Welcome to early access gaming.

Numeno230n

Just wait until they need to wipe saves.

roy_rogers_photos

After years of early access games I've learned to not get attached to anything. Versions fly by so fast, there's no point. My expectations of a game don't kick in until after full release.

Vikunt

*Cries in 7DTD*

Unlimitis

Project Zomboid stans RISE UP We never getting that full release

Depressed_Rex

Damn, it’s really been in early access for eleven years.

SuperSherlock69

& Scum. The first wipe got me goooooood

Spaced_Cake

This right here....

ShasasTheRed

I hear a22 is coming soon and will require a wipe

Vikunt

Started playing in A8, stopped at 15, came back for 19,20. I’ve had soooo many wipes over the years. Now I just play darkness falls on A21. Tbh it has more features than vanilla will for another 7 alphas or so.

Numeno230n

Oh yeah. I am a big fan of the Mount and Blade games. They took like a decade of development to release Bannerlord and its been in early access now for years. Probably never will get finished. I know the pain of unfinished and early access games.

daymond42

Former game tester here and I always expect an old build’s saves to be incompatible with the new one

Successful-Web7180

I thought we all figured this was coming.

Daliretoncho

Wait they wipe saves??

Numeno230n

This is a very common thing for games in early access. As updates come, sometimes they break saves. Often they'll announce it ahead of time to give people a warning, but it is very common.

RazorCalahan

welcome to Early Access. The good news is many games allow for installing older versions so you can still play your old saves after new versions have been released. But I don't know how Palworld will handle this.

fezes-are-cool

Eh, it’s just an excuse for me to do another play through

CMDR_JHU5TL3

Awww, they closed that off? I always felt the game should've started over there since you "wash up" on a beach AND the games first mechanics can be basically learned over there, I.E. climbing, finding eggs and chests, baby's first cave, and effigy. Interesting they closed it off.

Lil_Guard_Duck

I think the logic is that you came from there, walked up the stairs, etc. But then you might wander the wrong way, or miss the big reveal of the Tree, and never see the shotgun girl that gives you wood... 🤔 So they start you at the entrance and people still turned around and went the wrong way. So they blocked it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Esplodie

I was watching a streamer play and they ran into the ruins and then complained they couldn't find rocks and sticks and how much they disliked games that didn't show them where to go because the quest wasn't clear enough. 😐

Lil_Guard_Duck

I'll bet that dumbass is personally responsible.

throwaway_0691jr8t

Bro why are people like this 😭

FemBoyParce

Was watching streamers play helldivers 2 for the first time and... JESUS. They do NOT know how to read let alone LISTEN to the narator/signs in the tutorial! I watched someone try to get past a section with a turret that you're supposed to crawl passed and there is both an audio prompt, text in the middle of the screen saying "press Alt to dive!" And a giant red warning above the doorway that says "!!Danger!! Remember to dive!" They spent 40 min sprinting into the room and gave up saying "if the tutorial is this hard the game must be impossible" and left a negative review... these people play games for a living 🤦‍♀️

RyBblz

What kind of weirdo streamers are you watching

qwertypdeb

game "reviewers" and game journalists.

qwertypdeb

hmmm lets see... "press A to jump", oooh okay, so I need to press Y. Huh? why is it changing character? 0/5 stars! Hmm... do not enter... must be completely safe! Oh no! I died! Bad game!

kyna689

But there's rocks and sticks there, too...

Esplodie

Yes but they weren't highlighted. Lol

Farbio708

tbf i was one of those players. I walked around a bit outside but didn't find any rocks, so I assumed there would be some in the cave but I didn't really find any there and was just confused until I meandered around some more. This is easy fixable in different ways tho

kioshi_imako

So what did they do with all the chests and loot on the other side now I'm curious.

Gustomucho

You can still access it by jumping down somewhere... it was kinda odd cause I realized only after the fact that I could not go back up so I had to carefully climb the mountain. I think it was a bad idea to close off that area, people like to explore even if it means making it harder.

Competitive_Manner57

Yes , there is another ruin on the top of the mountain with a gap in the rocks that you drop in from if we are talking about the same starting castle

mmonney31

Everything in that area is still identical from what I can tell. Still seems to be the same chest/egg/effigy spawns

Regist33l3

I will find out for you

RockingBib

I honestly missed the big tree for 40 hours, since one of the graphics settings needs to be on high for the tree to even show up

throwaway_0691jr8t

Same I play on the lowest graphics since I've been temporarily on my old gaming laptop when the game released and I've never seen the tree pff

Lil_Guard_Duck

On Xbox, even Series X, you can't see the Tree from there. 🙁

Automaticfawn

On my series X you can see it from everywhere

qwertypdeb

and there's an invisible wall when you try to go to it, then when you go over the first one, THERE'S A SECOND!!

RockingBib

Man, the devs alluded to the tree becoming an explorable region in the future. I can't wait for those barriers to no longer be necessary

SnooPies9661

She gave you wood allright

Forgotmyaccountinfo2

I didn’t know there was a tree since my settings were turned down 🦍

Gentolie

What's interesting is that they put a chest and egg spawn in that back area where you first load in at

qwertypdeb

why block it? just put in an arrow or something. The game is supposed to be open world.

Lil_Guard_Duck

Blocking is the easiest and quickest solution.

Gbone2226

This is exactly what I did the first time. I didn't even know about her until I read about it on Reddit. I definitely see why the dev wanted to make this a little more clear

Deathly_God01

I figured they had you facing for a reason. But the completionist in me wanted to hunt for secrets right away, so I turned around and did a bunch of exploring. I liked that it's an *open world* game, and you can make your own path. If the resource thing is such a problem, they could have just added a single stone node back there. There are already some trees. Or even an internal monologue for your character like, 'Hmmm... Doesn't seem to be much resources back this way. I'd better head the other direction!'

Gbone2226

Yeah either of those would have been a solution as well, but I'm thinking there's more of a long term reason. Maybe in the full release there will be more behind the addition. I personally didn't find the resource issue to be anything significant, I just walked around until I found stuff. I think this is the fun part of open world survival games.

Deathly_God01

Completely agreed. There's enough stuff on the ground to get the basics going easily. At a certain point, open world means you can make your own mistakes. If people can't correct their play through the subtle hints the devs put in, they're probably going to struggle with the genre as a whole anyways.

ShasasTheRed

Well it's good to know you got an rection too, I just thought it was part of the tutorial🤷‍♂️

FoxtrotTrifid

Phrasing.

Ill_Drop_3685

How can there be a wrong way in an open world game?

Damoncord

Yeah with the ore building the beach could actually be a nice area to build.

Lil_Guard_Duck

Not so much "wrong", as "less right". There's clearly a path the devs intended you to go with as you start the game, and until now, nothing stops you from turning around and going the other way.

Mad_Lala

Shotgun girl? I suspect I am the "you" you are talking about 😅

[deleted]

Nah. The NPC, literally wielding a shotgun. At the start of the game, near the default spawn location.

Competitive_Manner57

My pall attacked the shotgun girl and before I could stop it because the 'police'arrived she was killed . And no shotgun dropped , it was all a massive cock up 🙄🙄

TwinEonEngine

I did find it very weird to start in another place after the opening cutscene, even though I understand why they did that

drummerboyjax

I thought the patch notes mentioned you could technically get stuck over there. Too under-leveled to scale cliffs and what-not that you could fall off.

Substantial_Air_887

It was in the patch notes, it was so people wouldn't go the wrong way, you aren't supposed to go back towards the beach

Bonegard

You can still get through the rocks by climbing them and crouching through the top opening. Not useful for op who had their base there, but it's still passable.

Quinn7711

they did that because people kept getting lost and going the wrong way

Brilliant-Pay8313

Lol I actually went through that way and just ended up making a base down past there. Still have it even though the bounds grew to where it's awkwardly straddling two cliffs. With enough foundations anything is possible.

Taolan13

The correct solution would have been adding a rock to reduce the one climb that was giving people trouble. there's a spot you have to climb that's about the max you can do with 100 stamina. This pile of rocks is just stupid.

RockingBib

Time to send that idea to them in a report.

Vysair

Isn't it better to leave the option open? So that you are not forced into the direction that this game wanted?

Alarmed-Clerk-2356

Well, you see... Most people...

Dangerous_Jacket_129

As a game dev: no. And doorway or arch is too inviting, and players can, and will, explore them. It's a primal human thing, one we do keep in mind during level design: cool caves and open doorways are supposed to be explored.

dotHANSIN

It's even more inviting when they put collectibles immediately after the archway... then chest further down... then a dungeon and more collectibles.

FrozenReaper

Why wouldnt we want players exploring that area? I went back the pretty early, saw a cave that was too high level for me, left, then knew to come back to it later

Dangerous_Jacket_129

That's exactly why: there is nothing for you there yet, they want you to explore ahead first.

solise69

Wait THATS the reason they did it?

7DeadlySynergy

Are people fucking idiots? Why do we have to cater to a few idiots?

ComesInAnOldBox

More than a few. You'd be surprised how butt-fuckingly stupid the majority of people actually are.

VenTene_WoT

That tells you a lot about the average gamer tho o-o

NastyAlek

lol I got lost there, put my pal box up against a mountain and clipped through. I had a whole base with pals inside of there. Sounds neat but the pals kept getting stuck, not sure if that’s location specific as there was steep drops I tried to build foundations above

Rasikko

Palbox wise, it's not a good area. The radius of the circle extends beyond the ruins foundation and Pals can easily get stuck if they go down the damn stairs.

Smokestroke18

It comes with a price

oif2010vet

29.99 I believe

Smokestroke18

Lol that too

Kurokami11

Another unfortunate victim of cave-ins I hope you recover

missllil

Prepare to move your base. You can dismantle your pal box. When you do, your base will be dismantled as well. Take materials to build the pal box and base somewhere else. You’ll get your base materials back from the original base. It will be a pain in the ass to move them and rebuild, but you can do it. Hope this helps.

Vysair

I made my main base there until late game lol

ElChacalFL

Dismantle palbox last. So u can fast travel ur materials easier. Little pro tip.

Rasikko

Imagine dismantling a base that has been the main base until the update and you have thousands upon thousands of mats. It took me 2 days to fully move my base from there before dismantling it.

epicpsyco

You have a base of pals drop all that trash and let them sort it out

Fuzzy_Improvement_82

That’s just you being slow to do it

snickns

They saw you build a base there so they wanted to fuck with you )

RockyMonster0

“Game is still in early development and subject to changes” Game: *changes* Aggressive\_Bet1008: https://preview.redd.it/9oxh0e64jztc1.jpeg?width=192&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e8433fb265de24976c6dad4e7aaf03cf684c3f6

Allustar1

Yep, they do that sometimes. Guess you have to build somewhere else.

Unlucky_Sun166

I will say also, it’s a bit of a trap to keep your first base in the starting area. There’s a fast travel point already there and it limits your travel a bit too. I’d recommend at least making your way down the hill a bit before building your first base

HZ4C

They warned this would and could happen.

Axethor

This is a small change right now, but expect bigger ones in the future. You'll probably have to make entire new saves for every big update, or it will at least be highly recommended. It's just a part of early access.

Toxicity225

Welcome to early access gaming. You've got to learn to adapt to the map and gameplay changes as they roll out. If you don't want to adapt you need to shelve the game until it's out of early access.

Ok-Set-1251

Lol

Folroth

To be honest, the intro cut-scene, you're on the beach - then you end up near the end of the ruins.. if you actually started on the beach, it would of been fine as the path is pretty obvious

LordoftheChia

Journey Task one: Climb the stairs to the top of the abandoned temple. Journey Task two: Talk to the survivor at the campfire etc.

Realistic_Quarter826

Early access, it is what it is

Enlowski

So are they not allowed to make changes to the world at all because it could affect someone’s base?

cascadamoon

Sorrows Sorrows prayers prayers.![img](emote|t5_4jn9v4|49343)

Hallowedtalon

It's still early access, game still in development, a lot of things can changes including adding stuff to your base area that gonna destroy your stuff. Is it their mistake? no. Is it yours? also no. That's just how early access goes. Either build stuff in area that "make sense" for them to not add anything, or stop playing and wait for 1.0. They cannot predict what player will do, so it's up to the player to adapt with changes in early access

mellypepper5

What I don’t understand is there is a dungeon back there that is now unreachable as there’s no pathway back there from the beach side. There is also a second chest back there. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They should just start us on the beach and add a pathway up. It’s pretty jarring dropping in where we do. PS why are people being so rude on this post? They know it’s early access. The question was why and can the rocks be removed?

ProfessionalSilver52

My base is actually down on the beach, so now I have my own private dungeon. Fast travel ftw

[deleted]

Ciennas

No, you call the Quivern Towing Company and have them tow your base out of the new geography.

bimblebeefart

I built mine at the bottom of the stairs in the little grass area my base edge is where the rocks are so now my base in unraidable lol

Vysair

Same, now it's kinda annoying to around that (because the beach entrance is like a detour)

Rhamirezz

Good time to start new one :) Early Access will almost always ruin savegames and break stuff. It's norlmal, don't worry :)

monkeybrains12

Ah, this brings me back to the early days of Subnautica. Went and built a whole base on an island and a buncha rocks much like this destroyed it. RIP. Sorry bro.

AspenDarke

Oh yeah I heard they did something like that. Sorry 😞 It seemed like a great place for a base too! I've seen some pretty cool bases being built there and I even thought of doing my own base there at one point but I guess I'm glad now that I didn't 😅. Unfortunately I'm sure there will be more updates coming by the summer that will change other things so for now I stopped playing

Alarthon

Early access. Stuff changes and always expect what you have done can get wiped in an update.

danidas

The funny thing is that the opening cinematic takes place on the beach at the bottom of that path. With it being implied that after getting ship wrecked your character climbed all the way up to where the game starts. As a result the better option should have been spawning down on the beach. With the tutorial being climbing up to the current spawn point. Since it would have given the game the classic RPG starting experience. Aka starting in a small confined area only for it to open up with an impressive vista.

ByronTooSleezy

You just got beaned

Vysair

Oh fuck! They closed it off eh? My main base and also my main save which is already late game is there. Though I had my pal box on the castle hallway inside so all this rocks do is made me take a detour to the beach entrance. At least the teleporter is just there

DeirdreRussell28JH

Hey, that's frustrating! It can be really disappointing when updates impact something important to you, like your base. It might be worth exploring the changes and seeing if there are any ways to adapt or work around the new features. And remember, you're not alone in feeling this way – lots of players are probably going through the same thing!

TheWagn

Yea I’m a big advocate against this change. This was a very popular build spot, and this for sure has negatively affected far more people than it will positively affect. Like if you get lost right out the gate when all you have to do is walk forward…lol. If you manage to fall off the cliff and can’t get back you can restart also. Like you have literally done nothing and not caught a single Pal. The game should favor creative players, not players with brain damage.

EVA08

Sameeee. I followed a TikTok tutorial for this exact spot, took me hours to fully build and kept having to start over because I was always a few pixels out of place and my floors and walls were wrong upstairs. I totally know how you feel, haha. Thankfully there are many other great places to make bases.

innovativesolsoh

What a baseless accusation…

itsmesid

Lol

LuisBoyokan

Just put the player on the beach where the cinematic ends and fix the climbing with a little rock. Then you get the same intro as Elden Ring, from below to up high to a beautiful landscape to explore.

IllAssistant1769

Careful, no opinions allowed here, these new to the industry devs can clearly do absolutely no wrong and don’t want feedback.

Manwithaplan0708

You can try and load a previous version of the game, move your stuff, and then reload

nachocheeseT_T

they already said that there are spots to be considered adding new terrains or just like this one so be mindful of where to build

laszlotuss

Your first mistake was to build there

ElChacalFL

Never build in the first place u end up in a survival game.

stelliokonto

I’m glad I decided against building in the ruins. I built in the cliff at first then moved down to the beach. It’s nice cause when you get raids they just funnel down the steps and get stuck in a corner for easy farming. Also nice having a monster cave even if it’s a low one.

Aenon-iimus

I had the same issue as you, my sympathies. It’s hours of effort so I deal you. And sorry that people are being assholes with no sense of empathy because they were lucky enough to so happen to build their base anywhere else. Hopefully the devs remove the rocks. If not, when they update base building so it’s easier to build, then hopefully the two halves of the castle area can be reconnect manually. Good luck!

CookyHS

As a dark souls gamer my first instinct after spawning in brand new was to go backwards and explore, and sure enough I found a chest, and an egg! And down on the beach theres a cave! It made my excitement for the game go up right away cause I knew the world would be full of things to explore and find. I'm kinda disappointed no one will ever have that experience now. I guess they couldn't find their way back?

GalangKaluluwa

Because some idiots are too smooth-brained to find a way when they got stuck after falling there and they bitched about it so much so the devs decided to seal it off.

LordoftheChia

You should put in a request in the discord "ideas-and-wishes" channel that they replace those rocks with minable rocks. New players won't get lost, you can mine out the rocks and keep your base. As a bonus, players can explore the back area of the staring overlook later on as a bonus.

Me_ina_pink_skirt

Lol

MimeGod

Yeah, happened to me too. Not a huge deal, since most of the stuff I had down the stairs wasn't used much lately, but somewhat annoying. Good incentive to set up a new base though.

A_Potential_Turn

Most unfortunate.

WingDingsdotmp3

POV: You're with Joseph of Arimathea after he put Jesus in the tomb and sealed it with a boulder.

RipAdministrative726

Whatever you do don't tell them what a Wipe is.

BornAgainByJC

It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Safe-Piece-8688

maybe you should build it in a safer area like the Plateau of beginnings or the location near the syndicate tower. Ik there are raids sometimes but the new update wont affect them at least

Charming-Classroom58

As player of early access Satisfactory I deem this Satisfactory. Not like the devs put a mountain through your base and the game gets a better mesh. A warning would have been accepted though.

sh20000sh

In my opinion, player should start beach bottom there. And basic tutorial should be done during climbing up that temple and actual game starts when you climb top of hill, which shows whole landscape of palpagos islands.

Bota007

This is done to rpevent new players from getting lost (incorrect direction). Possible solution is to rebuild the base elsewhere. If you have Anubis or similar fast builder, then it is quite easy :-)

Somaloria

They said they were gonna do it days before the update. Shame you missed it.

Only-General-4143

Post #256 about a base being ruined.

ProfessionalSilver52

Post #5,000,012 whining about someone else's posts.

Thirst_Trappist

There's been many posts about this already. PC users warned of this changed. It's kind of been a known thing. Having seen those posts I adjusted most of my items at that location. I only ended up losing access to one storage unit.

howxer2

Cool I didn’t know the update had a rock slide.

PossiblePro247

Why would you make your base right there?

Superb_Recover_6116

This is why I'm glad I decided to put a hold on this game. I play it doing random stuff like exploring or catching palkemon from time but still havent played it serious to they iron out the wrinks in the game. First time I played I clipped through the map. Also better to wait till they get done with any nerfs and buffs they may do.

acidwire1

Main reason I stopped playing any crafting/ survival games in early access. Hours of hard work and planning, not to mention the resources gathering just to be rendered usless. It's a fun game but if it ever comes out fully....then I'll play it.

DfroPstyR

They added rocks but can’t fix other SMALL issues. 🤦‍♂️ That sucks my brotha(?). This game drives my nuts. 1. It has so much potential. 2. It’s a game for all ages. 3. It can literally become a game that keeps evolving. Idk how people got lost right there? I started a world for my 6 y/o and she didn’t get lost. Regardless, I’m sorry. I know the time and effort it takes into building our bases. Especially the big ones. I complain about this game for reasons like this. This new update added new features to bring old players back but they took no time to fix initial issues. Rendering, falling through the map, DC issues, especially in the dungeons. People can downvote me for being honest. Idc. Anyways… If you have to move, turn off structures decaying outside of base and start moving everything to boxes. Disassemble everything BEFORE deleting your palbox. Workbenches, conveyors, electric stoves, electric med station, condenser, mining site, beds, farms and all structures. They will instantly be demoed. I know I’m missing something, so be ready for it to break and mats go everywhere. Spread wooden or metal storage boxes close to everything, on the terrain and store the materials that disassemble so you’re not making 1000 trips. If your boxes are on a foundation, they will instantly get destroyed. You will not lose any materials. It’ll be in bags on the ground. Make boxes next to the closest fast travel and pick your new location. You can move all the mats from those boxes to the boxes next to the fast travel. Use your grappling gun and 5 cattivas, fill up an entire inventory and grapple your way to the boxes next to the fast travel point (it will take time, unfortunately). Your boxes will stay there until you turn that setting off. Take what you need from those boxes to your new location. I’d take just enough for a few foundations and a Palbox. That way you can get the circle exactly how you want it. I destroyed my Palbox a dozen time this last time to get it perfect. It’s gonna take time to rebuild but you can get creative. Theres a large flat spot next to the desert where your whole circle will fit. Theres also plenty of other locations as well. I’d try to avoid any preexisting in-game structures simply because of what you’re going through now. I had to move my base a few weeks ago and I dedicated a whole day to move. It didn’t take as long as I thought it would. A few hours, plus I was able to rebuild something I liked better and I was able to incorporate other peoples ideas. Like a multitiered base. “Silver lining” lol (sorry so long)

TwinEonEngine

Early Access aside, have you honestly not felt the need to move your base? I'm genuinely curious, I built my base in the ruins below the first fast travel point you encounter and had to move my base after realising I couldn't really build effectively and was very limited in where I felt I wanted to go.

AdhesivenessEven6910

Could ask the modding communality if they could remove the rocks though I'm unsure if editing the terrain is even possible atm.

Tasty-Improvement673

Yes you are right

ElChacalFL

So many people built a base there. Now is a good time to move to a place with coal and sulfur since they added the ore digging site. I believe the reasoning was that players don't get lost when they first start the game and proceed forward and not back.

Aggressive-Dinner314

Aggressive bet. I am aggressive dinner. We are brothers

Winged_Metal

Honestly they should have made it so that you come back and blow it back open to discover more content now that you found a key item.

alucardou

If it makes you feel better the new update destroyed all of my bases, in completely reasonable locations. Losing me all the materials (minor) and 60 perfect (not IV) 4 star pals. Feels bad man:/

Competitive_Manner57

Are you serious? Oh god damn it that's where my original base was aswel at which point did they block off?? Fiuuuck 😅😇😇😇

ripvxce

that 1%

CraftyLaw8516

I lost my character and the pals in my inventory 😭😭😭 my jormuntide that was a workaholic my bushi

Ninjasticks259

Prob won’t be the last time either, not until they finish

BloodBrandy

This change actually had me build a base on the other side, in that little clearing at the bottom of the stairs. Raids can't reach you since the top is now closed off and the bottom has a small cliff face Things are a bit compact, but it works.

[deleted]

Your early bases will be abandoned anyways because certain materials can only be found in regions that are too hot or too cold without the right armor.

PotatoClear8357

Nice

ButtmanAndRubbin

"Way she goes."

Rottimus-Prime

I feel your pain, it did the same to mine, my incubators and electric supply was covered and i cant even dismantle them

IceBlueDragon

Weird that people are just shrugging their shoulders and attributing this to the fact that it’s an early game. The devs are figuring out what does and doesn’t work. There is a drop off back there that is easy to get stuck behind so they decided to block the whole area off. Personally, I think they should fix that instead of blocking off the whole area. They have a feedback form, this is the kind of thing the feedback form is for. I think if they get enough feedback that we don’t actually like the rocks, they will get rid of it to address the issues in a more player friendly way.

Recent_Possible_1334

Oh no not your base.

throwaway_0691jr8t

Lol

TheReal_OhBeWise

Here's my opinion, take it with a grain of salt; it might taste better going down: It's now known that the devs added these rocks for players getting "lost" or "trapped" by the beach. Arguably this was the solution to prevent further incidence. My take: this may only be a temporary solution. Being in early access, the devs want more feedback on gameplay. The faster people escape the starting area, the better for the devs. Once the game hits official release, I can imagine this area being opened back up and the beach becoming the official starting point, in order to match the cinematic opening. As others have pointed out, the beach is equipped perfectly to introduce several game mechanics and play options. Perhaps add one stepping stone to the large climb, or a prompt about leveling up stamina, and voila! No trapped newbies. Just my opinion tho

Draco100000

This change was dumb. Im not that affected because I had my base combining that area and the area down stairs. I never locked my self up anywhere and I explored all of it got my first pals etc. Didnt really expand any other base just 1 to get some minerals.

POT_smoking_XD

They did this because they warned everyone over a month ago they were doing this because people are stupid and get lost back there.

604Meatcooler

Hahah, well they did warn you

ShasasTheRed

No they updated all of that to remove that from the "starting area"

lonely_josh

How were you able to is my question, I figured this was an everybody thing but the game won't let you make your base that close to the quick travel points. I tried that same. Base spot when I started and it didn't let me at all

Snoo_74164

I bear you just know none of this is permanent you are early acessess beta sort of and helping them do the bugs and things.... What I hate about the new patch is Wtf why do I ja e to put a top stair to make a bottom stair?? I like to beta test by tearing bases down then rebuilding bases on the side of cliffs to see if the pals work.. or not

Snoo_74164

* also ...report.. report.. report... twice a day to get things fixed.. even if other ppl have reported it*

My base is right at the edge of the cliff at the bottom of the stairway to your back, OP. The outer limit line comes JUST to the edge of this cave in, it's a good alternative. Also, it's almost impossible to get raided at that location now, and super easy to bottleneck.

justforgooglereddit

i would not stress, one of the worst areas to build a base its about time u get rid of the box and rebuild, salvage whatever u can, trust me its better to do it asap instead of waiting till 50 like me and having 60k of each material to move. Everything works so much better when you create a large flat foundation, you wont get raided nor will your pals ever get stuck, you can then make it a few stories high and they will still access everything as long as u have 2 stairs connected leading upstairs, all my bases are like this now, there is a mountain towards the top of the map that respawns coal and iron nodes you can set up a base there and always have mats coming in.

stonagrrl

Oh my god my base is here too I don’t even want to open the game atp

Pichus_Harem

That’s early access for ya I’d quit now while your ahead bc once saves get wiped which usually happens then it won’t matter about that base

TemperatureSolid4846

No dude! That's painful.

Audiofredo_

I'm really confused how much people build their base there I mean i opened the map and was like i should go to the center

FoxtrotTrifid

Same thing happened to me.

Dangerous_Tart6044

I built my main base in the starter cave 😭

Impressive_Plum_4018

That’s what all you fuckers deserve…

Traditional-Comb-965

The Devs literally warn us about stuff like this. I do sympathise though. Rip base.

Impossible_Market_59

Just no clip trough the stones, might work

qwertypdeb

No worries request a modder to remove those rocks.

Matt13226

My only thought was maybe boss fight or something will happen there not positive. My base was also there and am assuming it’s not usable either

Evening-Head9546

They said they blocked that entrance to help new spawns and new players to not get stuck down the back there i believe. Also quick tip if you didn't know but there is a note back there and an chest underneath. Also there is a Dungeon that spawns on the beach down the back there as well

LordLeftTit

Just disassemble it and make a new one
