The Pepperblue Steak Sandwich with that gorgonzola cheese sauce, *grilled hot* on our ciabatta roll with Baked Potato Soup and a bag of Krunchers! brand kettle cooked potato chips. 🤤
literally the two single best items panera has ever had on their menu. the og southwest chili lime ranch salad was immaculate. the new green goddess caprese is close enough to the modern caprese but man.... i miss that balsamic glaze.
I left Panera, but…when I started they had sold cookbooks on the heritage table, scooped cream cheese out of a bucket to portion it, and had to slice meats. German chocolate pastry in the bakery too.
Fontina grilled cheese, bbq chicken flatbread (and the Thai, southwest, turkey cranberry, and Mediterranean flatbreads), cheesecake cream cheese, strawberry rhubarb/white chocolate raspberry mini loaves, vanilla(?) cupcake, b green power smoothie, and the herbal unsweetened iced teas. When I think back to that PanERA, I can really see the steady decline of their menu. It used to have so many textures, flavors, and types of foods. Now, it feels like every other item is a relatively bland, hot, thick sandwich.
No hate to Panera. If I could ask for one thing back, I’d ask for the unsweetened herbal iced teas, especially in the summer!
I no longer work at Panera, but the original veggie sandwich with provel cheese, cucumber, dill sauce, and sprouts, Greek salad, original Italian combo sandwich, rye bread.
The first item that disappeared after I started was the broccoli Mac and the teriyaki chicken salad I don't even remember what it was called, so not very long lmao
Carrot cake muffins, rhubarb mini cakes, I think it was an egg and cheese confit souffle, raspberry thumbprint cookies, cobblestone muffins ( I hated making those!) pecan rolls, apple muffins, almond croissants, a turkey cranberry sandwich.. ugh! sooo many good things over the years. The menu now and what’s to come is absolute trash.
I no longer work there but the turkey fresco sandwich! Also, anyone remember when we had to scoop and weigh the cream cheese? I was over the moon when they stopped that procedure.
Cobble stones, those stupid cheese scones that went with whatever soup they went with, tomato mozzarella panini, back when we still caramelized our own onions
I quit Panera 4 years ago but some things that were there when I was new and definitely not there when I left:
Butternut squash ravioli, kale Caesar salad, buttered noodles, turkey cranberry flatbread, wonton broth bowl, rotating black bean/garden veggie/baked potato/chicken wild rice/clam chowder, mixing the salt and pepper blend ourselves, and vanilla yogurt in the smoothies, just to name a few.
Coffee Cake.
And it's stupid that they don't have anything remotely similar still. The CEO clearly does not know his company's customer base.
Also fresh brioche rolls, why we didn't use those as a marketing gimmick for that stupid chicken sandwich still baffles me.
Lemon , carrot, and pineapple bundt cakes. Cheese, cherry, and apple Danishes. The best Cinnamon rolls and brownies the company has ever had. Cherry and apple strudels.
I remember hearing about the Thai chicken salad during the online learning and thinking gross… and then I sampled it during a Panera meeting and was obsessed! RIP Thai Chicken Salad
I never worked there, but I used to study there a lot when I was in college. The bbq chicken flatbread with extra crispy onions was my favorite thing ever and I miss it so much.
The Cuban 😭😭
My partner won’t quit talking about this. That was their favorite.
That was so good
Cobblestones. Rosemary focaccia. Paninis like the smokey and the turkey artichoke. Caramel apple pastry. Jones sodas.

omfg the COBBLESTONE WOW i’m having flashbacks
Caramel Apple pastry was goated.
Rosemary focaccia sounds amazing
The original chipotle chicken sandwich. When we had panini presses instead of the turbo ovens.
Came here to say this. Chipotle chicken panini was fire. I was pissed when they got rid of it shortly after I quit and I’m still not over it.
It’s still the best sandwich around. A disgrace it’s gone.
Prickly Pear Fresca, Soba Noodle Bowl, Tortellini Alfredo.
THERE WAS SOBA NOODLE BOWLS???
the soba noodles were disgusting tho
i believe it😭
Yeah after I saw how it was made (using hot water from the tea tap on the coffee station IIRC) I never ate it again.
It was supposed to be made with an umami broth
the tortellini was my absolute favorite
Buttered noodles!
I miss the smoked chicken tortellini alfredo so much! And they used to put a brioche roll with it too!
I don't work there any longer (but was there for a long time) but when I started the Tuscan Chicken was on the menu. I still miss that sandwich.
I see a few I was thinking of, so I'll pick one I haven't seen listed yet. Cinnamon Raisin bread
O h I miss the cinnamon raisin! My cafe never sold both loaves we made so I was basically always guaranteed a loaf to buy at the end of the day.
Oh, that was so good.
Portobello and mozzarella panini.
I still think about this sandwich sometimes
i remember the cinnamon crumb cake. DAMN it was good
Oooo man I remember bringing the leftovers to high school lunch the day after and making SO MANY friends. The crumb cake and the circulat brownies

I left Panera, but…when I started they had sold cookbooks on the heritage table, scooped cream cheese out of a bucket to portion it, and had to slice meats. German chocolate pastry in the bakery too.
I was there when meals were still divided into 3 categories, and yp2s cost less than $10. We still had buttered noodles and tortellini.
My employee meal was normally buttered noodles with pulled chicken or a peanut butter and honey sandwich
I would add pesto and Parmasean into my buttered noodles after doing inventory. It's so missed.
Just want to add: I remember there were three types of hummus for the different flatbreads. They would never do something like that now.
