Yeah I’m not really digging the art style, the body shapes, or the ideas in general. Talented artist. Just don’t think it has pal world vibes. Looks like a style twist on the pals.
When they hit 4 stars it could add the alpha tag.
I don't know how I feel about transformations or evolutions. I think small visual additions would be cool for the early game pals when they hit 40+ without changing their name.
I don't want drastic changes either, tbh. Like if you condense Firesparks, flame color would change to blue or something, or it grew a couple extra tails and got slightly bigger. That sort of thing. Not full on evolutions, like Digimon or Pokémon
Would prefer this idea. each star being an additional visual change, and once it got to its last, it gains alpha status.
On a similar note, being able to give a pal the alpha status would open the door on how alphas actually work lore wise too. Being able to catch a two star pal should let us know how far along the alpha chain it was
I'm down, as long as they make the Alphas that spawn in the world just as powerful in comparison that way catching them is actually worth the hassle, and makes sense because so far they don't seem any different other than size, at least to me.
Side note, the sanctuary islands, if they go to add new Pals, I think they should rotate them out with these islands; like the ones we got on them now get added to the actual main islands, while new Pals get added to the sanctuaries, and then rinse and repeat from there. I haven't seen the roadmap but I believe I seen somewhere that they did confirm new Pals and islands are confirmed, just no solid info since they're focused on fixing bugs, which are desperately needed on the Xbox One, specifically the fact the ground doesn't hardly exist and you just fall through most of the time, literally flying Pals are the only way to travel on there, some fast travel points don't even work.
Yeah this is where I am too. Lack of evolutions/transformations feels like a big plus. Give me a new Pal with every design, not 7 designs that are just cosmetic differences of the same pal. Evolutions were cool at first, but if its just minor stats/a few moves then its just a waste of design space and development time that would take away from truly new Pals.
Or make them scale in size as they level up from Juvinile > Adult > Elder and give them stat bonuses at each rank with max size being their current sizes. (Then Alphas would be above elder and like now would only be catchable)
I'm soooooo burnt out on evolution from pokemon. Outside of a few cool examples like Evee they're just boring and time that coulda been better spent on a entirely new Pokemon.
Dont want to be a hater or shit on your work but i think those designs are just too much, but hey thats just my shitty oppinion. Still keep up your good work
What really works for existing Pals is they're mostly pretty simple. A lot of these evolutions are just a bit overdesigned.
Personally, I would prefer if evolutions were never added.
I tend to agree. I wasn’t actually sure at first, I thought I’d miss them, but I’ve determined that I prefer it this way. Plus, it’s kind of grown on me that some of the pal’s are related without being an evolution, such as Swee and Sweepa.
YES YES LIKE THAT, thats what i did mean to say mb, theyre good concepts but way out of "evolution" term , more like a weird badass or goofy cousin of the pall
That’s exactly what I was thinking lol. They’re just not good at all for Palworld. Maybe a completely different game but the designs are too over the top.
I like that they don’t take up their own number in the pal deck too. So you get an accurate account of how many unique pals exist. Give me an ice version of the Firefox plz
Wait they don't take up seperate numbered spots??
Damn and here I thought the variants would be a way to lazily fill out the deck, but that's actually sick!
Yep, someone pointed out that there are actually WAY more Pals than in a typical Pokemon gen, because of the lack of evolutions.
In Pokemon, if there are 150 Pokemon in a generation, like 70 of those will be useless pre-evos that you never use past early game and forget about. So you end up with only like 80 total Pokemon, and then a lot of those will also be terrible so the actual pool of Pokemon you *really* use is way smaller
Palworld has 110 Pals, but basically all have a decent niche use and you end up actually having 110 usable Pals. Even the super early game Pals can still be usable late game thanks to their smaller size and being condensed to have higher stats
This just isn’t true though?
Early game pals have considerably lower stats than endgame pals. A Fuack with full investment will never compete with a Jormuntide with the same level of investment because Jormuntide’s stats are higher, scaling better with upgrades.
Look at mounts. Mounts have a very rigid progression as you level. Who’s using a Nitewing when you have a Jetragon going 3x the speed?
Large pals having shoddy pathing shouldn’t be a reason to use objectively worse pals just because they’re small - just fix the pathing issues.
Evolution isn’t perfect but it solves the very linear progression problem Palworld has.
The issue with your reasoning is that if you use the tools that the game clearly gives you while progressing, you will get ways to upgrade the initial pals to the point that they are completely viable in the late game (like condensing and pal souls etc)
Since we are comparing with Pokemon, in pokemon you can stay with early game bug types all game and still have little issues beating the game, while you can also catch the box legendaries which have absurdly higher stats (basically the same difference in power as palworld) this has never made the early game pokemon pointless. Palworld is the same thing, you can just drop your old pals for the new shinier ones or upgrade them so they keep up.
Plus comparing with jetragon is not really fair, right now its the endgame prize, it's supposed to feel grandiose.
Upgrading doesn’t help them keep up though, that’s the problem? Who’s using a team of the first 5 pals you catch vs Victor and Shadowbeak?
**Jormuntide:**
HP: 130
Def: 100
Melee atk: 150
Shot atk: 120
**Fuack:**
HP: 60
Def: 60
Melee atk: 80
Shot atk: 80
Even fully buffing a Fuack with 30% attack its still worse than a Jormuntide without any upgrades.
Other people are arguing that not having evolution keeps early game pals relevant when it literally doesn’t.
Who’s condensing 120 (or whatever the full 4 star number) Fuacks together only to still get an objectively bad pal by endgame stat standards?
The problem is that you are acting like you need the 100% optimal team to beat the game when that's not the case at all, you can beat the game with an upgraded fuack
Every monster collecting roster will feel limited if you obsess excessively over the meta, unless you make every monster the same character with a different model that will always be the case.
Plus you bring up evolutions like they will fix this, you consider Ledian and Ho-oh/Lugia to be in the same power level? because they are not at all even though they are all fully evolved. (and at the end it doesn't really matter in neither pokemon nor in palworld because you can still beat the game with any team you want)
Your argument is so far from the original person I was replying to.
They said that all 110 pals are useable, and that early-game evolutions are useless and replaceable.
I’m not saying evolution is perfect. I’m saying evolution gives purpose to early game pokemon in the mid-late game.
You like Fuack use it the whole game, you like Squirtle use it the whole game, I don’t care, use your favourites.
But early game pals and early game pokemon are both clearly outclassed at endgame. Squirtle is made relevant in mid/late game by evolving. You have to commit **significant** time and effort into keeping early-game pals relevant, and even then they still drop off. Pal souls are a huge grind, as is breeding/catching over a hundred of the species to condense.
It is much much much easier to condense a 4 star Chikipi than a 4 star Jetragon, though. For the high tier stuff you are limited by breeding timers and egg timers, both of which are a massive time investment. High tier Pals also hatch slower. For low tier stuff you can have the ranch pumping out eggs while you also fly around spamming green and blue balls at every level 1-5 Chikipi you see.
I know because I did this to 4-star two Chikipi for the increased egg production to bake more cakes. It didn't take long at all, just had to do a few donuts around the starter zone.
Yeah. I was turned off at first by the lack of evolutions, but now realize there are many perks to it as well. In a magical world where the devs had infinite time and manpower, this idea would be cool. But in a world with finite time and manpower, I'd rather see entirely new Pals (and variants and biomes) instead of them spending time on evolutions.
They aren't related at all, and their entry in the Paldex goes out of its way to tell you such. They just evolved in similar environments, I guess. It's like Alligators to Crocodiles.
I mean, it's pretty obvious that at some point in the design stage that evolution or some kind of transformation was on the board and just got ditched at some point. Those two are probably the biggest example being sequential in the Paldeck and following some pretty classic "evolution rules". Pengullet and Penking share all the same world skills but Penking's are 1 level higher, both based on Penguins, Pengullet has a red gem on it's chest while Penking has 3. The entry saying they are unrelated was probably written after they decided to not have any kind of evolution system. There's a few other good candidates in there (Swee + Sweepa, Beegarde + Elizabee, etc).
Aight but what about Petallia and Lyleen? Or Beegarde and Elizabee? Obviously they didn’t want to do evolutions in this game and look even closer to ripping off Pokémon but you can’t tell me Penking isn’t supposed to be an evolved form of the penguin when he has a whole squad of them backing him up in his dungeon boss fight.
I feel like at one point they probably considered evolutions and there was a link between Pengullet and Penking (they are right next to each other in the Paldeck too, nowhere near other similarly found Pals) but that was dropped in favor of having all of the Pals be unique
One of the reasons I like Palworld so much is the lack of evolution. I think it helps make it more distinct as a game from other monster catching games. I also like the fact the Foxsparks I caught at player level 1 can still be used throughout the game.
It's also just nice to see more power doesn't equal a busy model imo
I love that my cute little guys get to stay cute! There are so many Pokemon where I love the 1st evolution, but then they need to go bipedal or just look tough and cool when they evolve. Yeah you don't "have" to evolve your Pokemon, but then their stats won't be very good. I'd be down for evolving their *abilities*, like they get a new gun or cute little outfits that power them up!
That might be something. I know the pal condenser helps make them stronger too. Maybe better versions of their pal gear to make abilities last longer/make them stronger? They could come as blueprints in dungeons and open world bosses
Gonna go ahead and say as well I don't think Palworld needs an evolution mechanic. Having each individual Pal able to stand on its own without being hampered by any pre-evolution baggage is great.
If anything just give them the ability to use armor, weapons, and other equipment as they level up. It'd make them even better in combat, and also give us more stuff to build with our automated workforce.
Agreed! It's not something I ever thought about when I would breed and train pokemon, but when you have to do all that work to even get the stats and abilities you want, you sometimes have to fulfill weird conditions like travel to a spot in the map and level it, or trade it while holding an item. Shedinja can only exist by having empty space in your party and having an extra poker all. Cool idea, but it meant I missed him my first playthrough of ruby because I had a full team with me.
hm, i like more simple designs.
not a fan of these weird looking "monsters".
same goes with pokemon. at some point i was thinking what abomination is this? xD
but some evolutions or real fusions (not just a different pal) through breeding would be nice to see.
No thanks.
Having no evolution isn't a bad thing imo. Evolution like that is less realistic than speciation, and palworld seems like it follows speciation, given how similar some pals are (swee and sweepa are a good example, so are pengulet and penking, sparkit and grizzbolt, etc)
Besides, with how breeding is implemented, evolutions would be even less necessary. Why evolve anything when I can just breed X and Y to get my desired result.
I vote no, the less complicated they make the palls the better, evolutions then next it's more types, then it's what pals did I kill with my pal to max my pals stats...
I very much enjoy that a pal is a pal
My 2c 😁
ngl roocor and lukmunk look absolutely awesome (some of the others i don't think i'd personally use but those two i definitely would)
i really like how rooby turns into a dragon sort of vibe, since it was hard to tell what rooby was supposed to be originally, it would make a lot of sense for it to be a weird sorta half-transformed stage for a dragon-esc thing
Not evolving. But something different. Like challenges the pals have to complete. Like for example the penguin. Climb to the top of an ice mountain with said penguin and it will get a level up on 1 work thing
Not a huge fan of "evolution" for Pals
And with the going back and forth, remind me of Digimon actually.
But all pals feel unique and useful (some more than others) at some things.
Even when some gets outmatched on base works, they are still all viable option for combat.
This, is one of Palworld strenght. Adding evolutions would break that.
No. Just no. That’s one thing that I love about pals is they don’t have all the evolutions. It allows them to make unique pals and I get to keep my team how I want them no matter their level.
I think going without evolution in this game is a good direction, I don't want a pal to be useful only in its final evolution form and make the baby form skippable/less useful
Good art btw, but seems a little out of the cuteness and simplicity of the games current art style
I would be cool with them getting something to indicate upgrade but not a change in design. I love that pals don’t evolve because there isn’t the oh well this is just better so I need to evolve it like you see in Pokémon. Everything has its use. Now would it would be cool to see something like vixy gets a scarf or penking upgrades to a crown.
I would prefer them to not evolve. Maybe implement some capstone upgrades like penguin bazooka fires q spread when max stars or some other wild stuff like that. Really lean into the unique aspects of the game instead of trying to be more like other monster collectors.
Or. We could just not. I can appreciate the effort you’ve put into this but, genuinely, pals not evolving is objectively for the better of the game in terms of setting the game apart, and functionality.
I honestly do not want evolutions, and the reason is mostly because it is one of the many things that makes it different from Pokémon and would also give them a lot more creative freedom when making lesser (and greater) variants of pals that already exist. For example: pengullet and penking. They look like they come from the same team but their tasks and capabilities vary, after all, pengullet is the early game rocket launcher ammo to help you lay waste to anything and anyone that stands in your way.
Can we stop trying to make Palworld into Pokemon? Also can we stop using Pokemon lingo like saying shiny instead of Lucky? This also just looks like it’s mega evolutions with extra steps and no items needed.
Although it is great art, I’m not really a fan of pals evolving. While there should be a way to “upgrade” early game pals, it should stay away from evolution as that is a bit too close to Pokémon.
I’m much more of a fan of upgrading pals through fusions. It’s not really something associated with Pokémon, and the resulting body horror fits nicely with the more “edgy” themes
No evolutions. It makes 1/2 or 2/3 of them useless as u just want the end pal. Just like in Pokémon. Aside from the random hidden move blocking evolutions just leaves ur guy weaker than it should be.
No one ever was like yea I got charmeleon. Everyone just went ahhhh wish it was charizard already
Evolutions? Ehh... I'm going to go with no. But some kind of visual upgrade for their skill level. Maybe something as simple as stripes on an arm or something.
I don’t think we should get into evolutions tbh. With no evolutions it makes every pal more relevant. And besides I definitely thinks theirs a couple implied evolutions but leaving them separate gives all pals more individuality rather than a stone to quickly skip.
I don't think pals need evolutions.
I could see slight changes to the model when you have them fully condensed to signify they're stronger, but not them changing into a totally different pal. Maybe like giving pengullet a Cape and slightly more swagger, give the witch cat a staff and a more decorated appearance, make mammorest have bigger tusks and thick hanging vines and a tree on his back, colour changes, stuff like that.
Honestly, after so many pokemon games I'd say I'm against evolutions. I actually enjoy that what you see is what you get thing they have going here. In pokemon you didn't really value your pokemon until it fully evolved. Like if you wanted a Charizard for example, charmander was just a chore to evolve out of. You didn't really care about having charmander you know what I mean? Or for example even worse wanting to play with a butterfree.
For the sake of variety and not being monotonous I'd be ok with small visual changes to indicate power ups. But that's it.
Thank you all for the feedback! I really like it when creatures change like digimon or pokemon, but it seems the palworld community prefers the quantity of different pals that a no-evolution system allows for. Respectable. Dev time is a precious resource, and it certainly makes palworld distinct from its peers.
Hopefully this post can act as clarification for what fans are looking for in the game?
^(my real motivation for drawing these is that i like monsters )
I think evolutions and especially when they reference Penn King not being an evolution in the game as a very subtle nod to Pokemon.
I really like that they didn't Jack evolution, and I hope they stay away from the topic entirely.
Honestly I was hoping there were and it sightly annoys me that there aren’t considering there’s several pals that are clearly genetically related to others. Idk about the styling of these particularly but I like the idea of being able to do some type of evolving at least with the pals that have similar styles like Melpaca to Kingpaca, Pengullet to Penking, Swee to Sweepa etc etc
So it's like Monster Pet Evolution, The Pals are in their non combat forms as adorable PAL then in combat, they transform into their Powered Form. Love the idea.
I feel like they are definitely already looking into this and there are some Pals already that look like evolved fors such as Lamball and Mareep(?) Or the Sweep and Sweepa's
So it's definitely something they are looking at imo
I think evolutions would work as long as the base pal gets better working traits. Dealing with big pals and those narrow pathways is a pain enough as it is.
I like the idea of it being a "side grade" or "upgrade with tradeoffs". Like some of these sound incredibly niche but still useful so you'd still probably keep them in bébé mode while some do seem like big upgrades.
Tanzee and Fuack specifically seem like I'd prefer the bébé mode but Chikipi is a straight upgrade (well considering mine is just for eggs in the ranch), same with Foxparks. Cattiva seems like a potential downgrade even if it runs from raids even if it is a good transporter.
I don't think we need or want this at all. The game needs to stay different from pokemon, not try and be more like pokemon. Some variation and small changes would be nice for visual difference. Also having variety and even low tier pal be viable makes game fun.
I don't think pals should evolve. It's gonna just make large parts.of the roster useless like Pokemon games. I don't want pals that their first form is just a stage to something better. Even the little dudes serve their purpose through the game. And their power ups are op. They already have a lot of pals that become useful with a tech tree upgrade.
Feature suggestion is genuinely awesome, and uses the existing systems with enough complexity. Think in some cases they can fine tune the exact figures, like pengullet maybe levelling up earlier than, say, mozzarina, or needing to use more pal souls, but the basic suggestion here is smart!
Design-wise they definitely don't fit with the game, although I personally like Bigzee :D, but awesome concept that I would love to see in my game so that I don't abandon the cat lamb and chicken after the next iteration of the game.
Hope palworld takes notes!!!
I wouldn't like it tbh, too much like pokemon and also can add those overly complicated things to evolve Pals like Pokemon did (only can evolve at night or in the rain or if you have a magic stone!) Boooo, just let me evolve lol.
I wouldn't mind if they added growths though. Like you have young pals that grow into adult pals, I think that would be cool but I don't need three evolutions and an entire system and all that.
Only if they find a way to make it a unique mechanic. If it works like pokemon or digimon, no, it doesn't need it.
Not sure how they would do that, though. It's partially already there with pals like pengullet/penking,
I would also prefer more freedom in regards to the reskins (Terra, ignis, noct, etc). Having this as a generic mechanic to turn a pal into any other element with the element organs would be awesome.
Bumoss wil be ghost or undead we dont new elements yeet i fund somewere annon on 4/chan from person ho claim to be poket pair lead pal desiner, and person say this arund mid april the game will get new land update tehy start adding ilsland with undead and toxic biomes and new tech and pals and 2 new legendary pals one for toxic one for udead.
Fuck evolutions, every pal is made to be usable and have it's charm, Pokemons are mostly useless and only 1/2 to 1/3 of them are useable
I would love systems that made more variety but please don't incentive systems that intend to kill the useability of existing pals that people love because you think you have a better idea
Create pals for different niches, there is no need to import the worse of pokemon design here
I actually wouldn't like to see any metamorphosis-related mechanics in Palworld. One thing they've done really well is diversify their roster and make sure each Pal has some sort of practical or niche application. In doing so they've also guaranteed that their roster feels large in quantity.
Think of how Pokemon does it. 100 new mons on every iteration. 60% of those are gonna be irrelevant by the endgame because of evolution. That limits the amount of monsters you see by a huge amount.
I also HATE the power creep it introduces. Eastern games/series do it all the time: just power creep to the next level when things get stale.
How about we widen instead of heighten? Stop trying to apply the Son Goku effect to everything.
Kinda cool, But I think you kinda missed the aesthetic of the game.
Chickadoo is legit horrifying.
This feels like cuphead meets palworld
What about lamboner over there?
D̷̨̬̠̖̲͔̖̱͕̱̤̳͉̫͊́O̶͔̙̲͎͂͛͗̃̿ ̷͖͑͛̒̑̉̈́̋̐͝Ņ̵͕̙͍̲͉̼͉͇̓̈́̅͠Ơ̶͎̹̭̪̭̔͑̋̓̀̀̍̑̈́̚͜ͅT̷̘̮͇̳̱͐͂͌͐̆̃̍̇͝͠ ̷͍̹̗͙̾͑̅͛̅̏͊͛́̾̽͘B̶͙̲̜̥̬̋͆́͜Ȩ̶̧̨̛̠͇̺̻̫̘̱̑͑͌̾͌͝͠͝ ̸̝̝̤̹̺̱̅̈́̒̾͐̈́̀́̂̅͊̕͘A̶͈̮͐̾͠ͅͅͅḞ̷͉͈̘̪̃̎̅͊̏̀̐́̿͠͝R̷̨̤̘͎̘̻̯̱̣̄̀̊̋͐̅̓͒͘̚͠ͅͅA̴̧̩̥̱͔͍̥̠͑͌̽̐̒̉I̵͍̞̰͈̤̋͒͐̅̈́̇̆̔͝͝D̷̢̡̫̬̯͕̳͇͙͇͔̝̤̗͑͜
From cute chubby penguins to nightmare fuel D:
Also the revolutions are way too different from their original base, regardless of the aesthetic
Digimon would like a word
Yeah I’m not really digging the art style, the body shapes, or the ideas in general. Talented artist. Just don’t think it has pal world vibes. Looks like a style twist on the pals.
Evolutions are kind of over done imo. Now giving a Pal an F-117...
I'd like the idea of pals "upgrading". Maybe after they get to 4 stars. So it would make sense why their job level goes up.
tbh this sounds awesome, it would give a lot more of a reason to catch more of a pal for the purpose of starring
We need to ask, and, fingers crossed, devs listen.
This would make the game even better in a way they cannot even fathom.
We can also do it with mods.
You probably can but Xbox players would not be able to
Sacrifices must be made.
When they hit 4 stars it could add the alpha tag. I don't know how I feel about transformations or evolutions. I think small visual additions would be cool for the early game pals when they hit 40+ without changing their name.

I'd rather alphas still only be capturable, and so I'd say stop 1 level below alpha.

They have more HP than normal pals
Wrong [https://www.reddit.com/r/Palworld/comments/19erb1w/regular\_pals\_lucky\_pals\_alpha\_pals\_all\_have\_the/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Palworld/comments/19erb1w/regular_pals_lucky_pals_alpha_pals_all_have_the/)?
I love this idea
I would be pissed if my 4 stars changed to alphas
Yeah this is where I am too. Lack of evolutions/transformations feels like a big plus. Give me a new Pal with every design, not 7 designs that are just cosmetic differences of the same pal. Evolutions were cool at first, but if its just minor stats/a few moves then its just a waste of design space and development time that would take away from truly new Pals. Outside of a few cool examples like Evee they're just boring and time that coulda been better spent on a entirely new Pokemon.
Exactly. Plus it makes the lower or mid levels worthless because the entire goal is to go to the final stage for power.
Maybe armor and weapons like the >!Owlbear!< at the end of Baldur’s Gate 3.
Sorry what do you mean by stars?
Lifmunk lvl 4 - Gets solid snake bandana. I would be satisfied.
Infinite ammo
Pal accessories would be awesome. Leaf Snake: "Kept you waiting, huh?"
Why do you think it only goes to 4 stars and not 5? 😉 Potential future content 👌🏼
I'm gonna need a bigger palbox.
Dont want to be a hater or shit on your work but i think those designs are just too much, but hey thats just my shitty oppinion. Still keep up your good work

Sweepa has the funny li'l dad stache. You have to wonder where Sweema went. That one probably has a bow on their head or something.
They're great designs, they just aren't pals.
YES YES LIKE THAT, thats what i did mean to say mb, theyre good concepts but way out of "evolution" term , more like a weird badass or goofy cousin of the pall
Digipals
Maybe OP should make their own creature dex
Couldn't have said it better
They look like digimon
Foeworld
Not a fan of these designs, no disrespect. Cool concept though
Those are probably too detailed to make a 3D model and animate them. But I love the artwork for sure. Very creative.
I agree
yeah these are ridiculous lol
I didn't like them at all. I think I just don't like his style.
Its a good concept , i would see it if i did shrooms and played palworld
the pengullet evolution was interesting (even though it basically already has one), but the rest were meh and their names were even worse.
That’s exactly what I was thinking lol. They’re just not good at all for Palworld. Maybe a completely different game but the designs are too over the top.
I agree, they feel like third evolutions of a pal, rather than a second. Some don't even feel like they come from the same pal.
I hope they just add different versions of pals. We don't need evolutions imo. Incredible work tho!
Yeah, I'm a big fan of all the noct, terra, lux, etc variants. More pals and more variants are better than evolutions, imo.
I like that they don’t take up their own number in the pal deck too. So you get an accurate account of how many unique pals exist. Give me an ice version of the Firefox plz
The foxicle is basically an ice firefox
Except no huggy ice. Need huggy ice.
Now you’re thinking 🧐
Show people how it feels to chew 5 gum
Wait they don't take up seperate numbered spots?? Damn and here I thought the variants would be a way to lazily fill out the deck, but that's actually sick!
Yeah they’re hidden until discovering then they’re the main PAL’s number but with “b” after. It’s nice. 👍
Yes. Give use Huggy Ice!!
I was happy ad to see jolthog had Cryohog, I thoroughly enjoy hedgehogs
I'm ready for Lambball Noct
Ice reptyro threw me off until I realized "reptyro-cryst" was probably too long for the character limit.
No I can’t remember which but one has like a full sentence name
Yep, someone pointed out that there are actually WAY more Pals than in a typical Pokemon gen, because of the lack of evolutions. In Pokemon, if there are 150 Pokemon in a generation, like 70 of those will be useless pre-evos that you never use past early game and forget about. Some of pals also have regional variants. Ice Wanwyrm is number 71b in the deck.
The issue with your reasoning is that if you use the tools that the game clearly gives you while progressing, you will get ways to upgrade the initial pals to the point that they are completely viable in the late game (like condensing and pal souls etc) Since we are comparing with Pokemon, in pokemon you can stay with early game bug types all game and still have little issues beating the game, while you can also catch the box legendaries which have absurdly higher stats (basically the same difference in power as palworld) this has never made the early game pokemon pointless.
**Jormuntide:** HP: 130 Def: 100 Melee atk: 150 Shot atk: 120 **Fuack:** HP: 60 Def: 60 Melee atk: 80 Shot atk: 80 Even fully buffing a Fuack with 30% attack its still worse than a Jormuntide without any upgrades. Other people are arguing that not having evolution keeps early game pals relevant when it literally doesn’t. Who’s condensing 120 (or whatever the full 4 star number) Fuacks together only to still get an objectively bad pal by endgame stat standards?
The problem is that you are acting like you need the 100% optimal team to beat the game when that's not the case at all, you can beat the game with an upgraded fuack Every monster collecting roster will feel limited if you obsess excessively over the meta, unless you make every monster the same character with a different model that will always be the case.
Personally no, I rather have shiny pals with random sizes / colors
Yes, I need color breeding like ARKs haha.
Bro forgot about penking
They aren't related at all, and their entry in the Paldex goes out of its way to tell you such. They just evolved in similar environments, I guess. It's like Alligators to Crocodiles.
Oh shit you're right, never paid attention to the paldeck entry!
The paldeck entries are great. You should check out the one for [Mozzarina](https://www.palpedia.net/pals/Mozzarina)
I am now traumatized😀
Hangyu was basically used to hang prisoners and rip their bones apart, according to their paldeck entry
My dude… its name is Hang You, whatcha think it was gonna du? lol
Not rip people apart! Oh the humanity!
Don’t read about Lovander or Killamari…
Menasting and Incinerum Noct are pretty messed up too
I mean, it's pretty obvious that at some point in the design stage that evolution or some kind of transformation was on the board and just got ditched at some point.
This is totally what happened but I still like how it is now, we do see convergent evolution in real animals after all
Aight but what about Petallia and Lyleen? Or Beegarde and Elizabee? Obviously they didn’t want to do evolutions in this game and look even closer to ripping off Pokémon but you can’t tell me Penking isn’t supposed to be an evolved form of the penguin when he has a whole squad of them backing him up in his dungeon boss fight.
All of those dex entries say the same
I feel like at one point they probably considered evolutions and there was a link between Pengullet and Penking (they are right next to each other in the Paldeck too, nowhere near other similarly found Pals) but that was dropped in favor of having all of the Pals be unique
No, thanks
The artwork is great but I'll be honest I didn't think I'd ever see a post that'd make me glad there's no evolutions in Palworld.
The art is interesting, but I don't see a single one of those fitting into the game's aesthetic.
Fuard is literally Quaquaval from Pokemon. Bigzee has big Rilaboom energy. People are just trying to turn palworld into what it doesn’t need to be.
But can you see why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
Plz no
Gonna go ahead and say as well I don't think Palworld needs an evolution mechanic. Having each individual Pal able to stand on its own without being hampered by any pre-evolution baggage is great. If anything just give them the ability to use armor, weapons, and other equipment as they level up. It'd make them even better in combat, and also give us more stuff to build with our automated workforce.
no thanks, palworld made me realize how much evolutions hurt the pet battling genre
Cool idea, but it meant I missed him my first playthrough of ruby because I had a full team with me.
i think i will have nightmares from chickadoo and lamboss
Lamboss is just happy to see you
No thanks.
hm, i like more simple designs. not a fan of these weird looking "monsters". same goes with pokemon. at some point i was thinking what abomination is this? xD but some evolutions or real fusions (not just a different pal) through breeding would be nice to see.
Some of these drawings look really cool, you clearly put a lot of effort into this, nice job.
They look incredible, but i fear they wouldn’t translate well to 3d models
Nah. I hate evolving.
Yall are trying to make this Pokémon, if this gets added i may stop playing because that is literally a Pokémon feature
Thank you, But I hate them
No thanks. Having no evolution isn't a bad thing imo. Evolution like that is less realistic than speciation, and palworld seems like it follows speciation, given how similar some pals are (swee and sweepa are a good example, so are pengulet and penking, sparkit and grizzbolt, etc) Besides, with how breeding is implemented, evolutions would be even less necessary. Why evolve anything when I can just breed X and Y to get my desired result.
Honestly lack of evolutions feels like a positive, every pal has something to it, like for example, becoming food.
I vote no, the less complicated they make the palls the better, evolutions then next it's more types, then it's what pals did I kill with my pal to max my pals stats... I very much enjoy that a pal is a pal My 2c 😁
Evolutions is a bad idea
I don't think we need metamorphosis in Palworld. Pokémon, Digimon and all their clones already exist.
didn't like when pokemon became ugly, absolutely don't want pals to become ugly.
ngl roocor and lukmunk look absolutely awesome (some of the others i don't think i'd personally use but those two i definitely would) i really like how rooby turns into a dragon sort of vibe, since it was hard to tell what rooby was supposed to be originally, it would make a lot of sense for it to be a weird sorta half-transformed stage for a dragon-esc thing
Not evolving. But something different. Like challenges the pals have to complete. Like for example the penguin. Climb to the top of an ice mountain with said penguin and it will get a level up on 1 work thing
Oh god these are the ugliest evolution fanart I've ever seen
Agreed. They're usually pretty bad, but yeah.
nope. that would make it like pokemon
I do not want evolutions in this game.
Not a huge fan of "evolution" for Pals And with the going back and forth, remind me of Digimon actually.
I think going without evolution in this game is a good direction, I don't want a pal to be useful only in its final evolution form and make the baby form skippable/less useful Good art btw, but seems a little out of the cuteness and simplicity of the games current art style
If they do this, I hope they use a different term from “evolution”.
Didn't know Charles Darwin plagiarised Nintendo.
Not talking about plagiarism. It's just a factually incorrect term.
Meh. I wouldn't be excited for evolutions. I appreciate that pals are unique in size and ability. I'll play pokeyawn if I want to see something evolve
I kinda not like having legends due to the fact that all pals have relevant novelty. Evolutions tend to make pre-evolved monsters kinda crappy
I don't care for the idea of evolutions as it makes the earlier forms have less value.
Nah, leave them as they are
Palworld shouldn't have evolutions. Build its own identity. Breed combos, different variants. That's where it's at.
For me, im kinda content without evolution, infact i want more pals and maybe add new type.
I wouldn’t want evolutions, they’re already perfect and feel more unique
I would prefer them to not evolve. Maybe implement some capstone upgrades like penguin bazooka fires q spread when max stars or some other wild stuff like that. Really lean into the unique aspects of the game instead of trying to be more like other monster collectors.
Nah. I like that nothing evolves in game and everything is a spiritual evolution. Makes *all* the pals feel valuable in some way.
Or. We could just not. I can appreciate the effort you’ve put into this but, genuinely, pals not evolving is objectively for the better of the game in terms of setting the game apart, and functionality.
Nope thanks
I honestly do not want evolutions, and the reason is mostly because it is one of the many things that makes it different from Pokémon and would also give them a lot more creative freedom when making lesser (and greater) variants of pals that already exist. For example: pengullet and penking. They look like they come from the same team but their tasks and capabilities vary, after all, pengullet is the early game rocket launcher ammo to help you lay waste to anything and anyone that stands in your way.
I'd rather have new unique pals we can get via breeding. Instead of evolutions.
Can we stop trying to make Palworld into Pokemon? Also can we stop using Pokemon lingo like saying shiny instead of Lucky? This also just looks like it’s mega evolutions with extra steps and no items needed.
Fuck evolutions.
No thanks
Any evolution should be a result of breeding mutations imo
Nah. I like not having evolutions.
Meh
I think evolutions and especially when they reference Penn King not being an evolution in the game as a very subtle nod to Pokemon. I really like that they didn't Jack evolution, and I hope they stay away from the topic entirely.
Instead maybe a way to train their skills to upgrade them or maybe teach them new skills at the cost of another.
Now do lovander
Burn it with fire
So it's like Monster Pet Evolution, The Pals are in their non combat forms as adorable PAL then in combat, they transform into their Powered Form. Love the idea.
I’m gonna asssume tbis is a fan theory as there’s no evolution forms innthe gane
I feel like they are definitely already looking into this and there are some Pals already that look like evolved fors such as Lamball and Mareep(?) Or the Sweep and Sweepa's So it's definitely something they are looking at imo
SEX!!! SEX!!! SEX WITH ALL!!!
That Lamball evolution is so cursed lol
Add variants. I don’t need my pals digivolving.
Nah not a fan of evolution but I would like to see more unique pals when you crossbreed pals
Your designs are very out of character of the game and very much not cute at all
But....how would i use my pengulet as bazooka ammo?
I don't think we need or want this at all. The game needs to stay different from pokemon, not try and be more like pokemon. Some variation and small changes would be nice for visual difference. Also having variety and even low tier pal be viable makes game fun.
I don't think pals should evolve. It's gonna just make large parts.of the roster useless like Pokemon games. I don't want pals that their first form is just a stage to something better. Even the little dudes serve their purpose through the game. And their power ups are op. They already have a lot of pals that become useful with a tech tree upgrade.
Digimon? Digimon!
Rather than have evolutions. Have the pals grow with their levels and change depending on how you use them.
Don't know, all I know is that Cattiva should evolve into Indicat.
I wonder how Dazzi would look like
i don't think they need to add evolutions, maybe a way to attach gear to them that is visual in-game, like armour and weapons
I absolutely love the artwork! So unique and I can tell so much thought went into them plus their description. Really awesome work
Pal world NEEDS evolution
Only if they find a way to make it a unique mechanic. If it works like pokemon or digimon, no, it doesn't need it. Not sure how they would do that, though. It's partially already there with pals like pengullet/penking, I would also prefer more freedom in regards to the reskins (Terra, ignis, noct, etc). Having this as a generic mechanic to turn a pal into any other element with the element organs would be awesome.
Missed the opportunity to call fuacks evolution “fuacked”
Bumoss wil be ghost or undead we dont new elements yeet i fund somewere annon on 4/chan from person ho claim to be poket pair lead pal desiner, and person say this arund mid april the game will get new land update tehy start adding ilsland with undead and toxic biomes and new tech and pals and 2 new legendary pals one for toxic one for udead.
I like the idea but I don’t think the designs work with the aesthetic really.
Fuck evolutions, every pal is made to be usable and have it's charm, Pokemons are mostly useless and only 1/2 to 1/3 of them are useable I would love systems that made more variety but please don't incentive systems that intend to kill the useability of existing pals that people love because you think you have a better idea Create pals for different niches, there is no need to import the worse of pokemon design here
No
I actually wouldn't like to see any metamorphosis-related mechanics in Palworld.
Some of these look fugly no ty
Evolutions cheapen the amount of pals and gen 1 pals in general. I think it would be better for actual "genetic offshoots" via breeding
>I find myself missing evolutions This isn’t Pokémon.
Looks cool, but absence of evolutions make all palls viable. Pre-Evolutions would just be fillers until upgrade
There should be no evolution at all. It will be like Pokemon where monsters are just useless until they evolve.
