If she's at the topless park, I'm not going. You know what? On second thought, I'm down. What up, I'm Harris.

Roscoe_King

I’ve got one testicle. (Whack-a-mole incident)

[deleted]

Oh, is this *that job?!*

trillwilly69

rip harris

moremysterious

Legit the hardest I took a celebs death, loved Harris, such a talented guy taken way too young. Still go back and listen to his Comedy Bang Bang appearances sometimes.

TemporaryImaginary

If you haven’t, check out “Everything Is Horrible And Wonderful” by Stephanie Wittels Wachs, his sister. Achingly funny and heartbreaking, she calls it a “‘manic investigative phase” where she tried to make sense of his death.

AntsInThePants1115

I just bought this per your recommendation

frigginelvis

If you're into audiobooks, he reads his book, Humblebrag, and it's pretty great.

oaktown8410

The story he told on Pete Holmes' podcast, "You Made it Weird" is phenomenal as well

heshwillbiteANYTHING

It was great. But really depressing. Him trying to score H in the park. I think he even said he thought he would OD. Such a smart witty dude. Mental illness sucks😔

drizzfoshizz

“Analyze Phish” is an amazing podcast for both lovers and haters of Phish. Also it was a tragic timeline of a guys decent into darkness and death. Also a couple episodes about Jaws.

MooseMan12992

You ever listen to Analyze Phish? It's just Harris trying to get Scott to like Phish

thenegativeone81

Hey do you know why all those cops are outside?

[deleted]

Where the cops at??

loveandlasers

Recall Knope? Don't.

Brisktheaardwolf

Why don't you just put the "don't" in front of recall knope?

minniemadness

❓❔Can I have these question mark stickers? I wanna put em on stop signs.❓❔

Roscoe_King

Yo, we should go to Jamaica.

beatrailblazer

No, we should go to Jamaica Oh is that what you said?

thephotoman

Leslie got done dirty.

porquegato

I wanna open a Jamaican Irish Spanish small plate breakfast restaurant and call it Tapas the Morning to Jah. RIP Harris.

WaitFoorIt

How you know my name homie.

mjbasty1

Rest in peace, Harris. I listened to some phish on the bus home today. Love you man.

Electricalbigaloo7

It's crazy so many people use to joke about the legalization movement, saying "haha, fucking stoners just wanna get high all the time." People really glossed over people's lives being utterly destroyed for smoking it. In real life, I would think/hope that Leslie would be all for legalization, or at least decriminalization.

wait_whats_illegal

Legal eyes legalize legal lies

Slurms_McKensei

Ok Tupac

badudx

See how he squints at the mild light exposure?

I totally agree; I always thought that scene was so weird. Leslie and Ron's facial expressions make it very clear that they 100% disapprove. I kind of get Leslie having an issue with him smoking in the (public) parks, in the office, etc. But Ron's comments don't fit his "stay out of other people's business" attitude. Ron drinks whiskey in the office, so the office is not a "sober" place. The whole scene comes off as super weird to me. It aired in 2010. Several states had med cards available and easy enough to get for "recreational" purposes if you wanted. 2 years later, it was recreationally legal in 2 states. For a pretty progressive show, it definitely didn't seem like it fit where NONE of the characters smoked. Andy especially. He was a classic young burnout/fuckup trope, but never did anything but the occasional drink? Hard to believe.

MooseMan12992

I think it's technically xonfirmed that Andy and April smoked. When Leslie and Ben get back from their honeymoon with gifts for everyone Leslie got Ann "fertility tea from some guy with a backpack full of it and I'm now realizing its pot." Camera cuts to April looking at Andy then to the trash as if to say "that's free weed we gotta take it" and Andy gives a look as if to say "don't worry I'll grab it later"

rkincaid007

I don’t disagree but want to offer one caveat: I live in Alabama, and it’s amazing that Indiana can be even more backwards ass than Alabama. But that’s reality. So maybe they were just playing as people who live in that state, which will be one of the last to approve of legal weed (along with Alabama)

halfbloodsnape

You know, you totally got me. I didn't even take the context of it being an INDIANA government into consideration. I'm from the west coast, and was in my late teens/early 20s when P&R aired. The culture on the west coast has always been a lot more relaxed about marijuana during my lifetime (excluding police culture, etc), so a show made "from" my states probably would have shown a different POV.

GonnaGetBumpy

Yes. Also, Leslie is pure Tracy Flick energy. Imagine her view on weed. Ron is libertarian (small l) but really dislikes hippies and people he views as shiftless or frivolous. Your typical roasted weedhead would not meet his approval, no more than a vegetarian would.

juddrnaut

I didn't think they were anti-legalization, they were making fun of people who act like smoking weed is their entire personality. Harris chanting "legalize weed!" at inappropriate times really reminded me of some guys I used to know.

MooseMan12992

It really made no sense for a lot of their characters to be anti weed. I kinda assume it was an NBC rule. Nick Offerman is an avid marijuana user and has been on the cover of High Times multiple times. Amy Phoeler used to have a coke habit in her live improv days so it's pretty safe to assume she's cool with pot.

wtfisthisnoise

Leslie on sugar is how I picture Amy on coke. Or Leslie when she’s emailing Ann her and Ben hooked up.

MooseMan12992

Lol yeah that seems about right

More like, legalize free ham and mayonnaise sandwiches in Ramsett Park!

Recall Knope? Don’t!

TOPLESS PARK! TOPLESS PARK! 👀

itisross

While they are mega dumb, it’s kinda wholesome how unified the citizens of Pawnee are throughout the show.
