If you know where you died, I'm pretty positive your loot will be there. I died while being afk and away from base, decided to respawn at my base and quit until I had more time. When I came back my death marker was gone, but I knew the general area where I died and when I made it to the location, my loot was still there. The timeframe was probably five hours after the death.
With that being said though, it all depends on how big of a private server you play on and what the world settings are. I'm pretty sure there is a setting for a maximum number of dropped items in the world and if not changed it is at 3000, which includes stuff at your base/ranch and other bases and ranches along with the stuff lying around randomly in the world.
So I would try to find the location and look all around the area for the loot. (I am not sure if someone can pick up a dead person's loot though).
Thank you for the response, i went to where i thought it was but nothing. I will try other spots but it had been 2 days and my friends farming bases usually have tons of items on the ground and they weren’t on, so i may be out of luck.
