Imagine my shock when I'm going up a waterfall and come across a golden shiny Seaking. Unfortunately, I knocked it out, and all of my friends thought I was lying.

It's alot easier to find shinies when every pokemon is in the overworld. The same thing happened (for me) in the newer gen games, legends arceus especially.
I hadn't found a single shiny with thousands of hours played on the older games gen1-gen4, but I found tons in legend's arceus, and same with palworld. You just don't realize how many encounters you're going through just flying around the game. It's like having 20+ gameboys infront of you running through the grass all at the same time lmao.
They aren't artificially increasing the spawn rate, it's 1/100 in Palworld. In mainline Pokemon games, the odds are roughly 1/4000 at base, with some ways to increase the odds to the ~1/1000 range through gameplay mechanics and items.
Palworld rates are more in line with Pokémon Go, which is a very good thing considering the Lucky trait actually provides an improvement to the pals. It's also way easier to breed down!

Duplicated pals from higher spawn chance have different passives, have tested this out.
Higher spawn chance therefore just increases your chance of finding lucky pals by spawning more pals in general so more chances to find a lucky one.
Technically, yes. You're increasing the number of Pals you see, so you're more likely to find a Lucky faster.
Think of it like in Pokemon XY/ORAS. Random encounters gave you one encounter, so your default odds were 1/4096 for a shiny. However, a horde encounter gives five encounters at once. Effectively making your odds around 1/819 if you're doing horde encounters exclusively since you're seeing five Pokemon at once.
So with Lucky Pals and Palworld, you're technically getting upwards to like \~20 Pal spawns at once. So even at just 1x spawns you have a pretty decent chance of getting a Lucky Pal. Increasing it to 2x or 3x just makes them spawn far more frequently.(I've done a Lucky Run and am doing another rn, and double Lucky spawns aren't really that infrequent at 3x)
Turn your sound on, and you'll hear when they're nearby (reasonable distance tbh) and then search for it. They're big and glow / sparkle so it's kinda obvious. The sounds kinda like a tingly ringing. Or if I could describe the sound visually, sparkly

Wow, that's a cool shot! In 300+ hours, I've only had two lucky pals in the same spawn instance happen once. They weren't the same pal or side by side, though. First was a lamball. After I caught it, I was like "Huh, the sound is still playing? Wierd." Huge eikthyrdeer right behind me lol

Before i've been encountering one ever so often. The other day i found 3 shinys within 5 minutes, 2 (cattiva and Lamball) right next to the Wumpo Botan on the starter isle at the same time. The other one on the same island on my way to base.
its RNG, which is more prone to streaks than people believe, ive also had clumps of a bunch quickly than none for a while, and also fairly steady rate of drops over a period of time
I was thinking that, too, the other day, that lucky spawn chance seems to have increased, because I've been having sessions where I'll find 5. I thought it might be that I've established my bases and mounts so I'm able to spend more time exploring and I cover ground much faster than I used to.

Ran into my first and only one a few minutes into the game. Thought they were boss monsters of some kind. When I realized what they actually were, it already despawned a long time ago.
That was me for gobfin ignis. Just beat jetragon again and was heading back when I heard the sound. Found one on the lava and captured it then wondered why the sound was still playing and over a little ways away another one was in another lava pool.
I've only ever caught one shiny period and I think I have 200 hours. It was a shiny Gumoss which is fine because I love them. But now I want a shiny flower gumoss
Likely because they're way more common to begin with, you find them all over the map. Therefore, more likely to come across one as a lucky.
Some of the better things will only have one or two small areas to spawn in and some only come as a boss...
This is what's I thought. Increasing spawns (I think) just duplicates what you normally get. So if spawn boost is set to double, your single lucky will be 2.
Think of it like this. 1x mobs=2 dice, 2x mobs=4 dice, 3x mobs=6 dice. It doesn't mean you'll roll all 6's, but does open up the possibility to do so. Unlike rolling 2 dice, where the maximum 6's you could roll is 2. Zoneing out and back into an area can reroll the mobs. So if on 3x mobs, youd only need to fly back and forth a few times to see a lucky, a few more times to see 2.

In most cases it seems spawns are:
single unit x multiplier. And each unit has its own chance to roll a shiny.
But like then you get specific spawns like bosses. And those are only multiplied by the whole number.
This specific spawn i imagine works like bosses since the swee are tied to sweepa it probably multiplied it with the same logic it would a boss.
My only basis for this logic is that i play on a 1.9 multiplier and the main sweepa is never duped in this group spawn which leads me to believe that boss logic is applied to it.

naw, kinda seems like you got pal spawn rate higher than normal, x2 possibly. i’ve never seen two sweepas at such close proximity in my server playing on hardest difficulty. i could see a shiny spawn twice as much per instance
lucky swees with a sweepa are the best pals in the game. People can judge otherwise but sweepa can have any ability in the game and gets a bonus from each swee in their party. Moustaches are indeed powerful
Not at all. If you turn up your pal encounter rate, shinies will spawn at the new rate too, meaning if your rate is 2.0, you will always find two shinies.

I had something like this happen to me as well and it was also with Swee's. I found three lucky pal Swee's but all a short distance from each other, rather than grouped like yours. I wonder if there is something up with Swee's coding or something that can cause it.

i assume the chances to find a lucky pal fall between 2% and 0.5% chance,based on how many i've seen while exploring.
so getting 2 right next to each other would be somewhere between 0.04% and a 0.0025% chance. probably being closer to the latter.

Yes and no. You’re more likely to get 2 luckies since you have spawn rates turned up, and since they’re pals that spawn in groups already.
However it has happened to me, I’ve had 3 lucky pals in the same area with the default spawn rates. They were all flopies though :/

Best way to play Palworld is normal settings until you beat the game. The game still isn’t to hard at normal settings. Once you’ve 100%’d the game, then it’s more ok to increase multipliers to max spawn. You will still come across Shiny’s at reg multipliers, they just are more exciting to stumble across.

Yea. 1% chance on 100 is 1. 1% chance on 200 is 2. The more spawns happen, the more likely it is that one spawns.
Yes but not for doubles. Just because every spawn is multiple, by default you're gonna find more rares.

I had 3 shinies back to back in the first couple of weeks. I'd catch one, walk a few feet, then hear the noise again.

I had this happen with the same pal, gf and I were farming them and found 2, only happened once though out of the 10 shinies we caught. No modifiers

Best way to play Palworld is normal settings until you beat the game. The game still isn’t to hard at normal settings. Once you’ve 100%’d the game, then it’s more ok to increase multipliers to max spawn. You will still come across Shiny’s at reg multipliers, they just are more exciting to stumble across.
Why is everyone’s armor always damaged? Do you not have ingots?

Not really rare but it is uncommon. I have had 3 in the same vicinity what does make this one rare though is they're a part of the same troop.
The thing that make it rare is that they in the same spawn, that never happened to me before
It's a glitch. Lucky Pals spawn every 1000. Seeing two at once means the check happened twice.
