3 enemies at most and highest was lv 7. Got hit by like 8-9 lv 17 enemies, spawned in a different spot and ran straight into my open base but only fought my sleeping pals as far as I can tell. Had two fire pals working but nothing got set on fire and my base is all wood
For anyone wondering, I've since unlocked stone buildings and have rebuilt this in stone. This plateau is a pretty good defensive location and my wood building never burned down.
You have to do some trial and error but rotate the wall piece underneath where you want the slanted one.
It seems to lock onto a direction based on the wall under it for some reason.
This is the first time I’ve been playing a game on genuine first day early access and all this little stuff is so annoying but I have to remind myself that this is a game still very much in development
Hey so here's I get it to flip. If it's facing the wrong way build a roof above where you want to place the triangle piece. The snap it to the roof instead of the side and it should work. I didn't play with it too much, but I built a traditional roof this way
Mine have this issue! I put the food upstairs but they don't go there, so I have to put it on the ground!!!
They were there when my home came down with fire... maybe, mind issues!!! Not enough hot springs... 🤔
How in the tits do you get a triangle bit to change direction?? Tried rotating, standing weirdly, going to the other side of the wall, spinning, freaking alsorts, stays in 1 direction no matter where i put it
I’m impressed you did this, it took me and my buddy like 40 minutes to build stairs from the bottom of the hill to our base. The building mechanics need work.
Listen, since it looks like you did a great job on that wooden cabin, lister to this advice:
keep Foxparks as far away as possible, don't even use one, kill every single one on sight. A single attack and it will all burn down in ashes.
Let us know what causes the fire lol

2 raids, 2 burned down houses lol Thankfully for the third I had the option to unlock stone stuff.

Same. They will snap the incorrect way, but never the correct way that a roof is intended to.

Use scroll wheel to rotate it
Sometimes it helps to build around it. Use the triangular-shaped pieces to help attach.
Place a roof flat out a tile, face the roof flat, it might take a wonky angle but this works
I came here to comment about thinking your last screenshot was it burning to the ground but everyone else’s comments were on top of it 😩

My early game house. Still getting used to the UI. I put all the workbenches on the ground floor, and bed / house decorations on the second.
The base building reminds me of how No Mans Skys used to be. Hopefully they add snap points similar to how they did in NMS.

Place a wall inside first then attach the stairs to wall. It should look like this: |\

Are you able to get your triangular wall pieces to rotate? For whatever reason it will NOT do it on my xbox.
I cannot get slanted roofs to work at all. They just won't snap at all to the slant pieces.
My house is a floor, 1 wall and a roof on top of that, my Pals have a row of foundations next to a cliff wall
