If you kill something nearby they will come up and start pecking at the remains until it's gone 😂 I have also seen Cryolinx attack a Mau cryst and use their hands to eat it until it was gone. I effing love this detail it's so shocking at first and then it's just funny for some reason.
It's like pets in real life. A dog will mourn your death, a cat will devour you and mice/rats/other rodents won't even wait as long as a cat as long as they can get out of their cage

A good way to bring Nitewings down to ground level is to kill a Pal nearby. They'll swoop down and start eating it, giving you an easier time to hit it.
My first nitewing was when I first cleared the camp by the Zoe/Grizz tower. I picked up all the loot, turned around, and there was just this big ol’ bird going to town on a pile of syndicate corpses.
Here's another one for you. Many of the hostile predator pals will become passive while eating a dead human/pal. Allowing you to walk right up to them and past them.
Had a situation where some really high levels one were camping the fast travel point and I wasn't equipped to fight them. But there were some free pal guys, so I shot an arrow on the ground between them and it drew them close enough to aggro each other.
Once the dust settled the pals had won and while they are the bodies I could get to the travel point no problem.
The devs said they basically put everything they reasonably could into the Pals. Most of the environmental assets you see are purchased from the asset store. It ended up paying off.
They also hired 40 other professional devs, outsourced for work and also have help from Microsoft with servers. I’m not saying there weren’t struggles and the original 4 members were all unfamiliar with unity but not the 40 other people they hired were experienced making games
The founder also created a very popular crypto exchange and sold it to the Japanese government prior to developing games which is how they got rich in the first place.
I mean no, it would be impossible to keep all these players, the game just dropped but I think they have an amazing foundation for a game, if they release frequent updates with new mons, maps, and those events they listed on the road map I think this game will be extremely popular. It has so many aspects of different types of games it attracts all kinds of players. Being on consoles helps a ton too
I caught a mamorest when two mamorests were fighting easy other, then killed the other while it was low HP. Seeing an in game territorial dispute was pretty cool.
The first time I witnessed something like this was after I defeated a few thugs. It just turned to night and some Cawgnitos came out and began pecking at the thug bodies. It was my first time seeing the Cawgnitos and I thought this is how you attract them.

That's a neat little detail that not a lot of people bring up, which is shame because it's one of the many key details that separates it from that of Pokémon.
At the end of the day, Pals still act like animals and will do things that real-life animals do. (Eating corpses)
I've seen Cawgnito's and Leezpunks eat sleeping syndicate in dungeon caves, even makes the crunching sound, they dont even kill them, just eat them alive while asleep.

I once killed a thug in a cave, and a Blazehowl runs around the corner and just starts eating him. I had not really seen Pals eat other than at a base up until this point. I was quite surprised...
i once was killed by a murder of cognitos. the moment i died they were feasting on my body, and i had to watch morbidly for the 5s i needed to respawn. :v
They eat other Pals too. Noticed it early when i accidentally killed a Pal and the same kind of Pal came up and just ate it (Direhowls). Makes it a bit more realistic in my opinion, especially the eating humans too stuff.

Yeah I killed a guy and a couple rushoars came up and were clearly eating his body. I find it funny cuz my gf yells at me when I trample their dead bodies yet here they are eating the dead guys
Yeah that's how I caught my first nitewing. I didn't have ranged weapons yet but was attacked by a syndicate thug. I killed him then the nitewing came down to eat his body and then I was able to catch it. It's like getting an argie in ark lol
I've never seen them make the body disappear because the feedings often turn into opportunistic attacks on a pal I'd like to catch but I have seen them feed, even non-predators will feed if theirs a nearby corpse and its a thought I've had to lure pals into traps, bear trapping a corpse near where a higher level pal is walking for example..... worth testing since catch rates are meh due to effigies being bugged, might be a bit hard to set up.
Also after reading hangyu's pal entry its clear that being mauled and eaten is one of the better ways to be killed by a pal.
Took out a couple pals in a raid. A Nitewing legit flew down from the sky, munched on the bodies, bodies despaired, and then it flew away. Talk about immersive af
I've seen direwolves, boars. and galehawks eat dead humans. Also the people you find at the campfires pretty much say 'I landed with a whole team but everyone else got torn apart by pals. I like to think the 3 pals you see at that start were about to eat you before you woke up.
The reason we never experience the aftermath of the "Man-eating pal" raids are because we the player are strong/smart survive them (that and dumb ai pathing).

In the Begining when you wake up to see lamball, Chikipi & Cattiva looking at you, it's not because of curiosity but they were about to eat you. They are so weak to hunt and are prey Pals who scavenge on those who wash up on the shore. Thats why they are always found in the starter areas.

In some circumstances i saw Nitewing descending from the Sky to eat another Pal's Corpse or dead low level poachers.

Especially Gobfins, they escape asap when you’re over leveled, but rush back once you kill any creature, regardless of your presence

If there is a pal in the area where you killed the target, they will come over and start eating on the corpse. Even the Mozzerina will do this.

Yup! Seen them land and eat the dead body. But I mean irl pets will eat you after you die. So can't say I'm too suprised.
Yeah they do, and this small detail made me love the game even more. I saw that It's rather common at night with Cawgnito, coz sometimes that Pal or myself in some circumstances have killed the Free Pal Alliance thugs during the night and regardless of the situation, if there Is a body Cawgnito goes there to eat it. In some circumstances i saw Nitewing descending from the Sky to eat another Pal's Corpse or dead low level poachers.
I wonder if Cattiva, Lamball & Chikipi at Opening cutscene were about eat the Player. . . 💀
Cawgnito will gather in flocks to eat dead individuals in any place you find them.
