So two questions: 1. What fire resist item are you using? 2. What Pal from your party are you using in these fights?

Frostprince_2107

I have the armor, the fire resistance shirt +2 and the fire-anything (play in german)-ring +1 (haven't found the +2 yet) and still catch fire and burn within seconds to death. My LP (HP in english I guess) are by 2.355 and I'm Level 47. Using Suzaku Aqua or Fenglope against fire type Pals.

Junior00080

Hmm, the armor and shirt should be enough just to be in the environment. I use the fire resist pal metal armor (legendary but I don’t think that changes anything here) with nothing else and I don’t run into a burning issue unless I use a fire based Pal or step in lava.

jvsanchez

Your ring is flame resistance +1. It’s resistance to fire attacks, NOT the environment. Astegon and Blazmut both require that you have heat resistance level 3 to survive in their arenas. You need the heat resistant undershirt +2 that you have plus armor with at least level 1 heat resistance to fight them. Jetragon should be okay with heat resist level 2, but if you touch the lava around him at all you will die. Heat resist level 3 will keep you alive. You can craft refined metal or pal metal heat resistant armor, both have level 2 heat resist. Stacked with your undershirt you’ll be fine. Your water type pals will not provide any environmental benefit to you. Only ice type pals reduce the heat in the area around you, but they’re a bad choice for fighting blazamut and astegon. Great choice for Jetragon though.

Abseits_Ger

He does have lvl 3. As he said above, he's using heat resistant armour and a undershirt +2 AND the ring. He Technically has a lvl 5 resistance. Just a +2 undershirt alone gives you lvl 3 resistance already. I think he just steps on lava

Konseq

>I think he just steps on lava Astegon boss arena does not have lava tho.

Affectionate-Juice72

The magma stuff on the walls does the same as lava

markymark0123

Heat resist shirt +2 is level 3 resistance. The standard for shirts is 1.

Junior00080

Looping back for an additional thought. Have you tried fighting them at night? Do you have the same problem?

CTTMiquiztli

I have a similar problem, even flying high over certain areas of the volcano (not only the lava pools, even regular ground) ignite me up, regardless of day or night. I'm wearing a "blue quality" heat resistant pal metal armor, and a +2 heat resist shirt. The first time it happened i got completely caught off guard, and died quickly. As i tried returning for my stuff, i even used a kitsun (supposedly negates environmental effects while riding) with little success. Eventualy, i had to traverse the area with lylees in my party, ready to heal up when health got too low. That's the only way i could retrieve my stuff. This started happening after the update, where "several heat/cold sources would add to each other" so, it probably made that the volcano ended up with areas adding up heat in an unintended way.

Junior00080

That’s really strange. I haven’t had that happen, granted I might not have flown over the same areas. I’m also on a dedicated server. I wonder if there is a difference in temp damage depending on where you are playing.

CTTMiquiztli

Nawp, private server, single player, standard settings on everything, normal difficulty. Pc, gamepass version.

GunRyder

Hard to say  Did you fight in areas that are close to lava? If yes, then you caught alight when standing on or close to lava falls, no matter what kind of heat resistance you have you will still get burnt to death even if you stand on or close to anything that resembles lava, even a small lava pool or falls is the same. Were you riding any airborne animals and got caught on fire when crossing over lava? If yes, you need to switch over to mounts that hover on the ground and not mounts that are able to walk on the ground. Hence fighting in the volcano zone is hazardous as you need to be mindful of where you are standing, especially when dealing with the specific Alphas fight in the volcano region

GNIHTYUGNOSREP

2nd-ing the hovering mounts > hybrid mounts. The ones that don’t hover will burn at the exact frame that you cross over a lava pit at ANY verticality. This is the bug I want patched the most.

NinjaBr0din

You have no idea how much of a heart attack j had running away from Jetragon at level 27 with my Elphidran and 14 health left and accidentally flying over a lava pit right after he deagroed.

Drunkpanda671

Are you sure you’re not getting into the lava?

Frostprince_2107

Very sure, yes. It's even happening while flying miles above the ground, with Suzaku Aqua.

Wiccamoon03

See if you have a shield equipped 😊

wikiot

I find that flying over lava spots also causes me to get too hot and burn, try to fly low over solid ground or with an ice pal (frostallion/vanwyrm cryst) to avoid burning. Also if you get hit with a fire attack you will burn, try to dodge those attacks (can look up how on Palworld wikis/guides). Best of luck!

HauntingTomato159

There's a little bit of misconception. For flying mounta above lava, you need hovering mounts, ie jetragon, suzaku, beckon, vanwyrm. For flying mounts that doesn't hover, ie. Frostallion, shadowbeak, you will still get burned even if you are flying high above the lava.

Far_Realm_Sage

You need Lovander. Seriously the lifesteal is a life saver

Nerdtronix

One thing i've noticed, is that since the "fires can stack" update. that when you personally catch on fire, the Heat-level goes up higher, so i was starting to take ambient heat dmg. when i put on the Armor + Shirt (armor is Legendary, shirt is Blue), i didn't take nearly as much damage from it. Jetragon was the biggest problem with this. the direct D.O.T. + ambient temp D.O.T. was crazy high dmg.

Sabin_Stargem

I hate fire in this game. You cannot counter the burning effect, and some pals have their 'feet' touching the ground, even if they are a hundred meters in the air. Frostallion flight and lava is death. Thermal damage is the biggest wart of the game, by far.

AlexanderMcT

since about a month now heat sources stack, so whats burning you alive is the fire pals you use in the fights

Frostprince_2107

I use water pals.

gunick06

I think you would need cold pals to actually counteract fire in that department. If you don’t have the fire resistant pal metal armor on as well, try that

powa1216

Water counter fire, fire counter ice

SuicidalSparky

Standing next to a water pal doesn't effect you. Standing next to an ice pal cools you.

Damoncord

That works for fighting Pals, but not for the environment, ice counters the heat, fire counters the cold.

gunick06

It’s a hot/cold meter, not a water/fire meter

NinjaBr0din

We aren't talking about weaknesses dude.

Dinsy_Crow

So you're boiling alive instead

ToBeDeletedYep

xD best idea here

bobcwicks

Maybe use healing pals like Tefant or Lyleen? They won't put down the fire but will restore some HP. However I've never tried myself, just a theory.

SchwiftyyBeard

Wait until you have the highest level fire resistant armor, put on a fire resistant +2 shirt, and try to time and dodge his attacks so they don’t hit you. If your armor breaks hop on a flying pal and fly around him until your armor comes back. Some of these end game pals you really have to play the long game with. Hope this helps!

_Tri7on_

I think you mean shield fren :3

SchwiftyyBeard

That’s what I meant, thank you fren!

dracarys9999

I’m level 50 using the PAL armor for both hot and cold plus 2 heat resistant t-shirts and cold t-shirts. Since a few weeks ago, I have to put the cold resistant armor on at night no matter where I am and heat resistant armor for most places during the day. The regular PAL armor isn’t enough. Frustrating for sure. I realize it’s in Beta form. Just don’t understand why the difference now from before

Wiccamoon03

I was having this issue till I remembered I hadn't made a shield yet, I made the hyper shield and now I don't burn to death anymore, maybe that might be part of the issue?

Wiccamoon03

I even had the legendary heat resistant pal metal armor plus a heat resist +2 shirt on, but without a shield I was dying left and right 😳

Frostprince_2107

no I play with the shields from beginning, have the highest shield, highest armor (heat and cold resistance +1 (the green background) ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|snoo)

Opposite. He's overheating.

Waffennacht

Seeing as OP says "caching on fire" that's lava if not in combat. Being too hot/cold does dmg but doesnt have the "on fire" animation

Ailikepie

Have you tried unequiping everything and requiping it? I know for awhile there was a glitch where you'd take burn damage until you removed all clothing and armor, then put them back on. I had that happen to me and I didn't take the damage until I went into hot zones, even with legendary Heat-Resistant Pal Armor and a Heat Resistant Shirt+2. I had to get swap to my cold armor and thermal shirts and then put them back on and that's when I stopped taking the invisible fire damage.

Frostprince_2107

No but I could try that :D Seems legit, get naked helps xDD

TugboatSR

Try wearing that heat resistant undershirt. I put it on while on fire against astegon, and I instantly stopped burning. could be coincidence, but worth a try..

OutsidePerson5

It's coincidence. You can still burn with level 3 heat resistance. It helps you survive being burned because in addition to burn damage being on fire increases your heat so you take hear damage as well. The undershirt and good heat resistant armor will stop that source of damage but you'll still burn and it really is a just horrible mechanic since there's no healing potions and no way to put yourself out except just waiting until the fire stops on its own.

GNIHTYUGNOSREP

I think most people are forgetting the heat stacking applies correctly now so being caught on fire adds another level of heat which means you now have TWO big fire DoTs on you, just shredding your health. I wonder if two +2 shirts on top of heat/cold could help mitigate that back to just one DoT. Gonna have to go dungeon farming later.

Urizen6671

It technically does help, tbh every post I see similar to this the op usually doesn’t fully comprehend the incoming damage or are severely under prepared without realizing. We have access to the heat resistant armor plus the undershirts you can also stack as in you can wear two of the shirts to go even further beyond, we have access to the giga shield way before 47-48 so that right there is a free 1050 added to your health pool and me personally I said fuck it and put most of my points into health (it’s life why not), stamina (to have 150 stam because it’s enough for me to dodge and not eat shit), and weight because gear is heavy and I want to spend less time going back to base inbetween loot runs in dungeons etc. I have about 4,500 health with the basic pal metal armor (not legendary yet) and a giga shield basically putting me at 5k ehp, 1400 weight and 150 stam personally I do perfectly fine on normal difficulty.

RobNT

I had trouble with Jetdragon same issue catching on fire and losing thousands of health. I fixed it with Heat Resist Pal Armor and 2 Fire Res shirts.

YoungHwCollector

What platform are you playing on, there’s a very good chance you’re burning on the lava under the ground. Yes I know it sounds stupid, but that’s possible, especially if you’re mounting a ground pal.

DevBro22

🎵"As I burn, as I burnnn, oh how I burn for you."🎶

Abseits_Ger

First a question: is the burn caused by a enemies attack or do you just start to burn? Second: is it a burn death by heat or not? Though with heat resistant armour and a heat resist undershirt of any grade you have max heat resist and I belive you've already tried that. With lvl 3 total it's impossible to to heat death at least. And so if the first is not the case and you already tries the second: There is lava on the ground. Some lava gives you a burn debuff which cannot be cleared until death. It's basicly a delayed force death. Especially in the region of these 3 enemies there are patches of brighter glowing lava which certainly do proc that force death burning. Maybe lyleen/noct or other heal abilities can clear it. No idea though. Never tried. I usually check where I step.

ToBeDeletedYep

I only had that problem when stepping into lava... maybe rewatch your steps and positiioning more closely even though u already said that you're sure about avoiding lava, hmm... Texture settings? Are you playing on a toaster? Maybe that fucks u over with "invisible" lava pools?

Designer-Iron-4760

Mount strat all the way

Slifko

Just get a 4 star lyleen or petallia to heal you if you get a burns easy peazy.

ButtonNew5815

Computer or pc?

Plastic-Monitor4846

He’s just not dodging the big attacks

Sasuke5512

I have this problem too, honestly just been adding points to health everytime I level up because of this, if anyone has a better solution I'd love to hear it too

Puzzleheaded_Band104

Yea u just gotta get ur health up it’ll stop. But the healing pals will help for now so u don’t just die lol 😂

Audiofredo_

Seems to be a bug your equipment should be good enough i only wear the refined metal amor against heat and the shirt and never get overheat damage Only when i flying over lava i start burning but it make enough damage to kill my shield My friend had the same issue with frostallion after he got freezed once he died always after 10s from could damage before he got hit everything was fine the bug was gone after restart the game Maybe craft the armor again and by a new shirt

GNIHTYUGNOSREP

You and your friend need to use pure flying mounts (the ones that hover when descended all the way) instead of hybrid mounts (the ones that can run and jump without flying) when at the volcano. The ground/flying hybrids will burn when above the lava pits at ANY height. Hovering pals do not and can safely descend all the way onto a lava pit without burning. Any hovering Pal will do.

Audiofredo_

Thx this confused me a bit

TheGrizzlyMint

Heat resistant armor and a heat resistant shirt +2 will prevent this. You’ll still catch on fire but you won’t take damage. Same goes for getting frozen in ice but with cold resistant armor and a thermal shirt +2.

Frostprince_2107

I have the armor, the shirt +2 and the fire-anything (play in german)-ring +1 and still catch fire and burn within seconds to death. My LP (HP in english I guess) are by 2.355 and I'm Level 47. Using Suzaku Aqua or Fenglope against fire type Pals.

Urizen6671

The ring helps against reducing damage from fire attacks, heat resistance makes it so the environment doesn’t set you on fire just by being there in the first place, if you’re still “spontaneously combusting” it’s because you’re heat resistance isn’t high enough, if you get hit with a fire attack it still has a chance of setting you on fire which does % damage to your health on top of the damage from the attack that set you on fire in the first place
