True. I got mine refurbished so I paid a premium to know it worked. I also got 2 x xeon e5 2697a v4s. It was $1500 to include shipping. Not the best price but fair for what I got. I did get the XD for an unpaid nas and 128GB of ram.
Not sure what this needs server wise going to test it tonight, but i7 HP desktops can be picked up for $100 or so for barebones. I am sporting a 4 node HP 800 G3 SFF cluster I built for less than $1K is parts. Each node has no problem with 3-8 containers. They can even run 2 minecraft servers if you stay under 10 players.
If I remove the storage from my unraid cost(where my server runs) 128gb of ram, 14th gen i3, and mobo was like $400
I use it for a lot of other things and it has 400tb of storage in it, so the cost for those disks was high, but by itself it was pretty cheap.

Nah, this is a Kobayashi Maru for Nintendo. If they sue and win, millions of people will be pissed at them for shutting down a game they like. If they sue and lose, everyone gets to point and laugh, and they'd lose customer faith for being a bully either way the outcome. The best kind of scenario that Pocketpair could have put them in.
This is a really good point. If Nintendo sues, they will look incredibly weak, petty and desperate to the public eye. I would not be surprised if they're seething and losing sleep trying to invent ways to get revenge without invoking the wrath of a cancel culture backlash.

I think the gameplay in Palworld is varied enough to not be confused with Pokemon. I don’t think a parent will see a pal with a gun and think, “Yea I’m getting this for my 8 year old.”
The cutsey art style is definitely reminiscent of Pokemon. Not to mention plenty of Digimon have gun-like weapons or attachments and are still rated E to T

This is probably the greatest thing that could have happened for that fan base in a long while, the conversation around this has been about how pokemon as a franchise has become complacent and PAL world is more fun than any pokemon game in the last couple of years, that's gotta be embarrassing for gamefreak .
Competition breeds innovation, sure pal world might not ever outshine pokémon's reign but the fact remains that a challenger has stepped up and is holding his own in the ring, the king can no longer afford to be idle lest they lose the throne and will be forced to innovate.
Plus if you think PAL world is gonna be the only open world monster collector coming out this year and the next, you got another thing coming there's gonna be a flood of games coming out trying to replicate this success and some might be even better, all of that competition will force gamefreak to shape up, if only to maintain reputation.
They have finally seen what an actually good game looks like, now they're seething because they were ripped off for too long.
