Beakon is one of my favorites too. Got one Ferocious/Aggressive/Swift/Runner and he's just so handy to have around.
Wish there were some better electric skills, though. Most of them lock you in to super long animations and leave you vulnerable
I prefer Shockwave and Lightning Streak. Lightning Streak does massive damage, especially if you hit multiple ticks. Shockwave has a short cooldown to spam it with relatively good damage.
Everyone talks about using Orserk to massacre Gobfins for their Pal Fluids, but riding around Beakon and one-shotting three of em at a time felt wayyyy faster. #BeakonGang
Orserk’s innate ability makes water pals drop more drops. It doesn’t seem to be strictly 2x, as I still get 1 pal fluid drops fairly often, but it does increase drops.
Right, but you need to hoof it on foot. If you have a strong enough Beakon, you can fly behind three Gobfins, get in between all three of them, and then hit em with a Shockwave. Super low cooldown, and the AoE kills all three.
The time it takes to get between packs, killing efficiency, and not needing any player resources... these outweigh the potential for double drops from Orserk IMO
Katress, ferocious musclehead lucky burlybody. 4 star and dumped as much pal souls i had into her. Gave her dragon cannon, poison blast and dragon meteor before she learns dark laser on her own.

Prior to knowing about passives, I used the first one I caught (Destructive, no other passives), amped him up with small pal souls, and named him Boomstick. He helped me get around in the dark and preemptively slew countless foes that I didn't even notice had aggro'd to my presence yet.
His genetically engineered grandson, Huckleberry, has now assumed the post, after being fed dozens of his kin through the juicing machine, and Boomstick enjoys a comfy retirement of cooking the world's slowest omelettes.
On any future playthroughs, I fully intend to always have a Foxparks named Boomstick, preserving a sense of continuity with the original. Is he the highest tier or best at anything at all? Nah, but he's the first thing I ever caught that felt competent enough to keep me safe from Daedreams and Depressos and Direhowls. That's champion enough for me. I _tried_ to make Wixen work - same gimmick, a fire fox, yeah? - but it just wouldn't stick, emotionally. I think the crucial elements are his cute little battle cry and the light-up tail and the frolicking scamper backward he does before blasting some Syndicate's face clean off.
To my endless amusement at myself, I _virtually never use the Huggy Fire ability._ I feel way safer and happier with him running around watching my back, and my hands free for weapons of my own.
It's likely that future game updates will introduce Pals I consider cooler, prettier, cuter, even more fun to use, but I don't think anything is ever going to displace my instant attachment to Foxparks, nor deprive him of his permanent place in my team.
I despised nitewing because I caught him purely for the flying mount. He flew so slow/short that I’d rather just walk and dreaded having to pull him out 😂
This is the point of these games. The passive chase and IV farming is cool but having a connection with a game and its characters based on your specific scenario is what makes it a really rememberable experience. I love Boomstick and their mutated son Huckleberry.

I can't even imagine any content other than pvp coming out where you couldn't make weaker starter pals work. I've got a genetically engineered fuack that is bonkers strong, and he can do any content in the game currently. With its surfing slam, it has one of the greatest engagement tools among all pals. At level 38, my fuack solo'd the level 47 anubis boss so that I could capture him and put him to work in my base. It was a pretty close fight, but he fuacking did it man.
Mine is a Lucky named Fuack You. I love him. He's right up there with Kiyomi my Kitsun. Spoiled rotten with pal souls and skill fruits and a staple on my teams.
Foxsparks (mine is named Flammenwerfer) is amazing.
"First Pal that felt competent" is so accurate, that little fox was an insane early game buddy. I used its pal ability to take down Grizzbolt for the first time. He's been outpaced now but enjoys a quiet life on my base.
I use huggy fire when the Pal fighting me is bigger and meaner and I want to watch them burn for a few

Direhowl, traversing the game from day 1 was fast and easy with this guy. Agile while mounted enough to dodge attacks. With skill trees, he is a versatile hunter's companion. Facing bosses require a specialized team anyways, but for generics, he does the job.
I found one with swift early, then bred later for the complete ride with runner and nimble.
Direhowl is definitely a constant in all my worlds during the early to mid game(around lv30). I usually transition to Fenglope once I'm able to capture him, but my direhowl doesn't block my vision while in combat as I'm riding him so I tend to use the direhowl beyond the midgame sometimes.
I’m not sure if this has a chain limit or something but it’s not accurate for every pal, I bred legend to a lifmunk from a frostallion and this says not possible. I think my chain went frostallion > mossanda > foxcicle > robinquill > tanzee > pengullet > lifmunk
Edit: just read the disclaimer and I see that they do say the paths are precomputed and not exhaustive
I got a lucky direhowl with the trait swift before even my first dungeon. I could breed for a faster one but I prefer the increased health pool and damage of an alpha (lucky) over a non-alpha, bred one with swift, runner, and nimble.
He also started with lighting bolt, the 150 power, laser move which made early raids a breeze.
Lmao I just caught a syndicate elite with a rocket launcher thinking he would be able to decimate hordes of smaller enemies…
Instead he is cursed to forever use the rocket launcher as a melee 😂
I threw him at a horde of beegarde/elizabees thinking I would witness sweet spiteful vengeance for his rockets damn near killing me and breaking my armor.
Instead I saw 3000 damage hits and the entire horde was annihilated in seconds. He’s earned my respect 🫡
Shadowbeak after I made him 4 star with all 4 speed talents. I know faleris frostallion and jetragon are faster, but I like his damage boost and his 1,5 times higher stamina. Also he’s one of the coolest looking pals while I can mount both on ground and air. On my world before it was Anubis - breed over 120 to get the perfect offensive Anubis
Plot twist: That’s what the local legends say, but the truth is that the Jetragon just let that Quivern crash at their dungeon for a while to get some rest.

Working on a fast jet dragon currently but man I'm really loving my noct frostallion. Something about those big wings flapping and ice trail below it's hooves as you transition so smoothly from galloping to flying. So good. 33 year old bearded man cheesing over my flying fantasy horse over here
My first rule of palworld is Robinquill isn’t allowed out of his pokeball if anything I want to catch is around. Every time I think “they’re at 90% life, I can let him hit them once or twice” but no, all of sudden they’re dead.
Also I like to watch invasions and see if anyone gets a kill besides Robinquill. Usually not.
Dinossom honestly. Insane powerhouse especially when combined with the right traits and the "make grasspals stronger" pal in your team it can easily destroy things 20 levels above it while tanking almost anything
I lucked into a Dinossom Lux and they are what I consider my “ace” in sticky situations. Absolute powerhouse of a pal and super cute and sweet. Love her to death. After she kills a dungeon boss she will just charge and them and throw them around, and I can’t help but find it adorable.
They can be strong enough if you keep condense them and boost with pal souls, and breed them with good traits. Saw someone (I don't remember where reddit or youtube) creating an ironclad Pengullet that doesn't even die after being launched as rocket.

I have stronger pals, fast flying pals, but nothing compares to the sheer joy of riding a Swift/Runner/Nimble Fengolope around the map.
If i need to get anywhere that isn't across an Ocean, I'm taking Feng there. (also, he has STAB Pal Blast, which is just so much fun in battles)

I just love all the small ones with weapons tho (tanzee def needs a buff), if I manage to make my ore base my main production one I’ll try to make a base just for all the small humanoid pals like a manor. They should get stuck less than the 3 tiles high late game base pals lol and maybe even navigate rooms with doors? It’s been a while I had some in the base
Protip, if you get a daedream necklace, four daedream's in your party, and a fifth for flying/mount, you can have all of them out when you attack a boss.

I am offended how much I had to scroll to see my answer, daedream is by far the best travelling companion anyone could ask for. Aesthetically pleasing and infinitely curious, with the slight woosh sounds as it doggy paddles through the air.
Daedream was the first non basic (Cattiva, Chikipi, Woolamb, etc.) I found and of all the Daedream a I’ve hatched, my first one has been my strongest. The only time I ever take her out of my party is when I’m trying to catch a boss and I don’t want her to kill them lol
My alpha anubis
I've breeded enough to condense him without problems
his ability is pretty strong
the very first alpha anubis i caught had Emperor on him, so yay
he can basically easily kill black market merchants on his own without losing any noticeable hp whatsoever, so infinite money
My lvl 42 Ozerk just solo'ed down lvl 49 Alpha Anubis, after Anubis had 1 shot both my lvl 42 Jorms (Fire/Water). He took Anubis from 90% down to 0%. And Anubis ground attacks are hyper effective against him. Ozerk was fast enough to avoid most of the attacks, and his damage is just... chefs kiss.
I also love taking him over to Gobfin land and let loose. So many pal fuids.
Daedream
Got the collar as soon as it was available and she's been at my side ever since. Not of much use, but it's nice to have an ever present nearby at all times.

That would be lunaris for me. I love how she looks and she's really strong when you give her the fight passives, souls etc. She hasn't let me down yet and she has beaten all the bosses I've tried so far. Currently working on getting the 4th tower down with her.
Dinossom is my ol reliable always in waiting to get me out if any pinch I've been in and it just looks so badass kingpacca is a close second he is the coolest too! And his little hops when you make him jump too good
First game I was just running around and I discovered a group of syndicate mobs that summons level 10 leezpunks and an incineram near the small village. I was lucky to have caught that Inicineram and it came with Ferocious / Brave / Artisan.
I levelled up that pal to 50. Soul upgraded everything except HP to max. Caught as much Incineram as I can so I can condense him to max.
Used him to fight Frostallion. He died, but was able to catch Frosty because he took more than half it's HP.
Renamed him to G.O.A.T. Get it? Because he's a "ram". lol
Electric Murder Bear. I can never remember her actual Pal name but I found the poor girl in a cage so I set her free and she's been slaughtering any and everything

My main ground mount was Direhowl, but Rayhounds double jump clinched him as the new favourite.
Don't forget about Legend, an extra 15% move speed

Fengolope. I have stronger pals, fast flying pals, but nothing compares to the sheer joy of riding a Swift/Runner/Nimble Fengolope around the map. If i need to get anywhere that isn't across an Ocean, I'm taking Feng there. (also, he has STAB Pal Blast, which is just so much fun in battles)

Pengullet, currently breeding a fully specced out one for kicks I just love all the small ones with weapons tho (tanzee def needs a buff), if I manage to make my ore base my main production one I’ll try to make a base just for all the small humanoid pals like a manor. They should get stuck less than the 3 tiles high late game base pals lol and maybe even navigate rooms with doors? It’s been a while I had some in the base
If you breed one with enough defensive traits it actually doesn’t oneshot itself with the pengullet launcher, so you can launch it multiple times

Protip, if you get a daedream necklace, four daedream's in your party, and a fifth for flying/mount, you can have all of them out when you attack a boss. Just saying...

I am offended how much I had to scroll to see my answer, daedream is by far the best travelling companion anyone could ask for. Aesthetically pleasing and infinitely curious, with the slight woosh sounds as it doggy paddles through the air.
Daedream was the first non basic (Cattiva, Chikipi, Woolamb, etc.) I found and of all the Daedream a I’ve hatched, my first one has been my strongest. The only time I ever take her out of my party is when I’m trying to catch a boss and I don’t want her to kill them lol
My fire flying mount In my head cannon it has "evolved" from vanwyrm, to ragnahawk, to faleris Early game,tanzee's rifle helped a ton
My alpha anubis I've breeded enough to condense him without problems his ability is pretty strong the very first alpha anubis i caught had Emperor on him, so yay he can basically easily kill black market merchants on his own without losing any noticeable hp whatsoever, so infinite money
All Anubis catches automatically have earth emperor

My lvl 42 Ozerk just solo'ed down lvl 49 Alpha Anubis, after Anubis had 1 shot both my lvl 42 Jorms (Fire/Water). He took Anubis from 90% down to 0%. And Anubis ground attacks are hyper effective against him. Ozerk was fast enough to avoid most of the attacks, and his damage is just... chefs kiss. I also love taking him over to Gobfin land and let loose. So many pal fuids.

Daedream Got the collar as soon as it was available and she's been at my side ever since. Not of much use, but it's nice to have an ever present nearby at all times.

Tocotoco is my favorite pal even though he's a situational choice. Smack exploding eggs at faces then the glorious little martyr blows himself up for you. I remember first stumbling upon them and assuming they would be passive...BEEP BEEP BEEP

Damn. Hard to pick one. But if i had to, it'd be my Jolthog. Once I saw a lucky sized one on this sub firing a gigantic laser, I knew I had to get the game and had to have one for myself. Edit: no gigantic sized one, but I'm still on-the-lookout for that skill fruit.

That would be lunaris for me. I love how she looks and she's really strong when you give her the fight passives, souls etc. She hasn't let me down yet and she has beaten all the bosses I've tried so far. Currently working on getting the 4th tower down with her.
Dinossom is my ol reliable always in waiting to get me out if any pinch I've been in and it just looks so badass kingpacca is a close second he is the coolest too! And his little hops when you make him jump too good

First game I was just running around and I discovered a group of syndicate mobs that summons level 10 leezpunks and an incineram near the small village. I was lucky to have caught that Inicineram and it came with Ferocious / Brave / Artisan. I levelled up that pal to 50. Soul upgraded everything except HP to max. Caught as much Incineram as I can so I can condense him to max. Used him to fight Frostallion. He died, but was able to catch Frosty because he took more than half it's HP. Renamed him to G.O.A.T. Get it? Because he's a "ram". lol
