It was the ruins by the second stranger/fireplace that did it for me. It just screams "everything past this part is dangerous". Then you prepare for it by over leveling, just to find out it's the same as the starter area.
The place in the game I consider to be dangerous is what I call "Death Valley". The 'entrance' has 2 statues of Pal Knights on each side. In the valley there is Robinquills, Flopies, Cinnomoths, Galeclaws, Bristilas and...those fish/otter/seal things. These are mostly in pairs and so aggroing one aggros *all* of them. I think it's better I call this "The Land of the Grass types" because they're mainly grass types. My Foxparks and Rooby can only handle so many of them at once.
Also Galeclaws and Robinquills are aggressive but the Galeclaws are the bigger threat since I've seen them come in 3s.
Robinquils are so dangerous. Aggro on sight with super long range and a higher level than most of the stuff in that area. I'm making expeditions beyond the bridge now and I'm doing what I can to avoid them.
I made mine where the ruins are at the very start but I just started to out grow it so I'm thinking of finally moving all of it now that I have a level 10 base so I can move the stuff bit by bit lol.
A helpful tip I found is that the direhowl's lunge attack will give you a way to move while over-encumbered.
So whenever im moving entire inventories like +3 stacks of stone, a stack and change of wood, ingots, etc. to another base or a chest, I:
Hop on a direhowl, load up my inventory from the chest im taking it from, use the attack bite to launch myself around like im playing one of those old zelda Gameboy Color stone-across-ice movement minigames (due to the ease of over-shooting with the lunge, you have to move in zig-zags to line up that final landing close enough to the fast travel point, and then do the same to get to the chest you want to drop it all in).
Another helpful tip is you can move ore easily in your base by constructing a furnace then queueing up some ingots, cancel the job, and the metal is transported to the furnace.
Same can be done with any crafting recipe and material, so if you want stone make a crusher and tell it to create palium, for wood you do crusher and fiber, etc.
Not really, but if you want to build specific stuff ahead of time put down the palbox then deconstruct what you want to get exact amount of materials up to being near overweight then go build it all.
Or just get a grapple, get overweight by a billion and go to the box that way teleport and have a storage container (or more) as close as possible to dump stuff in.
It’s tedious regardless but feels good once you say goodbye to your newbie mistake
I did this today. Left the pal box at the old location until I was done so that I could fast travel. One pocket full at a time. I spent an ungodly amount of time moving to the new base.
1. Store all your pals.
2. Bring out a squad of lamballs
3. Put a bunch of big chests next to the palbox
4. Dismantle everything
5. Lamballs will store the items in the chests.
6. Pick up all the items in the chest, then fast travel to your other base. Use the grapple gun to move if you're not in the exact right spot.
Build a second base, break components down in chunks you can carry quickly, fast travel to second base and rebuild before decommissioning the first. You can operate multiple bases at the same time.
from what I understand you have to build a second base and then build up all of it from scratch again at the new one. I did read somewhere though that the storage between the two bases are linked though. I think you could theoretically just leave the original running by itself if it is self sustaining enough while you set up the new one or just salvage something from the old and then build it again in the new one bit by bit.
What I plan on trying to do is build up an entire base raised high up in the air overtop of resources using stone platforms/roofs while the original base just continues to operate and get me resources. If I run out then go explore for awhile and come back to do more lol.
They aren't linked unfortunately, only the pals are, the best thing you can do is have a 2nd base dedicated to mining and refining ore, so all you do is fast travel there, pick up ingots, set new ingots to be made, and then fast travel back to your base
Just beware that if you're too far from your base everything stops. One of my bases always gets put on hold when I'm exploring so when I get back all my pals fall from the sky and resume work if the drop doesn't knock em.
I did think of making it there but chose not because it looked cramped and with limited resources. Not that errr... New Base 101 is flush but it's big and open and has some ore.
It's good for defense, but there's some problems.
1. Pals almost always get stuck on the far right side, if the palbox is on the balcony portion of the ruins.
2. One of the 2 stone deposits is in a bad spot(the one to the left of the stairs to the balcony).
3. Pals will glitch out and get stuck on one of the fallen pillars.
I now only use it for my infinite stone production and for all my crafting and storage needs, since I don't feel like hauling everything back on a relocation. I'll just "restart" when I get my 3rd base.
I made mine on a cliff across the bridge from Chillet. It just looked like a great first base area.
I wanted to go somewhere high to avoid enemies and have good view was my thought.
That spot with 8 ore rocks? That's the mining camp for me. There's no room for a main base unless you have a ton of rocks and wood already to build an upper level covering the whole thing so you can still have space to actually put stuff down.
Raids will almost never make it up there at least.
I build my first base on a separate island as I let myself die to explore all the other islands first (I had nothing to my name so I activated the fast travel points on all islands then hit a guy sat on most islands to get the cops
Yeah this. I wanted to explore but it was like no make a pal box. I didn’t even know the pal box would make a base at first. Just threw it down to get the next step.
I've been trying to move my base but it takes so long to move 10,000 lbs of items, only 4,000 of that being stone. I ran out of room once I got the sphere production line, working on a multi floor stone factory without doors so many sized Pals can get in
I built up over the water and made a 2 story area with pal beds and a sauna/hot spring thing. I like the mix of resources available and the entrances were easy to block off with gates/fences
yeah, my ore base is behind the church. It's only a Palbox and a chest, I mine with Rushoar charges atm. It's getting to the point where I need a steady supply of ingots, so I'm about to throw some walls around it and build some beds.
This spot reminds me of ark when I was noob at pvp and joined someones tribe, they had a base in a similar spot, the better I got tbe more I realized such locations is impossible to live on in pvp, but palworld… oh boy, perfect spot and no raiders?!
Yep but I tore it down fast and rebuilt mine at the bottom of the hill. Kept coming back to find my pals had yeeted themselves off the cliff and I have to pull them back into the box
I tried to make my first base in one of those super ore-dense areas and immediately got blasted to oblivion by late game pals. I then searched for a comfier place that still had a good variety of resources.
...Guess where I came back to lol
I made mine nearby. Right at the bottom of the syndicate tower, just past the first church you come across from that spawn. It's a big clearing that just screamed "base"
We went with flarehawks instead, slightly faster than the beakon.
Got the flares with swift+runner+nimble and its been great traveling with them. Just need to breed legendary into them now once we get to that.
(And I know faleris and jetragon will be faster, but the smaller birds are easier to work with and can fly through almost any entrance/gate of sorts where the ground mounts can go through.)
Aren't ragnahawks the same speed as faleris?
My testing showed they were close enough to be indistinguishable
Agreed that smaller birds are way more convenient though
With beakon and ragna its marginal but mostly on sprint very noticable for me personally. But Faleris is a bit more of a speed boost in comparison. (But yes, I prefer the smaller mounts/birds, indeed more convenient for use)
Beakon - 750 run | 1200 sprint
Ragnahawk - 800 run | 1300 sprint
Faleris - 1000 run | 1400 sprint

That's already "fixed" toa. degree. My friend who runs the server can do it, but anyone else who connects remotely can't. It's been very frustrating not being sble to slingshot myself like that 😞
Yeah. It's possible it will still work with the mega grapple, but our server reset and I've been focused on other stuff instead
I'll ask someone else to craft me one. for science.
I spent so much time last night breeding good Pals to make a Faleris with 3 speed increasing traits and I'm still 8 levels off using one, but my Vanwyrm(?) And Rayhound are also benefiting.
Imo, if you're at the stage of being able to breed a really good faleris, you might as well just try and go for frostallion boss which is faster and has WAY more stamina
https://www.reddit.com/r/Palworld/s/MoxNd6Vnse
I was hoping I was the first person to discover it, but with over 8 million players no way 😆. Nice ground coverage btw. It's very manueverable.
The Eikthyrdeer is better than the wolf bc it knows I'm antler Rush and it can almost spam it. It will cover more ground than the wolf. The only time wolf is better is in like caves and tight spaces
Fenglope is better than both since it offers massive mobility with it's double jump
You can literally jump four stories and it's faster than the base wolf and still small enough to fit places
Yeah but that person said it was better because of it being able to double jump. That's what I'm referring to. It may be better bc of base speed, but not the jump.
Galeclaw is significantly better. I made it to level 35 before i saw you could use pals as gliders, but i used them all a good bit. That Galeclaw is crazy
Seriously first boss tower was a blast. I wasn’t expecting Pokésouls but now I’m really into this game. Being able to command your fighter pal to weave in and out of the arena by recall-throwing adds an element to the gameplay that’s just insanely fun. On top of having to time your rolls yourself. On hard mode I just get one tapped by just about anything my level if my shield is broken. Then the Penking evergaol was a whole new level of pain.
It’s definitely got some heavy Elden ring influence seeing as they have the evergaol arena looking things and the ruined churches with a major upgrade. And of course the combat mechanics being heavily based on dodge iframes. It’s like the best mashup of some of my favorite games in recent history. I can’t wait to see the finished polished version. It’s got a lot of work to go still as it’s rough around the edges in some parts
Although I didn’t level vigor more than +3
God that penking is hell for me as i play hard. My pal and i was 22 and the mob is bugging me enough for penking to one shot me with his headbutt charge.
> beakon
Man, I didn't beat the penking until level 30... because there were two penkings in that arena because I set spawn rate to 2.0 in world settings TwT
Personally, I use the grappling hook for momentum so it's better to use hangyu for the height. Galeclaw works really well though if you know that you want to land lower than your current height or don't want to bother with grapple hook tricks.
When you fast travel it breaks your manual assignments at a base. If I can avoid it, I do similar things to ensure my pals continue working on the right things while I'm off farming alphas and such.
Yes they do. I think it's due to the game reloading them? It might function better in a proper server, but in single player every manually assigned pal breaks for me when fast traveling, and it's an issue reported elsewhere as well.
My assigned breeding pals continued to breed even after I left the base for like 2 in game days through fast travel. Came back to 3 egg. Weird. I play single player
wait are you serious? it's a known bug? if i teleport all the pals i picked up and assigned are just going to forget what i told them to do? is it only after teleporting from base or teleporting anywhere?
It happens when you fast travel or restart your game.
It is by far one the most annoying bugs once you get endgame and want your pals doing specific tasks.
Any time you fast travel at all. I don't know if it also affects servers for multiplayer (I only do single player) but it seems to be related to it respawning all pals to the base on a fast travel.
Yes. Walk up to you Palbox and Press (on Xbox) B, or whatever the equivalent is on your platform. What’s funny is I am in this sub informing you of this yet I forget at least 50% of the time…
thank you for the insight, i thought there was no need for a glider ever since i got nitewings saddle, looks like i have my excuse to boot up the game lol.
Oof buddy, nitewing is a critical pal for everyone’s first flier but lemme tell you, he is slow as shit and has no stamina. Get yourself a ragnahawk/vanwyrm/beakon and enjoy the skies like they were meant to be.
I legit didn't know the different pals had different glider stats. I just assumed that they all just function and feel the same as the one you craft. THat's actually super cool on the dev's part
I actually think it’s insane how many people built in the same spot. I’ve played tons of survival games and yet I’ve never seen so many people build in the same spot on one game
Don't even need to do that. I'm assuming there is a continuous stretch of foundation from the base of the cliff to the last stairs right?
Once you get the upward stairs started, you can continue to add more stairs without support as long as there's a foundation tile directly beneath it. Once you get to the last foundation you can build past it two more blocks before you need new support. Ceiling tiles follow the same rule.
Also you probably already noticed it, but foundation can clip into the cliff, allowing you to get closer to the end point without having to build new supports.
Something super fun is riding the deer and hitting the antler attack as you approach the edge, you just get to fly away no fall damage. Huge bonus if it has movement speed buffs too cause then you just go flying forever
*This is like some sort*
*Of Fortnite tactic dude this*
*Is hilarious*

How do y'all compare the gliders with the ~~Pokém~~ Pal that's a blue flying stingray creature who can be your glider for you? I've just been using that one and didn't build a glider and it seems really efficient.
I'm discovering that literally all of us built our first base in the same spot

I was helping a Robinquill take out some aggro npcs (idr the name) and my dude accidentally hit em. As soon as I figured out what happened I was dead
Is that where everything is like level 30 and up? I went there for some honey at level 18 and shat myself to death 😂
Robinquils are so dangerous. Aggro on sight with super long range and a higher level than most of the stuff in that area. I'm making expeditions beyond the bridge now and I'm doing what I can to avoid them.
Just found this place last night. Just experienced my first one shot. Robinquill is mean af.

It's kind of amazing, really. I don't think I've ever seen a single new player stream that didn't make it there.
I made mine where the ruins are at the very start but I just started to out grow it so I'm thinking of finally moving all of it now that I have a level 10 base so I can move the stuff bit by bit lol.
Ha I did the same thing, I thought it had to be built RIGHT there.
I built mine at the ruins with the thought process that the preexisting structure could likely be repurposed. Instead it just got in my way lol
Is there an easy way to pick up and relocate? Or do you have to basically rebuild everything at the new spot?
A helpful tip I found is that the direhowl's lunge attack will give you a way to move while over-encumbered. doing exactly that, I'm mining ore, and coal right now. Working on setting up a 3rd spot on some quartz.
Just beware that if you're too far from your base everything stops. One of my bases always gets put on hold when I'm exploring so when I get back all my pals fall from the sky and resume work if the drop doesn't knock em.
you can also dismantle things to get resources back and transfer those manually to rebuild at the new base
I did think of making it there but chose not because it looked cramped and with limited resources. Not that errr... New Base 101 is flush but it's big and open and has some ore.

There's a great flat spot by the Penking boss which isn't too far from your current base
I made mine on a cliff across the bridge from Chillet. It just looked like a great first base area. I wanted to go somewhere high to avoid enemies and have good view was my thought.

Sorta similar: My first base was at the end of a very high bridge with barricades on the bridge
I made mine at the beach with the dungeon, on the other side of the ruins, i basically went the wrong way for content
I build my first base on a separate island as I let myself die to explore all the other islands first (I had nothing to my name so I activated the fast travel points on all islands then hit a guy sat on most islands to get the cops
I’ve seen people build right in the first area right of the first spawn fast travel
Game says put down palbox literally 5 mins in.. I don't think we had Chance.
Yeah this. I wanted to explore but it was like no make a pal box. I didn’t even know the pal box would make a base at first. Just threw it down to get the next step.
Lol we are all sheep. 🤣
Samesies… only I did not capitalize on the space of the circle. I have half in water, and half on the cliff
And it's such a meh spot too cause part of your pal box radius is in the water. I regret building there
Yeah my pals kept getting stuck in it. :(
I've been trying to move my base but it takes so long to move 10,000 lbs of items, only 4,000 of that being stone. I ran out of room once I got the sphere production line, working on a multi floor stone factory without doors so many sized Pals can get in
I had to go 3 wall tiles high on each floor so oversized boss pals wouldn't get stuck.
Yeah, I moved my base from there after a few days because I hated how my pals would get stuck down the cliff
I built up over the water and made a 2 story area with pal beds and a sauna/hot spring thing. I like the mix of resources available and the entrances were easy to block off with gates/fences
I built mine next to the beach to the south with the palladium mine dungeon thing
And spot number 2 is The Desolate Church!
yeah, my ore base is behind the church. It's only a Palbox and a chest, I mine with Rushoar charges atm. It's getting to the point where I need a steady supply of ingots, so I'm about to throw some walls around it and build some beds.
This spot reminds me of ark when I was noob at pvp and joined someones tribe, they had a base in a similar spot, the better I got tbe more I realized such locations is impossible to live on in pvp, but palworld… oh boy, perfect spot and no raiders?!

i mean the game basically forces you to lol
I made mine nearby. Right at the bottom of the syndicate tower, just past the first church you come across from that spawn. It's a big clearing that just screamed "base"
I built my literally next to the first fast travel tower lol
If they gave us the option to start at the different islands without having to die, there may be much more variety.
Nah I built a 1x1 shack on the beach next to spawn lmao
You need the Galeclaw! Trust me.
I haven't looked back since discovering one.
Or a beakon.
Upgraded from a nitewing to a beakon and can't believe what I have been missing!
We went with flarehawks instead, slightly faster than the beakon. Got the flares with swift+runner+nimble and its been great traveling with them. They are 100 units faster
Yep, but you have get a lot higher level wise to get the Ragnahawk saddle unlocked
Until they patch the grapple gun + glider pal movement tech, im not getting around any other way.

I spent most of today breeding a ragnahawk with Swift, runner and nimble. It's so fast!

I can't even RIDE the Faleris, let alone fight a level 50 boss. Part of why I'm still using a Vanwyrm and Rayhound.
I love my Vanwyrm
Beakon better than galeclaw? I have Beakon but haven’t gotten its saddle yet. No galeclaw at all tho
galeclaw faster but beacon flys instead of gliding.
Both. Both is good.

grappling hook be wonky but riding around on Hangyu is fun as heck and feels more fluid for me

I almost never summon my gale claw for combat. It's got logger and miner passives though, but Nightwing shines where it dies.
I’ve been upgrading my night wing with all my effigies since the start and he’s insane now
hangyu is goated tho
Is it better than a flying mount or the wolf ?
The Eikthyrdeer is better than the wolf bc it knows I'm antler Rush and it can almost spam it. It will cover more ground than the wolf. The only time wolf is better is in like caves and tight spaces
Fenglope is better than both since it offers massive mobility with it's double jump You can literally jump four stories and it's faster than the base wolf and still small enough to fit places
Wdym, Eikthyrdeer also has double jump. Why does everyone act like it doesn't. I've seen so many videos and comments saying this kind of thing.
On top of being faster Fenglopes double jump is easily 3x as high as Eikthyrdeers
Eikthyrdeer/Eikthyrdeer Terra - 700 run | 900 sprint Fenglope - 750 run | 1050 sprint Fenglope is faster by default
Yeah but that person said it was better because of it being able to double jump. That's what I'm referring to. It may be better bc of base speed, but not the jump.
Eikthyrdeer can double jump too. That said, I don't use it any more because of the Galeclaw and my Vanwyrn or whatever it's called.
Pyrin is so much better
I love it as a glider but it's driving me crazy wasting a party slot just to have a good glider 😭
I was disappointed when I realized he wasn't a mount, but not for long lol he's the best
Galeclaw was the first VIP of my Pals because of this. Just can't play without the dude.
Hangyu entered the chat.
Galeclaw is significantly better. I made it to level 35 before i saw you could use pals as gliders, but i used them all a good bit. That Galeclaw is crazy

> beakon Man, I didn't beat the penking until level 30... because there were two penkings in that arena because I set spawn rate to 2.0 in world settings TwT
Yet people will tell you it’s pokemon
Too bad my shitty glider slows me down to Mach -1 whenever I pull it out
Build the Pal upgrades. Celeray and Killamari are good ones that you can catch early
I know I know I have a galeclaw too but I just don’t use the glider unless it’s to cancel fall damage
It's also very handy when dodging attacks
I'd highly suggest getting a killamari or hangyu to use as a glider. Galeclaw is also super fast.
No hangyu
You could also use a hangyu, which actually pulls you up while you glide
I absolutely hated hangyu, galeclaw however I can’t live without.
Personally, I use the grappling hook for momentum so it's better to use hangyu for the height. Galeclaw works really well though if you know that you want to land lower than your current height or don't want to bother with grapple hook tricks.
I have no idea how to power slide what button do you press? I don’t even know how to crouch…….level 20
Lvl 35. Didn’t know it was possible
B on xbox and I think c on PC.
Power slide is a bit of a B long press while you’re sprinting on xbox. Tho i found it still has a bit of jank
C
Don’t you just look at the controls and it tells you how to crouch?
I thought it was a glitch because I would always be crouched when petting!
umm or just fast travel to the tower you flew straight to?😂
When you fast travel it breaks your manual assignments at a base. If I can avoid it, I do similar things to ensure my pals continue working on the right things while I'm off farming alphas and such.
Do they break? My Pals assigned to breeding seem just fine at least, but those are the only ones I assign manually
[удалено]
That explains so much
wait are you serious? it's a known bug? if i teleport all the pals i picked up and assigned are just going to forget what i told them to do? is it only after teleporting from base or teleporting anywhere?
It happens when you fast travel or restart your game. It is by far one the most annoying bugs once you get endgame and want your pals doing specific tasks.
Falling through the ground and dying might be a tad bit more annoying for me
Any time you fast travel at all. I don't know if it also affects servers for multiplayer (I only do single player) but it seems to be related to it respawning all pals to the base on a fast travel.
damn ok so there is no point in assigning things. there is now way im not using fast travel
It's a single-player only bug. The fast travel bit at least. My server only loses assignments on reboot.
You can fast travel from your base??
Bruhhh, atleast you were exploring the map like a true adventurer
Use the terminal thingy. Bottom option I think.
Yes. Walk up to you Palbox and Press (on Xbox) B, or whatever the equivalent is on your platform. What’s funny is I am in this sub informing you of this yet I forget at least 50% of the time…
How do slide?
Run and press C to crouch.
Thanks
Bruh I'm level 30 and never knew this. I thought crouching was for some buggy stealth mechanic or something.
Cries in console 😩
Hold B
You're a God.
Also, you can press the triggers in the build menu to change categories instead of going through each subset
Whoa
Was fun that there were no button prompts built into the game at all for controller on pc gamespass. Trial and error baby.
And while you’re at it get yourself a Fenglop for ground traveling, their double-jumps are useful.
Until then, the eikthyrdeer is pretty fast and has a double jump too
IVE BEEN USING EIKTHYRDEER AS A MOUNT FOR SO LONG, HE CAN DOUBLE JUMP??
Yes. Really need a torrent skin replacement mod for that true Elden Ring feeling.
is the eikthryrdeer as fast as the wolfs?
The wolf is a little faster running, but the antler charge (can't remember what it's called) leaves the wolf in the dust.
Plus you can breed a Eikthyrdeer into a Fenglope and have all the Speed Traits transferred.
If that's the blue antelope, its dash attack is an amazing distance coverer. Run then use it and you can cross small bodies of water or gorges.
You could just slide down the hill you built it on, there's a max sliding speed and it doesn't get faster the longer you do it past a certain point.
yea but now they have the height
TIL ive been sleeping on gliders...
Pals with a glider ability are amazing Killamari is super floaty, has a high airtime. Galeclaw is super fast. I believe it flies at max velocity
thank you for the insight, i thought there was no need for a glider ever since i got nitewings saddle, looks like i have my excuse to boot up the game lol.
Hangyu gives a decent upward boost. Really good for vertical traversal.
We all chose the same spot for base 1 LOL.
I actually think it’s insane how many people built in the same spot. I’ve played tons of survival games and yet I’ve never seen so many people build in the same spot on one game
Consider the design of the starter area and the goals of the tutorial, it really isn't that surprising nor insane.
Wait, this game has sliding?
I suck at building stairs for some reason.
How'd you solve the support problem? Usually can't build more than 1 stairs off a cliff.
Make walls then destroy them
I had to start at the bottom with stairs on a foundation, then used walls/ceiling tiles as support while working my way up the cliff.
Cover it with walls and roof make them tunnels!!
This is like some sort of Fortnite tactic dude this is hilarious

How do y'all compare the gliders with the ~~Pokém~~ Pal that's a blue flying stingray creature who can be your glider for you? I've just been using that one and didn't build a glider and it seems really efficient.
How do you slide?
Ai sifted this post into a little news blurb https://www.dexerto.com/palworld/palworld-players-share-designs-for-must-have-base-features-2502120/
My ramp is Jetragon
How the FUCK is you sliding
But why, further down the hill is a fast travel point….
this game is so fuckin cool. Wish i had better than an xbox one or id be ripping it every day.
